Every time we go to our #1 favorite restaurant La Hacienda Ranch on Preston Road in Dallas, we're greeted with their friendly staff and our amazing waitress, Jasmine, who has our order + favorite items memorized! She is so gracious & thoughtful in how she serves us too. We love the dimly lit restaurant...the peace...the coziness as well as the incredibly delicious food. The awesome and humorous manager ,Raphael, knows how to run a smooth place with happy employees. We've been to other locations of this restaurant chain in the Frisco/Colleyville area, but this one surpasses them all time and time again in every way. Thank you!

We came here at 7pm on a Saturday night and had a great experience. We were sat right away and received great service. It was very busy but we didn't have to wait very long to receive what we needed. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Though some of the prices are a little higher than a lot of Tex-Mex places, there are plenty of dishes under $15 - the Treviño combo ($15) includes a large crunchy taco, a guacamole tostada, a cheese enchilada covered in chili, a cheese soft taco with cheese sauce, and beans and rice. I'm a big guy and it filled me up. We also ordered two appetizers and got a half order of each, and I'm glad we didn't spring for the full size as the four bombers (chicken filled fried jalapenos) and 8 fajita nachos would have either one been an adequate appetizer for a party of two - the bombers are big and the fajita nachos had a lot of meat on every chip. Though the steaks are a little higher than some places ($31 for the 8oz cut, $41 for the 18oz bone-in ribeye) they are good quality, thick, and they know how to cook a rare steak. My daughter ordered the big steak "Texas Style" (with potato and mixed vegetables) the first time we came, the 8oz filet "Mexico Style" (with enchilada, chili sauce, rice, beans, and pico de Gallo) the second time and both are excellent. Want to give a shout-out to our server Darrell. Not only was he friendly and attentive, he asked all the right questions during our service, like if we wanted our appetizers early or closer to our entrees. When we come back (and we will), I hope we're in his section again.

Really great tex mex to try out. We had the Gonzalez burrito and cheese enchiladas. The waitstaff was quick, attentive and kind. We will definitely be returning to try their frozen margarita next time

I reserved this place for my son’s graduation .. they gave us the private room. Tylor and Jaimme are the managers who were extremely nice، they do the set up I want and their servers were extra professional. The food was amazing .. thank you So much for making our party so successful and unforgettable.

Josh was our server and every suggestion he made was phenomenal. Drinks were always filled and he made sure that we were happy with our experience. Absolutely recommend coming here for your Mexican food cravings as well, the food was top notch and the seasoning and food temp was right on point!

We were a large family of 12. Seated quickly on a Thursday night. Our waitress Jordan was incredible. She took our orders quickly, refilled drinks, served food and had many other tables around us as well. The food was true Tex-Mex and plenty of it. Every dish we ordered was tasty and cheesy and just full of flavor. Thin chips and warm salsa - DIVINE! We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a consistent good meal.

The server was excellent and the food is great. I decided to have chicken quesadillas and double guacamole for my lunch I had a sangria margarita that was really good and my companion had beef enchiladas and a margarita on the rocks. We enjoyed our food immensely. There were two kinds of hot sauce there was mild and hot. I really love the hot hot sauce and it was what I expected and more. It was flavorful and chunky and just enough hot. The atmosphere here is great and there's a nice soft music in the background. Not too loud so you can still talk and hear your companions at the table.

Looking for lunch on a Saturday. We were Seated immediately. Greeted with smiles. Becca was our server and did a phenomenal job. The food came out accurate. Queso appetizer was a solid choice. Mini tacos for the girls. The rice and beans were very tasty. The tacos order the wife and I split were more than plentiful! Drinks were on full as were the chips and spicy yummy salsa. We definitely WILL return when in the area. I usually tip well... And I definitely liked everything and appreciated everything... Hence the %30 tip. Staff should be commended for jobs well done. If I could give the service 5 stars, I would. Sarah is amazing. Fastest fajitas in town (seriously, I didn't know how they get them to you so quickly half the time) but so delicious you'll want to savor them. I've only ever had room for the apple skillet pie once (we started with it) but it is with the calories if you can fit it in.

November 2025 Finally we decided to stop by this restaurant after years of driving by. Great old town atmosphere as we walked in. The fresh chips and warm salsa were delightful. Generous portion and flavorful dishes. The only down side was we had to ask for refills, we were not sure our server had another station in another part of dinning room. This is a busy restaurant with many patrons. The fajitas must be very good since many people ordered. Highly recommended this restaurant.

I’ve been coming to this location for 20 years! It is always one of my go to places. Of course, the margaritas are perfect! The food and service is great as well! My 3 favorite items are the chicken tortilla soup, fajitas, grilled fajita chicken salad The chicken tortilla soup is a meal in itself. On many occasions I will call and order just the chicken tortilla soup to go! The warm roasted salsa is so good and the apple pie for dessert!

Historic longevity. It was 1971 in the Old Town center that I discovered Mariano’s Mexican restaurant. That was the year the owner, Mariano Martinez, invented the world’s first frozen margarita machine. Instantly, it became the “go to “ restaurant in Dallas. Today the greatest continues. The addition of wood fired grilled steaks with all the traditional Mexican dishes is unique. The smell of the grilling steaks and food coupled with the ranch decor is incredible. Tylar Smith is the manager and his decades of experience here makes your dining experience memorable. The menu is so broad it makes you want to sample it ALL. The enchiladas with rice,beans,and a taco was a great choice. The chips and two salsas were good. Seeing the servers delivering steaming fajitas and other plates to adjoining tables planted the “ I want that “ feeling. The food , atmosphere, and service deserve your patronage. Make it sooner than later. See you there!

Definitely a nice place to eat, and judging by the crowds, it's pretty popular. My family had a great time and the food was well prepared. It was pretty common Tex-Mex and nothing really stood out as unique, but just well done. It was pretty dark throughout the restaurant and loud too, so be aware of that if it's an issue.

Couples' dinner was at La Hacienda Ranch. We opted for lunch and were actually the first ones in! Three of us ordered the strawberry/mango frozen margarita. Love, love, loved it! Two of us ordered the Surf and Turf while everyone else ordered the combination fajitas. We're a pretty chatty bunch, but once the food arrived, no one was talking. The fajita beef and chicken were so tender!!! The shrimp and bacon were mouth-watering!!! Our server was very friendly and made sure our orders were correct. One of us has a severe shellfish allergy, so his attention to this was very much appreciated.

Pleasant to the eyes, with a nice decor and efficiently organized with bar, high tables, tables and booths. The beef is tender and tasty, highly recommended! Also, try the apple pie at the end! The presentation is great and the taste really good.

My wife and I really like the La Hacienda Ranches. We visit when we are in town. This time we were with family and went to the one on Preston Rd. Normally we used to visited the one Carrollton, then when it closed we started going to the one in Frisco. The staff at the Preston La Hacienda Ranch were great and stood up to the high standards of the former Carrollton and the La Hacienda Ranch in Frisco. However my in-laws had the chicken lite plates and they said the flavor was not the same. Granted the plates they ordered were off menu now, so that may be the problem with their dishes. My wife and I had the Beef Fajitas the beef and it was tender as ever but we noticed that the flavor was muted and not as good as the Frisco establishment. My wife also had a margarita and it was perfect in her estimation. May have just been a bad day for the cook.

My server was great! She took very good care of us. As far as the food there were a few issues. But they were busy and I guess the kitchen had to cut corners to keep up. So I would say if you see people waiting for a table it's probably best to leave and come back when it's not as busy.

The dining room was hopping on a Thursday night! The server was very friendly and attentive even though she had several tables. I normally drool over the nachos but last night left me disappointed. The chips were soggy & there was only one or two pieces of chicken or steak on each nacho. There was probably a pound of cheese smothering the nachos and the guacamole was a tiny serving. Thank goodness for the half price top shelf swirl margaritas. There is a reason, the drinks are limited to three per guest. You won't find a better margarita for only $6.00 anywhere in town.

I really must say this was close to perfect as it gets. The food was delicious the stuffed jalapenos were some of the best I ever had. The chips and salsa OMG why have I not heard about this place before. The drinks were strong and delicious also make sure you go for happy hour. My server Sarah was Second To None I think the good Lord put her on Earth to be a server if you ever go you have to sit in her section she pays attention to detail and is very attentive. The only reason why my review is not perfect because the boot I was sitting in the seat made me feel like I was sinking it had a dip in it that made you sink in, maybe the cushion was worn but besides for that, this place is worth it

I really enjoy the food and although the server has a great personality. I can't stand when restaurants do not bus table during your visit. Not the first time this has has happened. Server made sure we had refills; but didn't pick up empty glasses. Appetizer and dinner plates still on our table when we received and ate our dessert. I can't tell you how many team nerves passes by our table and ignored the dishes!!! No we didn't tell anyone as it was clearly obvious as we pushed it all to the end of the table!! No one cared!!!

Service was good. Food could be better. Regular salsa tasted spoiled. The upgrade to shrimp on my fajitas wasn't worth it. They give you 2 butterflied shrimp for the combo fajitas. Steak was really good, so just get steak and save the money for the shrimp.

This was our first time trying here. We met friends as they say it's one of their favorites. It was very good. The 3 stars are because we have a couple of Mexican restaurants in the area we like better. Saying that it was packed so obviously it is well liked. Try for yourself and make your own opinion. It's worth that.

I stopped by La Hacienda Ranch on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The atmosphere and staff were friendly and service was fast. The food, however, was average as far as Tex-Mex goes. I had the enchiladas suizas, the flavor was bland and lacking of any spark. While technically good and edible, I expected something more that would live up to the hype and the price. I will return and try a different dish, but on this visit I left with that “ehhh…” feeling.

For TX-Mex, this place is a must try! Be aware they are proud of themselves (over priced). I had to skip on the steak fajitas which is just a shame. Now for the entrees, of course no TX-Mex can actually cook chicken or ground beef.. So upgrade to steak. The Spanish Enchiladas (covered in cheese) has great grilled vegetables and the Mendez, had chili in the enchiladas. The refried beans were nothing special but I was happy for the corn in my rice. The salsa was actually the best part of the entire meal.. Suggested tip, if you can afford the fajitas, add the salsa into it!

Hate to say it but this place rates as "over". Overrated and overpriced. Server was efficient and polite. Menu is way overpriced for margaritas and fajitas are $27 at lunch??? Wow. No thanks. So had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. They were tasty and well done. Chips and two salsas were also really good. But I am going to have to cut back on dining out or make fajitas at home if this is the future! Sad...

I'm really surprised by all the 5-star reviews. Don't get me wrong, this place was fine, but we will not be back. Our server practically ignored us and got our relatively simple orders wrong. The queso tastes like cheese whiz- wasn't particularly tasty and I had to mix it with the salsa to get some flavor in it. The salsa, now their salsa is legit- probably the best thing we had there, and I also enjoyed the chips, they were good and salty. However I ordered the fajitas and the beef was so... basic. The onions in the skillet were good but the meat left a lot to be desired. I also got a side of vegetables which had very little seasoning/flavor. Tried by husband's rice- also rather bland. The atmosphere was not what I expected- felt much more "country" almost like it should have been a BBQ place rather than a Tex Mex joint. It was *very* dark inside- really unnecessarily so, as it was like 11:30am when we were there.

Foods good, but it's over priced tex mex in a state where there is tex mex on ever corner, and honestly done better. Very pretty restaraunt.

I went at almost 4 on a Friday and they couldn’t be less excited to have guests at the restaurant. We sat in the bar and waited for happy hour. The waiter mentioned we had to wait for 4 to get the $2 off. My bf we hungry so we ordered. The food came out fast but the waiter who took the order was not there and didn’t dismiss himself. The food was so hot it was hard to enjoy.I was able to get a margarita but didn’t enjoy it. It wasn’t a great experience

We have been eating at this Hacienda Ranch location for over 15yrs. It has had the best/top notch Chicken/Steak Fajitas by far and above any of the Tex/Mex rests. on a consistent basis. Eaten as a family of six (6) and had over ten (10) large party dinner gatherings because of it's consistent juicy beef and chicken fajitas over the years. We also frequented the previous location in Carrollton,Tx throughout the yrs as this was only a few miles from our home base. The Carrollton location was never anywhere close to the quality of preparation/presentation/consistency. Although the Carrollton location was frequently visited we would always go to the Preston Road location at the Preston Trail Plaza due to it's superior/consistent food. Never once were we anything other than ecstatic over the food at this Preston Rd. location until the other night Wedn. 04/16/25, we had one of our semi-large family gathering and the food prep couldn't have been more disappointing. We understand that there's going to be an off night with any restaurant but with the quantity of beef/chicken fajitas ordered, six (6) it was a real let down. We always specify the beef to be prepared rare to medium rare as it always cooks a bit more sitting in the hot plate. The beef was chewy and tough/the chicken couldn't be any dryer and the onions provided weren't enough for (3) let alone (6). We didn't complain as there were (5) other guests that ordered a variety of plates but after a few discussions with them the past week their plates were a disappointment as well. The only reason we're making a big issue of this is we have been so very pleased with this particular restaurant and in hopes management will see these comments and makes a conservative effort to review and take any necessary measures to uphold the high standards they have so diligently maintained the past 25yrs or so.

A very split review. Our food was good and our server, Sarah was perhaps the best waitress I have ever had. She was great. But the management was terrible. My father was meeting us at the restaurant. He is an amputee in a wheel chair. I noticed that the three handicapped parking spaces were taken. I looked at the cars and saw that the Mercedes with Texas plates MRR-0136 was parked in one of the spaces without having a plate or tag with a handicapped designation. I took my concern to the management inside the restaurant and asked them to call the police about the car. They huddled for a moment and told me that they were not going to do anything about it. I called the police and filed a report. The person told me that it was private property and I should report it to the management. I said that I did and that they said they weren't going to do anything about it. She made note of that in the official report. If you are not going to enforce rules against people illegally parking in a handicapped spot, then why do you have one? If we had known in advance that this was their policy, we would not have eaten here. I believe that my father deserves an apology. If it had been just me, I would have left, but we had several family members coming together and I didn't want to rock that boat. But, despite how wonderful Sarah was, I will never give these people my business again.

The hostess was nice. Waitress was nice. Bartender was nice. The building needs a remodel. It's old and it shows. Cabinets behind the bar falling down, batrooms are pretty dingy. Everything looks dated even considering the old ranch house theme. The food wasn't great. Had 2 bowls of the smoked salsa. 1 was refrigerator cold and super spicy. 2nd was actually warmed up and tasted like liquid smoke with no spice at all. Wife had the sour cream chicken enchiladas. Sauce was similar to Elmers glue. I had the grilled burrito. The Piccadillo was... odd. It's a staple texmex item but they failed. I'm not sure what the side sauce was supposed to be. It came with a dry salad (instead of the traditional rice & beans?) so maybe it was a dressing? It was somewhere between 1000 Island and Chipotle ranch. The margaritas taste good and have a lot of booze in them but not worth $18. The atmosphere is terrible. Wood logs on the walls are so dusty you can smell it. 10 year old plastic table cloths. Uncomfortable chairs. Bright can lights overhead. The music is so loud you have to shout to be heard which makes the volume in the place even louder. Wife and I were 2 feet apart and couldn't hear each other. Then they sat a table of about 15 with 2 SCREAMING kids that somehow managed to be the loudest things in the room. It was just too much. We had to go. Food prices are decent. Beer was cold and $6 isn't bad for a restaurant beer. Spent $105 including the 25% tip. The 2 margaritas were more than 1/3 of the total. Overall, not the worst place we ever ate, but I wish we had gone somewhere else.

I’ve always loved La Hacienda Ranch. I’ve been going there since I was in my 20s and I’m now in my 50s and the one thing that I noticed was the plate portion. Unfortunately, they have changed the amount of food that they put on the plate. I’ve always said I’m willing to pay the extra money for my plate because I know the cost of food is gone up but don’t change the amount of food portion that people get! I ordered the brisket tacos 🌮 and three itty bitty tacos And barely any avocado. It’s sad. And they don’t think that we noticed, but we do especially the people that’s been loyal for 20 years. So if you wanna keep me for another 20 years, listen to your customers! Because I was so disappointed in my plate. Needless to say, the food was good, but the food amount portion was not. If I’m paying $20 for my plate, I expect a full meal, not an appetizer. I’m just sayin.

We went here for the first time on a Friday evening to celebrate our anniversary. I looked at several reviews and most of them were very good somehow. Our experience was anything but good. We waited at the bar for a table for about 25 mins, then we're seated at a table. We didn't mind the wait but you would expect to get a decent room/table for the wait. The restaurant itself was packed and extremely noisy and chaotic. The room they sat us in smelled damp and dusty. They brought in a group for a small child's birthday party, with two of the kids screaming almost non stop and extremely loud. Talk about wishing we had not come here at all. The food was decent, nothing memorable. Chips and the red salsa were fairly good. Husband had the grilled burrito and said it was not good at all. The margarita was okay, I've had much better and the price was ridiculous for the size. Our waitress was nice and attentive at least. We so regret coming here and having our anniversary ruined, all while spending $100. Needless to say, we will never go back and certainly won't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Poor customer experience. Rode up on a motorcycle. Manager refused to let me sit on the patio to eat, but was willing to sell me "To Go". REALLY? I'm on a bike?!! LIKE I'm gonna make it home without a huge mess? Said outside seating doesnt open until 4pm...it was 3:40. There were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS to be seen. Patio is still empty. I'm sitting at Pizza Guy instead. They have outside tables GREAT PIZZA and were happy I was there! Adios La Hacienda! You won't see me anymore.

Food isn’t really poor. Fajitas tasted really poor and came out cold. Queso was not good at all either and how do you mess that up. Kids chicken strips didn’t even fill up our two year old. How could you serve a kids meal this small is criminal. It’s Insanely expensive. Over $100 for two people and a kids meal. Service was pretty good and our waitress was very nice but food was slow.

I would have rated higher for the food but unfortunately we were unable to try it due to the fact that our waitress made our visit very unpleasant. This was our first time visiting the establishment and will be our last. Waitress was very rude to us and had answered rudely when asked a question by one of our guests for no reason at all and when we asked for a refill of chips she proceeded to to go to an empty table and pour the leftover chips from that table that was right next to us and handed us the basket with the cold chips and salsa. When we confronted her she denied it at first but then later apologized after she realized that she was caught. At this point we were uncomfortable eating there after finding out that she had done that and we couldn’t trust the integrity of the food she was serving us at that point. We decided to pay for our drinks and leave at that point due to the horrible service and treatment we received. The manager was understanding and got our information for a gift certificate to be sent to us for compensation from the ordeal which we had just experienced. Which we appreciated but to be honest I don’t think I will ever visit again after this ordeal.

After seeing all those great reviews, I figured I was going to give this restaurant a try. I ordered a medium rare sirloin steak and this is what I was served. It tasted the same like my friends fajitas and was definitely not a sirloin steak, nor was it medium rare. Although they did charged me $26. I didn't eat much of it and taken the rest home for my dog. Needless to say, this was a disappointment and I wont be back. This place is overrated!

Sarah the server was so rude. Did not take our order on time. Finally a supervisor took our order. I asked Sarah for check she came back and through the check on the table. Because of her service we were so u happy and our gathering became not we expected.
