Enjoyed our brunch as usual. No line and food were ready within 15 mins. Ordered my usual Ultimate Benediction. Runny yolk on all my poached eggs which are delicious. Well seasoned hollandaise sauce. Apple pancake - Iconic dish due to its puffy, caramelized apples with cinnamon sugar glazed. Must try dish and you won’t regret it. Staff/servers were all attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an excellent breakfast brunch experience.
*back three days later to try the bacon…. Holy crap this is great. This place makes the food you like… much better than other options around. 🤘🏼 This place makes excellent food. The employees seem great, friendly. Everything on the plate was delicious and cooked right. I can’t remember feeling this way about a breakfast restaurant. It’s 5 stars 🤯🕺🏻
Richard Walker’s Pancake House in Del Mar is fantastic! The hash was one of the best I’ve ever eaten — perfectly seasoned and delicious. The eggs and hash browns were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. And of course, the pancakes were light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious! The location in the Flower Hill Promenade is very convenient to I-5, making it an easy stop whether you’re heading north or south. Highly recommend stopping here for a great breakfast!
Morning folks, yes, this is the spot for breakfast. The service was great. The gentlemen serving us were kind and friendly and very patient. Get the hot chocolate for the kids and take a few sips. Trust me, it is SOOO GOOD. There are headlamps outside, so you get birds serenading you while you eat. Eggs Benedict are done so well. Poll and waffles with the raspberry sauce pair so well. Coffee is always hot and ready. Have yourself a day. I'm definitely going back.
There are many locations around San Diego but this is my favorite one. Located on Via de la Valle in the Flower Hill Promenade just off the highway near Milton‘s. I’ve been coming to this shopping center since I was a kid and feel that Richard Walker’s is a great addition to it. We did not have to wait at all for our Saturday brunch, even though it was quite crowded when we arrived. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and many different seating options from booth to table. They have a very large menu that is focused on pancakes, but honestly everything we saw being delivered around us looked great as well. Our server was very polite and all of our items came out quickly. Being attached to Flower Hill there was plenty of parking, but depending on when you go it may be quite busy, but you will definitely find a space. For my meal I chose the California Benedict, which is basically a traditional Benedict with avocado on it and honestly I loved it. The hashbrowns on the side were great and the coffee I had during the meal was strong and tasty. I also feel the portion sizes are very large and the pricing is fair so it’s easy to suggest this place to anyone. My parents live very close by so I definitely plan to be back many times in the future.
Huge portions. I liked my thick bacon. They serve a mean 😊 hash brown. More of a Large sized servings than a large sized flavor.
Service was great and very welcoming atmosphere. The food was sooo good! I do recommend the Dutch baby and the pumpkin pancakes 🥞. Definitely will find myself coming here.
Great breakfast at Richard Walker’s in Via de la Valle. We sat on the dog friendly patio and ate the Santa Fe French toast, banana pancakes, Turkey Pattie’s with eggs, and corned beef hash with a side of 3 buttermilk pancakes. Everything was delicious, and the service was very good with the food coming out quickly. In a nice shopping center you can walk around in after. Was a busy Saturday morning and didn’t need to wait too long without a reservation. Recommend!
I think we found our favorite local spot for pancakes. The Granny Smith Apple Cakes with Pecans added were incredible. Coffee excellent and bacon is decent. Hash-browns are buttery and divine, highly recommended. They have a “birthday cake” pancake special for kids, but Jasmine said it tasted like bread and not that great, so probably won't order that again. Still, the experience was near perfect and the service was wonderful.
Richard Walker's Pancake House is a cafe in the Flower Hill shopping center in Del Mar. There are options to sit both indoor and outdoor, with both atmospheres being quite nice. There is a large selection of pancakes, waffles, omelettes, and other breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and attentive, while not being too overbearing. The corned beef hash is a favorite, as well as the strawberry waffle. Just be aware that a side of bacon can be a bit pricey. Overall, the experience is quite a nice place for breakfast, and is usually not too busy on the weekday, but the wait is not too bad on the weekends.
A great place to start your day with breakfast here. They serve up one of the best breakfasts I've had in Southern California. Before making our way back to L.A. decided to stop by and give their breakfast a try. I ordered their corned beef hash which was amazingly delicious the way they prepared with onions and grilled it to a devine crispy perfection of their very own. Along with a side of Hash browns 2 eggs over easy and a glass of freshly squeezed OJ, completed my meal. My wife ordered the same just with 2 scrambled eggs and a side of wheat toast which was accompanied by whipped butter, and a raspberry jelly. Our daughter ordered their chocolate pancakes with a side of bacon. Everything was delicious and our server was extremely attentive. Service was excellent and friendly. Clean and organized. Once again I could give them 10 🌟s, however will with a glad heart drop 5🌟s for this review.
Even though it’s a pancake house, you can’t go wrong with the French Toast. I got the San Diego French Toast and it was top notch, loaded with lots of fruit as well. The only downside is it’s hard to locate from the street and parking in that retail place is a pain. The French toast is superb.
Delicious food and plenty of it! Two dishes and a side was enough for three.

My husband and I absolutely love taking our family and friends to Richard Walkers. Morgan and Louis our waiters are always so attentive to our needs and go above and beyond to insure we leave happy! We greatly appreciate your service and delicious pancakes cooked to perfection! I would highly recommend Richard Walkers and ask to sit in Morgan’s section she is such an amazing waitress! Thank you Richard Walker’s Del Mar staff you truly provide exceptional customer service!
Honestly, what a rare find. The food was excellent, and the coffee hit the spot. The eggs were cooked exactly how we asked, and the sausage links were the best I’ve had in years, no exaggeration. The place has a simple, no-nonsense atmosphere, but there’s thought behind it. Pancakes were fluffy, gravy was rich and flavorful. Only miss was the biscuits, a bit too dry for my taste. Still, this meal reminds what good cooking actually tastes like.
The food was really good. It was fresh with organic ingredients. Very very good quality food and it just tasted so delicious. They served us our drinks (Orange Juice) immediately while we waited with a side of fresh water. The orange juice was freshly squeezed so it nearly knocked me off my feet with its incredible kick lol. The atmosphere was very calm and peaceful. You can eat inside or outside but me and my partner chose to eat outside which felt more exclusive. All in all we both loved it and plan on returning when we are visiting Oceanside again.

Great, friendly service. Our drinks were never empty. Hot chocolate was delicious. Food was fantastic and they are huge portions. You won’t leave here hungry. If we lived in the area, this would most definitely be our breakfast spot.

Service: Fast, frequent, and friendly. we didn’t need to wait to sit down maybe because we went at a non busy hours (Friday at noon and then again Saturday at 1:15PM). The server came several times to refill our coffee cups. We didn’t have wait too long for our food. If you order baked pancakes, it is usually a 20-minutes cook time. It was written on the menu as well. Food and drink: I would recommend any of the baked pancakes. The Danish Harvest pancake was savory and cheesy with crunchy crust. The German pancake was puffy and tasty with fresh lemon squeezed and sugar powder. We also liked the classic egg benedict. Personally I would skip the avacado toast which tasted bland. It needed some salt or seasoning. Same goes for the baked omelette.

Food is just ok -- for a pancake house we expected phenomenal pancakes and theirs are dry or gooey on the inside (we had both versions, so no consistency). Meh. The omelette was extremely dry and you can see how brown it was on the outside. Corned beef hash wasn't cooked through -- I could have specified to do that, but.... We didn't complain to the server though-- her service was top notch, she was great with coffee refills. Not returning, sorry Richard! 😂🙏🏻❤️

It was my first time at this place. I got tricked by their awesome marketing material and didn't realise it was a restaurant chain. And it definitely tasted like it :( Not real maple syrup, white sugar, normal table salt, tasteless meals, average waffles. If you like fast and unhealthy food, then your taste buds are going to be happy, and I definitely recommend it. I gave it a couple of stars because the service was kind enough to get me some honey to be able to eat my dry waffle
First time visiting this place with a friend. Did get a table right away and received ice water from the person who seated us. 1 of the glasses was dirty had food on the outside so when waitress showed up I asked her if we can get a cup without food on it. She said yes, can I take your order.... not even "I'm Sorry". Anyways I ordered strawberry crepes with fruit on the side. I got the fruit on side but no powder sugar on the crepes. They lacked flavor I was not impressed at all. I will say the consistency was spot on just needed to have flavor. Maybe a little more on the sweet side. My friend had pancakes side of hash browns which they were very good nice and crispy but pancakes lacked flavor and dry. Pricing not bad. I wonder if maybe other products would be good. Oh and just to top off the waitress never returned to ask if we were okay. I had empty glasses and I had to ask bus boy to please find my waitress to give us our check. Not impressed at all. Sorry. Was hoping for more in Del Mar.

Food is not good. Ordered eggs over medium and twice they brought the wrong eggs. Corn beef hash is sour and pancakes were like raw dough. They are not afraid to charge 20-30 per plate of eggs but the quality or taste don’t match. Waiter was very nice, I let him know but I don’t think he’s allowed to do anything about it. Too bad I really wanted to like that place
