I HAVEN'T BEEN TO BENNIGAN'S IN MANY MANY YEARS I WOULD VISIT THE ONES DOWNTOWN CHICAGO FROM THE 80S TO THE LATE '90S I ADORED BENNIGAN'S AND WHEN THEY CLOSED I WAS HEARTBROKEN FOR MY BIRTHDAY THIS YEAR MY SON STUMBLED ACROSS BENNIGAN'S IN ELGIN AND OF COURSE WE HAD TO COME TO MY DELIGHT BENNIGAN'S IS THE SAME AS IT USED TO BE THE WAIT STAFF FROM THE FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT AND THE COOKS WE'RE ABSOLUTELY ACCOMMODATING AND KIND TO US I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED MY MEAL AND THE BIRTHDAY CONGRATULATIONS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY DINING EXPERIENCE A GOOD ONE
I enjoyed my time at Bennigans. The food was good, nothing outstanding. The server we had was excellent. It was not crazy busy for a Friday evening. I needed to go out and just enjoy an evening with family. I would definitely go back again.
We have been visiting this location for many years. Unfortunately we don't live near the restaurant. We were fortunate to be in the area and planned to have a Friday lunch on the way home. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive and had our drinks and appetizers out quickly. They have a Friday Fish Fry and my guys both had to order. I am very fond of Ruben Sandwich. The meal was hot and plentiful. We were treated well and had take out leftovers. Keep up the Great Service and Fantastic Food.
Great place to meet friends , last minute date, meetings etc. The staff is so warm and friendly. My husband and have been here several times. They have never let us down. Great place to eat .
I was planning a small family reunion of about a dozen people, and needed a place to hold the event. Bennigan’s on Airport Rd. in Elgin was at a great location, but we needed room to seat a dozen people comfortably at one table, and somewhere quiet enough where we could talk. Also, to keep it simple, we wanted to order off the regular menu, and allow attendees to have separate checks. I worked with Sandy, who told me there was some renovation work planned around that time, but assured us she could accommodate our needs. A few days ahead, Sandy called to inform us the renovation had been put off, and confirmed we were good to go. When we arrived, we found a table set and ready in a quiet corner of the VIP Lounge, with a side table for the custom cake we brought in for the occasion. Taylor was outstanding as our main server for the event. Drinks, food orders, and checks were handled flawlessly as requested, the food was delicious, and they turned off the music in our area to allow us to talk. The staff also put out dessert plates and utensils for us to cut, serve, and enjoy our custom cake. My thanks to Sandy, Taylor, and the rest of the Bennigan’s staff for helping us to have a very successful reunion! We would highly recommend this location and its team to handle your event!
As I walked into one of 6 remaining Bennigan’s in the US, the nostalgia hit me like a Britney number 1 hit. As I was transported back in time, I half expected the Smashing Pumpkins to greet us, but alas, TLC was right - don’t go chasing those waterfalls. It was almost like Bennigan’s never went away, except of course, for the fact this one was attached to a Holiday Inn. We were greeted by a friendly server and found ourselves sitting near a woman celebrating her 100th birthday, no doubt remembering Bennigan’s as a staple during her heyday. The decor took me back to 1998, when all I had to worry about was having a cool AIM profile and not cramping up during my Backstreet Boys pool aerobics. We didn’t need to look at the menu but we did for old time sake. The broccoli bites were a must and they came out hot, crispy, and served on a bed of onion straws, like every good appetizer should. The honey dijon dipping sauce was divine and should be served on everything. Next came the main entrees. Do they still have the Irishman Whiskey Glazed burger? Yes. Did I order it? Well no, but it’s there for next time. My wife ordered the Kilkenny Country Chicken Salad, with crispy chicken of course and I ordered the classic - the Turkey O’Toole. I have had dreams of this sandwich. Bennigan’s was serving the Turkey O’Toole on a pretzel bun before people knew pretzel buns were cool and they did it to perfection. Today was no different. My sandwich was a cheesy, buttery, turkey dream. Did I mention it was smothered in the honey dijon? Did I also mention I used the extra honey dijon from the broccoli bites to dip my fries in? Fries that happened to be the crispiest, fattest fries not in the steak fry family. We finished lunch off with the brownie and ice cream. Did we need it? No. Were we full? Oh yes. Did we eat it anyway? You betcha! It was only as I paid the tab that I remembered it was 2025, but even by 2025 standards it was very reasonable. Overall it was worth the 45 minute drive out to Elgin. The people were nice, the food was great, and if you get drunk you can stumble to the front desk and ask for a room. I’ll end by saying Bennigan’s should quit playing games with my heart, and open more locations.
I wish I could give this Bennigan's 10 Stars! The food, service, atmosphere, value, etc... it's all very, very good! Rami, the manager, could not be a kinder and more professional manager. Such a sweet man! The servers have all been so kind too. As for the food, it is really good! It is definitely not just your typical bar food. The food here is at a much higher level imo. I love their broccoli bites (for my guilty pleasure)! Really tasty. I've also had their sea bass, salads, sandwiches, Pick 2/Pick 3 appetizers, soups, etc. All of the food I got here was very good. I've been to this restaurant probably 5 to 10 times so far and every time the food has been delicious and they provide excellent service too. Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop by. Can't wait until I'm in the area again to visit Rami and his team at this Bennigan's. Thank you Rami and the team at Bennigan's for such great food and service, and I'll see you all again soon!
Bennigan's Monte Cristo is a favorite. This location is attached to a hotel but wasn't super busy at the time we were there. Excellent food, Excellent service.
Popped in to celebrate my dad's birthday. We live about 2 hours away from here, and it's a favorite! We were so sad to see the Chicago location go. It was always a must on our trips to the city. When we discovered this location, we were thrilled. We've been in 4 or 5 times now. The food is just as good and brings back great memories! Everything was delicious and cooked just right. Couldn't be happier, and we will be back again in the future! 😊
I decided to surprise my husband and take him to dinner at a restaurant we first met at in May 2020 in Virginia! We are now celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary and was thrilled to be back at a Benihana as I thought they all closed. The service was great and so was the food. My husband says the Monte Cristo tasted the exact same! I loved having the nachos for dinner. What a great way to celebrate.
We got there when they first opened and our service was great. I’ve been places that act out off by the arrival of customers upon first opening so I am appreciative that was not the case. We drive for a living so getting to stop and eat somewhere is a treat. This spot is connected to a hotel so the parking may be minimal depending on what they have going on. We’re in a 40’ straight truck and still found parking with a full lot. Being that it was my first time I’d never had the Hawaiian chicken before. It reminded me of burbon chicken, which I am not a fan of. I asked if they could remake the chicken without the marinade and there was no issue. Don’t let that discourage you from trying the Hawaiian I’m just a super picky eater. The rice pilaf and broccoli were great! Check your water cups because I didn’t catch mine til later into my drink that it had some floaties at the bottom. I had no toddlers with me to cause this. I did let my waitress know and she took care of it and informed me she switched water sources. I mention this so anyone with an issue isn’t hesitant to bring it respectfully to their attention and they too will respectfully address and fix the problem. No yelling or fits are necessary. Now that we know this place is here and we can fit our truck we will be sure to try more dishes in the future should we return to this area. Thank you to the hostess and the rest of the staff for taking such good care of us.
I usually eat at local restaurants versus chains but it’s freezing outside so I stayed close to the hotel on this work trip. The servers were all super friendly. Tyler was on top of everything and provided outstanding service for lunch today before taking off to the airport. The dishes are yummy- huge portions, definitely shareable.
My mother, sister, and I dined there a couple weeks ago and our experience was delightful. We were greeted, seated and served exceptionally fast. The food was cooked just as we ordered, with no errors. Romi and Tyler were amazing during our visit. Good food, good vibes, good times

My husband and I thought they went out of business and just in case asked AI if they still existed. To our surprise they had this location within 30 minutes from us. Service was good, decor was nostalgic and as we remembered and the food was good. I had the beef spare ribs, super tender and flavorful, medium sized portion, my husband has the chicken fried steak n said it was decent. I'd recommend checking them out, we will eat here again.

Nice casual spot to go for all kinds of occasions. Late night, work lunch, after school, family dinner, etc. Burger and Brussels sprouts were bit under seasoned. Other than that everything came out as expected. Friendly service and clean setting. Glad I stopped by over the holidays.

The staff here are fantastic. They were very accommodating of our kids. They checked in regularly and also held the door for us on the way out. The food was meh, not something that would make me come here again. Alot of the food lacked seasoning. As long as you are fine with that then no problems. No major complains about atmosphere, its what you expect of a bar.
I hadnt been to a Bennigans since the early 90s ..I didnt even know they still had any in Illinois ..with that said I rode out to Elgin to chk it out ..I had the legendary Monte Cristo with the berry jam ..Loaded mash potatoes.. bread pudding & ice cream.. Went out with my family for dinner. Service was absolutely horrible. Half of us got our drinks, while the rest waited until our meals came to have our first drink. Then with the meals, again half of us didn’t receive our food until everyone else was pretty much finished with their meals. Our server was either forgetting drinks/orders, while we all ordered at the same time. Manager was unprofessional cussing under her breath at their POS station.
