I've been eating there for years. Food & service are always great.
We came in last minute last Friday night about an hour before close with 20 people and no reservation. They accommodated us perfectly, the service was excellent as was the food. I had Meatloaf which was fantastic. Others in our party had the Salmon, Salads, Mac And Cheese, Spare Ribs and Burgers. Everyone left full and happy. Thank you for taking such great care of us!!
Had a delicious grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Very friendly staff. No waiting to sit and the food was out quickly.
Food was great, large portions, strong coffee, delicious mimosas, and a great server! I'll be back the next time I'm in the San Francisco area
Oh shit. This place rocks. I dont write reviews unless im impressed or i feel the establishment has earned a review. Very friendly people first of all, attentive staff, great food, CLEAN place. I just discovered this while walking down the street because i was nearby BART. WILL RETURN. also, farmers scramble - add avocado.. it's fire 🔥🔥🔥
We were a big group. Great service. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. I'd visit again!
Hi Family good day if you’re looking for a good place to eat, I Would Recommend Blvd., Café. I I ordered the chicken salad and that chicken salad was off the hook one of the best salads I’ve had actually. So if you’re in the vicinity of Boulevard Café stop by and give it a taste and see if you like it. I think you’ll be pretty impressed. All right God bless.
What's better than solid comfort food, served hot and fast, by a friendly staff that always seems busy - but not too busy to ensure you're taken care of. The menu is simple, which I think is key to their execution ... who needs 12 pages of food choices, really? Nearby road construction and an awkward intersection right at the corner where the restaurant sits means you've got to be paying attention getting into the parking lot, but that effort is rewarded once you're eating. This nostalgic place has been here and operating since 1964 (when it started as a Lyons Coffee Shop & Restaurant) - the inerior has been made-over, but the exterior still evokes classic and cool mid-60s vibes. Good value, well-done food and great staff - totally worth a visit (or two)
Awesome old school kind of diner. Their scrambles are amazing & the employees are always friendly. I wish there was a Boulevard in Oakland!
The bar at the lounge has the best experience! The bartender (John) is very knowledge and has the best sense of humor. You'd never get wrong with his recommendations. I also noticed people who sat at the bar are the happiest people. Pro-tip: ask John for Ruby Rush and Pain Killer, those are now my new favorite!!!
It's not a bad place. classic American food. It's neither cheap nor expensive. It's suitable.
If you want to eat inside the bar on a Friday, the 5-6 PM hour is crowded, noisy and 3 bartenders + help isn't enough to keep up with demand. Don't get me wrong, they are polite and accommodating but they need more help during that time period. All 3 are busy just preparing drink orders! I was shocked they had time to tend to dinner orders.
Hidden gem in plain sight. Drove by this diner for years omw to the Original Joes in Westlake. Glad I gave this menu a chance. Corn beef hash did not disappoint and my service was top shelf. Shout out to my waiter Jose who knows how to hustle and be uber friendly at the same time. Cheers! Will def be back.
I went to eat here twice in the past month and I could not be more satisfied! The waiting time for a seat isn't that long, you'll be in your seat before you know it. The waiters/staff are very friendly and look happy to work there. The food and the presentation of it always amazes me. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for high quality food but don't want to blow your wallet! :)
The many times I've come here, never have I been disappointed. At this point for me, it's one of my top go to spots. There's always a table available, even a couple of times (before the pandemic) when I did have to wait it was no more than 15-20 minutes. The food is absolutely delicious. I've tried nearly everything here, and there's nothing I wouldn't recommend. I especially enjoy their avgolemono soup, their lamb chop entree and NY steak. Their menu is fantastic whether you're looking to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, everything here is delicious. The service is also pretty good, quite attentive, but during very busy times it can be spotty which is nothing against them since there's so many people to attend to. Overall, really great place. They also have a bar, which I haven't checked out but I'm assuming is pretty nice. Boulevard is definitely one of my favorites in the area.
I have a great experience every time I come here. The food is consistently great, the service is consistently great, and the ambiance is family friendly. Today my so and I got the "Eggs Florentine" and the "Chicken Fried Steak". Breakfast entrees come with hash browns, and a side of bread. Food can be made to order. We have been here a few times, and consistently have a great time. The gravy they make is good but different than the gravy I grew up eating. I like a basic sausage gravy. The gravy here is artisan in that it has an herb (sage +) flavor added, it is good and many people like it. I like it as well, but have a preference for more simple suasage gravy. I consistently see an assortment of people here from families, young adults getting brunch, and elderly out for a bite to eat. This place serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. They have a cocktail lounge attached. I have only been here for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Condiments: Ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, Cholula, Tapatio, Tabasco, assorted jellies and sweeteners. Breakfast is served until 2 pm.
I come here all the time, usually for their breakfast. Food always comes out absurdly fast and the portions are hugs. They are not exactly reinventing the wheel with their menu (classic diner staples with some Mexican dishes) but it’s always done excellently. The cocktails are amazing as well, they’re very large and strong but don’t taste too boozy. The Moose, the Bananas Foster French Toast, clams and linguine, and the salmon dinner are a must-try!
Boulevard is definitely a 5 Star experience, It’s moderately priced, But it’s worth the money you spend given the atmosphere, The quantity of food & Most importantly, the quality of the food.
At 5:30 pm on Friday we were able to get a table right away. The main room was a lot noisier than the lounge area, however, the better seating was in the main room with the wide windows. Our waiter was attentive and made great suggestions. I recommend the lamb and macaroni with jalapeños and bacon. The macaroni dish was enough for 2 people. The Watermelon and Pineapple alcoholic drinks (I forgot the names) were refreshing.
Indoor brunch 3/27/2021. Boulevard Cafe is a solid option for brunch. I had the St. Patty's eggs benedict $15 and a Bloody Mary $9. There's something special about breaking the egg and it flows down to the corned beef hash and the muffin on the bottom soaks it all up. As for the Bloody Mary, I wish it had more alcohol in it. It had a good amount of spice and a little piece celery, olive and onion to clear the palate. In terms of service, I was thoroughly impressed with their attention to detail and availability. Brunch was awesome today. Great job everyone! My total was $30 with tax and tip.
Went here for breakfast/brunch a few days while visiting the area. The inside is pretty open, which was a nice change from some of the restaurants we went to which had limited space. The food here is great, my favorite dish is the eggs Vincent. If there was one thing I would criticize, the staff wasn't always personable, but the food more than made up for it.
It's our go to date night place and where I bring out of town guests. They're always happy. The food is delicious and the drinks are great!
Looking for a nice place to eat on a late Sunday afternoon and came across the Boulevard Cafe. We were seated immediately and our waiter was right there to tell us about the day's specials. The wait staff was excellent and attentive, even kept our table clear of extra dishes. The 14 oz rib-eye steak was cooked as ordered and was tender, flavorful. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had the right amount of butter. The asparagus was grilled just right. My spouse had the Chicken Alfredo, the grilled chicken was perfect and the portion was more than we both expected to see. She loved the Alfredo sauce and it was just the right amount of sauce over the noodles. Finished with cappuccinos - excellent with a coffee bean on the saucer was a nice touch. Next time we are in the area, we certainty will return here.
We've been to this restaurant several times and are always pleased with the service and the food. This time, we had the New York steak, which was tender and flavorful, with garlic sautéed spinach, and seasoned crispy french fries. We also had the Tuna Melt on grilled 9-grain bread with jack and cheddar cheese, which is always good, as well as the generous portion of lightly crispy sweet potato fries (for $2 extra), and mixed greens salad with thinly sliced carrots and tangy vinaigrette dressing. The restaurant is bright and streamlined, with a beautiful starburst chandelier, vaulted asymmetrical ceiling, and plenty of seating. The booths are especially comfortable. We enjoy dining at Boulevard Cafe and highly recommend it!
We got the turkey club with regular fries and the tuna melt with onion rings. The meal came with free sourdough bread and butter too. Everything I ate was a diner classic, but done very well. Could be pricy if you come for dinner though. I will definitely come again when I want a great diner meal.
I've been going here since I was little. It's been a while since I've been here. The place was pretty busy as usual. Upon entering, it looks like the place recently had a remodel. The inside dining looks a lot bigger and the lighting is way brighter. The decor was simple and modern, but very inviting. We were greeted and seated right away. Once seated, we were immediately offered drinks and was given a few minutes prior to ordering. We ordered: 1. Country fried steak and eggs - The country fried steak was well battered and crispy. Hashbrowns were crispy and soft in the middle. 2. John Daly with no tomatoes - The scramble was hearty and flavorful. 3. Joe's special - Perfect balance of parmesan cheese, groud beef, spinach, and mushroom in every bite. This was pretty huge that I had food for later 4. 2x2x2 - Ham with scrambled eggs and pancakes. This came with a huge piece of ham. My only disappointment is I wish it came with hash browns. 5. Swedish pancakes - I loved the crunchy edges and the lingonberry butter. Honestly, this was more than enough. I ordered a side of bacon which I ended up sharing with the family The food here has always been good whether it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only downside is the parking lot is small and gets full fast. Highly recommend this place and haven't had anything here that I didn't like. Haven't been here in a long time. Typically, I go here for breakfast. This time around we had lunch. The menu looked a little thin, then I remember. 1. Calamari- Crispy and light 2. Special (spinach dip w/ cheese)- delicious and cheesy. Goes well with the chips provided and bread. 3. Jalapeno mac n cheese - cheesy goodness with the right amount of kick 4. BLT- pretty standard but bacon is delicious. 5. Chicken asiago- it's like a chicken parm with a side of pasta which is delicious. Typically we go for the country fried steak and eggs and corn beef hash. Which I recommend as well.
Boulevard Cafe is a nice stop with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Good shakes and entrees, the host was kind to go out of his way to set up outdoor seating since we had a dog. The waiter was very attentive and constantly came to check up on us outside. The calamari could be better but enjoyed the chicken piccata and bread pudding.
Good diner food in an iconic building located right off of 280. The Denver Scramble was decent but a truly impressive portion for the cost. I’ll happily come back for breakfast again.
My wife and I were visiting family and friends on a Saturday night. My wife had a Blue Moon and I had a Maker's Mark with a Coke. Both drinks were delicious. My wife had a meatball sub sandwich and I had fish and chips served with house salad. Both meals were very delicious. For dessert my wife had a slice of cheesecake and I had apple pie a la mode. Both desserts were delicious and not too sweet. It was busy for a Saturday night. And our party had some of the food come out before our drinks. Nice family style atmosphere though.
First time here, on a Sunday, wasn’t crowded at all. Dined in the lounge area to watch the football game, space is much more quieter than the main dining area. They alsohad a bar in the lounge which was lovely. Everything that we ordered listed below was beyond exceptional. I definitely will be coming back again. And all the staff there were all very nice and friendly. They do have a small parking lot but it does fill up fast.
My favorite go to place for special events, birthdays or holidays, any time I dare to try a new dish, it tastes so good, I keep coming back. My favorite is their virgin piña colada, a must try if you go here. The service is definitely one of my favorite parts, everyone is so nice, making the atmosphere elegant and classy.
One of the easiest 5 stars I've given. We came here for Saturday brunch. Everything was great here. The service was fast and the food came out quickly. We got the Moose, eggs Benedict and Swedish lingonberry pancakes. All 3 dishes were fantastic. Large portion sizes and great taste. Will definitely come again.

Our nephew was visiting from Las Vegas. This was our first time in Daly City ( after living in Norcal for 7 years). This place did not disappoint. No frills inside, but great service, very attentive. When they say "comfort food", they mean it. I had Moms meatloaf, wife and nephew had the 13 oz rib eye steak. Id come back again to try breakfast. Sunset view worth coming for.
Good restaurant. Although I preferred the old menu. And the parking is just terrible. With that said they definitely know how to cook meat. I had the perfect prime rib. The “chicken tortilla soup” was delicious, but they really need to rename it because it’s definitely not a tortilla soup. The Mediterranean chicken was well seasoned and very juicy
I've been to Boulevard a couple of times my family and have never been disappointed by their food. I wouldn't say it is my favorite, but the food isn't bad. Recently came here on Thanksgiving day so I could have lunch with family as we were not planning to gather for dinner. We did make a reservation, so we didn't really have to wait long at all. The restaurant was quite busy so I am pretty glad that we got there early. The menu is honestly pretty extensive and they serve breakfast until 2:00 p.m. I settled on my favorite chicken and waffle. Food comes out rather quickly I think after we ordered the food came out within 15 minutes. For my order of chicken and waffle you get one large waffle and half a bird which includes the breast, thigh, wing, and a leg. The flavor on the chicken was pretty good. The waffle was also quite fluffy. I ended up taking two pieces of chicken and a half the waffle home since it was quite a lot for brunch. Parking can be a little tricky because there are apartment complexes right behind the restaurant.
First time at this place and it was busy. Went for lunch and the atmosphere was cool..reminds me of Dennys, IHOP, Spires, Sharis etc, that type of feel. Ma was our server who was friendly, sweet and she can definitely multi-task. We ordered a Pizza appetizer and when it was served it looked like a personal pizza for one. We were too hangry we forgot to take a picc of it sorry lol. We ordered a Fried Chicken Entree and a Spaghetti & Meatball Entree. Loved the Fried Chicken which was nice crispy yet tender and juicy and the garlic fries reminded me of AT&T Stadium. The Meatballs was surprisingly good where it wasn't overseasoned and I could actually bite into it. The spaghetti sauce was a bit watery which I have yet to find a good sauce that's thick but adding fresh parmesan cheese to it definitely help thicken the sauce. You can never go wrong with the bread and butter so believe me when I say I tore up that bread with buttaaah hehehe. I also was surprised that our bill was only $53 and some change which was a good thing. As for Parking... the Lot isn't that big and it seems cars are all squished side by side where if you were big person and a passenger, you would have to wait for the driver to pull the car out to jump in unless you plan on sliding sideways and squeezing yourself in lol but other than that.... it was a nice place to check out. I gave it a 4 STAR.
First time to the restaurant. Came from the East bay and had a great dinner with my Mom. Had the lamb chops, calamari and tutto mare with white wine garlic sauce. Had orzo and steamed vegetables on the side. Everything was delicious and on point. Also enjoyed the appetizer- riblets with the sauce on the side- very good!!! Our server was Reimundo, very professional and friendly. He helped us choose items from the menu. Very nice. Thanks!! The only order that was a little lacking, is the tiramisu. It tasted not so fresh and the cream / sponge cake part tasted a little off. Also it tasted really sweet. Besides that, everything was very good. Restaurant is clean internal and external. Looking fwd to visit again!!! Thank you!!🥰
1st time at Blvd cafe. Seen the various iterations of this spot prior and I have to say this is an improvement. It was a nice atmosphere, the service was above average and the food was much better than anticipated.
The food was good and ready really fast! Despite being a little crowded the food got ready extremely fast. Our waiter was very friendly and on top of things all the time. I have heard that sometimes there's a waiting time for a table, but we didn't have to wait at all. The only thing that was not 5 stars was the parking situation. Their parking lot is a bit small and right next to big apartment buildings, making finding a parking stop challenging.
This is a busy diner type restaurant. Expect a line at peak times. Menu is quite large. Good breakfast selection as well as lunch and dinner. Service is quite efficient and the servers are friendly. Food quality appears to be good. I tried the souvlaki, which was large and tasty 😋. Nice artichoke dip appetizer and a delicious chocolate cake dessert with ice cream. They have beer too 🙏. It’s California so it’s not inexpensive.
The staff got our ridiculous to go order ready correctly and quickly . It’s a cute and clean place with lots of natural lighting . The parking isn’t great and I’m between some really busy streets . I feel like their menu has a lot of choices and they’re willing to accommodate any dietary restrictions . The chicken was moist and flavorful . My Sonoma salad was excellent . Great place for a second date or if u need to break up with someone in a safe well lit public venue .
I usually love eating here. The chicken picatta had skin on the chicken. I asked the server and manager if that's how they make it.... both replied "No". I'd say be sure your dish is done correctly, they don't seem interested in correcting it but you can let them know. Slightly dissatisfied compared to my frequent visits here.
It was very crowded despite the fact its computerized registered were down and they could only accept cash that day. We like Boulevard because they serve large portions, the food is tasty, plus it has a full bar in case you want a cocktail. Parking can be tricky because the lot often fills up.
Pick-up order was ready within 20 minutes, so that was nice. The place was much bigger than I had imagined, and was lively at 7:30pm on a November Saturday, and felt bright and warm, unlike the dimly lit and mildly cold exterior. The salmon was fairly good. As were the vegetables and the rice pilaf. I think I would prefer the rice pilaf to be slightly drier though. Anyway 4 ⭐ overall. Recommend.

I would recommend that’s this is good. The lunch is good and almost everything is good I really love the chicken tenders. They’re amazing. Except that long time for the food arrives
Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: Not a bad option for a hearty meal. Would I come back: If someone wanted to come here, yes. The extended review… Food: Lamb Chops - 3/5 - A decent portion with all the fixins for a complete meal. The taste was standard fare. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Definitely has that diner feel to it.
We came as a family of four and didn’t have to wait long for a table. The food was exactly what you’d expect from a classic diner! The service was friendly, and the entrance and cozy diner booths added a nice touch. We had the chicken tenders, country fried steak, and huevos rancheros — all tasty and satisfying!
Well, if you like a Googie style eatery they got you covered. If you like frozen reheated food they got your standard Sysco chicken fried steak, pancake mix and ok coffee. It tastes like every other cheap diner using Sysco products. If you like a bathroom that smells like a festival portapoddy after a week in the sun, check. Very off putting! Parking lot is a disaster, food mediocre and catching a server's eye was hard. The "Lounge" looks like a temp bar set up at a wedding. Great view from the lobby, but not enough to bring me back again. Good for a family with kids, but not a serious breakfast enthusiast.
Tried for the first time and had breakfast. Parking was tight but we got lucky with an open spot. Really nice interior with surrounding window views of the west lake area. Service was great. Very attentive waitress and you can tell she really listened when we ordered. Food not so great. Presentation disappointing. Look at the photos and tell me you’d pay almost $20 for each. Chicken fried steak was tough to chew. I expect it to be crunchy and moist. Gravy was too thick not runny, lacked flavor, and not enough covering the meat. Had to request extra. Eggs were over easy - at least they didn’t screw that up. We also had the hamburger eggs. Nothing to write home about. Toast wasn’t buttered like I had requested. Was charged $6 for a ‘large’ orange juice which was in the same cup size as the water. I wonder what a ‘regular’ orange juice looks like? Smooth jazz music overhead was competing with the ambient chatting noise it didn’t feel comfortable. Maybe they need a new sound system? Overall, we may decide to try something else next time. For now there are other places that can do better than Boulevard Cafe. Bill’s Cafe and Crepevine come to mind.

Pretty disappointed. over priced items. Small portions. Lukewarm soup.\nThe sign at the podium with all the rules is pretty rude and a turn off. Bathrooms were dirty as well. No reason to return.
I use to get our breakfast, but recently I notice the quality of the pancakes 🥞 and sizes of drinks, utensils are deficients. Chilaquiles no good cooked just raw salsa with hard chips. honestly others restaurants offer more quality of food, taste and sizes of drinks. The service is very good Always smiling 😃. Fast service, good vibes. Unfortunately I don't coming back, hard desicion but details matters for me.

Don’t order the eggs Benedict. They don’t know how to cook an egg. I order from here so much, that I’m literally watching the place degrade live. It seems it will be the last time I order from here as this has happened before. Thought it was a fluke, but it’s not. They’re just getting worse. Sorry boulevard cafe. You were once a gem.
I have been here for breakfast and lunch in the past; which were fine. However, a recent dinner on a Saturday night was not that great at least for two of us. Got a table for 5 near the back banquet room. About twenty minutes in, a large group ended up coming in and instead of having the table farther away from us, against the back wall - the staff sat them right next to our booth when they pushed the banquet doors open. Nobody else was sat in the room and would have been logistically better to put them on a table along the back wall. After ordering the calamari, it came out within three or so minutes. That was interestingly fast. The bread and butter was good. Two of us ordered the prime rib special while the others had a pasta dish, orzo/salmon and a salmon salad. The last three dishes mentioned were fine for the folks eating it, no complaints. However, the two prime rib specials were not that great. The loaded potatoes (without sour cream?) appeared overcooked, cold and couldn’t figure out if it was premade and sat in a hot box. The prime rib had a lot of fat and bland. Asparagus was crunchy. Those prime rib dinners were $50 each and certainly not worth it for that price. No salad came with it and didn’t know how crazy expensive it was until check came. Server should have potentially announced the price (would not have expected that high of price for the dish - see photo). I will not order that again. Unfortunately, the server never came by until after we had completed eating, and I didn’t get to order sour cream or perhaps, talk about the prime rib. When we paid our bill and looked at it closer, I realized that the mocktail (alcohol special drink without the alcohol) - we were charged the “alcohol price”, $14. It came in a small glass and one would think without alcohol, the price would be discounted. The bill was over $200 before the tip. Pricey. Will try dinner again, maybe….but will not order the prime rib, calamari and a mocktail. And ask about special costs and flag the server sooner for items and issues.
We live not far from the Boulevard Cafe and have enjoyed many meals there since they opened. It’s always been a reliable standard for our family. So it’s very disheartening and frustrating to experience such poor customer service from Boulevard Cafe staff on this occasion when it’s always been great. Normally we don’t go out for Thanksgiving. But we have multiple older family members who have difficulty getting up and down stairs. So going out to have a Thanksgiving lunch seemed like the easiest way for everyone to gather together. My mother called on Friday 11/21/25 to find out if they were open that day and what times were available to reserve a table for ten people. After conferring with our family, my mother called back an hour later and booked a reservation for 12pm. On 11/23, she called back to ask a question and confirm that the reservation was still on. The staff member on the phone informed her that there was no reservation and asked if we were given a confirmation number. My mother told this person that she wasn’t given one and asked what could be done to resolve this situation. The staff member said there was nothing to be done. They didn’t attempt to offer another day and time or provide any other resolution to try to fix the problem. This person just kept reiterating that it wasn’t their fault. Holidays are always hard to book for at restaurants. But this restaurant has been around for many years and it’s equally hard to believe that the Boulevard doesn’t have a good reservation system and policy in place, especially for busy times of the year like the holiday season. If this staff member had shown an ounce of empathy and attempted to fix the problem by trying to find an alternative day/time or tried to help correct this issue, this review wouldn’t exist. But it is apparent that the Boulevard takes its customers for granted and doesn’t that having front of house staff that can actually provide customer service matters. Do better.
