We had the chicken katsu which was nice and crispy with tangy tonkatsu sauce and their BBQ chicken plate. Both were authentic local Hawaiian style.

Solid BBQ chicken and chicken katsu. Big portions. Food came out fast. They have Hawaiian Suns.

Pretty damn good i feel it slightly overpriced although they do offer the best quality food and services for the area with only one real competitor being a chain at the nearby strip mall all other Hawaiian bbq locations in the area are absolutely trash. the dine in experience is very cozy and nice as a cheff i truly enjoy eating in almost feels like your on a break at a restaurant but in a good way. its a small shop with character and pep super clean food well made and cooked to order i prefer this location as a local in comparison to many other Hawaiian bbq locations ive tried them all and this place is the best in daily city county as well as colma county by far the best priced for the quality and portions you receive as a chef this place is a must to add to your palette of culture and cuisine they also do events with extremely reasonable prices huge community support for that alone great business really

Very friendly. I was surprised to see two dishes that were included on their menu (1) Chili mix plate and (2)Kalua pork. Tough decision but, of couse I had to order the Kalua pork. Broke da mouth good brah!

This spot has been here for a while now, they are doing something right. Not sure if there has been change of ownership. Go to for my kids is chicken katsu, loco moco to share. Not sure if garlic shrimp is still available, go ask. Nice portions, All's good! 😁

Eh. It's Hawaiian BBQ. For those random bbq short ribs and macaroni salad cravings. They're pretty fast and good. Haven't had a bad batch yet. (Google maps made me post a review of my "visit yesterday". Ok Google, I was just in the parking lot, I didn't eat there yesterday. Why didn't you ask me to post when I actually went there all those other times? Can you Big Brother correctly?) If you're not from here and you can't find it, it's tucked at the corner of the tiny plaza where Walgreens is on Mission and San Pedro. Go inside the lot, and it's to the left of Walgreens, very corner, between the donut shop and nail salon. (Those two places are also a YES and a YES). Anyway, I do like this place. I'm biased though because this is my hood and I like most places around me. At least, no news of being dirty or any pest problems for them, so I'd say that's a big win!

Really friendly people working here. The food is surprisingly good for a hole in the wall. All your standard plate lunches with a few specials on weekends. The loco moco and katsu are both solid, as is the BBQ chicken. Avoid the malasadas - they're made fresh but the way they package them makes them soggy. Definitely a place I'd return to for lunch.

The food was okay Hawaiian. However, since I like the portion and taste of Hawaiian food I liked it here. The place was pretty cold and windy inside and they were playing a Christian gospel channel that we asked to be turned off so we could eat in peace.

This is one of those places where you really need to know what to order. It is not all equally good, so go for the top sellers according to their advice. Parking is almost impossible

The man at the counter refused to let me use the bathroom. He said, 'customers only'. I told him that I intended to order, but it's an emergency, and I need to use the bathroom FIRST. He refused. I pleaded. He refused again. I didn't have time to argue further and ran off to a nearby restaurant, apologized because I had no intention of ordering food there. They said no, but that's fair. Out of necessity, I urinated in a nearby bush behind the building. I will never go to Hawaiin Drive Inn again...unless they change their policy and trust their customers. I admit, I didn't have time to explain my health issues, but that's also irrelevant and none of their business. Perhaps they've been lied to before, who knows, but they should give people the benefit of the doubt. If they change their policy and apologize, I'll delete this review.
