I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. Decided to give this taqueria a try on a whim and so glad we did. Just so happened to be on Taco Tuesday! Little did we know the street tacos would only be $1.25 each. What a bargain! I had the trompo and carnitas. Both were tasty, but the trompo was my favorite. They come with fresh onions, fresh cilantro, limes, and grilled onions. I had 4 tacos for only $5.00! We walked in and had 6 or 7 people in front of us waiting to order. The line moved quickly through. By the time we finished eating there were 20+ people in line to order. I suggest getting there earlier to avoid the line. But even if you do have to wait a few minutes the food is well worth the wait.

I came with my husband and friend to this restaurant. They had so many options of food. I ordered a quesabirria and it was sooo delicious. It was crispy. The cosome warm and tasty. My husband ordered a birria burger. It was a unique item but it was also delicious. It had guacamole on his burger which was a plus! My friend ordered a torta de fajita and tacos. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The torta was loaded with vegetables and meat. I highly recommend! Definitely coming back here again!!

I recently checked out Mijas Taqueria in Lake Highlands and I have to say, it was an absolute delight. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with colorful decor. But the real star of the show was the amazing sopes. These traditional Mexican dishes were made to perfection, with a crisp, fried base topped with flavorful fajitas, beans, crema, and fresh vegetables. The combination of textures and flavors was simply mouthwatering. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. I left feeling fully satisfied and already planning my next visit. If you're in the Lake Highlands area and craving delicious, authentic Mexican food, make sure to check out this Taquería. You won't be disappointed!

Tonight I had the Regias, three red tortillas rolled with Fresca cheese, which were topped with a combination of seasoned potatoes and carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and served with sides of refried beans and rice, all well seasoned. The red and green sauces included were both extremely delicious. I also tried a cup of Elote and their chips and queso. Everything was fresh with great bold flavours. Service was friendly and she gave great explanations of the food as it was my 1st time here. Prices are very reasonable. Have gone back a few times but recently tried their shrimp street tacos which were full of tender sautéed shrimp, cooked onion as I asked for no raw, cabbage, cilantro, and lime. Drizzled with their red and green sauces they were delicious in corn tortillas ! Also tried their chili relleno which was battered and fried to perfection. Again, topped with their red and green sauces, it was extremely tasty.

Very tasty!!!! We are always looking for good tacos close by and we can’t say thank you enough for coming to our area! Very family oriented and I’m sure it was the owner that came out and gave our son some rice. Very sweet of you. We had Trompo tacos all the way around, rice and beans, elotes, shrimp cocktail, and earlier today my husband came for lunch and had the quesabirria tacos! Overall great experience and looking forward to coming back often because we live exactly a mile away!!!! This could be dangerous but so worth it!!!

I only got the shrimp quesadilla and horchata but the flavor was there. Food was delicious. The restaurant was nice and clean. Would definitely come back.

I was recommended this place by a friend and it definitely lived up to the hype! The food was amazing, it reminded me of the last time I ate in Mexico. • it’s fairly authentic! • reasonably priced! • Horchatas and Sweet Tea are great! • Green salsa in bottle is amazing! • Trompo (Adobo Pork) is phenomenal! • Atmosphere is nice and clean. I look forward to revisiting this place and making my way through the whole menu! The reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars, with the only critique being that the service lacked precision, the food arrived in odd untimely bundles at a time, and certain items were consistently overlooked. A little more attention to detail, warmth, and efficiency from the staff could really elevate the experience. Overall, it was satisfactory but with potential for enhancement. It’s still absolutely worth becoming a regular costumer, the food alone speaks volumes!

I was in the Lake Highlands area and decided to try this new taqueria out. My mom used to frequent the location in Wylie before they closed and she has used them for catering for private events as well. I got the taco plate with rice, beans and three tacos. Fajita, carnitas, and chicharrón were my choices- the fajita was my favorite because it was stuffed but it lacked flavor, the carnitas also lacked flavor (the ones Michoacána has taste way better) and the chicharrón was more on the meaty side and literally had zero flavor and barely any inside the taco. The tacos overall lacked flavor- the beans and rice were good. They came out quickly but the food was barely warm. My boyfriend also got tacos- he said they were mid and wouldn’t come back. He also got a beef fajita quesadilla and that was ok. My daughter got the quesadilla birria tacos- the birria is beef and they had good flavor. The only issue was they were too soggy; the tortilla was soft and you really couldn’t dip the taco in the broth without it falling apart. For dessert we got flan and churros. The churros were mid- nothing out of this world. The flan had real good flavor. . . . probably my favorite thing here. The horchata agua fresca was not good. The place is nice, very clean and well maintained and the customer service was great! The girl that took our order and the girl that brought our order out were both very friendly. My boyfriend said he wouldn’t come back. I probably would for the birria tacos (just ask for extra crispy tortilla) and the flan.

The restaurant was big and clean. The service was great. It had big booths on each side with tables in the middle. I ordered tostadas with beef fajita meat. It had beans, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and a little bit of white cheese (goat cheese) on top. The fajita meat was grisly, and I was disappointed that it didn't have shredded cheese on it. My husband had enchiladas Rojas with rice beans. The enchiladas were okay and the rice was good. I had a Coke which was served in a bottle. It was great. It had sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup.

Got the monster burrito for $15 it was a basic burrito the Fajita chicken was bland it was nice and cheesy though. The tortilla was soggy and the fries were soft. They were seasoned good but they were soft. I’m disappointed. I’m going to try this place again but try something different. For being $15 I really thought it would be a bigger burrito since the other burritos are $8.99. There was something I’m not sure if it was chicken skin the in the burrito but it was nasty and had to throw the rest of the burrito away. The ladies were very nice when I came in. It was early so no one was there but the place looked clean and well organized.

This was my very first time coming to this restaurant. It’s relatively new and in my neighborhood. I ordered birria tacos and as you can see it’s nothing but a soggy falling apart greasy mess. The food came out suspiciously fast and the girl taking orders had an obvious attitude problem and just did not want to be there. I’ll never be coming back and I’ll make sure to let everyone know to not spend their money here. For a brand new restaurant there’s no excuse for these issues. The people they are employing just do not care about service or food quality. People like that should not be in the service industry. What a let down. * To the owners apathetic response to my review, case and point exactly. Just an overall careless attitude because it’s always the customer whose incorrect right? The customer is just complaining to be mean right? You couldn’t possibly have any room for improvement could you? Well just so you know, you may be a new establishment but you are not unique. You are one of a million restaurants in the DFW , begrudgingly serving up unpalatable, slopped together & spoiled “food” while surprised when your customers express any level of dissatisfaction. Why don’t you put your own tacos in your mouth and then tell me what’s wrong. You should really be ashamed of yourself for believing that it’s ok to serve other people what you served me. Please have some self awareness.
