The very best BBQ I have ever had, they know what they’re doing. Also the BEST macaroni and cheese I have ever had. And please believe me when I tell you, it was the best peach cobbler I have ever had. It’s ridiculous how good the food is. How dare they change my life like this, I didn’t anticipate the level of deliciousness, I may not ever recover. It doesn’t help that everyone working was upbeat, welcoming, and good people. Traveling from Encinitas to Talladega, stopped in Dallas to take a break from the drive and wanted some real BBQ food (no big corporate owned restaurant). This place was great! Small family owned restaurant, the guy behind the counter was friendly, but what mattered most was the food was so delicious. My fingers are sticky with bbq as I'm writing this! Got the beef sandwich and potato salad. Sandwich was super tasty, the beef smokey and soft, and the potato salad was so good! I usually don't like potato salad, but I always give it a try, hoping one day one will win me over...and this was the one. :)

The East Texas links are my favorite. The Bar-B-Q sauce is great and should be bottled for sale. I'm disappointed that they have the dinning area blocked off so you can't sit down and enjoy your food right then and there.

The food is great but We just got home with our order after i just spent $108 part of my ordered was 2 lbs of brisket lb was supposed to be lean the other marbled and got what looks like 2 gallons of chopped beef and bbq sauce I'm using these post for verification that I tried to connect this establishment but they haven't added a number for people to call so I'll be there in the the morning to get either my money back or my 2 lbs of brisket the food here is great they just need to work on the service

You gotta love this place. Service is slow—the line is usually long, and they serve just one customer at a time. And the food is uneven—but really, it only varies from good to excellent. In addition to their luscious BBQ, they sell authentic East Texas Hot Links, the only place in Dallas where I have found these plumply odd regional treasures. If you annoy the kitchen help, though, they can be as cranky as carvers at Katz's. Like I said, I love the joint, but uncritically.

I love the guy that takes the orders. He is a little snappy but in a witty friendly way. He always makes my day when I go there. I love the links and bake potatoe. Will always go there for good barbecue.

Been here 3 times. They were always nice and helpful to me. The sliced beef and chopped beef are tender and excellent. The large beef sandwiches (7 dollars) are piled with meat. They're not skimpy. I like the sauce, its not real sweet. Nice and smokey. Potato salad was smooth, I prefer it chunky, it was still good. Beans were good as well. If you come on a Sunday be prepared to wait about 10 minutes, but no big deal. If you pay with a card be sure to bring an ID that matches. They were saying they get a lot of chargebacks, so don't blame them for that.

Wow!!! I didn't expect to see this loaded potato this big. My friend recommended them and he was on point. Good... This is take out only. Once you park your car, you can smell the BBQ. The menu has all the meat fixings you need and sides. After this potato, I know I will be taking a nap. Thumbs up!!!

The loaded baked potato I ordered was awesome, however, their customer service is not. The individual did not greet with a smile, and his voice did not come with a smile either. He wasn't outright rude, but his customer service can improve.

The oxtails are very good. But i went today and the hot plate wasn't that good. I had the short ribs, greens, yams, rice and gravy. The meat was a little tough and cold and not seasoned well. Gravy was not seasoned well, very bland. But most often the food is very good. Dont know what the hell happened to day. For the price you expect good hot food.

Try to support black owned businesses as much as possible, but don't eat meat. Only went to pay for family reunion's "to go" order (because it's not catered)& had more interaction with the person who couldn't help me than the one that could (since only 1 person can ring up large orders?). It means something if you can't say more than a handful of words to your customers though. One nice thing: you won't have a wait.

The staff was very nice and the customers are nice and friendly. The food was good but we like a a better bark, tastier and juicier small ends and the links were okay. We'll they the West Dallas location as we continue our search for great BBQ. We really miss our ol' favorite place.

Update: Decided to try this establishment again. This time, I did get a bake potato, and it was delicious. It was chopped beef. I wanted chicken on it but they were out. Worst customer service ever. People were waiting for the establishment to open. 4 ppl were asking for bake potatoes. The man was so rude. Couldn't even give an estimated time. That man was rude as he'll to EVERYONE. I can't give my money to any business that don't respect their customers. BLACK or white. The food is what received the 2 stars.

Baked potato with chopped beef were great. A loaded spud is some real southern comfort food. But the customer service sucked, I have heard them talk crazy to its customers on several occasions, well it was my turn today, Buying Black can be difficult or near impossible when the service is bad. The first generation of owners are missed.

Big satisfying baked bbq potato (amount 1lb) for a reasonable amount of money about $11. I prefer it without the cheese and the bbq sauce. The potato was soaked with bbq sauce but still pretty decent. Definitely will put you in a good food coma for the rest of the day so have a pillow near to rest your head on because you’ll be 😴😴 in no time.

Was going to another establishment in Duncanville, then saw Odoms. Hadn't been here in a while. The food was always good. I didn't care for the dressing, but the other veggies and salisbury steak was good. Gonna try one in West Dallas next time.

The food was good the cashier older black male has zero customer service. He uses dry humor and thinks he's funny. He usually from what I've experienced personally gets very put of line with females. Of you are considering going as a female take a male along with you to keep this guy in line. He really doesn't need to be at the register very very flirty and rude.

So , I was looking for a place to get some bbq near work, but after reading these reviews. I will surely pass, what I value more than anything is food consistent quality, and good customer service. I ordered a brisket baked potato and it was definitely good. However, the wait alone was 30+ mins and the staff were not friendly at all. Asking questions feels like you’re inconveniencing them. Eh, I could take it or leave it.

So I used to frequent this place and they had a drive thru. Now they no longer have one. I ordered the chopped beef and I only live about 7mins away. My sandwich was soggy I couldn't even eat the bread had to open face it with a fork. I won't go back. Also there was a drunk guy (customer) in there showing out, maybe that's why my sandwich was awful. However I had nothing to do with that so why did I suffer.

Don't be fooled. Soggy bottom bun on bland chopped beef sandwich. Go get you a pack of chopped beef from HEB with flavor for 13.99. Cobbler dough to soft. Links ok. Hot as hell in lobby.

I met a lady in the parking lot and she was so positive about this restaurant. She was raving about it saying that this is the only place she’ll get Barbecue and it’s fantastic. So I went in and I got the two meat plate with ribs and hot links. The meat was not tender and seemed undercooked. The potato salad was good and the beans were Average. I will not go back. I ate my food in the parking lot and I almost walked it back in there. It was that bad. The service was OK and the atmosphere was OK. He seems to be a black on business which I love supporting black on businesses. But honestly, it’s shameful, how bad the meat was not cooked well and definitely not tender.

This is our first time journeying to this kitchen and it was not hospitable. The service was poor, unwelcoming to say the least. Food came quickly and remembered that potato salad! Yuck! The beef sandwiches were soggy and the East Texas links were overboiled and covered w/BBQ sauce and soggy too. The potato salad tasted like boxed mashed potatoes with minimum seasoning and small pieces of potatoes. A straight 💯 NO SIR.. OMS

The bake potatoes are garbage, with all the competition out here you would think they would upgrade the loaded bake potatoes not the look is terrible! Taste was awful, Shredded the sausage on top just an overall bad experience.... Never going to this place again Kooley's is killing the game.....

Zero stars for poor customer service. We didn't eat here. I came here a few years ago I see they made upgrade to the decor, but not customer service. Not all of the staff, but the short black man with the glasses was very rude today as if he hated to be at work. Time I entered he started yelling at me in front of 3 more customers waiting on their food, "WHERE YOU GOING, AINT NOBODY TOLD YOU TO COME UP HERE WITH NOTHING"! I tried speaking and needed to ask a question about the service, but he was adamant about what he wasn't going to do and very loud hollering from behind the counter. It's sad how some people in business act,, you are there to serve people and need people inorder for your business to operate. The upmost customer service is always expected if you want your business to prosper.

Cashier is tackie with the customers. Yes I'm old & disable. But it don't give the cashier right to try and crack jokes. And the owner he parks in front in handicap with no handicap emblem. Went in to order food with my 3 year old grandson because he loves their potatoes and was told they do not allow kids inside. That is fine but being a little more polite in front of my grandson would have made all the difference instead of the firm tone that was used.

I have been going to this place over 20 years. I order the rib sandwich all the time cause I'm a creature of habit. I was missing 2 ribs on the sandwich. Called that store and number is not working. Called main store in Dallas. Female told me she will go by what they say. I asked her "do you think I have time to call about 2 ribs, I'm a traveling nurse and they are my go to for bbq." She became argumentative and over talked me. Soooo, I'll take my business elsewhere. See.... I always support black businesses. But after this. 4get ODOMS in Duncanville, Texas. Rip off! Chopped beef sandwich 11.99, on the size of a Walmart bun when they were bigger than that. My brother went in and asked for a refund, they came out with bigger buns! So they had the original buns in the back but chose to give the smaller ones and use the excuse,”Everything going up.” Oh and the cook (butcher) rude as hell too. Bye Odom’s! I was referred to this place to cater food for my job. First off let me say, I live in Bedford (approximately 40 mins away) so I called to get pricing b4 I drove over there. I called 7 times b4 someone answered then when they did it was an EXTRA RUDE a.. man that basically told me to call him back because he had customers and didn't have time for the $250 I was trying to spend. Odom's BBQ Inc. 1 & 2 we stood outside your establishment from 11am to 12:09p with no communication from anyone that your opening time was being delayed. A lady showed up around 11:25am and argued with a patron (disabled VETERAN) about the handicap park in front of your business. He moved his car, she went in and not once did she come back to communicate a delayed opening. She didn’t have appropriate license plates nor did she put a placard on her mirror. Anyway, a gentleman came out of back gate, got in silver truck, saw us (while acting like he didn’t see us) and didn’t bother to address us. More patrons showed up and inquired about the opening because there was 5 of us already in line, they chose not to wait. A couple of people went over to him and asked the opening time, he told one 15 minutes and the other 10 minutes. I sincerely tried to ignore the reviews on google and Facebook. Now, I have concrete proof of the level of customer service that is provided. How do you ignore people standing in the heat/sun that are coming to patronize your business?? Then you have the nerve to say we don’t support our own. Don’t be mad about this post. I wish I could give this place NO STARS . The cashier lady is so rude , it’s sad . When am I not allowed to check my food before I pay for it . Then she claims I snatched my bag from her , which was a lie because my bag was sitting on the counter . I also explained to her I always check my food before leaving. Then when I decide not to get my food (because she so so rude talking loud and more ) and as I was walking out the door she say GOOD LEAVE 😂. My people we have to do better.

I go here all the time and today was the worst ever!!! I have always gotten an order of rib tips and order of short ends. The lady taken orders now is rude and very unprofessional. Terrible customer service! I decided to give Odoms a try since I hadn’t been in years. The man taking my order, or so I thought, yelled at me to just stop he is not taking my order. Another man stepped up to the register and proceeded to take my order. The baked potato was drenched in thin BBQ sauce and oil. The meat plate was ok but I will never visit Odoms again and have advised many others to just support another black owned business because this one is not it.

the mop that cleans the bathroom is laid out on the firewood to dry every day. incredibly rude and unprofessional staff. dirty filthy establishment. I saw two roaches while I was in there. they also don't do any take out orders for delivery companies. parking lot is full of holes and incredibly tiny. building looks like it's falling apart and has a lot of junk in the back. looks like the kind of place you could score some crack to be quite honest. go to dickeys bbq pit. way better results, I promise!

I went to Odoms BBQ #2 today and purchased 1lb.short end ribs 1/3 sliced beef & sides. The ribs appeared to be boiled. Neither had BBQ Smoked flavor at all. I wasn't impressed. They drown your meat in runny thin BBQ sauce to hide the fact that they didn't BBQ AT ALL! Maybe it's better at the #1 location. But definitely not at this one or I just came on the wrong day which had the wrong cook. Oh yes and do not go by the prices on their web sight because they don't exists either. (needs udating) 🙄

My family and I went in for the first time this week. We were pretty surprised at how rude and obnoxious the lady behind the counter was. My son is in a cast from a fall a few weeks ago and she chose to make comments on my parenting skills, as first time guests we had questions, all she would do is just point up to the menu. The BBQ links were horrible!!! The casing of the links were hard, I couldn't bite into them, the white bread was cheap, stale and soaked with bbq sauce. After attempting to eat one of the links I threw the so-called link sandwich away. This location should be named "Old Hard BBQ"! That was my first and last time going. I'm extremely disappointed!

My very first time and my last time. I googled bbq because I was craving a potato. I got home which was 30 min away to realize it was nothing on it. No sour cream no green onions, no jalapeños. First time coming here me and my husband. The wait time is ridiculous and the lady that prepares the food behind the counter is very rude not only to myself and but I saw her being rude to others. I'd purchased from this location about 3 years ago and it was awesome. Today I was in the area and decided to stop by. I ordered the rib plate. Let me start with the sides, you didn't get a choice, beans and potatoes salad. The beans were so dry they looked to be several days old. The potatoe salad looked and taste like mashed potatoes with mustard and sugar. The meat was the small end of the ribs and definitely on their last day of usage. After tasting the food i knew my eyes did not deceive me. A waste of $17.00 NEVER AGAIN!

Was shooed out of the building before I was even greeted because I had an energy drink in hand. Website states seating there is none avaliable. Cannot comment on the food, but service is quite lacking. If it's a concern about bring in something to drink. I would glady buy a beverage as well I planned on it anyway.

I’ve given this place several chances because I have friends that have recommended it to me but I will never be back to this place again not only are they always sold out of their baked potatoes but several times I have made the trip after work to find out they decided to close early. the customer service Is trash and I have no idea how this place is profitable based on my experiences with them. I’ve been in the service industry all my life and it’s a shame to see a family owned and operated business like this be ran so poorly. Very disappointing to say the least, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

This was my first time here. I noticed when I came in 2 customers walked in the back to give the cook and cashier hugs. I was like how unsanitary. I asked for hot sauce and they charged me.92 cents. Gave me bbq sauce instead. I got a refund. Then I was told I was getting corn bread with my order and got 3 slices of bread instead. I've I complained & I was told, "I ain't got time for this if you want corn bread it's .92 more cents. This place is unsanitary and has horrible costumer service. I will never come here again.

I was very disappointed. Ribs were over smoked drowned in barbecue sauce like they cooked them the day before and heated them up in pot of barbecue sauce. My East Texas Hotlinks were undercooked and chewy. I love food but baaaaaby I could have put that $35 in gas Tank.

We ordered two chop beef sandwiches when it was time to pay,he asked for my license as well as the card that I was using to pay for the food with. Rather odd… But OK. This place is very rude and unprofessional. When you first walk into the business no one greets you, also the man is behind the counter taking your order. Once my meal was ready i asked to see my meal in order to know if it was correct. The elderly man stated "No but can i see that money". So i proceed to say "Im paying 28$ for my food and i can't even check my order". Then he says "Just know it's correct". So after i let him know that it's my first time there which is why i wanted to see if it was correct. He just flat out refused to let me see my order. Over all i just want to say the customer service is absolutely awful. Also for the amount i paid the food was terrible. I will not be returning or recommending anyone .This is a black owned business and I must say I was embarrassed coming to this place it's places like this that make it hard to support your people but never again will I go here.

My experience with this busy was not a great one. I went to go pick up a order for someone. And the older guy behind the counter got smart with me. I tried to broken up the tension by joking with him. This man came from around the counter and waved his knife at me. I was upset and could not believe that he just did that. He told me I couldn't order at his restaurant. And I left. So, I had to wait before I called the other restaurant. I wanted to get my mind right about what had just happened. I called today to speak with Ms. Odom at the other location. She has a smart mouth as well. I didn't get a chance to even let her know what I experienced at the other location. I just said never mind and hang up the phone. I wouldn't go to these restaurants and order with my money. If your attitude ain't right. My food isn't gonna be right.

All the money that they bring in, they need to invest it in a bigger place and get some central AC. Walked into this place and it was like a sauna! The customer service is horrible! This establishment is so rude to their customers it’s unreal from the lady that drives the two seater red Mercedes. She literally told a potential customer don’t make her begin an argument with him just after she got out of church. We waited an hour no one ever came out to update us. If I haven’t traveled so far I would leave. This will be my last visit. The food will be missed!

Rib tips is trash and to spend over 16 with no side only potato salad(which I don't eat) is ridiculous. Sauce is watery with little to no flavor. Service is trash no one has real character or life, they look so serious as if you are bothering them for coming in. Never again will I eat there.

Very rude. I've tried to patronize them, but they manage to be rude every single time. I had to stop going there. I knew what to expect with the regular guy at the register, but the last time I went, the girl at the register was so rude, I thought she wanted to fight over a driver's license. The rib sandwiches were decent, but only the top 3 bones. The ribs at the bottom of the sandwich are always tough. I inquired about it after having this experience a few times. They told me that's just the way it is.

This place is the pits! Talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Looks like someone pissed in their cheerios. Be thankful y’all have a business and welcome customers instead of scaring them away! It doesn’t matter the day or time, as soon as you walk in that place its straight up attitude. I live less than one block away and rather drive anywhere else besides there! It’s obvious you all are miserable! I will not be desperate enough to walk into that place ever again.

I don't care how good your food taste. If you're running a business you shouldn't be rude or have an attitude with your customers right off the back. I want to support black businesses, but I'm not about to support ANY business with bad attitudes for no reason like you chose to work here. Then the whole I NEED your ID to pay with credit card for Some BBQ is crazy. They don't even do that at the Beauty supplies around the corner! I went there a few years ago and I never had these issues. I guess they gave it to family members who don't want to be there.

I can't understand why they are so rude. I've been going there for quite some time. I remember when my son was small, now he's almost 35. When does it get better? It's so many places out here and they need to realize it. You can't patronize because it doesn't work. Whenever I asked a simple question, the response was short and the person waiting on me responded with an ATTITUDE! SMH ...I don't think this place will ever get better.

I was very disappointed!!!! I ordered an order of ribs and the ribs were tough and since when do we cut one whole rib in half in order to make 2 ribs!!!!! SMH!!!! If I paid for an order of ribs that's what I should've gotten........ I also ordered a side of potato salad, not good either, won't be going back........

I went to Odom’s for the first time in a very long time and now I know why, I was very disappointed with my order, the ribs were so fat that I returned them and they were over priced, and the chopped beef was swimming in sauce. I will never be going back.

These people are so unfriendly. The only place that ask for your ID when you buy food with your debit card. I'll go back to HUG BBQ in the Lancaster square. Much better. Thumbs down. 👎🏾

I wanted to call to vent out my frustration. But you have no phone number so I have to leave my review.. I pay 30+ for some Shorty and ribs. That really wasn’t what they used to be or what I expected . Large , and fatty. I tried to patronize your business, but when I do, I’m disappointed and it’s a waste of money for me.. I paid $32 for a bunch of large and tasty ribs. That’s sad..

The customer service here is terrible. Don’t waste your time or money. I stopped by after work to grab something to eat around 4:45 p.m. The hours of operation on the door say they close at 6 p.m., and online it shows 9 p.m. — so I thought I had plenty of time. Instead, the owner walked in with a very bad attitude, clearly irritated that I showed up before closing. I haven’t eaten here since I was a kid (over 10–15 years ago), and this experience reminded me why. The owner was rude, argumentative, and even told me he didn’t need my money. And honestly, he’s right — I don’t need their barbecue either. There are plenty of spots in Duncanville to choose from. It’s frustrating when you try to support a long-standing Black-owned business, but the attitude makes it impossible. A successful restaurant that’s been around for years should still value its customers and treat them with respect. I didn’t deserve that energy — especially when I was just trying to end my day on a positive note (my birthday is even coming up in a few days). I ended up walking out without ordering and went next door to Williams, where the service and food were just fine. If you’re looking for good barbecue and better customer service, skip this place and head over to Colters up the street. They’re friendlier, cheaper, and actually appreciate their customers.

The brisket sandwich was so dry I did not even want to finish my food. It tasted like dry bland meat (brisket) and the bbq sauce tasted like tomato sauce.

Should have checked the horrible reviews yes it's true.... first time coming here and felt the rudeness from the start I'll give that a pass because my family plus me talk like that 🤷spent 42 dollars..I'm from East Texas so if you calling those East Texas hot links it's gotta be a joke those or cut up hot links sausage...the ribs or so so coverd in liquid red grease potatoe salad ok ......All in All I want be back and trust they want care less

I haven't been too Odom's in a while and will not be going back. I got a chopped beef plate and it was not good. The potatoe salad looked and taste like instant mashed potatoes, the ranch style beans and the bread were the best things on the plate. The chopped beef was full of barbeque sauce with very little meat.

I paid 17.99 plus tax for this baked potato. It’s barely any meat just a lot of bbq sauce. This is why I hate supporting black owned businesses.

The food wasn't good at all. I ordered a variety of items & didn't like any of it. The ribs & chicken was very dry, over cooked & the sauce didn't even help. First & last time going. Don't waste your time or money.
