Amar consistently delivers! Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. We had the perfect Galentines celebration there and they decorated our table beautifully. The Lomo Saltado, corn rib appetizers, and the elote cake with ice cream are my go tos. It was a wonderful change of pace to try salmon, pulpo, and some other of their delicious dishes. Highly recommend for date night, girls night, or just because.
I had the pleasure of dining here for a business dinner. Everything from the ambience, customer service, to the food was excellent. We had reservations on a Friday night. Highly recommend reservations. We were welcomed by the delightful aroma of the dishes that were being cooked.😋 I must say our choices surpassed our expectation. Serving portions are well worth the prices. Food was beautifully plated. Lastly every dish was delicious with bold flavors. I will be returning!
Delicious food, fast and friendly service. The desserts were also really good! 🍰
The appetizer and food was amazing. Every bite melts in your mouth. I had the pasta with steak and the meat was cooked to perfection and flavors were delicious.
I honestly loved this place. I’ve been here like 5 times already and it never disappoints. I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday here and the service, food and atmosphere was nothing but perfect. They helped me accommodate my party of 27 people and everyone loved the food and I was impressed with the quick service we got regardless of how many people we were. If you have a chance to go, do it! And you definitely have to try the empanadas de camarón and the cornbread.
Amazing experience! The food was delicious and the portions are generous. Every staff member was kind and attentive. We went with our kids and they loved it! We’re already looking forward to coming back! And don’t forget to try the tres leches maracuya. Best ever!!!
We dined at Amar on Feb 13 at 7:30 PM, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. We had a pre-booked reservation, and even though the restaurant was completely full and the waiting area was packed when we arrived, our table was already secured and we were taken to it almost immediately. Great front-of-house execution. The food was outstanding—flavorful, well-prepared, and clearly crafted with care. The service was attentive, professional, and friendly throughout the meal. The ambience was elegant yet comfortable, and the noise level stayed quiet, which made conversation easy. On value, Amar delivers a premium experience that absolutely justifies the visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality Peruvian-Mexican dining experience. 🔥
Amar is a beautiful Peruvian-Mexican spot with amazing food and great customer service. We didn’t have reservations, so we sat at the bar and still had a really good experience—the staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was very flavorful and clearly well thought out, and the drinks were very good. You can tell they put effort into both the menu and presentation. They also have a lot of dessert options, which was a big plus. The only small downside was that the food seemed to be placed on a heating stand, which made the rice a bit crunchy instead of staying warm while the rest of the meals were being prepared. Another thing I found a little odd was the bathroom situation—it’s located in another restaurant, and for such a beautiful place with nice décor, the bathroom looked more like a gas station, which kind of throws off the overall vibe. Other than those minor details, everything was perfect. Great food, great drinks, and great service—I’d definitely come back.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner tonight at Amar after seeing it come across one of my Instagram foodie pages and also recommended by local locals here in El Paso. As I am here in town for work, I’ve made it a mission to go out and check out different restaurants. I love Peruvian food so this was a no-brainer after I found out about it. I was seated immediately, and I took in one of the delicious Pisco sours followed up with the ceviche Amar. The ceviche was so fresh and full of flavor from the various components, even the aesthetics of the dish was amazing! I ended the evening trying Tallarines Verdes. The green sauce was amazing. I definitely recommend those looking for good and fresh Peruvian food alongside great customer care, and the clean establishment. the price to food quality ratio and portion size was spot on. I will definitely be back to visit soon!
We went as a party of 12 people so I think that makes it a little bit different situation… the food was really good! I enjoyed the mulitas de maiz and elotes, also I got to try the french toast. I thought the service was a little slow but definitely attentive and kind. I think the music was a little louder than what id rather but still could talk… Other than that, really nice experience.
Recently celebrated a friend’s birthday here (party of 4). The food was delicious (see photo of dessert)! The menu has photos which is very helpful. We sat outside on the patio, so the flies were such a nuisance. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were 10/10!! I will definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to family and friends!
Amar is a must try! We were very very pleased with dinner today. We celebrated my sister's birthday and Amar staff did not hold back. They really go out of their way to celebrate you. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the staff was great! Am absolute must in El Paso!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amar with a couple of my girl friends, and I can honestly say it lived up to the fantastic reviews we heard from the community and word of mouth. From start to finish, everything about this place was impressive. The atmosphere was truly beautiful and thoughtfully curated. Every detail, from the elegant cutlery to the gentle table lighting as the sun set, created a warm and inviting ambiance that made our night special. The drink menu was equally impressive, offering a wide selection of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. We tried a few different drinks, and each one was flavorful and expertly crafted — a perfect complement to our meal. Our starters, including the ceviche, were incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. For entrees, everyone enjoyed their dishes, and the desserts were nothing short of creative and delightful. I must highlight the avocado ice cream — it was not only delicious but also visually stunning, molded into an avocado with a dark chocolate shell and a playful chocolate ball pit inside! Truly innovative and fun. The menu here is unlike anything else available in El Paso, offering unique flavors and presentations that make the dining experience memorable. I highly recommend Amar for anyone looking for a beautiful setting, delicious food, and creative desserts. We’ll definitely be back!
I was recommended to this restaurant while we were in El Paso for the night. I honestly can’t think of a restaurant whose food would have surpassed what we had here. For appetizer we got the Papa Rellena which was this fried potato stuffed with beef. So good. For entrees I got the Lomo Saltado. Perfect blend of meat and peppers/onions and the bed of fries was a nice touch. The gravy it was in was perfect, especially paired with the rice. My wife got the Arroz Chaufa, a Peruvian fried rice I guess. But wow what a dish. The meat was plentiful and the rice was seasoned perfectly. Also- the portions were absolutely HUGE. I eat a lot, and granted we had that fried potato as an app, but I couldn’t finish my meal for fear of getting sick. I actually wished we didn’t eat so much so we could have tried the desserts that looked just as appetizing as the entrees. The vibe of the restaurant was 10/10 too. I am not sure if I will ever be in El Paso again in my life but if I am I will surely come back.
Such a lovely restaurant! Everything from the vibes, to the decor, to the food, to the service, was excellent. It was not a planned stop but after an appointment my daughter and I wanted some lunch and we wanted to try something different in the area and we found AMAR. We were both very impressed. We got a few cocktails and the empanada appetizer, so good, the small side green sauce was amazing. I got the arroz chaufa mixto, so flavorful and my daughter got the huancaina truffle pasta with the tenderloin, meat was so tender. Definitely going back! This is a great spot for a date night or a girls night out! Worth the price!
A very nice restaurant, it even has a Tulum vibe, from the moment you enter, the hosts are very friendly. The food is extremely delicious. For starters, we ordered elotes (corn on the cob), a Mexican style, and shrimp empanadas with a tasty special sauce. For the main course, we ordered shrimp ceviche, fish tacos, and pork noodles, which were delicious! For dessert, we ordered tres leches, passion fruit, and avocado cream, which were also very tasty. Drinks from Brasilia included lemonade and chicha, which were also delicious. The cleanliness of the place was excellent.
I enjoyed a lite dinner after work with colleagues. This place has great food with artistic presentation. I love how they go the extra mile to make your plate look as amazing as it tastes. This is a go to restaurant when visiting El Paso. Initial service was great, however attentive waned as time went on. It took quite awhile to get our checks.
We discovered Amar while making impromptu plans for a trip to El Paso, TX. We’re passionate about Peruvian food, and in Dallas, there aren’t many options available. Reservations are made through OpenTable. Upon arrival, our wait time was less than five minutes. The hostess greeted us warmly and showed us to our table near the bar area. Our server approached us promptly and took our beverage order. For dinner, we chose the Amar mixed ceviche and the Lomo Saltado. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing. The ceviche is well balanced, with flavors from octopus, fish, squid, mussels, shrimp, corn, and sweet potato blending beautifully. We ordered the Lomo Saltado medium-rare. I’ll admit that a medium cook might bring out a bit more of the beef’s flavor, but even so, it was very tasty and tender. Overall, I give this visit a 7.5 out of 10. It’s a solid choice for a casual outing while still elevating the concept of date night with Peruvian cuisine.
I had an amazing time with friends celebrating a birthday. Food was beyond delicious, however our waitress came up to clear plates off of the table and I was only about 1/3 into my plate without asking if I was done she picked up my plate and disposed of it. I genuinely thought she was maybe going to package it for me to go as they were close to closing but no my plate was taken away before I was even half ways into my food. I will revisit again, as I stated the food is genuinely delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Hoping for better service next time.
Went here for brunch. Service by the waiter was great and attentive. However, the food and service of the kitchen was disappointing. We ordered three plates and each was brought out at staggered times. We waited an additional 15 min for the 3rd plate (which was the waffles), but watched as the table that came after us received their food first. Overall the dishes seem unique and creative, but service could be improved. In addition, we came when the business had opened at 9:30am not busy at all.
We always come here when we can, it’s one of our favorite places. We got the tallarines verdes, lomo saltado and arroz chaufa mixto. The only reason why it’s not 5 stars is because not only did the lomo saltado have a hair that we caught before eating it but the arroz chaufa mixto had one as well but I already had it in my mouth. I understand they’re busy but genuinely lost my appetite after that. I will try to give this place another try again but definitely will take me some time before I do. Regardless the service was good and they did as much as they could to make it better, I do appreciate that.
The food was delicious, but the service was poor. I have come twice this month and the male and female servers do not know how to handle the volume. Besides that, the male server has a strong attitude. Finally, the manager was very pleasant upon bringing the concern to her, she even apologized several times, that really made it a different. I give the food 5 stars, service 1, and atmosphere 5.
I was very excited to try this restaurant. We decided to skip our usual spot and try this restaurant to support more local spots. My wife and I showed up and it took a while to get greeted but thought nothing of it. We then placed our food order received it fairly quickly and the food was pretty good. However the server never came back to check on us after the food was dropped off. Keep in mind there was a total of 3 tables (us included). We then overheard another server tell the table behind us that their server had left and that he would be their new server and went to the other table as well. Meanwhile still nobody checked on us. We Finished our food, looked around for a waiter .nothing. Finally got up to ask the host for our check and minutes later that same server who had introduced himself to other tables aside from us dropped off the check. The service really made the whole experience bad. Even walking out we as the guest were the ones saying thank you instead of the server initiating the “thank you for coming in” as we were walking out so much for supporting local I guess
