Randomly chose this place to have dinner. Non-Veg thali was thrust on me and there was no looking back. An awesome decision indeed. The restaurant is very lively. The servers are looking to fill your plate every time they see it going empty. I love meat but the standout dishes were the dal and two veg curries they served. So happy I decided to pick the first restaurant that came up. It felt like being in a mess in India serving tasty and affordable food.
Joy of eating a good South-Indian Thali! What amazing food, great service and excellent location with sufficient parking. The Thali was to die for, and full of flavors that just kept building up. And the Shahi Tukada (Indian Bread Pudding) at the end was the finale this meal deserved! Can't wait to come back for some more :)
I had a wonderful experience at Ulavacharu Restaurant. Buffet was really good! Huge menu veg and non-veg ! Andhra Style food items ! The highlight for me was the Goat Biryani – flavorful, aromatic, and cooked to perfection with tender meat and authentic Andhra spices. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had!
Love the food here! We are pretty regular here, the server is very friendly. Literally everything here is great, however we love the Ulvacharu special biryani (panner), charminar biryani, gobi Manchurian and obviously their kaja and badusha are yum too. Highly recommended. We ordered vijayawada chicken biryani and chilli chicken appetizer. Their biryani is not that spicy but it has good flavor. It was different than other places but I enjoyed the taste. It has good amount of chicken and gravy so it doesn’t feel dry either. The chilli chicken was good too but it was very spicy which sometimes felt overpowering. But if accompanied with some rice it tastes well. They offered a free tea as well.
I had the desi hot guntur biryani. One of the best biriyani I had, right amount of masala vs rice amd the rice was perfectly cooked. The masala in the biriyani was flavourful. The chicken 65 was average , flavour was ok. Definitely would go for the biriyani again.
Ordered punugulu and mirchi bhajji on a rainy day. Wow they were just amazing. Would try their biryani next next time for sure
Was here to pick up some to-go . Place had just opened and our order was taken, prepared and handed quite quickly. We ordered 1. Idlis - 4 / 5. Fluffy and warm to touch, but could havve been softer or maybe that is the way they make it here, but very tasty. 2. Vadas - 3 / 5 very crispy and tasty but very oily to the touch and the oil used had a very different taste . 3. Ulavacharu Masala Dosa - 5 / 5. this was different and very tasty. Loved that this had very little to no oiliness. But the true standouts were the condiments !!! Fresh , different and very very tasty. They were 1. Coconut Chutney - 10 / 5 freshly made from sweet, juicy coconuts, certainly the star condiment. 2. Ginger-Jaggery Chutney - 5 / 5 very unique and very different and of course very tasty. Am guessing this maybe their USP, as this was given in a smaller quantity . 3. White Sesame / peanut chutney - 5 / 5 very tasty , healthy agaIn a winner! 4. Tomato chutney - 5 / 5 standard chutney served by other places too, but this was very welL made and tasted amazing!! 5. Potato Masala - 5 / 5 filling inside the Dosa and again standard but done very well. Overall , will be back soon to have a sit down meal and then paste food photos!!
We have been here so many times because the food is so delicious! I recommend trying the vijaywada chicken biryani because it is just outstanding. It’s personally my favorite biryani ever. If you go on Sundays they have a buffet. The staff are very friendly and they have quick service. I hope that if you go you and whoever you go with will enjoy UluvacharU.
Absolutely stunning, had weekend buffets this weekend on both sat and sun, it's close to my new home so I am looking forward to eating a lot here, hopefully quality doesn't go down. I am looking forward to come here for weekday buffets also
The buffet is a steal. Ala carte has incredible Southern Indian dishes. When feeling home sick, easiest way to feel better is grabbing a bite here.
Me and my husband go here every Sunday. We've been to different Indian restaurants but we keep coming back to this one. Food is great especially the goat curry on sundays and the service is excellent!
Unbelievably good biriyani. Great buffet but for that price you need to be a big eater. The pressure for table turn over makes for a bit of a rushed experience. The seating and the overall facilities are adequate but the food is the star of this restaurant.
My visit to UlavacharU Indian Restaurant was a culinary adventure. The Chicken Tikka Kabab for starters was a burst of flavors that left a lasting impression. The UlavacharU Chicken Biryani, with its horse gram sauce providing a tangy twist, was intriguing, but I'll stick to my regular chicken biryani next time. Looking forward to exploring their non-veg thali on my next visit!
I walked in here after seeing a YouTube review from a food show and was already to order. When lo and behold I was told this location does not serve dosas etc...The location on the YouTube review was 2 to 3 miles down the street another branch... Since I was already here and eat Non vegetarian too I decided to eat lunch here. I quickly looked up the reviews for this location and was not impressed. They were not good..... I looked at the Menu and decided to order anyways...The waiter was not friendly at all. I saw the cashier walk by so I asked her what should I eat. She suggested Vijaywada Chicken biryani. I generally prefer Goat over Chicken. She said it did not come in the Vijaywada style so I ordered the Chicken. For appetizer I ordered the Punkulu... Result.... The Biryani was delicious so yumm6 the meat was succulent and soft. The Punkulu was great too for a snack. A must visit place for Indian food lovers. I have to add although the waiter was not good the server, the man who got the food from the kitchen was super friendly and nice. He even talked to me about the different dishes and which one is a must try. His name is Ernesto...ask for him if you need suggestions! The menu does not have the right prices. I paid $3 more than what the menu said Enjoy
The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that it doesn't have AC inside and only one fan on the left side section. The food is tasty. The weekend buffet had around 20 items. They are continuously bringing Naan to the tables and serving. The cleaning crew is cleaning the plates very frequently. Their tea doesn't have sugar in it. They are serving beer for one cent along with a buffet. They do have live Pani Puri. It was busy by 12.15pm on Saturday. They served mutton biryani, chicken biryani, and veg biryani. The menu had butter chicken, Andhra chicken curry, egg curry, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, mutter paneer, hot Pongal, pulihora, punugulu, Gobi 65, peanut chutney, roti pachadi, tomato chutney, mango pickle, jilebi, gulab jamun, boondi laddu, curd , buttermilk, mango lassi and tea. Their chintachiguru pappu was authentic. It's a kids friendly restaurant. The food is not spicy as many non-Indians were eating.
Loved it. Unlimited buffet for $20. My favorite was Gobi 65. Gobi Manchurian is very common while Gobi 65 is not. I was glad to find it here. And I was sold when I saw curd(yogurt) prepared in a mud pot. The curd had a nice hay touch to it. You have great vegetarian and vegan options here. The custard was very good. Filling meal! Parking might be difficult if there are any events. Otherwise, it should be good.
First time visitor to their establishment and apparently, you just help yourself to their buffet. No menu needed or even available. There's a few assorted drinks to the left (mango lassi, chai tea, water) where the informal line begins. I'm only a beginner at Indian dishes but there must've been over a dozen various vegetarian items many of which I've never enjoyed before but they did have paleek paneer, dahl, a type of masala with cheese, crispy fried something, 2 types of rice, etc. There were also a few meat dishes including a tender tandoori chicken, 2 types of chicken curry. Unlimited hot garlic naan and a pitcher of water was brought to your table. The place was very crowded even for a weekday lunch which made it kinda muggy inside especially with the spicy dishes. Buffet was $21 per person. I almost didn't believe him when I heard the words "there's beer" followed by "it's free". I almost jumped out of my seat towards the front near the cashier a small tub filled with various domestic bottles of beer (e.g. Budweiser, High Life, Bud Light, Stella). He jokingly asked who was driving and I pointed to my wife.
Ulavacharu offers a really good buffet with plenty of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The variety is impressive, and the flavors are consistently delicious. It’s a bit on the pricier side compared to other buffets, but the quality of food and the range of choices make it worth it. I always enjoy coming here — it’s a great spot when you’re craving a good, satisfying Indian buffet!
Very silple looking place with delicious food. The menu is not huge, but there is something for everyone. Our party of five had no issues finding veg and non veg options for dinner. Very quick service. I wish they had filter coffee though. Plenty of parking in the spacious parking lot.
Ordered bhatti ka murg (Tandoori chicken) on Wednesday. This was my second time ordering tandoori chicken as the first time it was good but salty so thought second time it wouldn’t be. When I ordered requested them to make it less salty however it wasn’t. I called them to inform the same but didn’t get a proper answer. Not sure if anyone has had gone thru this. I also got chicken biriyani and it was good. Also if you ask for extra raita (curd)for biriyani they charge $1 extra . Seriously who changes extra $1 for Raita Update:02-Charminar and Chicken dum Biriyani tests better then any other places in Santa Clara area hence giving 5 rating Update:03- The buffet veg options were good Update:04-The food tastes as delicious as ever, with no changes to its quality. They continue to improve while maintaining the same high standards. I hope they keep up the excellent quality and flavor.
One of our favorite spots to get TOGO. We enjoy the curries and the biryani. Some times the dishes are at the right spice level and sometimes it is not. It is mild. The plain rice that goes with the curry isn't the best. If they could improve on anything is their white rice. Their naans are fantastic.
I came to UlavacharU for their weekend lunch buffet — and left already planning my next visit. The variety was impressive, but it was the authenticity and bold flavors that really stood out. From biryanis to curries to fresh dosas, everything tasted like it was made with heart and tradition. As someone who isn’t Indian, I wasn’t sure what to expect walking in — but the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. They were kind, helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the dishes and answering questions. I felt completely comfortable and appreciated. The Babycorn Manchuria was crispy and addictive, the Okra Pulusu was tangy and comforting, and the Tandoori Chicken was perfectly charred and juicy. I also loved the desserts — especially the Pineapple Kesari and the Boondi Laddu, both of which were the perfect sweet finish. UlavacharU offers a true taste of South India, and the buffet is a fantastic way to explore it all. Authentic, delicious, and full of heart — can’t recommend it enough.
Really good weekday buffet for $21. We went on a Wednesday and they had both South and North Indian food. Apps were samosa chaat, gobi manchurian, Mysore bonda. Mains included paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chana masala, bhindi, veg biryani, tomato dal, and Hakka noodles, as well as lemon rice, rasam, sambar and curd rice. Buffet also includes mango lassi and masala chai. Food felt pretty fresh and flavorful, despite us coming toward the end of the lunch time. I’ll definitely be back! Veg and non-veg sections are separate for those concerned about cross contamination.
Didn't expect the Indian buffet quality. it surprised us that each item was very tasty. we just stepped in without knowing that it could be a buffet offer. Butter naan was very fresh (right from the oven) and each item (both veg and non veg) didn't disappoint at all. Variety of dishes in each segment (starters, mains, curries, deserts, juice, tea etc.,)
I absolutely love this place! The sambar, rasam, biryani, and yogurt rice are simply delicious. If you're craving authentic Indian, especially South Indian cuisine, I highly recommend dining here with friends. While weekends come with a considerable wait time, it's definitely worth it. The restaurant is clean, and the perfect indoor temperature makes it easier to enjoy the spicy biryani. Kudos to the Indian chef for crafting such amazing dishes!
There are some places that can make the ordinary seem glorious, this place is surely one! The buffet is delightful and I am sure they had run out of naans because of our group! The servers were like our trusted companions who knew what we wanted. The space is airy and well-lit and most importantly, it is clean. The buffet pricing is unbelievably reasonable and I would recommend the mango lassi and the ragda patties/pattice.

service is good. Food tastes excellent and this is coming from a food snob who doesn't like many Indian restaurants in the US. Ambiance is average but that is not what they are selling here.

so good! Definitely go. I asked my mailman who is Indian where is the best indian food around here besides home cooked and he recommended me this place. I love the options, the drinks, and the kind…
Food service and quality! There are many that claim good Buffett food and it's not! I will be returning.
Very good buffet! Fresh naan and free beer! Service was a bit slow with the naans but otherwise it was a good selection of food
The best in town! Really good food and great hospitality. ambiance could be improved a bit.
Food is fantastic. ambiance is fast casual. Service is attentive. Very authentic Indian cuisine.
Carpet pungent smell invites you right from the front entrance to the bathrooms. Food is good if you can hold ur nose for the phinoil smell! Tried dinner thali , which they will simply fill with all the available curries with out asking. So much of waste. They could instead bring empty plates and ask customers what they would try. Food is great, hope they give a thought with the smell!
Genuine Indian food with a local crowd. All in all a makes a pleasant and satisfying evening. Butter Chicken was extremely delicious and sweet. Young goat curry has very tender meat but too spicy. Nam was good and fresh but doesn't have that delicate texture when you peel the layers. Also they have free milk tea, which is delicious.
I ordered the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani and Pepper Chicken. The biryani was decent—not the most flavorful, but still enjoyable. However, the Pepper Chicken was a bit of a letdown. I was expecting a dry, fried version, but what I got was more of a curry-style dish. The taste was just average and didn’t really stand out. The atmosphere was fine, nothing fancy but decent enough for a casual meal. Service was prompt, and the staff was polite. Overall, it was an okay visit—nothing particularly memorable, but not bad either. Might give it another try to explore other items on the menu.
I have been to this place few times, mostly lunch Buffets. Recently visited for dinner. Ordered Chicken Dum Biryani, Mirchi ka parata and Baigan ka bharta. Biryani was excellent, really enjoyed it. Same with Mirchi ka parata, I have not had this in any other restaurant in bay area. This is worth trying. Baigan ka bharta was pretty good. Place was crowded. as usual. Being sunday there were lot of folks picking up takeout orders. Service was reasonably fast. Highly recommend this place.
A quick huddle with a group of friends and we ended up deciding to grab a bite at Ulavacharu. Drive in their and found a convenient parking spot right outside. They do have a buffet option though the time we arrived in, they were only serving the a la carte menu. We started off with Punukulu and long fin tilapia for our starters ( couldn't grab pictures in time ) along with the sauce that is served with Punukulu. The fish tasted fresh and was nicely done. Punukulu tasted fresh and good to the palate as well. Moving on to the main course we ended up ordering the Guntur Egg Bhurji, Paneer and Mitch ka salan and Pepper chicken along with garlic and butter naans. To fizz down the spice levels we had to order mango lassis as well along the way. Pardoning the spice level the food tasted decent though there was definite room of improvement in the paneer dish. Egg bhurji came out a bit dry but was good overall. Pepper chicken was delicious though hot and we had to calm it down with the lassi in almost every other bite. Overall I would give them a 3.5 to a 4 and recommend them for their a la carte menu.
I visited the banquet for a baby shower party. The banquet is next to the restaurant, and they served the buffet lunch. It’s an Andhra style buffet with chicken dum biriyani and all. I loved gobi manchurian and chili chicken as appetisers. The food was spicy ( not too much though) and aromatic. They had good selections of both veg and non veg dishes. The banquet was spacious, and clean. We decorated ourselves and took them off at the end. Overall, pretty good.
1st time here & there were so many variety of vegetarian dishes & about 5-6 dishes with meat. The line was crazy long and had to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes during peak hours each time you go to get food. I saw the server refill the goat curry curry, and I scooped it up right away. When I ate it along with the buttered, chicken and fish, it was literally Luke warm to cold. I told the server which he had 3 guys replaced the foods right away so that was a good thing. There is a waiter that comes by every 10 to 15 minutes to refill your naan basket automatically, so no need wave down someone, so another plus. The beer is literally free and included in the buffet price cost $.10. This place is sort of like a house, but converted into a restaurant. They have multiple rooms and also banquet room & outdoor seating. Overall, I will come back again but right when they open.
I did the decoration for my client who was organizing a birthday there (I’m a party planner/decorator) and the space was nice. They could give the banquet hall a fresh paint and some repairs but the space is big and kind of nice. Definitely a place to consider if you’re doing an event and would love Indian food.
The food was tasty. But we got the first serving of cold dishes. After bringing up the issue, it was resolved but we had finished eating by then. I consider this a one off event. They have unlimited thaali - veg and non veg for a decent price. There’s like 20 items in that thaali with a few that come at first and others as an option. Enjoyed this experience.
I’ve been here couple of times, the taste is pretty consistent. Have tried their a la carte menu and Sunday buffet. Their recent buffet after the pandemic was not at par compared to before the pandemic. Nevertheless the buffet had quite a lot of veg and non veg options in appetizers, curries and biryanis. Highlight for me was the biryani, good chicken and mutton biryani. Unfortunately they did not serve dosas with the curries instead it was Kulchas. Food is good but the ambiance is bad, they should improve on the ambiance and service. They have significantly increased the buffer prices to $22 now. Also very limited parking space especially during the weekends.
We had lunch here on Christmas and man, it was crowded! We had to wait at least 45 min to be seated. The buffet had a lot of options both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The food was a little too spicy, but my husband likes heat, so he loved it. I was not too impressed with the ambience, because of the crowds (they really ought to do something about the utilization of the space) but the service was amazing (the water refilled and the dirty dishes being cleared without being asked, serving of breads etc). And the restrooms were clean too.
Had a really nice time at Ulavacharu Restaurant. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. Sindhu stood out with her friendly greeting and kind service. She made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. Definitely a place I’d visit again.
Went there for chicken dum biryani. The biryani was delicious with enough pieces for 1 person.Included a boiled egg a piece of Leon n salad with dahi raita The service took 15 mins after t order was placed which was reasonable. The only thing which could Mar the scores was the unwashed used plates left in the waiting area. The place look old.
I had dinner buffet which they recently started. There was lot of variety, both for veg and non-veg. Given at this price ($23 including tax), food was good. And given very limited option for dinner buffet in the area, this will not upset you. Note: they server dinner buffet only on Thursday. Beside the food and desserts, tandoori roti and dosa are served hot. Tea and mango lassi is self serve. Service was very good, quick with plate collection and asking for dosa frequently.
We had lunch on a weekend. The ambience was great. We had cut mirchi and onion pakora for starters. For main course we had madurai malligai masala dosa along with parotta. The onion pakoras were the best I ever tested. Dosas were very yummy with chutney and sambhar. The cut mirchi had thick covering. Could have been made with thin layer. Overall the food was very yummy.
I came here for the lunch buffet. UlavacharU has a legit Indian Buffet during lunchtime. There were a ton of Indian folks eating here, so you know the food was good! This place gets packed on weekends...I'm talking 30 minute plus wait if you come late or have a bigger party even though the venue is large. This place used to be a bar / club so its not small. There are large rooms where they host private events. Parking can be very challenging, as the lot is not very bid and has an odd layout. ~ Lunch Buffet - 4.5/5 Overall 4.5 **** for the food. I couldn't tell you all the dishes I ate, some were familiar to me others weren't. Most definitely beats going to some chain restaurant. Can't beat the value...

Some interesting items. Food in general is good but nothing spectacular. The most interesting item was probably the appetizer which was jalapeno peppers deep fried in chickpea batter (4 stars). Goat Biryani was not that good...dry and plain (2 stars). The chicken dish (forgot the name) was tender and very flavorful (4 stars). Garlic nan was also pretty good (4 stars). The curry paneer was a bit on the plain side (3*).

Ordered biryani that came an hour late & was average. They take a certain number of online orders so you would assume they only take an order they can actually deliver. I recommend you order an hour earlier. The doordash pickup had to wait an hour.
My dietary preferences: I’m vegan 🌱 Tips: they have 5 vegan gravies (daal, poppu, bhindi, baigan ka bharta and guttivenkai curry). Additionally, tell the waiter check with the waiter to ask the cook if the item you want to order has ghee, butter, milk, cream in these dishes (just in case). Items ordered: 1. Guttivenkai Curry (3.5/5, comes with white rice) It tasted really well, and had a lot of gravy but what I didn't is that it's very oily (could've asked them to make it with less oil), and I couldn't taste the sesame or coconut - it was just a good gravy. 2. Roti (4/5) - good but was a bit burnt. If I knew that the curry came with rice I wouldn't have ordered this, but roti does taste better. As a vegan, I'd ideally avoid this restaurant as I prefer vegetarian or vegan friendly restaurants (menus having items marked as vegan).
Mediocre at best. Came here on Saturday for lunch buffet, the food was bland, the meats were okay. Some of the food was undercooked, you could take raw tamarind in the rasam and sambar. We’ve eaten here several times in the past, and the food has been really good but very disappointing this time. They have raised prices too. Not coming back here again.
Had a worst Veg Dum Biryani Just spicy chillies and colorful rice, nothing veggie inside. We were searching from all side and scoping to find any veggie, but only got hardly 1 or 2 pieces of veggies. They really degraded the quality and I am in search of changing my best Biryani place now.
The worst restaurant I went to. I read reviews and planned to go there. I felt like this is overrated restaurant. Service - we asked for few things and felt like person doesn’t care to answer in a nice way. He was making faces and it was rude. One good thing he did is elaborate the dish we didn’t know and when we asked to give a sample to taste, he denied. Well that’s ok, anyway we are not planning to visit there ever. Gobi Manchurian - as you can see in my picture, there is something blackish kind of thing. I felt like it’s a bug 🐛. Taste wise also dish was okay. Mostly sour like tomato sauce and it was oily. Paneer chilly - paneer wasn’t cooked properly and after few bites I felt like I am having a chewing gum dipped in tomato sauce. It was my worst experience. Malai kofta - this was the only dish we enjoyed and it was really good in taste. After a long time I had a good malai kofta and that’s the only reason I gave extra star. Biryani - I felt like having a plain unsalted rice having some masala. We ordered paneer biryani and we found hardly 4 to 5 pieces of paneer in there. And the quantity of veggie was very less. I DON’T recommend this place.
I called to enquire the buffet menu and the guy who lifted is so rude! He said “I can’t sit here and read out all the items for u” and hanged up! Is this how you respond to ur customers and run a business!? Really really bad and disappointed!
We did takeout- the butter chicken and chicken tikka were very bland, the white rice was unsalted, they gave us plain naan by mistake, and they forgot our lassi (I discovered that before I drove away at least). FYI, entrees come with rice (so we over bought on that).
Went after reading reviews and rest is below. Ordered three items Gobi Manchuria and chicken dum biryani & thumbs up. Only thing tasted good was the thumbs-up Gobi Manchuria was so sweet, felt like the queen bee just flew out of the plate with her army. Lastly the biriyani, frankly I'm still in shock. No flavor no salt burnt spices it was just good looking. Tasteless, soulless felt like I met my ex boss. Egg on the biriyani was right out of the refrigerator, cold as my wife's heart
I went to UlavusarU in Sunnyvale today for lunch and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. I was not familiar with the dining process here, so I walked in directly. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude and started yelling at me, saying things like “you should have asked me before entering” and “you are just walking away like that.” As a first-time visitor, I expected some courtesy or guidance, not to be yelled. It was embarrassing and unwelcoming, and I ended up leaving without even having my meal. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but this kind of customer service is not acceptable. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because first impressions matter. Date visited: 08 Sep 2025
This is one of the worst-managed restaurants I’ve ever visited. The woman handling table reservations was extremely rude, with an attitude that made it seem like she didn’t care about her job and was doing us a favor. I don’t know her name, but her behavior was unacceptable. I was hosting guests and ended up standing for half an hour, which was incredibly embarrassing. When I called earlier the same day, they told me they don’t take reservations over the phone—yet offered no solution when we arrived. The food was just okay, but the service and management left such a bad impression that I will never return. You’re better off choosing another place.
There was hair in the dessert and the staff did nothing about it when asked. They didn't even apologize and had a bad attitude. Bad experience overall
Very bad service with reckless attitude staff, I ordered catering for 25 people and I received it for 15 people, not satisfied at all, be aware of their cheating , I got 1 and half inch trays for non veg items which sufficient for 10 people only, I highly recommend Himalayan kitchen over this overconfident/non reliable restaurant. Look another simple example with raita and salan, do not even go to main course , how this will be sufficient for 25 people refer to pictures
I ordered Ulavacharu Chicken Biryani, but it was disappointing.” • “The Ulavacharu Chicken Biryani I got was the worst I’ve had.” • “I ordered Ulavacharu Chicken Biryani, but it didn’t taste good at all.”
Very disappointed with the quality of service , the food entrees and the overall ambience I think the management changed and the quality is poor. Even when we raised concern over the food quality and the taste being super bland, they didn't mean to care or try to change anything about it They definitely need to work on all these aspects Wouldn't be coming anytime soon
We went for dine in here and ordered for the non veg thali. Initially it looks good to me but all of the curry’s are trash.you can’t taste it literally.Chapathi is like pita bread you have to fight for break it and biryanis and Dal and desserts are ok ok.I think they are adding food soda.thats why you feel like you had more food.it’s just worth of 6$ for non veg Thali and moreover I saw housefly roaming on our food we were focusing on housefly instead of the food.just think about in kitchen area such a Unhygienic place. If you go to restroom you can see the shady kitchen area. Please provide good and tasty food 2-3 items in Thali instead of 12 items to attract customers. There is no 0 stars otherwise it deserved for it.If anyone likes these are the items means it’s fake or basically they are tasteless about food.
They are so so rude. I called to ask about the menu in a very polite way. And they were so rude. I understand you guys might be busy to clear queries but u dont have to be rude to a customer and cut the call. You can politely convey in a different way if something is not possiblt from ur end. How can you expect the customer to show up when u were so rude over the call?
Updated review: 5 stars to UlavacharU's management staff, who followed up with this review & promised an investigation into the matter, ensuring that actions would be taken to avoid such situations in the future. Very pleased with the management team's response & service. Original Post: Extremely disappointment with the recent catering order I placed. While the other items delivered were okay, the vegetable biryani was much worse than anyone had imagined - there were hardly any vegetables at all, and it was more like plain rice that had been heavily spiced with dry powder. My guests and I, who had previously trusted and patronized your catering service, are really unhappy and feel deeply let down by this stark decline in food quality. As a loyal customer, I am very disheartened with this kind of experience.
Dinner menu on weekends has very limited Andhra/ Telangana menu and the food is horrible. Bread basket is completely uncooked. Forget about the curries. Not worth commenting. Recommend to not to go to this restaurant if you prefer Andhra/ Telangana food for dinner. Don’t Waste of money and time.
Went here for lunch buffet because it was conveniently next to our hotel. Food was mediocre, not very hot (temperature, spiciness was fine) asked for naan from the uninterested waitress, it never arrived, then we were told they were closing. Seemed overpriced for what you get. Perhaps it was because we were there for the last hour of the buffet (1:30-2:30). Won’t be back to find out if it’s any better at noon.
Do not fall for the catering menu. We recently placed an order for 25 people, and most of the dishes arrived in small trays, except for one biryani option that came in a full tray. This was very different from my previous catering experience with them, where the portions were much more reasonable and consistent. Unfortunately, both the quantity and overall quality have declined significantly. The taste is no longer what it used to be, and several items felt subpar. What made the experience worse was the response when we called to clarify the portion sizes—the interaction was rude and unhelpful, with no effort to address the concern. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this place for catering orders anymore. Very disappointing.
Visited yesterday ordered three kind of biryanis, Vijayawada, Charminar and veg biryani. Taste was awful, and gross. Seemed liked rice from other biryani was kept over Charminar biryani. The eggs over the biryani was awfully cold as directly taken out from refrigerator. I am ordering from this restaurant from past 2 years but the taste has came down so much
It’s been years… we are having UlavacharU veg. / paneer / chicken biryani. It’s was same taste and texture. But not the quality and the taste both gone down 👎every time there is one or other thing, sometimes vegetables are less or blend taste , sometimes spices leave is on high. Couple of times the rice was not cooked well . Today I ordered one veg. And one g. Chicken biryani, vegetable biryani taste like I am having cloves rice, it burnt your tongue. And was cold biryani. Seriously very much disappointed. Think before you order!
I have been a regular customer of ulavacharu restaurant for quite some time and have always appreciated the quality of the food and service in the past. The dishes used to be flavorful, freshly prepared, and consistently enjoyable, which made this place one of my favorite dining spots. However, over the past few months, I’ve noticed a clear decline in both the taste and overall quality of the food. The flavors no longer seem as balanced or authentic as they once were, and some dishes that were previously excellent now taste quite different. It’s disappointing to see such a noticeable change from the high standards the restaurant once maintained, they serving semi cooked food. In addition, it has become increasingly difficult to reach the restaurant by phone. Calls often go unanswered, making it challenging to place orders, make reservations, or ask simple questions. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and works on improving both the food quality and customer communication. This restaurant has great potential, and I would love to see it return to the level of excellence it was once known for.
No idea how this place has a 4.0 rating — must be for dishes I didn’t get. I ordered Chettinad Chicken and Chicken 65 through DoorDash, and both were disasters. The Chettinad was unrecognizable with a weird, off flavor, and the 65? Boiled chicken tossed with mustard seeds, light fried, zero tanginess, zero spice. That was honestly junk and inedible. I actually went back to double-check my order to confirm that I ordered the correct items. First time from here — and definitely my last.
