Opinions de Truluck's Dallas
We just had a wonderful experience for Thanksgiving Dinner. This is our special occasion place and they always deliver. If you want a break from cooking I highly recommend this place. Plenty of food for the price and you’ll probably end up taking some home.
From valet to dessert this entire experience was wonderful. We felt celebrated by everyone we interacted with and enjoyed our entire visit. Jeff was an exceptional server, answered all our questions, and provided perfect service. The wine, crab, rainbow trout, blackened redfish, truffle fries and the Sonoma greens salad were all exceptional. Definitely a memorable afternoon.
TruLuck’s truly made my birthday a special treat, even though this is a late review. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was sexy, classy, and moody, with a very clean ambiance that I love. The food was beyond tasty, fresh, and made with love. From the valet to the hostess to the waiter, everyone was professional and focused on providing a stellar dining experience. Overall, the execution was a perfect 10 out of 10!
I wish I could give this place 10 stars!!! I went there for my 50th birthday. The service and food were amazing! My friend made the reservation so they knew it was my birthday. When I arrived the host welcomed me to the restaurant, asked my name then immediately thanked me for selecting their restaurant to celebrate my special occasion then told me happy birthday. She directed me to go upstairs to be seated where I was met by another host that welcomed me to the restaurant and greeted me with “happy birthday”. When I got to my table there was a card signed by the Truluck’s staff and a small vase with three roses❤️. This was so thoughtful, sweet, and greatly appreciated. Our waiter, Eric, was amazing. He offered menu suggestions and patiently answered all of our questions. The manager, Bob Cheney, stopped by our table to see how things were going and to wish me happy birthday. There was another gentleman that stopped by to check in as well. I didn’t get his name but we complimented him on his eye glasses. We engaged in a pleasant conversation with him and shared a few laughs. All of the staff were extremely friendly, professional, and were attentive to our needs. Let’s talk about the food. The parker house style rolls and butter….. sooooo good!!!! I had the crab cake for an appetizer. For my second course I had lobster bisque. For my main course I had blue crab stuffed lobster with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious! They served me baked Alaska with Happy Birthday written on the plate. I ordered carrot cake to take with me. I also had their berry patch non-alcoholic beverage. It was so refreshing. My friend had salt & pepper calamari, sonoma greens salad, jalapeño salmon béarnaise, and ginger limeade. Again, everything was great. 10/10…. Truluck’s Dallas for the win 🏅. I highly recommend this restaurant. P.S. Sorry, I ate the rolls, crab cake, and lobster bisque before thinking about taking pics.
Went here on August 3rd for my 1st Anniversary with my girlfriend and Trulucks was the True MVP! They made customized menus for us and everyone greeted us and wished us a happy anniversary!! The food was AMAZING and our server Leron was fantastic! Definitely one of the best places in Dallas to eat
100% excellent high class restaurant! Just be prepared. excellence has a price. We went for our anniversary and were greeted and congratulated by all of the staff that we walked past. They made the dining experience about you. The food was incredible! It's hard to describe it any other way. The taste was fresh and flavorful. This is our new anniversary spot. Thank you to the staff for making our anniversary dinner special.
We enjoyed an exquisite dining experience at Truluck's. From the moment we arrived, with every point of contact, with the service throughout, and the amazing delectable menu choices, we felt special and well cared for. Our server Mary was warm, friendly and gracious. Pictured: Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martini, Crab & Shrimp Napolean, Lobster Bisque, New England Scallops with truffle mushroom risotto, Miso-glazed Seabass with crab fried rice, Carrot cake. We also enjoyed Sonoma Greens salad & Creme Brulee (not pictured). We look forward to returning again and again to enjoy the many other menu options.
Meal: Very tasty, we had the king crab and steak with a side of fried rice. The fried rice was surprisingly one of the best I’ve had. That’s something coming from a seafood restaurant. Highly recommend the fried rice. My crab was delicious and juicy. The bread was straight out of wherever it was baked, soft and great with butter. Drinks: Wine from the Bordeaux selection was smooth. Old fashion was strong and flavorful with the addition of bitters in it! Dessert: The best carrot cake I’ve had so far. Added nuts and butterscotch drizzle was a great addition for flavor and texture. Loved every slice I took and felt absolutely no guilt. Service: Our waiter was Taylor. He was attentive, quick and respectful. All employees wore masks and were nice and respectful. Thank you for the great service today!
Divine seafood tower! Sides were hit or miss. Au gratin potatoes were oddly cubed rather than sliced. Asparagus spears were not well selected and some were a little chewy. Fried rice was good!
Everything was perfect! This was my first time here and I absolutely enjoyed EVERY MINUTE of it. I typically like to try out different restaurants but I told my husband that whenever we celebrate any milestone, this is where I want to go. I especially love that in addition to being a steak & seafood restaurant, they also have vegan menu section. My husband is vegan and I LOVE seafood and steak so this is the perfect restaurant for us. Our waitress, Lauren, was so genuinely sweet and a number of the restaurant staff members made sure we were well taken care of. The food was soo delicious and the drinks blew my mind 😋
Absolutely wonderful experience from the moment we walked in the door until the very last bite! We started with a stone crab claw each as an appetizer. My wife had the king crab leg and I got the branzino. Wow... Just wow!! The cocktails were also great. The Upper Manhattan was especially yummy. If we are ever in Dallas again this will definitely be on our "must visit" list for sure!
This was my second time here. Made reservations online and received a call from a staff member asking if we were celebrating anything. I was taking my gf out celebrating 6 months and the staff set it up as an anniversary with the cake and a card. Food was amazing and the staff was awesome. A little pricey but worth it!
I was absolutely blown away. Came to celebrate my move to Dallas and they made every penny worth it. Eric was our server he was very knowledgeable and personable. I wish the piano player downstairs was more dressed for the ambiance but that is a very small compliant. If you are looking for fantastic views, delectable food, and great service. This is your stop!
The food was out of this world! I enjoyed every bite, I can’t believe how amazing it was. I’m definitely coming back many many more times. The service was wonderful, right when I arrived everyone was so attentive. Our table was upstairs, it had the best view ever! When we were seated the waitress brought us water, and many different fruit choices for our water. She explained every dish in such detail. The manager also came to our table and left his card. This was THE BEST restaurant I’ve ever been to. From the atmosphere, the people, the music, the attentiveness. I’m overwhelmed with happiness! Thank you Truluck’s for the best experience ever!
Last night we celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We celebrated a special occasion here in the past so when we were deciding where we would like to have dinner Truluck’s came to mind first without a second thought to dine anywhere else based on our past visit. Our Server was Andrew. He was very engaging and attentive. During our conversation we found he grew up in Buffalo NY. An instant connection and it was on after that👍😂. Reminisced about growing up in Buffalo and of course the conversation turned to the Bills!!!! Andrew really made the night special. Jeff also stopped by our table and wished us a Happy Anniversary as well. He was very engaging and attentive as well and continued to stop by to be sure everything was OK. My wife ordered Salmon and I ordered Shrimp and Scallops. Excellent. Night was topped off with complimentary Baked Alaska. Atmosphere was great. We will continue to visit on special occasions. All the staff from being greeted warmly at the front door to a sincere thank you when we left. Highly recommend Truluck’s.
Thank you Truluck’s Dallas for the hospitality. The entire team was amazing and very welcoming. Lauren our waitress job well done on meeting all of our needs. The food was soooooooo good. I ordered prime meatballs as a starter and ordered the Miso glazed seabass for dinner. My entire plate was clean so that speaks volume. I will come back here. It’s a very intimate setting. 💙
I had the pleasure of enjoying an exquisite early dinner with my friend Sheena yesterday, featuring an impressive array of dishes, including Stone Crab Claws, Lump Crab Cakes, Lobster bisque, Blue Crab stuffed Lobster tails with Crab fried rice, and Lamb chops with mashed potatoes. The bread with parmesan was exceptionally delicious, and the Mai Tai's were outstanding. Our server, Keagan, demonstrated remarkable knowledge of the menu, providing invaluable guidance throughout our dining experience. I am eager to return in the future. #amazballs 😋
Everything was absolutely delicious. We were very skeptical because we have had fine dining experiences all over the world. However, Truluck’s exceeded our expectations from the moment we walked in. We were very warmly greeted by the hosted. It was freezing inside and they adjusted the temperature which was a very pleasant surprise. Their attention to our minute discomfort was exceptional. Our server, Paloma, was very sweet and knowledgeable. She was friendly, professional and overall fantastic. The food was out of this world delicious. The oysters were super fresh and tasty. The calamari was crispy and melted in our mouths. The lobster linguini was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our empty plates were our best complements to the chef. Definitely recommend this restaurant. P.S. the live music was an excellent touch to a very nice evening. Their pianist and soloist was very talented.
My husband and I went there for the first time for a late Valentines lunch. It was absolutely wonderful and we would give it a clear five 5️⃣. The food, ambience, and service was outstanding and our waiter, Juan, was magnificent! We each had some of their crab claws for an appetizer and really enjoyed them. We were not crazy about the mustard sauce, but we asked for some clarified butter and as you can see from one of the pictures, they nicely brought it to us. We loved the warm hand towels they brought afterwards and the light scent with them was very nice as well. My husband had a filet mignon and would clearly give it a five 5️⃣. He said it was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. I had the salmon with crab and shrimp over mashed potatoes, and it tasted absolutely divine to me. I asked him to put the jalapeño Bernaise on the side, and I enjoyed it with it, but I’m not sure I didn’t like it better without it. Whatever the case, it was clearly delicious! My husband had their mac & cheese with crab on the top and he said that was absolutely delicious also. He would give the mac & cheese side, a clear five 5️⃣. We both had some of the bread and he would give it a five. I was not crazy about the Parmesan on the top, but he was, however, it tasted very fresh and I enjoyed dining on it with my main entrée. We both splurged and each had a dessert. I ordered the petite carrot cake with butterscotch sauce and it was DELICIOUS! I’m not even a carrot cake lover, and I loved that. I was shocked at the size of it, since I ordered a petite size, but it was very yummy! My husband had the cream brûlée and he thought it was wonderful. He said it was creamy with a good vanilla flavor and was the epitome of a good crème brûlée. 🍮 I also must brag on their water, it was absolutely wonderful! I have to be careful with making sure that I drink filtered water and this clearly surpassed any expectation I had. It was wonderful and was the only thing I even drank. My husband had a French press coffee with his dessert and he enjoyed that too. The ambience of the restaurant was absolutely wonderful, although it was during lunchtime. We would clearly go again and recommend this for a special evening. I think we will drive there again sometime and embrace another lovely dining experience.
Although this was my first time visiting this restaurant. The ambiance, food, and service were excellent. There was live music downstairs - the musician had a beautiful voice and played on the piano. My guest and I sat in a cozy booth upstairs. The lighting was perfect throughout the entire restaurant. The host, waiters, and staff provided us with excellent service. The food was excellent. I also ordered some other things and forgot to take the pictures.🤣 Oh, and I would definitely suggest trying the carrot cake. I will be visiting this restaurant again.
Excellent service, food was phenomenal and fresh. We were in one of the private dining rooms with a party of 8. The wine pairings were spot on. Worth every penny. Wonderful evening
Yesterday we took a mini road trip for some seafood at Truluck's Dallas. It was OFF THE CHARTS DELICIOUS! 🦞 🦀 🍤 🧡❤️💛 Oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, melt in your mouth fresh bread, lobster bisque, ginormous stone crab claws, lobster tail, seared scallops, mushroom risotto , asparagus, charred broccoli, and (even though I was beyond stuffed) a few bites of key lime pie!!!!! Service was impeccable! Beautiful ambiance with a view! I was impressed by how the menu’s were backlit when you opened them and how the lighting above actually spotlights the table. You get the feeling your meal is on stage and, of course, the star of the show! Truluck’s gets a full 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟! Not just a meal…but a true dining experience!
OUTSTANDING experience for our 29th Anniversary. Everything was flawless from start to finish. Best shrimp cocktail I've ever had. Manager Brian stopped by to check on us, and is a warm, and sincere host. Made sure every aspect of the experience was top notch.
Great destination for a dinner with friends or date night. Superb service and outstanding quality dishes. New York Strip is one of the best in town and the Sea Bass is perfection. Have to mention the Lobster Mac and Cheese, excellent side dish. Been here many times and intend to be back again!
Fantastic service and food. Went there to celebrate a birthday. Our servers were top notch and the food was delicious; oysters were fresh and flavorful, lobster was succulent and sweet and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Baked Alaska for the birthday guest and key lime pie were the perfect way to end the meal. Nice for a special occasion.
At first didn’t know what to expect eating in the upstairs area. It almost felt like a set piece for a dinner scene in a tv show or soap opera from slightly years past. But I misjudged too early. Our server Andrew basically made the dinner great for us. His recommendations and his great interactions while checkin in on us were great. Food was really good and it seemed like good attention to detail from the back. I’d happily go back.
Truly exquisite dinner. We tried everything from the oysters and stone crab appetizer, to the lobster bisque and baked Alaska. Everything here was top notch and served with the utmost luxury. The servers were attentive and engaged, we lacked for nothing. This was truly a treat to eat here and overlook the city for a luxurious dinner. Highly recommend this place for taking a customer or a special night with your significant other. Do not skip any course, try everything. You won’t be disappointed.
Most Romantic and cozy place for your evente. We went there for our 7yrs marriage anniversary. Service was awesome. Food appetizing and satisfying. Eric Ho rendered excellent service. Our Host Marcus Marrufo was more than awesome. He just made us want to go back for more. We Love this place! Finito
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Truluck’s. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional. For my entree, I ordered the Maine Lobster, and that was hands down one of the best meals I’ve had. The lobster was so savory. For appetizer, we ordered rolls and calamari, and both tasted really good! The calamari was on the sweeter side. For sides, we got truffles fries and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed both. For my birthday dessert, they brought out baked Alaska which had a great presentation. This location was beautiful! It is located in the heart of Uptown, has two stories, and floor to ceiling windows which offer great views. I would definitely come back here in the future! This is a great place to come to for a birthday. The staff gives you a handwritten card, and they decorate the table for you.
My wife and I had the best time. We went out to celebrate an award she won’t at work and the staff gave us a sensational experience. The food was outstanding and very well priced. Very romantic ambiance that enhanced the whole dinner. Great job, will be back
I absolutely love Truluck's! My love affair with Dallas began the very first time I visited. As soon as I landed, I couldn't help but Google the nearest five-star seafood restaurant, and Truluck's came up as the top choice. My fantastic experience might be a bit biased due to the date or the wonderful person I was with, but nonetheless, I’m giving it a full five stars. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the valet, who opened the door with a smile and welcomed me to Truluck's. I immediately felt that I was in for something fabulous. The hostess (I wish I had grabbed her name) welcomed us, and since we had made a reservation ahead of time, we were quickly seated. As I settled into my chair and ordered a drink, I remember the waiter introduced himself, but since this was over two years ago, the names have escaped me. What I do recall is the pleasant atmosphere; the place exuded a refined aura and a sense of connection that made the evening special. It was my birthday private celebration, and the meal was to die for! The dessert did not disappoint either. I would love the opportunity to go back and relive that amazing experience. While going through my phone, I found some pictures from that evening and decided to share my thoughts. Looking at these photos and reminiscing about those wonderful memories, I cannot wait to return to Dallas and visit Truluck's again!
Riley and Crystal provided excellent service. The food was outstanding and lounge area has a great atmosphere. Highly recommend for cozy date night. Will definitely return! Thank you both again for a wonderful evening and first time experience.
This restaurant is very elegant. It impresses with beautiful decor and delicious food...perfect for any occasion. The Live music and ambient lighting make for a romantic atmosphere. The service was also on point and the food portions were good. We ordered the steak, lobster, 2 kinds of fish, fresh oysters, mashed potatoes, fries and asparagus and everything was great. I will visit again the next time I am in town.
Our server, Mary, was incredible! She was attentive, knowledgeable and very personable. We visited to celebrate my 50th birthday and the entire staff couldn’t have made it better. Food was fantastic.. highly recommend the redfish ponchatrain. The cocktails were spot on!!! Absolutely perfect night. I left feeling so special!! Thank you, Mary!!!
The crab cakes are delicious. They truly are the best and freshest I've ever had. The trout and mash potatoes are terrific. The Parker house rolls melts in your mouth. The customer service is superb. I do wish they had more self parking spots instead of so many valet spots, but overall a great experience.
Tonight was my first time and we had Sydni as our server. She was GREAT! Everyone was on point, glasses always full and answering questions, making suggestions. This is now one of my top places in Dallas to dine at. They even had a birthday card and birthday confetti on the table, which was a great touch! Thank you for a great evening and delicious meal!
Maggie is an excellent, very personable and professional hostess who granted my request for a window seat for my birthday. Dawn was my server and she is AMAZING!! The crab cakes and lobster bisque were soooo good I wanted more. The only downside was the food came out too slow for lunch, we were there 2 hours, but other than that excellent dining experience! I will definitely be back!!
Had a wonderful experience for a nice dinner celebrating a birthday. The table was decorated with a card and some birthday wishes from the manager and staff. Food and drinks were delicious. We loved the scallop and shrimp as well as the lobster tails. Bread was fresh and soft and the dessert was lit on fire to give it a nice show and taste. I even received a phone call a day later to ask about my experience which has never happened before. Definitely a place we will go back to.
By far the best dinning EXPERIENCE I’ve ever had. Our server(Riley) was top notch his attention to detail was extraordinary. Was then followed up by incredible drinks and food. Words cannot simply describe this experience. Can only hope I return to Dallas one day and this place will be top of the list to revisit
We had an amazing experience at Truluck’s in Dallas the other night. Our plans changed last minute and we ended up needing a table for a big group, which usually makes any restaurant cringe — but not here. Deshon was an absolute standout. He welcomed us like they’d been expecting us all along and coordinated everything so smoothly. Even the valet handled eight cars without any stress. That alone impressed everyone before we even walked in the door. Inside, the vibe was classy but comfortable — perfect for a group night out. The food was seriously good. The seafood was super fresh, the steaks were tender, and everyone at the table kept stealing bites off each other’s plates. The stone crab claws and the miso sea bass were favorites, and the sides were just as good. What really made the night, though, was the service. Deshon checked on us often, made great recommendations, and somehow kept everything perfectly timed even with such a large party. It never felt rushed or chaotic. Overall, Truluck’s made what could’ve been a stressful, last-minute group dinner feel easy and memorable. Great food, great atmosphere, and absolutely top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back — and we’ll be asking for Deshon again.
Service is more than outstanding!!! The food is exquisite and exceptional The dinning is a real experience here. The manager Bob makes sure you are taken care of and goes the extra mile to ensure you are having an excellent dinning experience. Shout out to Douglas!!! Douglas, you are the man! Best lobster Bisque and lamb chops !!!!!
I can't fully express what an amazing experience we had at Truluck's. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Shortly after being seated and served water, a waiter came by with a tray of lemons, cucumbers and limes, which was a lovely touch. We had the Ahi Tuna Tartare, which was light and bursting with flavor. For my entrée, I had the blue crab stuffed lobster tail; which melted in my mouth. The lobster bisque drizzled on top really brought everything together. To celebrate our anniversary, they brought out the baked Alaska, which was just as delicious and flavorful as the last two dishes. Sydney, our waitress was excellent. She was attentive, had great recommendations, and made sure to take care of us throughout the evening. We'd love to have her as our server again, she truly went above and beyond.
This is a very late review but I had to show love to what has become my fav restaurant! We were celebrating a birthday & they had bday decor & a card for him. We started /w the bread & I couldn’t stop eating it! The lamb chops & parmesan mashed potatoes were so good & filling, as well as the dessert. It’s ice cream so you wanna save room for that if your drive home isn’t quick. Our server checked in often, explained things well, & was personable. I also enjoyed the music & view. It wasn’t too loud but just right & intimate. I’m excited to bring loved ones back one day.
My first time here was last night, and was truly an amazing & unique dining experience. Our server was so knowledgeable, friendly & attentive. The seafood tasted fresh & loved the steak, sides, & carrot cake for dessert. The atmosphere is calm, professional, romantic, & enjoyable. Perfect for a date night or special occasion.
Excellent 5 stars all the way around. We were in town to celebrate my husband‘s birthday and had the best lunch at the McKinney St. location. I highly recommend the Sea-bass with crab fried rice. It was cooked to perfection! And the baked Alaska was to die for. Don’t forget the oysters with the house made champagne mignonette. Delicious!
My companion and I had a wonderful dinner experience before a DSO symphony performance just a short distance away. I only have dessert photos to share-which were amazing but so was my Ora King Salmon from New Zealand. Wow! Everyone is so nice, from the valet to the host ("lovely dress you're wearing tonight ma'am" 😍) to the waiter (dang I didn't get his name) who took great care of us (even took great pictures of us upon our request). We were upstairs in the quiet dining area, but I did cruise the bar on the first floor to use the ladies room. The place was hopping! Great vibe and live music!
Truluck’s on McKinney defines refined dining in Dallas. From the moment we arrived, the Service was attentive and impeccable. The menu is thoughtfully curated • Every dish beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was the perfect setting for a memorable date night. And as the sun sets, the view from the dining room transforms into the most breathtaking backdrop in the city. An evening here feels nothing short of extraordinary !!
My boyfriend and I visited Trulucks Dallas a couple days ago for my birthday. Absolutely amazing! The staff were pleasant, and friendly. The food was so delicious, and the drinks were great! The staff were friendly and wished me a happy birthday throughout the entire evening. The atmosphere was intimate, and relaxing. There was live music. Everything was perfect! Thank you all so much for a memorable evening.
Ate here with a tour group in a private dining room. Food was delicious. We had shrimp, crab cakes and meat balls as apetisers. Ceasar salad to start, followed by steak mignon that was melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. The restaurant area was buzzing and very much the place to go. Would definitely recommend it for any occasion.
Truluck’s is one of my favorite places to celebrate special occasions. The food is always incredibly fresh, and the service is consistently warm, attentive, and professional. The staff really makes you feel taken care of, which makes special days feel even more special. I always enjoy my time here and will definitely continue coming back for important celebrations.
(Dallas) Greeter very attentive to the needs of disabled patron and offered use of the elevator. Manager met us upstairs and we were delighted with birthday table decor/card. Our waiter, Jeffery, was attentive without hovering and the food....cooked and seasoned to perfection. Even the music Playlist was outstanding, can't go wrong with the 70s-80s era!! Very fine dining with a casual, upscale atmosphere...would definitely return. * previously attended a group gathering at this location with a pre-selected menu, this is the first with full range of service and menu options.
This was such a first class experience! It was my mom's birthday and she deserves the world! This was just a small token of my gratitude towards her and it was so cool to be able to gift this to her! Food was great and we were the only ones in the restaurant at that time.
We had an amazing dining experience at Truluck's Ocean's Finest Seafood and Crab. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with elegant décor and stunning blossom trees that make the space feel very special. The lobster bisque was exquisite, rich, and full of flavor. My husband had the steak and lobster and said it was fantastic. Even though the place looks upscale and more geared toward adults, they do offer a kids’ menu. Our kids ordered from the regular menu, and we were glad they did because it allowed us to share and try more dishes. I look forward to coming back to this special place with my husband next time we’re in Dallas.
Always a great time!! This restaurant is very elegant. It impresses with beautiful decor and delicious food...perfect for any occasion. The Live music and ambient lighting make for a romantic atmosphere. The service was also on point and the food portions were good. I will visit again the next time I am in town.
We went to Truluck’s for my boyfriend’s birthday date night and it was such a vibe. Everything was so fresh and delicious. He had the 22oz lobster tail with black truffle butter (obsessed), and I ordered the Asian Chilean sea bass ; literally perfect! We shared crab cakes and lobster bisque, and they surprised us with a complimentary Baked Alaska for his birthday, which was the cutest touch. The staff were so sweet and made the whole night feel special. Definitely a chic date-night spot 💖✨
The food was great! Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Good prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions. The food took a long time to come out however. Parking is ok, ohnestly we had a larger commercial vheicle that would not fit and we had to park blocks away and walk
This would have definitely been a five 5 experience, but a gentleman kept coming to the table to take our plates away. Finally, I gave in and told him to take it and box it up. The building and location are amazing! We were greeted with such warmth from the valet to the hostess, who you will see in the video. I shared with her my experience at their Woodlands location on the lake, so she decided to provide us with premium seating for some friendly competition. Dawn, our waitress was super! She provided great service and suggestions. Our food was so good. I can eat at Trulucks every day. They have a power lunch menu, so you are able to have 3 courses. Beware the portions are smaller, so if you're really hungry, you may want to order from the main menu. My team member ordered lobster bisque and the salmon with mashed potatoes. I ordered the chilean sea bass over crab fried rice and asparagus. Dessert: Carrot Cake, yes yess yess. This is a very good restaurant with the price tag to match if you're thinking more frugal. This may not be the best option for lunch. Our tab was $129 for lunch. I knew this when I arrived, but I really wanted the Sea Bass, so I didn't care.
I wanted it to be the best experience but it wasn’t the best. Very nice place, you can see some of Dallas skyscrapers through the glass which was very cool. Food was decent but some of our friends ordered steaks that were not fully cooked, therefore food had to be sent back, other than that everything was ok. Service was good, servers were very attentive, helpful and friendly.
I brought my coworkers here to celebrate a birthday and promotion, and I felt a bit underwhelmed at the experience. Our server Eric was very curt and brash. I expected better service for an establishment of this level, and everyone at the table felt like he did not want to serve us. However, when he disappeared for a while, another server helped us, and she was fantastic! They mixed in and out, so that helped some. For starters, we had the crab cake and calamari, both were tasty, but I loved the crab cake most. The size of the scallops were enormous, I was very pleased with the portion, but the mashed potatoes were bland. The vegan bolognese was terrific! I didn’t expect that to be my favorite side, but it was delicious; the entire table loved it. The second server brought us two complimentary baked Alaska’s to celebrate, so I appreciate that. Overall, it was an average dining experience. I’m hoping with improved service I will have a better experience if there is a next time.
Went here for my birthday recently. Atmosphere is very nice and they had great live music. Service was just okay, nothing to write home about, would have liked a bit more personalization. The food looked great, but tasted okay. One dish's presentation was not the best, a bit oily too. The drinks were strong and tasted very good. Overall I had a very high expectation of the place but the experience and the food was seriously just okay and that's really the best way I can describe it.
Our frequent place for anniversary. Sooo not memorable this time. No rose petals on the table. Hubby’s steak and frites were interesting. Couldn’t chew the steak - like leather - the waitress said they didn’t cut it right. She didn’t offer us anything else. My Seabass was warm, crab rice bland and crunchy, calamari soggy - Our cocktails were great, Clay the musician was amazing and free dessert was lovely. We were disappointed but hey we have been coming there about nine years and nobody bats a thousand. Maybe it’s time to try another spot.
My experience at Truluck's in Dallas fell short of expectations. We're regulars at the Austin Research location and have always received exceptional service there. However, for my boyfriend's birthday celebration in Dallas, we decided to give this branch a chance. The view from the restaurant was lovely, but unfortunately, there was a considerable wait for our food, understandable due to the bustling atmosphere. While the dishes were served hot and fresh, the creamed spinach lacked flavor, prompting me to return it. The most disappointing aspect of the evening was our waitress. Despite her warmth with other diners, she seemed distant and unfriendly towards our table. Neglecting to refresh our beverages and infrequent check-ins during our meal were noticeable letdowns, particularly on such a special occasion. Considering it was my boyfriend's birthday and we're accustomed to excellent service elsewhere, this was disheartening. Nonetheless, we did tip appropriately. Even valeting our car posed an issue as others who arrived after us received their vehicles first. Although the food was decent, the subpar service and valet experience leave us hesitant to return to this particular Truluck's location
I wasn't very impressed with the food. I ordered the meatballs and the tomatoe salad. The bacon was fried so hard to the point it tasted burnt, and the meatballs were also burnt, and for the price, the meatballs were too small, the service and the atmosphere were awesome. I have a shellfish allergy, and they were very good about making me comfortable protecting my issues. Everything else was pretty good. Both of my sisters enjoyed their meals so I just didn't want to complain about the food because I was celebrating their birthday's.
This was actually my favorite restaurant and had been for years. I’ve even been to the one in Houston. Stopped into Dallas for Happy Hour not too long ago and ordered the crab fried rice to go. needless to say, it was gross. The rice was cold and crunchy and they just threw the crab on top. I was very disappointed. I didn’t even eat the rice. I ended up throwing it away. I had never experienced such careless service. It was my favorite because of the attention they use to pay to the food. Idk if it’s because I’m a poc or what? Not sure what would possess them to give me such a terrible plate of food.
Update: Have been visited this place several times, but unfortunately, not that satisfied with the service tonight.. 1. 100% sure that we did not order the bread, yet it was brought to us twice and charged for it without our consent.. 2. Ordered a small tuna but a large portion was served instead. Have double-checked with the waiter before eating, and he confirmed it was the small size, only for us to be charged the price for the large portion. 3. I ordered one bao, but a pair of it was served and I was charged for twice. 4. Had to wait a long time to settle the bill due to the absence of a pen.
1st time, last time. Maybe I should have ordered steak at "Trueluck Cattleman's Steakhouse", but wait this is a seafood restaurant so why not order stone crab and Lobster Thermidor? First let's start off with the dinner rolls. They're basic sweet rolls, but kudos to the Baker, cause he/she knows. Secondly, the Caesar salad is nice. In walks the crab...Ive had better...a bit soggy, but sweet. Present the Thermidor! Main of the hour! Nope, oops, what's that smell? Cleaning supplies? I ask outloud, "did they drop this in a bucket of ammonia then serve it to us?" My partner says " You shouldn't say that", but I in my ignorance was simply posing a question I thought a genuine possibility. We tell the waitress who takes the dish, the "People" come to ask what problem we have, because they and the "chef" don't smell anything. Really? It was potent and your olfactory nerve is dead. So now I take google for a ride, because I don't know everything, but am on a lifelong journey to do so. Shoot! Ammonia, lobster. That's all you have to type. The meal was free... I hope no one gets ill from eating here and maybe Gordan Ramsey should visit. The chef and Manager should resign and work for Luby's where people can't smell or taste and most of the patrons have one foot in the grave already. All I can say is you wouldn't taste your wine before you sip it, smell your lobster before you eat it. Good "luck". Stay alive.
