Best restaurant in the area. Excellent service, fresh gourmet food and a stunning view of the bay at sunset. One can't go wrong here. Enjoy
Really enjoyed food, service and view. Will definitely go back.
The settings with windows giving views of the bay adds to the ambience even on cloudy and gray evenings. The service is pleasant without being fawning. The wild mushroom soup was prepared to a fine perfection. The perenial shrimp tempura is classic and always a good choice. A full bar and a good wine list is available along with easy parking. Conversation is always possible with no more than low background volume. I don't think that the music is really needed, but at least it's unobtrusive.
The food here is always served quickly, hot and fresh. We love the waterfront location. The waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend the baked clams and crab cakes!
The view alone makes it great. Add the service & food and it's off the charts. One of my faves. And best baked clams on LI... house made pineapple Tito's on the rocks was perfect!
Atmosphere, service, and delicious menu selections. Went for lunch and had the Classic Burger and others had the Chicken salad and Fish and Chips. It was a nice peaceful time and that enhanced the experience.
My boyfriend surprised me with this gem on our 1st anniversary. The staff was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable with the menu. The food was superb with no reservation. The waiter surprised us with a Happy Anniversary faux cake and then brought us desserts of our choice. Did I mention the view? Besides the food, most who come here love to breathe the fresh air and stunning views of the water.
Beautiful location, view and delicious food...great choices on menu
I had the amazing dinner & time in this place. This was my first fine dinning ever. When we got there we saw people dressed fancy & we were in jeans & t-shirt. So you can imagine how uncomfortable we were. But our waitress Kathy made me feel so wonderful. She said, we're here for the same reasons as they are, don't feel uncomfortable & don't ever think that they're better then you are. During the entire night I was she made me feel so good & she was kind 2 us. I would definitely come back to this place. Besides the staff treated us good, the good was amazing. It was expensive, but it was worth it. Thanks Kathy.
Incredible dining experience from wine to dessert. Perfect portions, exquisite flavors, fresh & delicious seafood. Not to mention the service was amazing from hostess to waitress - we felt very well taken care of & had such a delightful evening.
The Food was amazing and the service was exquisite, trulyba memorable experience while meeting the parents and the wait stafd was very accommodating!!!
We had a fantastic meal in the most beautiful setting! Decorated for Halloween (which my wife loved!), and excellent staff. Really enjoyable and the view is unbelievable.
I'm still not comfortable going out to a restaurant I prefer an outdoor table. Trumpets has an outdoor section on the water. The service and food were fantastic. We had the seafood tower which consisted of cold lobster, jumbo shrimp and baked clams and tempura shrimp. Our entrees were also outstanding. (Halibut and chicken dish) Very good restaurant
Seafood is fantastic. Surf and turf amazing. Comfortable environment with amazing bay views. Prices are high but so is the quality and presentation of the food. Love it 😍
My wife and I went here for a late lunch yesterday. It was our 38th anniversary. One of the best meals I've had in awhile. Food, Service, and especially atmosphere all off the charts. It's not cheap, but quality rarely is.
Excellent food and fantastic drinks! It's a beautiful restaurant with amazing views of Moriches Bay.
We went early and did the lunch special, which was well worth it. Salad was fresh and the fish (grouper) was delicious. Lunch even included fabulous rice pudding for dessert! Situated right on the water, with views of Moriches Bay. Will definitely return.
A treasure. Stunning location. Intimate, good service. The Tuna "Tar Tar" is impeccable. Love their fish & chips and luncheon salads. Excellent value considering the quality of the food and appointments. Wish they'd ditch the faux flowers & greenery. That's the only downside to this gem.
Wonderful, upscale dining. Defineatly fine dining without the pretentious vibe. Very friendly and welcoming staff, giving great service. Delicious and inventive dishes are served to you in a lovely intimate environment right on the bay. Great views, tasty food, ambience, wonderful service; what are you waiting for.
Love this place. My wife and I got married here 10 years ago. They did an exceptional job for us. We enjoy the food, service and ambiance. I've never been disappointed
Been meaning to try this restaurant for years and we finally made our way there. We were pleasantly surprised as we didn't know what to expect. The restaurant was more upscale than we imagined and the food was excellent. The only issue we had was our entree was brought out while we were still having our appetizers. Wasn't pleased with that, but will definitely give it another try.
My husband and I were out for a drive and decided to look for someplace to dine on the water. We came across this place by chance (Google) and couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived without a reservation and slightly underdressed; but were greeted by a delightful hostess, served by a very attentive staff, and the food was top notch. Our compliments to the chef. We look forward to returning.
My husband and went here for a date and we had such a wonderful experience. From the moment we came we were greeted very friendly and felt welcomed. Our food was super delicious from appetizers, drinks and the main course was amazing and delicious! The waitress was very friendly and nice. The place was very well decorated clean nice easy music playing. We had such an amazing night. We will definitely be coming back and would recommend this place!!
Absolutely the best experience! Thank you for all your efforts to make everyone feel special ❤️ Would like to purchase a gift certificate for our friends.
Such a stunning view and amazing restaurant. Not the first time there but always impressed with both the food and service. Everything was just amazing! Highly recommend!!
Zero... Racist Karen called the police on me because I was walking along the bulkhead (the equivalent of walking on the sidewalk) on a Sunday. No customers not one person there... But because I didn't heed to her demands the cops came asking for my id saying Karen told them I was trespassing. And on her property. Sorry officer "that is not accurate". No signs! I guess no matter how successful you are as a minority if you don't answer to Karen then you're a criminal. A decade and a half of psychotherapy experience means nothing. She could use a few sessions. If I give one star no one will read this .. Hence the stellar performance!. Enjoy critics!
My husband and I recently celebrated our Anniversay at Trumpets. We dine alot of places, and this was by far one of the most pleasant dining experiences we had in a long time. Staff was great, especially our waiter Will, and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return soon with friends.
The food was great and everything came out in a reasonable time. The restaurant was decorated very nice also. My wife and I enjoyed a very lovely dinner on Valentine's evening. Will definitely come back. If I have to give a negative comment, the mask wearing by our waitress was very difficult to understand her. She also made absolutely no eye contact with myself or my wife. She was always looking everywhere else but at us while she was attending to us. My wife and I go out to dinner at least twice a week and I like good service and I want my waitress or waiter to be attentive. This waitress was none of the above.
I wouldn’t hesitate to “highly”recommend Trumpets on the Bay for a summertime wedding reception. The food is amazing, especially if you’re a seafood lover. Not your typical wedding dishes which was a nice change. The view of the water, as the bride walks down the isle (if you plan to host both the ceremony and the reception here) is really beautiful!! And dancers, no worries, there’s plenty of room on the dance floor. We had a Great time 👍🏼👍🏼
Being right on the bay, the view spectacular. We went for my mother inlaws birthday and the food was 10/10. The steak was one of the best I have had in my life, with the vegetables being a close 2nd. Would recommend for any special event. They also have a catering hall for big events
Hostess needs to polish up on service. We ordered drinks at the bar and she did not offer to put them on a tray and bring to the table. That is a fine dining restaurant. Food was fantastic.
This place had great views, great service, great atmosphere and great food. My first time here I would definitely come back again.
Food was phenomenal and our waitress was super kind and attentive!
Had a lovely lunch at Trumpets today, six old friends gathered and had a lovely time. As always, views were spectacular, service was wonderful and food was delicious. Thank you so much!
Trumpets on the Bay was an excellent experience for a small family wedding we had recently. The venu is small, and having the ceremony on the deck was pretty much maxed out at ~40 people but the view was beautiful. The staff were very attentive prior to the ceremony, and held the lunch recepion after. The staff continued excellent friendly service thoughout the day. The menu was pre set, but all the food came out perfect and tastey. Would recommend checking this place out for a wedding venu or lunch/dinner.
We had a fantastic meal and time. Service was what you expect from a great restaurant. One of my favorites.
My husband and I went here for lunch and it was terrific. Mary, our server, made the experience wonderful. The grilled Filet Mignon with creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes was perfectly prepared. The margarita to start was excellent and we shared some crazy decadent chocolate creation for dessert. All in all a great meal with a lovely view. I highly recommend for an upscale meal that’s worth the cost these days.
Went to dinner for my birthday with my best friend. Everything was perfect. View was amazing, service was on point and the food........pure perfection. Best filet mignon I've ever had. I know this all sounds made up but honestly....best dinner, dessert (creme brulee) and Lemon Drop martinis!!!! Highly recommend without a doubt!!!
We have enjoyed special occasions at Trumpets for many years. It has been consistently excellent and we have never been disappointed. Don't forget the amazing crab cakes.
We took my mother out to enjoy a delightful pre-holiday dinner at Trumpets on the Bay in Eastport. What a treat! The photos don't do justice to the waterfront view or how beautifully the restaurant was decorated. Professional service, excellent meal. Truly a special night out, highly recommended.
Our Halibut was perfect and our waitperson was helpful as was all the staff. Trumpets is located on the water and the views were spectacular. Although it was foggy and raining when we arrived, the sun and a rainbow came out before we left. They are following Covid regulations such as masks for the staff. It is fancy but relaxed.
Trumpet's on the Bay in Eastport is a local restaurant that offers spectacular views of the bay and an outstanding menu featuring fresh seafood and a variety of other delectable choices. The attentive staff provides a wonderful dining experience. There is ample indoor seating, where every table enjoys the scenic view. We went with the grandkids and had a nice dinner. There is ample parking on site.
Ate dinner there just at the end of the season and it did not disappoint. This is is your blow the budget restaurant - but the food, the service, and the view is worth every dime. Wonderful greeting, seated at a water view, prompt service and great conversation with Walter. My niece had the seafood tower as her main and my sister and I ate from the restaurant week menu. The crab cake, crab stuffed grouper, pear salad and stuffed pork chop were faultless. A beautiful experience for my family. Go there, make a memory and enjoy a first class food experience!
Wow! Delightful and amazing in more than a few ways! Let’s break it down: Clean ✔️ Nice interior ✔️ Nice party rooms ✔️ Gorgeous exterior ✔️ Good drinks ✔️ Quality food ✔️ Service ✔️ We visited for my niece’s 1 Year Old birthday party this weekend! I got the filet which was melt in your mouth good and my family got the grouper which was also melt in your mouth good. They handled my dairy allergy very well which made me feel safe. Warm rolls with meal were delicious. The drinks weren’t weak, they were strong in a good way 😎. The space and room and decor was great and did the job! The outside was extra beautiful with a Hamptons vibe, lovely pier and mini boardwalk right on the water. Looks like they have weddings here! Loved it and would certainly return. Worth a visit for a date night or night out for a fancy dinner with family :). For more Long Island reviews, visit us on Instagram @andiamoadventure
We have never been to this place before. Friends recommended it and I am sure glad they did. We celebrated our anniversary here. From the very beginning it was special. The hostess was very nice that brought us to our outdoor table and all the staff were wearing masks which made us very comfortable. The waitress could not have been nicer and when asked for extra things, she did not hesitate. First the views, they are spectacular. A truly beautiful view of the bay. The food was great and ordered to our satisfaction. We ordered the seafood tower. What a way to start the meal. We ordered cocktails and my Perfect Manhattan was just that, perfect! My wife ordered the chicken and I ordered the Fillet Mignon. They served my meat exactly the way I ordered it which some restaurants have a hard time doing. All in all Trumpets on the bay made our anniversary very special. I would highly recommend this place.
It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was spot on... friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was high quality... Appetizers, Main Courses and Desserts all wonderful. The only thing missing was the famous view of the Bay... something to look forward to on our next visit!
Love this place...great for romantic night or celebration. The seafood tower app was aweaome. Had the crab cakes which tasted great...but too much breading. As a person who makes maryland crab cakes for themselves...i expect to see 1/4 lb of crab in each cake. They were a little disappointing for a great place like this. Rivera chicken was a little overcooked
Food is delicious. Ambiance is amazing. Staff needs to loosen up. My party was told to quiet down as we were celebrating my wife’s recovery from post Covid stroke. I speak loud. The city folk need to realize this is where us locals live. Shame on the staff for making us feel uncomfortable.
An elegantly appointed restaurant with a beautiful view over the bay. On a busy night staff went out of their way to make sure we would be served as quickly as possible. The lobster starter was impressive and delicious, the veal chop large, juicy and most satisfying. Vegetarian offerings were extremely slim (the only entree suggested was an off-menu pasta primavera). A welcome stop on a mulit-day trip, the place is not really worth the detour.
Beautiful spot for a nice quiet relaxing lunch or dinner. Excellent friendly staff and nice menu selection. Slow sipping cocktails from the bar. From the lunch menu the classic burger and the chicken salad were our choices. The dining atmosphere is just too elegant to start taking pictures of our dishes.
Great views, delicious drinks, nice menu. The food was good. I liked my halibut but I would have liked a slightly thicker, spicier sauce. Dessert was decadent. Service was cordial and professional. Very clean, atmosphere was relaxing. My husband enjoyed his veal chop.
Everything was delicious but the servings were small. Service was excellent!
Trumpets a the Bay is adorable! I love the location with the view and scenic drive there. My sibling treated me to an early birthday dinner at the end of April 2024. The restaurant itself is pristine, waiters were quick and very attentive. The menu is not out of this world but it was truly a nice setting and I look forward to going again! The restroom is also nice and the views are lovely.
Well prepared food, though the menu is not especially imaginative or creative. Very nice view of the bay. Service OK, but on a not terribly busy Sunday night, they seemed to be rushing us.
We have been going to trumpets for our anniversary for several years with friends of ours. We always enjoyed our visit there. The restaurant is beautiful on the water and the service is excellent. However the menu offered very few appetizers. There were several choices for dinner but we were all disappointed by the small portions. My husband got a small halibut filet two asparagus spears and a quarter of a potato on his plate. Our dessert was small as well about half the size of a normal slice of pie. The table across from us that had 6 people and we're seated after us were asked to leave right after they were finishing their coffee because another group was coming at 830 pm. All in all I'm not sure we will be going there in the near future especially since our bill was about $180 per couple. I don't usually write this type of review but felt people should not expect large portions and s feeling of being rushed.
The food deserves 5 stars, but the service did not match the quality of the food. Every dish ordered (soups, salads, appetizers, entrees & desserts) all extremely delicious - flavorful, properly cooked. I can't speak highly enough about the chef & kitchen staff. However, from the moment we walked in, the hostess was curt & unfriendly - zero pleasantries, just "what's the name on your reservation" . The back-servers reached across in front of us to put down drinks (one was spilled) & our bread plates were removed without asking if we were done; in addition to purposefully sliding our individually used butter knives down onto the table in front of each of us. The worst was, being asked to leave... Party of 6, it had only been an hour & a half, some of us still had cocktails to finish, and the hostess came over to tell us they needed the table because "it's a holiday & we're booked full so you need to go".... I'm sorry, but the fact you overbooked is really not our problem! That completely ruined an otherwise lovely Easter brunch. Sadly, this family will not be returning.
Food was very good, but service was horrific. Kitchen took 45 minutes to make 4 salads. Waitress was very unpleasant and clearly had no desire to be there. Horrible attitude, never checked on us, never filled water glasses. I won't be back. If you like good (but overpriced) food with lousy service, strike up the band and head over to Trumpets.
I was very excited to come here after reading all of the good reviews. But the meal was average. The steak was was a good cut but it was ordered medium and came out raw inside, it was sent back and then came out rare. The side of spinach could have been mistaken for seaweed, it was that salty! To end the meal we decided to give the desert a try. Well the cheesecake,v which was supposed to be awesome, was like a store bought one-very disappointing. 😟
Water served smelled like fish. Alcohol drink was sent back. Food server’s top coat needed to be washed and looked like it was worn over and over again without cleaning. Food was average at best.
It's a pretty place with good water front view but that's it. Please need some updating and food was OK. Drink were also OK not the greatest. If place gets a refresher with and updated menu and drink menu it would be a great spot has a lot of potential.
Have been going to trumpets on and off for some time now. Food has always been good. Went on Saturday and was so disappointed. My ceases salad with chicken was awful. My husband ordered fish and chips. Fish was very greasy and fries floppy and greasy. We told staff but just received a sorry and we were offered roast potatoes. Will not be going back
Wonderful dinner but disappointed in our server, never introduced herself , and was “robotic like” in telling us specials and taking our order . It seemed she wasn’t really interested in providing service but did so anyway. Maybe she was having a bad day , who knows … food was excellent, nice variety in the menu . The view is pretty as well :)
Not what it used to be. They had linguini with clams and shrimp, my son in law is alergic to shrimp and asked if they could just make it with clams, the server came back & said the chef would but would have to charge extra! I could understand if we were asking for more shrimp, this was just poor customer service. The view was the only thing I'd recommend going for.
When the waiter said the special was a duck with peach sauce I was thrilled to order it. You can imagine my surprise when the duck came back ridiculously overcooked and with literally not even a full slice of a peach.. from a can.. are you kidding me? The summertime in Long Island with peaches everywhere! I think we need to introduce the chef to one of the many local farmers markets.
Food was excellent. Would have loved to try dessert but the service was so horrible that we waited for 15 minutes for anyone to come back to take the order. By then we were being eaten by mosquitoes. We had to grab a busser to get drink refills. The waiter just didn't pay attention to his tables. He was awful and ruined the experience. The food is fine dining quality but the service is disgusting. Avoid.
Posting primarily regarding the poor service we received tonight. We visited for my father’s 85th birthday, but were not welcomed warmly at any stage of the dinner. Our server was sub par, (primarily in her communication), even though we were one of only three tables occupied. One burger was undercooked, but this was remedied by them grilling it a bit more. Beyond that, the food was good overall. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by the lack of service we received on this visit (it has been very good previously). Given the amount of great restaurants in the vicinity, we will think twice before going back in the future.
6 people thought food ranged from just ok to good, not great. My halibut was a nice piece of fish but my asparagus and roasted peppers were soggy as they were drenched in broth like substance. Incidentally, i was treated rudely by the manager. I mentioned i had a gift card name and entry number but she immediately said i was “scamming her” and after i said can you check your log she refused. So i went home and got it. Upon return, didnt acknowledge the fact that i wasnt scamming her.. i understand she needs to be careful, but immediately treated me like a criminal…
We've been going there for about 20 years, and always had a great meal. Don't know what happened, but the food was very disappointing this time. Crab cakes were 90% bread crumbs. They used to be so much better. Chef's whole response to our question about them was "That's how I make them."
It took over one hour to get our meal. It was mediocre at best. A double surcharge for a salad instead of fries. And when I told him it was terrible they did nothing to try to make it any better. Just excepted their mediocre service and food as pa-normal! So very disappointed exclamation would not recommend in 1 million years!!
Wow. First time here and probably the last. Arrived after a nice day drive through the south shore, referred here by a few. Way before dinner diners, maybe 4 tables outside NO ONE INSIDE. Asked for a 2 person table towards middle of restaurant, told hostess, first time here. Would like a great view of water. She was rude and not happy at all, what a terrible attitude. Sat down, TWENTY MINUTES not a soul came to our table. No drink offer, no water, nothing. We asked a busperson for a server. We should have left. Appetizers ok, no dressing on my salad, asked 3 people, another 10 minutes. Wow. Dinner came and my husband's seafood pasta had a strand of 4 inch wire, called a curly kate, dishwasher stainless steel wire in his 3rd clam. Omg, we flipped. This cleaning curly kate is ILLEGAL in Suffolk county, shellfish is only to be cleaned with a NYLON BRUSH. My husband is 30 plus years in food service. The manager Lance (?) tried to explain. No, no explanation here. That piece of wire if swallowed.....severe complications. Not much done everyone ran away and we told him, this was such a terrible atmosphere since we walked in. And now the wire. We left, refused to pay any bill, took care of our server anyway. And that ignorant hostess station person had the gall to say have a great night as we left. This place needs an attitude and kitchen protocol overhaul asap. Where is Helen the owner?
I never post or comment on restaurants, especially a local one we have dined at many times before but Im so mad about this I have to!!! My husband called last week to make Christmas Eve reservations and was told they weren't opening reservations until Dec 15th . He put reminder on phone and called as soon as it was open. We have a party of 7. He was told today they cannot accommodate 7 people, only 6 and less. The girl on the phone told my husband she would check with management and see what can be done , but that was their reservation rules for Christmas eve. . He got a call tonight from her saying sorry they are unable to accommodate our 7 people. First , i wish they would have let him know only 6 at a at table when he called over 10 days ago!! . I would have called another place earlier! But we waited until they opened their reservation list which is 9 days before Christmas Eve. My aging parents look forward to Christmas Eve dinner at Trumpets. I am beyond disappointed !!!
Our waiter wore a filthy shirt and it was only one pm lunch service! How disgraceful! Everyone there working was nice but in filthy old clothes. Food was very small serve and average quality.
I was taken here Monday for my birthday. It was 4 of us. My dear friends ordered the seaford tower. For $73 saddest tower I ever seen. So not worth it. 3 of us ordered crab cakes. They were horrible. Small Bread cakes which what tasted like tuna fish in it. They gave us 1 roll each which was far from warm and soft. My friends with tip spent $280. No drinks or dessert. I felt terrible for them they felt terrible our meals were horrible. Beautiful surroundings but I dont recommend would never go back. They know what they served us it was low quality wood for top price..
My family and I went about week ago to celebrate my sister in law retiring from teaching. 7 out of the 8 of us got the grouper special. Two pieces of grouper were served. My first piece was excellent but second was raw and chewy. Both of my wife's were raw and chewy. I don't send back food at restaurant so I ate it. At the end of the dinner my sister was taking most of her meal to go. When I asked why, she said to cook it more at home. Once she said that 6 of the 7 of us admitted having at least one piece that was uncooked. Later I mentioned it to the waiter who ask me to show him the uncooked fish. Which I did and he agreed it was uncooked. 5 minutes later he asks for the uncooked fish to show the chef. He then brings it back and gives it back to my sister who then had to throw it out because she doesn't ever send back food. At the end of dinner, nothing was taken off of the bill. Not a glass of wine, not even a coffee. When I mentioned it to the waiter he said it was not up to him. We will not be back.
We had people from out of state coming to NY so we decided to try it. My husband’s chicken was chewy and gross he return it and asked the waitress to bring another dish the chef apparently refused. Made my husband pay for the returned dish till our guest talked to the manager. Our drinks didn’t even have alcohol in it it tasted like just fizzy water. My steak came out with a hair on the plate. Not sure what’s going on but this place isn’t worth it. We are never coming back there again. Don't waist your time and money.
Extremely disappointed. Waited for almost 90 minutes for dinner. Despite the fact that we waited so long and saw numerous tables after us come and go, no apologies by the restaurant were extended - not even an I’m sorry for the delay let alone comping our drinks and/or dessert. I was hoping for a special night as we were there celebrating our anniversary which I had communicated with the restaurant when booking and on confirmation of the res. I Expected better.
Went for a wedding, they should suggest no children, staff had no patience for children of any age. I guess people for get what its like to have children, Some review state food was amazing! where are you dining out people. This can not be one of the finest restaurants in Long Island. I'm from Brooklyn and I get better food at my local pub, with pleasant service. This is not elegant establishment by any means. In order to consider your establishment one of the finest, most elegant, you must do more than have the staff wear white gloves and put an orchard on the plate. The whole event must be spectacular The staff at the Trumpets were all miserable and didn't seem like they wanted to be there, salad was prepared to far in advance, vegetables, were overcooked and runny food was plated like they were in a rush. I will not be going back and would not recommend this venue for a event with children.
Waiter wasn't willing to accommodate my food allergy at all. Very surprised, usually when you are paying top dollar for food, they are able to accommodate allergies. I will be going elsewhere from now on, all the patrons are always so old at this establishment anyways it feels like you are walking into a funeral
This was one of the worst dining out meals in a long time for my mother, who ate there last week. She said: "The food "Pena posta '' dish was WAY overpriced for LOW quality. The desert peach melba was overpriced, small portions not great. I threw out my leftovers. . Beautiful spot decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Excellent service. She wont go there again and tells people not to go there after this experience.
If I could give the a -0 I would! Quite possibly the WORST FOOD AND DINING EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD!! And the manger could have given 2 beans about anything! I will never recommend or return! Just all around TERRIBLE! Food and service were awful!
Absolutely terrible experience. Ordered 3 steaks and had to send them back twice. The first time they came out completely overcooked, and the second time they were practically raw. It’s baffling how a kitchen can miss the mark on both ends like that. Tried to speak with the manager about it, and instead of listening or trying to make things right, she acted like we were the problem. Completely dismissive and rude. Not sure if this place just doesn’t care about quality or customer service, but we won’t be back to find out.
We were really looking forward to dining at Trumpets on the Bay, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t come close to justifying the nearly $900 bill. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, which made the poor service and long delays even more surprising. Our table ordered three filets—all were overcooked. We sent them back, and the replacements came out nearly raw inside. The kitchen ended up throwing the same steaks back on the grill, and while they were finally edible, the rest of our party had already finished eating by then. The crab cakes were another major letdown—overcooked and had a fishy taste that made them hard to enjoy. For a restaurant that presents itself as fine dining, the quality and timing were incredibly disappointing. To make matters worse, when we tried to speak with the manager about the situation, she wouldn’t even look us in the eyes. Her dismissive attitude made it feel like she thought we were making it all up, which added insult to an already disappointing experience. Keep in mind we didn’t ask for money off or a discount. Given the price and the overall experience, we won’t be returning. Definitely not worth it.
