Opinions de The Copper Skillet Danville
WOW this place is amazing. And this post is 100% honesty AND definitely NOT in any way, shape or form a put down bc this place IS really great!Food and Service was awesome. My steak was"YUMMY" It is a small restaurant and you do have a wait if you don't make a reservation. Luckily I was a smart one. 😀 Also I like my space, and the 2 top table we were sat at was small, in a corner AND by the restrooms. (Let them know on the reservation NOT BY RESTROOM) just really couldn't enjoy ourselves as we hoped. As far as noise it is small so if you have hearing problems don't try to conversate bc the other person gets tired of hearing "huh", "what" and well you know. Also if you are strapped on cash, not the place for you. We just take so much a month to have a date night. Let's just say this took our whole date night fund. (Prices not on menu)Pretty fancy spot 🤑Kind of like "surprise" But really it is all around a great place. Loved the food. Also when you go buy a round for the cooks. They deserve it!! ❤️Also kind of feel bad for not leaving a bigger tip for our server. But I was broke after dinner. But if you go go early enough to have a walk around Danville KY. It's really pretty there.
My husband and I especially enjoyed the variety of sauces that are made in house. We also tried the calamari, surf and Turf grits, and Wagyu burger. The portions were great for the price point. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was great for date night.
First time visiting, Khary was our waiter he helped us navigate the menu and was very polite. His recommendations were on point with the cocktails, appetizers, entree, and desert. He even put on a fresh pot of coffee for us. To top it all off I forgot my credit card after a very long day of work and he ran outside to catch me as I was getting in my vehicle. I live far away so this was greatly appreciated, thank you again.
Copper & Oak in Danville is a great local spot that delivers exactly what you hope for. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it a comfortable place to grab a meal. We pass through here on our way to Bardstown, and have really fallen in love with Danville and the great little downtown! The highlight for me was the burger—it was really good, cooked perfectly, and hit the spot! The staff here are also very nice and friendly. Service was prompt, and everyone was helpful and welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for a reliable, tasty meal with a friendly face, Copper & Oak is a solid choice!
My first time here and I really enjoyed it. The decor is all wood and deep rich green paint, very comfortable. They have an extensive wine and bourbon list. If you can’t find a drink or a liquor or wine to suit you on that list then you’re just too picky. I settled for iced tea because I had to drive back home. The entrées are a little pricey, but not outrageous, and the descriptions on the menu sounded delicious. We got the calamari appetizer with the dip that comes with it, and it was very good. The breading was not quite as crisp as I like it, but it was flavorful with good seasoning. A good choice. I got the mushroom Swiss burger, which was huge, along with a side order of fries. I got the garlic aïoli dip for the fries and it was great. It seems that aïoli is a big thing on their menu because they have many different types. The burger was sloppy with all the cheese and mushrooms and sauce that was on it, but I’m not complaining! Truly excellent! This is not a place to zip in and out and figure to spend $5-10, it’s a place to go in, sit down and spend a while, and enjoy a truly excellent meal. And I should also mention that all of the staff were friendly and helpful, and our waitress did an outstanding job. Recommended!
Carter our server/bartender was amazing and very informative. He guided our choices with knowledge. He made very terrific cocktails as well. The food was beyond delicious and way over met our expectations. Farm to table, fresh, perfectly cooked (the chefs here are top tier). Prices are very fair for portions, quality, and choices Carter gave us the history of Copper and Oak, as well as the Italian restaurant next door which we will be back to visit. We highly recommend Copper and Oak for anyone.
We moved here from Florida at Christmas, and discovered this amazing gem of a restaurant on beautiful Main Street within the first week of our arrival. The food was amazing and the friendliness of the staff and servers was so welcoming in this sophisticated village tavern atmosphere that we determined to make Copper and Oak our homebase for all our dining celebrations! You can't miss with either lunch or dinner!! A great date night!
Five Stars for Copper and Oak! We were blown away by Copper and Oak—so much so that we came back again the very next day! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance, friendly service, and mouthwatering aromas let us know we were in for something special. The lunch menu is full of creative, flavor-packed dishes made with care and finesse. Each bite was better than the last! And the cocktails? Truly next-level—balanced, bold, and beautifully presented. This place is an absolute gem. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers consistently excellent food and drinks, Copper and Oak should be at the top of your list. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to go again!
If you are in or near Danville, KY looking for some authentic, made to order unique and specialties then this is a must stop. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming with plenty of seating and great music. The staff from owners to servers are very friendly and accommodating going above and beyond for their customers. The presentation of the food is beautiful and portion size is very generous. Experienced the Mahi Mahi and sweet and sour salad. All I can say is excellent
We came to Copper & Oak for my birthday. Michael was our server...and let me tell you if you want to have a spectacular experience, you MUST ask for him. First thing... appetizers. We had calamari and the coconut shrimp. The calamari had the PERFECT level of crunch and flavor. The taste of the shrimp blended masterfully into the Thai Chili sauce that comes with it. I had a blackberry Old Fashioned, made with Wild Turkey 101 and that was A+! My entree was the pair of Filets. To say it was good, is an understatement. The scallops were perfectly cooked, shrimp exquisitely flavored, and the richness of the garlic butter in combination with the steak deftly danced across my palate. All in all, the experience was better than I could have dreamed. You MUST come here. We will be back!
Eat here! If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food, you have to visit Copper and Oak. Hands down some of the best service we have ever had at a restaurant. Everyone greeted us when we walked in, every single person. Our server Michael was very kind, informative, and speedy. The food was amazing. We had steak with shrimp, coconut shrimp, and the friend provolone. For sides we had broccoli, Asparagus and red potatoes. This was hands down some of the best food we have had at a restaurant. We had some afternoon drinks which were delicious. You can tell the owners and the employees take pride in their work at this restaurant. The owner, Nate, even came over to speak with us and to tell us about the catering options. We loved this place so much we are going to have a private event there. I would drive several hours just to come to this restaurant. If you haven't come here, you should, or you'll be missing out.
Visited: Sunday, September 10, 2023 around 4:30pm. I highly recommend eating at Copper and Oak. It delivers on everything you are wanting from a restaurant that serves lunch, dinner and bar drinks. Brunch is only on Sundays from 11am - 2pm. They also have a Sunday special that you just can't beat for the price of everything that is offered. I will get a picture of the Sunday special the next time we visit. I was expecting the prices to be higher than what they were but everything was reasonably priced for me. I did hear them mention to the people in front of us that reservations started at 5:30pm. I'm not sure if reservations are a weekday kind of thing since this was our first visit at Copper and Oak. Our server (also the bartender) did such a fantastic job. We ordered the Fried Provolone, Bacon Jam Burger, and the Sweet & Sour Salad. From the bar we got a Lemon Drop Martini and a Long Island Iced Tea. Everything was PHENOMENAL! The inside is a nice cozy inviting environment. Beautifully decorated. I cannot wait to go back again.
C&O was once our favorite restaurant in the Bluegrass. We’ve lived in Florida the last 2 1/2.. so on our way back from Russell Springs to Lexington we had to stop. Robbie was the highlight of the evening. He made our family feel so welcomed and entertained us with his humor all night. We were disappointed that they no longer off the lunch menu for dinner.. in my opinion the Burgers 🍔 are what makes the restaurant. I enjoyed the Wagyu Burger.. we miss this place but enjoyed it one more time.. definitely a recommend
Some of the best fries in the area, you should go try them out. We got burgers, some modification on one and it was perfect. Mom liked the sliders with the caramelized onions. Burgers are stacked patties, pretty tasty overall. Staff was excellent and very friendly for a nice Saturday lunch visit. Would recommend.
We ran across this little gem while visiting Centre college. Tried the brunch, and let me tell you, everything was delicious. I had the crab cake Benedict which was cooked perfectly. Velvety yellow yolks on a bed of crispy and well portioned crab cake. My son had the breakfast burger, which was a huge hit. The sausage in the meat was a favorite call out for a teenage boy. And I cannot end the review without a mention of the blackberry old fashion. Made with knob Creek rye and an in house blackberry puree, it is not to be missed. With the family coming back in a few weeks, we will certainly be back. Oh and before I forget, the bunches also have bottomless bloody Marys and mimosas from 10am - 2:30. Come early and get your fill. Enjoy all!
I came throw because of the good reviews . Place was not full only 2 tables were busy . I asked where can I sit server said on the bar although so many chairs were empty then I ordered the grill burger with sweet potato fries , bun was cold and chicken was hot while fries are too salty .. to me it’s not a good food .. food scene here seems not that great in this town .
Wow I’m in aww that they consider themselves anything the burger was so pathetic. The last time we ate there during Christmas it was sooooooo bad! The service was fine but then again you bring somebody a fried green tomato. That’s not even a half an inch thick and just riddled with oil no crust on it.😳 Everything they brought out seems burnt to me. when you ask, what about the noise level I would say zero because there was only four people in there and if you can’t serve somebody good food with four Then that’s quite disturbing😜 And they should listen to a customer spending money in there that what’s going on why is your food horrible obviously they don’t have good cooks. They’re not showing Yesterday‘s food shame shame shame!!!!! And God forbid you go in old you get the same table by the register in the trashcan. God forbid you get a decent table when you tip 30% and you spend money God forbid you’re old.!! and I’ve read other reviews where they want to charge $20 if you bring in a cake for her birthday what and they show pictures of their burgers and you think that’s what you’re getting. That’s not what we got. I’m so upset I didn’t take a picture of the burger no one would believe me that McDonald’s would be a better choice
Walked in tonight (4:15PM) and was seated in a far corner... there was maybe 6 tables with actual people and a couple at the bar. We sat for over 15 minutes with no acknowledgement or hey I'll be right there, etc. It was our first time there and at $25+ a pop I would expect much better service. We got up and left without even the slightest peep from anyone. If your real hungry I suggest you go elsewhere.
