Shanahan's Steakhouse

Shanahan's is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. If you want a good meal and good service at that higher end of quality you should definitely go here. I've been there multiple times and at that price point that's really saying a lot because I love trying new things. I've probably been to thousands of restaurants in my lifetime. So if I'm revisiting even once that's quite the testament to the level of quality. One thing I love about Shanahan's is you are going to receive that high level of care and quality regardless of who you are. Sometimes I feel like I need to tell people that I'm going to review my experience to receive the quality of care and service that I deserve. That we all deserve. But you don't need to toot your own horn when you go into Shanahan's. They treat everyone exactly the same which is wonderfully. I think sometimes because I'm a little younger people assume I might not have the money for the bill or the tip which is hilarious. And by the way I usually tip 30% to 40%. So not only do I have the money for the bill but I'm ready for a large tip as well. But I don't always get that quality of service. I love Shanahan's because of how they treat me but also because of the food. I've never had a morsel of food that wasn't delectable from them. And they go above and beyond with crumb wiping and table service. I almost feel bad because it's like unnecessary haha. But it's also fun to feel a little spoiled from time to time. And I love the food so much my only regret is that sometimes I can't eat it all and my dog is really spoiled to get those leftovers. I guess the only tiny complaint I have ever had is that the booths are a little tall. But they have tables that are shorter. It's so funny I even had a dream that I complained about the table height and they were like oh we can adjust it and they lowered the table. But that was just a dream and they can't do that. The booths are probably great for the big and tall athlete types since this is a restaurant made by a sports guy, so maybe he had those bigger guys in mind when he designed these tables. Or whoever did haha. But if that is my only complaint then do I have anything to complain about? No haha. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of fine dining or high quality steakhouses or looking for a nice restaurant for date night.

Started with Crab Cake, Cesar Salad then Steak. Everything phenomenal. Actually had chunks of crab, and the Cesar was fresh. Seasoned perfectly steak by adding the shanahan’s optional rub. It was quality food and service without the stuffiness of a “formal” steakhouse. You can do business meetings to date night. For quality steakhouses, this is worth definitely worth a try.

We had a great time. Only problem we had was with the bartenders. They were very rude. All the other staff people were wonderful.

My wife and I went for a special anniversary- Before I address the food, let me explain how Amazing Seth was- he was our server, but that demeans who and what he was for this evening. He was engaging, insightful and an absolutely positive part of our evening. Everything we ordered was prepared to perfection. If you want a true dining experience, you won't go wrong with Shanahan's.

Absolutely fantastic anniversary dinner for two Niners diehards who also fancy some seafood. Delish and impeccable service.

This was an incredible dining experience. The reservation process was super easy and convenient. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The staff were very attentive and very professional. Everything was clean. The steak was grilled to perfection. The lobster bisque might be the best in the country outside of Boston. The sides were really, really good, and the Keylime pie was great. Super expensive, but worth it.

One of the best steakhouses in the country. And I am a steakhouse junkie! A must do. Fantastic escargot, grilled octopus, and the best lamb chops in North America! Don't skip dessert. Had the lemon cake which was delicate, refreshing, and exquisite. Props to the pastry chef! Don't skip the wine list. Don't skip a cocktail. This one is worth it! Ask for Richard , one of the best waiters we've ever had. He gets food, he gets service and he leans in to your culinary experience!

Had a phenomenal time at Shanahan's! Everything was cooked perfectly. And service was impeccable. Love the marinade for the Satay (beef skewers which tasted like a sweet-soy Japanese Tare marinade and paired perfectly with a peanut sauced salad like the traditional South East Asian Satay)

Superb service. High end steak choices from dry aged to wagyu and bone in. Bread service is fresh, hot and delicious sesame loaf with butter. Sides of hoisin Brussels and lyonnaise potatoes. Expensive but very good.

My husband brought me here for our one year wedding anniversary. We were delivered to our table that had been decorated with red rose pedals for our special day. It was quite lovely. And for the Broncos fan that he is, he particularly enjoyed all the Bromcos Championship hardware. Service was impeccable as we were beautifully served by Jaisel and the rest of Shannon's team. We started off with a half dozen oysters that were prepared to perfection. Then, for the second course, we enjoyed a medium rare New Your Strip with truffle butter and Grilled Sea Scallops paired with a loaded baked potatoe. And to round out our experience, Jaisel presented us with a lovely chocolate mouse with a raspberry drizzle in an edible chocolate cup. We enjoyed every minute of our time there. Thank you for making our celebration so wonderful!

After a rocky start, this place turned out to be as terrific as everyone says. Little did we know that Shanahans is derived from Mike Shanahan, the beloved coach of the SF 49ers and of course the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, our experience started with us waiting 20 minutes after our reservation time. This shouldnt happen in such a restaurant. After being seated, we noticed our bread plate was dirty. This was a shock that an establishment such as this could let that happen. We were not impressed at all by our decision to come here. The lighting is so low, we needed our flashlights from our phones to read the menu. We were brought a new bread plate and bread and butter, which were delicious, but there was a fly continually flying around us and landing on our food. Again, our patience was running thin, and we questioned whether we should stay. After a while, the waiter came and apologized for his delay, which was nice. We ordered and I will say that this was by far the most expensive meal I've ever had, but it was hands down one of the best meals. The food is exceptional, just like most people have been raving about. We started with the compari tomato burrata salad and it was delicious. We both ordered the Delmonico Ribeye medium rare and it was the best I've ever had. The flavor was great and cooked to perfection. The issue was that the plate is SO hot (the expeditor warned me not to touch it), but the steak was still spitting out from sizzling and burned my arm.once I could sort of eat some, it melted in my mouth. We ordered the wild mushrooms and Creamed spinach and both were generous portions to share with leftovers and very tasty. I took pics of everything, but because it was so dark in there, they came out dark as well. I was stuffed after eating only half of my steak, but I was already looking forward to my leftovers. When the waiter came to box my food, my plate was still so hot, he needed a towel to pick it up. To me, this seemed a little too much. The bill for the two of us with one glass of wine, (which my BF said was the perfect pairing for the food), and no dessert was $400 with tax and tip. Was it worth it? Absolutely. A once in a lifetime experience I hope to get to do again. I took pics of the Lombardi trophies and rings through the case, (sorry, the quality isnt good) but you can actually ask to hold them and take pics as well. I'm very glad we dismissed our disappointment at the beginning and had a wonderful evening. For a very special evening, I would highly recommend coming here.

Our meal was delicious, so many good options it was hard to decide but we will be back. Truffle Mac n cheese was scrumptious!

My company celebrated our belated Christmas dinner last night. The service was excellent. Our waiter Phil was awesome. The appetizers were wonderful. None of our group of 10 people were disappointed with their orders. We had steaks, scallops, shrimp, lobster, Wagyu, crab legs and sides. It wasn’t cheap at $150 per person, including tip, but it was totally worth it!

Shanahans is a very high end romantic place to take your partner. I highly recommend you make reservations early. The staff is amazing! No slacking found here. Our server was very kind, kept the table clean, and the drinks topped off. Our visit was for our 24th wedding anniversary and the table had rose petals and was very romantic. We were also far from the bar, which made for a quiet conversation. The food was amazing, and you aren't shorted on serving size. My wife, who is a very picky eater and very seldomly eats steak, had the Danish Blue Petite 7oz filet and loved every bite. I had the 14oz aged ribeye and it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. No side sauces needed here. As for the side dishes, my wife and I shared the hoisin glazed brussel sprouts, creamed spinach and house cut parmesan fries. All were delicious!! We ended the night with an on the house tuxedo strawberries dessert. This was an amazing experience with the ambience, food and seeing the Lombardi trophies and championship rings. We will be back for more.

Service was great, dinner was even better! Lavender lemon drop and sparkling grapefruit martini to start. Very good! Carpaccio and calamari were decent shareables, the steaks we ordered were all cooked to the temperatures as asked. S’mores brownie and salted Carmel creme brûlée were perfect desserts. We had a 7- person party and they did a wonderful job keeping up with the table. A perfect birthday celebration! Thank you!

Shanahan's is everything you want in a top-notch steakhouse. The food was tremendous, the service was outstanding and the hospitality was off the charts. You're treated as special whether it's your first time or you're a frequent diner. Everything is really good, but the key lime pie to close the show is perfection personified.

Couldn't have picked a better place for dinner last night. We came to enjoy the fall colors and have a relaxing time viewing the nature and trails. Shannahan's exceeded our expectation, my husband and i split the porterhouse- yum yum!! Had Au Gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts paired with a pinot noir recommended by their wine experts. They also served us their chocolate raspberry mouse handcrafted dessert as we celebrated my man's Birthday. Service was impeccable! Definitely one of the best steak place we have been to. Will return if opportunity arise.

Love this place! The food is amazing & it's consistent each time. I've been dining here for years w/ associates, my business events, family. The service is exceptionally great. Waitstaff is always very attentive & pleasant.Ambiance is on point! Spotless restaurant. Manager is lovely.

The food is amazing, but Edward really made the night so special. Truly one of the best servers we've ever had! We celebrated my wife and her mother's birthday tonight and Edward is the reason we had such an amazing time! Thank you so much Edward!

Husband and I had dinner with our (adult) children. We experienced excellent service from Sean, and greatly appreciated Myers’s (sp?) expertise on helping us pick a bottle of wine that would go well with both the steak and seafood dinner entrees. I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. My daughter put it on her top 10 restaurants to visit when she came to Denver for culinary school. We went during her first few months at school and have been celebrating every milestone at this restaurant ever since. The food is second to none, the service is nothing shy of perfect and we have felt so welcomed and like family every time we visit. I will admit that I need to save up to go here but I can not think of a better restaurant to build memories with all the most important people in your life. I will be there again in a couple weeks celebrating my daughter's birthday and also her expecting her first child. This is hands down the best restaurant in Denver in my opinion and if you are ever in the area, do not pass this place up. It deserves 10 Gold Stars, not just 5.

First time diner, great experience! Our waiter was Pappy? Very warm energy, excellent service. Food was excellent. We all felt very welcomed. The Broncos superbowl ring is the coolest ring I have ever tried on. Will return again

First time at Shanahan’s and it was outstanding from start to finish. The service was impeccable, and the team made our large group feel completely taken care of. I started with the tuna tartare and the gulf shrimp cocktail, both fresh and beautifully prepared. The Shanahans’ salad was another standout; the dressing was excellent. For my main course, I had the Colossal Crab and Prawns, which were rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Our table shared several sides, including the sautéed wild mushrooms, Hoisin-glazed Brussels sprouts, and the Black Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese. Every dish was a hit and there wasn’t a single plate left untouched. We had a big crowd, and everyone enjoyed their meals. We’ll definitely be back.

I want to give a huge shoutout to the hostess or waitress that let me hold the Vince Lombardi trophy. It made my week. Especially after we just got knocked out of the playoffs. You were the very beautiful young lady with dark hair. My wife was thrilled of the act of kindness. Thursday evening 1-29-26. I hope you will be commended for taking the time to open the case and let me take a picture with the trophy. I posted it to FB and Tik tok. Thank you for making a memorable night. Shanahan’s has the best in person service I have witnessed in years. Food was phenomenal and servers were on point. I was welcomed by several people and wished good night and thanked for coming to dinner. Other restaurants need to take look at what’s going on at Shanahan’s. Excellence is always noticed.

Celebrated a family member anniversary at this restaurant. The quality of the steak and the Salmon was unique. Our server was wonderful, super friendly and helpful. The open area tends to get loud but we had a pleasant moment with family and friends. Do make reservations in advance.

The place provides a dark atmosphere because they don’t want you to actually see what their steak looks like in the light. This steak is definitely not recommend to eat leftover. However, eating it in person was not the best experience either. It’s very light but very chewy for an American Wagyu filet with a supposed marble scoring of 9+. I think this was a lie and I feel as thought I wasted nearly 500 dollars on my meal. A bit outrageous. The crab cakes were delicious though and I would definitely recommend that as well as the cowboy steak. Do not get their wagyu, it’s a scam. Go to perrys or Eddie vs for Wagyu

Food was okay, I feel like it could be better. We got calamri for appetizer our favorite at any restaurant and we got steaks and it was served in a piping hot plate so it was still cooking while you're eating to keep it warm too. The drinks was good and the service was excellent. Very loud though so it's a little bit hard to hear, wish I could post a video. We spent about $300 for the two of us and on our way out we got to see the trophies. Overall we still had a nice experience.

Went there for special occasion, it's nice that they put something special on the table to enhance the experience, and gave us a surprise dessert to celebrate. While I appreciated all that, my meals were kind of hit and miss. No, we did not want to complain nor send the food back because it was personal preference. For example, there is something we could not figure out on carrot cakes that we just don't really care about. Similar thing with my fish. The ambiance is also more industrial than romantic for my taste. I was glad to get seated where I could see outside the window. But there was a big tent outside the window, so it's basically just a white background. And there was other personal thing that I personally like that I did not get to experience. On the other hand, other food we ordered were great. I also like the fact that their booth seats do not have a dip on it, and we got leftovers packaged for us, such thing a rarely nowadays even at restaurants that used to do that but not doing that anymore with their shortage of workers. In summary, Shanahan's Steakhouse is better than just good. It just not becomes one of my favorites.

So its very dim of you have trouble seeing your going to need a flashlight. I got the NY prime rib and it was very chard. Basically tasted burt. My date got the red snapper that had no flavor besides the lemon juice. For dessert we each got keylime pie that had a strawberry drizzle almost like a cheesecake topping. I wasnt fond of that either. I will not be visiting this restaurant again. Definitely overrated.

Wonderful food! The wagyu rib eye satay was my favorite on the menu, I'll definitely be ordering this on every visit from now on. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were perfect in portion with an amazing taste. The service was great, our server was very attentive. Update: we went back for my birthday and I'm not sure what happened but it was a 180 from our last experience. The food continues to be pricey but this time it was bland. Our server was nowhere to be found. Since this visit I've had a chance to experience other places with a similar menu and price range. I'm updating this review to reflect my experience.

Service was top notch. Good people watching. Extremely loud place on a Friday night. The appetizers were good. The $79 steak was mediocre at best. I'd return if i was invited by others but I wouldnt go out of my way to eat there again. Better steak houses in the city some with a lot lower price tag. I can do a better job on my Weber then shanahans prime rib.

I am writing this review while waiting to be seated. My husband and I booked an 8:00 reservation. We arrived on time and were informed they were running 30 minutes late. But, people with 7:30 reservations have been waiting 45+ minutes. The foyer was standing room only with over 20 people waiting for their tables. The women who run the desk could care less about the situation. After 20 minutes I suggested that a restaurant of this caliber should offer a complimentary beverage to customers inconvenienced by their failure to honor reservations. They did offer a glass or wine but we still have no table. We have dined at many high end restaurants and have never experienced such poor planning and indifference on the part of the staff. We will not be coming back regardless of the food quality.
