My wife got the bbq plate and it was solid, but where they really shine are the burgers. I audibly moaned when I took my first bite of the smoked garlic jalapeño burger. It was ridiculous! The vinegar (cowboy) slaw was great and the homemade chips were tasty as well. Cool atmosphere but we're gonna go back some evening and see how it is at night. I also tried one of the hell burgers. If the waitress offers you milk up front, TAKE IT. Don't wait until you're in the depths of Gehenna as I did. The cool thing is that while the burger was insanely hot (they use ghost chili and make you sign a waiver), it was still really tasty. My biggest regret is having lived in Wise county for over a year now and just going in there today. We have some making up to do!

Always enjoyed going to roosters. My blackened chicken bowl was very filling. They had just the right amount of chicken, rice, and corn. Took granddaughter and family out to Roosters for her graduating RN celebration. Had to wait a bit but it was worth it. Only my second trip to Roosters. It is so good. There Bloody Mary's are the best ever too.

We always visit, and I mean ALWAYS, Sweetipie’s but decided to give Rooster’s one good try. We were not disappointed! We were seated immediately and our orders were taken to the kitchen promptly. The food took less than half an hour to receive despite the busyness of Friday lunch rush. We started off with a half-order of bacon cheese fries which were soooo good! They are served with ranch. I ordered a patty melt since it was starred on the menu as a favorite. It was amazing, the sweet caramelization of cooked onion topped a cheeseburger and had a delicious sauce. I could only finish half the sandwich, it’s huge. It comes with homemade chips, they were actually better than I was expecting. My kiddo had the Texas sliders (kid’s meal comes with 2 sliders and the adult slider meal comes with 3). Hubby ordered a meat plate, which I thought was just okay. The sausage piece I sampled from his plate was over-cooked and tasted like it had been reheated because it was too chewy (like it gets when you microwave something too many times). I’m picky about smoked meat though, so I don’t order unless I see it being smoked in front of me (ie Hard Eight). I do have a few cons to point out, but I didn’t deduct stars since overall it was an enjoyable visit. Our server didn’t keep our drinks full; however, she did walk over after we had our food to ask if we needed anything. Also, she didn’t offer to-go boxes even when she noticed how much food we had leftover. We really had a lot leftover, my half sandwich, my child’s slider and fries, and my husband brisket plus my chips. Plenty of food to take home for later!! There is a bar so if you are looking for a Date Night idea, perhaps Rooster’s would be a spot to try in the evening hours.

Decided to stop at a local place on the way back to Oklahoma. This place was great. Workers were nice and gave good service. The Rooster tails we're a great app and the BBQ sandwiches we're good with a slightly spicy sauce. Homemade chips we're good to. Very pleased with our decision to stop and try it.

Visiting the area for a family Wedding and found this awesome. AweSOmE place!!! We were there at lunch hour and they were rightfully busy, OHHhh SO GOOD!!!!! We shared the Kings Sandwich and it was HUGE and one of the best burger concoctions that we EVER HAD!! Fresh ground beef, stacked high with pulled pork PLUS brisket!!!!! Home made chips completed the goodness. You will leave satisfied and looking forward to the next visit. Full bar as well with craft beers too!!!

Really wonderful lunch spot!! Everything we had was fresh and fast. Cuban and turkey sandwich were awesome and came with fresh delicious chips. We would drive out of our way to return here. Beautiful courthouse square too.

Yummy! Laid back environment with a casual fare. We enjoyed the Redneck Sushi to start, super good and have been recreating them at home. Then shared the Big A Burger, this monstrosity is served between two grilled cheeses with all the fixings and accompanied by fries. Service was subpar at best.

I went to the Roosters in Denton and wasn't overly impressed so I was hesitant to try it again, I am glad I did! This location had great service, fresh food and a fun atmosphere. The only drawback for me is that they no longer have the hell sauce... Will definitely be back!

Absolutely phenomenal. The service, even on an Easter Sunday, was on point. The waiter was busy but was still attentive and helpful. The food was the perfect blend of temperature and flavor. BBQ sauce was perfectly spicy, and the sliced brisket was great. I highly recommend the Rooster Tails as well. We will most certainly be coming back!

Nice place right on the town Square you can eat and have a view of the courthouse. Really nice interior signs, graffiti/signatures on the wall. Menu includes the brisket plates and salads. I ordered the sliced biscuit it was good with sides all three were excellent the fried okra black beans and rice and Cowboy slaw. The service was excellent!!

Great atmosphere for a bbq place. Great location in downtown Decatur. Texas red chili was fantastic. Served in a small jar with crackers topped with cheese and onion. The brisket burger was outstanding. Probably the best brisket I've had. Homemade chips went well with it. The peach cobbler and ice cream was good very nice spice and crust

Very good food. The fried pickles left a bit to be desired (to salty tbh) but the brisket nachos and the cockeyed mango lemonade were heavenly! Very friendly service and helpful waitress! Also great little view upstairs of the downtown area. Also has a small pool table area

Nice bar dining room place. There are 3 pool tables in the back with additional seating upstairs. I tried the rooster tails, which are fried onion strips. Wonderful flavor, better than the big chain blossoms. The chicken strips are generous portions, a little pepper forward for me, but I am not a huge pepper fan. Good crispy fries. The banana pudding was really good also.

Found this little gem with great barbecue, brisket was super tender, and the sausage was really good as well. What’s friendly great staff! Jen & Karley are the best!!!

Small, fun, bar-type atmosphere that has serve-yourself peanuts. I gave the service four stars because it's kinda slow, and the gal didn't really seem to know the menu...or care...but SUPER friendly and helpful! Food was great. I had the 1-meat. I was hungry when I got there, and it was PLENTY to eat! We also had their funny titled onion "rings". Basically a Bloomin' Onion from Outback.

Delicious smoked meats and steak fingers melt in your mouth. Excellent drink specials each day. Very friendly service and fun laid back atmosphere. So glad we stopped in!

Obsessed. From the red acrylic chandeliers to the impressive variety of taxidermy (with and without hats), there is so much to entertain the eye. The drink specials are killer and the food is so good! If you want a bar vibe, sit at the bar. Booth? Got those. Tables, naturally. What about an upstairs bar? Check. Outdoor seating? Done. Oh, what’s that? You’d really like to shoot some pool? Say less, it’s in the back.

Best meal i have eaten in 5 years! I have been sick since I got Meningitis and eating a meal at your place and atmosphere made me very. Happy. The Brisket and Roster Tails were wonderful. My girlfriend doesn't eat onions and she ate them like they were candy. The server we had was great. She was attentive and a lot of fun. If you didn't get my answer this place is the place to go.

We showed up on late Saturday afternoon at shift change which can be difficult for some places. Our server Jennifer explained the situation just as we were beginning to wonder if we would be waited on and she knocked it out of the park with her smile and friendliness. Even when a screaming child scared off at least 6 customers, the staff kept their cool and their smiles offering them cherries 🍒 to hold them over and the crying stopped. We will definitely return!

Rooster's has become a favorite spot of mine in Decatur. The food is always hot & fresh and the service is always quick & friendly. And the prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants these days. I recommend the brisket hash bowl, but everything is good here.

We had our dog with us and were looking for a patio to eat. We called and they said they had one so we went. At first we could not find it, so my husband tried the Roosters door in the back. Holy Jeans!!! There is a huge indoor patio that is dog friendly. It was amazing especially since it was freezing out that day! Daily drink specials and yummy food! Highly recommend especially if you have a dog!

This funky little place on the square in Decatur had a fun vibe to it. Everyone was very inviting and made us feel at welcome. Our waitress was very friendly (I wish I'd caught her name). EXCELLENT FOOD COOL TEXAS VIBE My wife and I dropped by for lunch early JUN 2025. The hostess seemed a bit confused/stressed but managed to get us a table. The decor and vibe of this restaurant is absolutely nice. The menu offers many exciting options including a daily speciel. So very satisfying. Our server was quite new, it seemed. He did not know what the daily special was, and he forgot my wife’s drink order. Later he served our dishes, and he got me the wrong side order. So room for a little improvement, but I also understand the need for people to get trained. Overall a very excellent experience. A must visit when in town or nearby.

The big pieces of chicken fried bacon in the salad are beyond delicious! The atmosphere with its free peanuts is great. Service is excellent with reasonable prices! A total gem! * Great & Friendly Service! * Great Environment & Atmosphere! * Delicious High Quality Food! Highly recommend the Redneck Sushi if you want BBQ brisket with a twist, it's complimented well with a horse radish based sauce that is great! All Beef is lean, tender and packed with flavor. Their menu is fairly large. If you have a large appetite try your hand at the Triple Decker King Brisket! If you're in the road and looking to get out of typical fast food and want to experience a local dive. This is definitely one for the books!

Chicken fried steak is much better than the place across the street (it’s actually a steak). Really do prefer mashed tatters with it it came with French fries they were fine. Good friendly service.

I like the atmosphere, and the food is good, but you have to order fries separately for an additional fee. Everything only comes with potato chips. Prices are good, usually busy, but not much of a wait I'd any. Lots of alcoholic drink choices. Parking on square is a hazard, but lots of parking available around the square area with easy walk.

The atmospher was not busy as we were their first customers for lunch. We caught a open booth downstairs which was good bcz we had a sleepy 3 yr old and a couple of disabled seniors. Food was decent but small portions and was like a burger made at home. But the service was excellent. Will give them another try.

Food was good. Service was bad. We would sit for large amounts of time with no menu, no drinks, no water, no silverware, no one checking on us at all. We saw the waitress(es) standing around talking (which normally I don't mind), so we knew they weren't too busy. I think maybe they forgot us or were new. The food was really cool.

Wife had the country fried steak was bland but the okra was real good. I had the smoked garlic jalapeño bacon cheddar burger, that burger was one of the best burgers I've had. I will definitely be back to try there other burgers. I tried the hell burger last...No... it was extremely 🔥 which I expected but the flavor was not good. After sweating my butt off and the wife asking me if I was OK for 10 min I recovered. Wish the flavor was there with the spice but it wasn't. Again the food was very easy on the wallet. Well worth the visit.

First time coming here. Had the Red Neck Sushi, burgers, fish sandwich and nachos. All of the food was good. The wait staff was fast and friendly. They had good iced tea and all of us left full. We will consider coming back next time we are in Decatur.

Great little lunch spot. Good food, good service in a very old building. The variety on the menu was a nice surprise but definitely pub style food. I had the "Damn Good Fish Sandwich" and it WAS a good fish sandwich, but it was fried Tilapia and not Cod so not what I had hoped for but it was tasty and the fish was huge over the bun. I would have preferred to sit downstairs as I have bad knees so I do feel like like they should ask older patrons if they have a preference of upstairs or downstairs seating. I would visit again.

Visiting the area from out of town and had dinner at this little gem. Sort of a dark saloon atmosphere but the service was great and the food was good for the price. The fried pickles, and the onion petals (rooster tails) are wonderful. Despite the 10-12" blonde hair I pulled out of a fresh cup of ranch, it was wonderful as well and I ate it anyway. Hard to blame or control something like that. All in all, not that my opinion matters but I would dine there again.

Very cute and country style Texas BBQ restaurant! When you have chance to come here you can try it, just in front of Wise County Court a castle looking historic building. Food is average good.

Service is usually decent, though you can catch them on an off day. I really want to love this place since it's the local spot and the only place in town to grab a drink and shoot some pool. But the food’s been pretty disappointing so far. I’ve tried four items—three of them fried—and honestly, those were hard to eat. Super greasy (like sitting in pools of oil) and overly salty. Maybe the rest of the menu is better, but the fried stuff isn’t it. As for the bar staff, it's hit or miss. Some bartenders are genuinely great and make the place feel welcoming, while others... let’s just say they act like they’re doing you a favor. Pool tables could use serious work. It’s a cramped little room with three tables shoved too close together. Still, it's fun enough to shoot a couple $2 games if you’re just looking to kill time. In short: It’s convenient, and that’s probably its biggest strength. If another pool spot opened up, I’d probably check it out. But for now, it’s the only game in town.

BLT- Bread was Saturated in butter. The bacon was not fully cooked and was very greasy. Brisket Sandwich - Bread saturated in butter. Small amount of brisket. Not enough for the size of the bread. No sauce so it was very dry. Fries were Great

Our server was not friendly and not very attentive. The food wasn't bad. The drinks weren't the best either. Actually they need a new bartender who knows how to make a good drink. It was all just kinda mediocre. First visit here and not impressed.

Had lunch there today. Atmosphere and staff were great. The food is mediocre. Food tastes like something you would get after drinking and being at the club. I would not go back. We loved our waitress, she was amazing.

The food was okay, fries tasted good but then you got a mouthful of salt halfway through eating them. I got a burger and it honestly didn’t taste that good and was also really salty! The waitress was so nice though and it was a very cool looking place overall. Just I don’t recommend the burgers personally. + we got our food really fast too!

I ordered the brisket Mac n cheese and it was just wet, greasy noodles with no cheese and brisket on top.. I was told by the waitress that the French fries were stellar but they were nothing special and had no salt / flavoring. Service was great they took the “Mac n cheese” away and off the bill and gave me something new. Great service, mid food

Terrible food. This was the driest brisket that I have every eaten! The vegetables were very good but not the meat. My wife's sandwich was very dry and tasteless. My friend ordered chocolate pie. It arrived in a cup and was nothing more than chocolate pudding with Cool Whip on it. Terrible!

So the food was excellent. When I got the bill I was upset. We told the server we wanted the onion strips instead of chips. Well she failed to tell us that was an xtra charge per mail which jacked up the bill. That wasn’t right.

From the get go, our waitress was impatient and obviously inconvenienced when we explained to her we have a handicapped family member with us, so we could not eat upstairs since it was not wheelchair accessible. After being seated, we were shifting the wheelchair and the waitress rolled her eyes and walked away rather than waiting the 15 seconds to take our drinks orders. She then didn’t come back until nearly 10 minutes. My sliced pork sandwich came out: unseasoned, mainly fat, and messy. Not impressed whatsoever.

The food was terrible, it was all cold. The pulled pork and brisket were dry. They charge you 3 dollars extra if you want fries instead of chips. Do not recommend this place.

Food came out cold. Like it's been sitting in the back for a while waiting on someone to order it. Fries were old and stale with no taste. My Daughter's mac and cheese was so dry. It looked like colored noodles. The pull pork nachos was 🚮🚮. Pork was cold and hard. The jalapeno peppers were dried out. The buffalo wings were not hot at all. No spice whatsoever. I will not be coming back to this place ever again.

My family and I went in for the first time and we had our waitress help us 2 time out of the whole time being there minus getting the bill. The teas were horrible watered down didn't even taste like tea. My son's sprite tasted so bad he wouldn't even drink it. Tells you alot because he's 4 an loves sprite. They charge you extra for fries or tots if you don't want chips with a sandwich. It wasn't what were expecting.we asked for a new drink an they charged us for it an it still tasted the same. We won't be back. The great reviews on here must be from people drinking be cause they put more attention an love into that than their restaurant guest it seems like.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We came in Friday night around 9 PM and the place was a little busy but not overwhelmed. Once we were seated it took about 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order and once our drink order was taken, it took about 15 minutes to actually get drinks. Once we ordered food, it took about 45 minutes for the food to come out and everything was cold like it had just been sitting in the back for a while. We didn’t bother saying anything because we just wanted to get out of there. No one came and checked on us for a good 15 or 20 minutes after our food was brought out and then took them another 15 minutes to close us out once we gave them our credit cards. Overall, very disappointing. I would not recommend if you’re in Decatur.
