Food was very flavorful and tasted authentic, the food came out pretty fast we ordered butter chicken and some type of lamb , I forget the name of it , the garlic naan was so good dipped in the butter sauce . The waiter wasn’t very friendly but the food made up for the service.
Forgot to take pictures first 😂 I was so excited to try their food. Everything was so goooood , our server (not sure of his name but he may be the owner or manager), was very attentive and knew what to recommend , was also patient and nice. I’ve been trying to find a closer, authentic Indian food spot for years that’s actually close to me, I believe I just found it! Ordered the butter chicken curry & I had lamb curry, along with the lamb samosas! 😋 I definitely recommend.
It was my first time here yesterday and I have to say, I was VERY IMPRESSED with the atmosphere, very clean (even the bathrooms), nicely decorated, very friendly service, and over all, food was very tasteful and delicious. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back again!

This is the best indian food in the area, hands down. Only complaint is that it's pricey so it's more of a treat ourselves meal than a place we'd eat at more regularly. Naan is fab, rice is always perfect and main meals are delightful. Really love this place and want them to stick around forever so go visit them!
I am so happy we chose to eat lunch here. The service was amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes and all of them were delicious. We especially loved the aloo gobi! We will definitely come back again!
Recently got butter chicken from here and I picked the mild spicy. It was perfection. I have gone to a few different spots since and I will come back to this place because it was so good. It's been a few weeks and I still think about this place
First time for me to go to this restaurant (Mr dosa )with my family, the atmosphere was excellent, food was very tasty, and the way they served us was mind blowing, l will give them 5 stars
Really delicious food! I ordered the chicken tikka masala (mild) with basmati rice and it was amazing. The sauce was creamy and full of flavor without being too spicy, and the chicken was very tender. The rice was light and fluffy and paired perfectly with the dish. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Had a great experience at Indian Oven, and special thanks to Ansh for his outstanding service. He was extremely polite, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Ansh has a very positive attitude and genuinely cares about customer satisfaction, which really made our dining experience enjoyable. Service like this truly adds value to the restaurant. Highly recommend Indian Oven, especially if Ansh is taking care of you!

Very delicious butter chicken with a perfect medium heat! The samosas are fantastic, could make a meal of those alone! The onion Naan flavor is my favorite from the Chefs Bread basket. The hot Chai Tea was awesome as well. Plenty of food for another meal after dining alone.
4 1/2 stars. This place opened on 4/11/18. Went on it's first Saturday night. Restaurant is new, beautiful and clean. Food very good. Super friendly service. Drinks always topped up without prompting. Half star off for forgetting an order of garlic naan - it was remedied but got charged extra which was also fixed. Waiter forgot to give menu at the beginning of the service so we had to asked hostess for them. Dirty plates replaced. Other than few little kinks, my family enjoyed the experience.

Our family couldn't decide what cuisine to eat because the plaza had Vietnamese, Sushi, Dumplings, sandwiches, and this Indian food next to eachother. We came in to check out the menu and stayed because it smelled so good! The place is maybe too nice for our toddler but they handled our child very well and even suggested a kid-friendly item (fish pakora). Service was good even though the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes upon arrival. We tried the mixed naan basket with goat in cardamon sauce (Punjabi mutton) and was not disappointed. Although the serving size to $$$ we would come back.
Food: Salad: Nice presentation, however the lettuce have seen better days it is wilted (see picture). The dressing is very good (that is the only one I will give 5 stars on). The rest of the food are just okay. I've had better Indian offerings in other places. Service: Not good...the naan bread should have come with my soup and salad. I have to ask for it twice. No one came and asked how the food was. Lack attention. Very unfriendly bunch. The young lady that took my order is the only one somewhat friendly.

Disappointing experience - I have ordered takeout from here multiple times and each time, the wait is far longer than the promised time. Today, I received my food 25 minutes past the listed availability. The menu now also apparently does not provide rice with the entrees, but is an additional cost. This seems cheap. The food is good, but likely won’t be coming back.
We have been regulars for a while now. We, as others were surprised to find out that rice is not included with the meals. Many other reviews have noted this but they respond with the same canned apology with no change in the menu to reflect the lack of rice. It's inconvenient but if the menu had made it clear that rice had to be ordered separately we would have done so. We drove across EG to our house and skipped our main entree because it doesn't taste right without rice. This feel like a bait and switch situation. We will be heading to our other Indian place in the Pocket in the future.

We ordered online and received an incomplete order. Out of the 5 naan we ordered, only 1 was included. I called the store to let them know, and we then had to drive back to pick up the rest of the order. Despite the mistake being on their end, they only replaced the missing naan. I asked if it would be possible to receive 5 fresh naan instead, since we had brought back the original one that was now cold and had to make an additional 20-minute drive. Unfortunately, they weren’t willing to do that. Had the order been packed correctly the first time, my family could have enjoyed all 5 naan fresh together. While they did offer a small dessert as compensation, it didn’t really make up for the inconvenience. I just wish they were a bit more accommodating considering how much our order total was. Overall, the service was disappointing, and I don’t plan on ordering from here again.
Last night I did a door dash order here. The Naan i ordered were not fresh, they were harder and cold, and there was a hair in the rice. I called the store go let them know what happened and as I'm explaining they hung up. All orders should be of quality.

The restaurant staff and management exhibited unprofessional and unsatisfactory conduct. They imposed an exorbitant party fee of $23 on a group of four adults and two six-month-old children. Despite being seated since 7:00 PM, the food was delayed until after 8:00 PM. This occurred on Valentine’s Day, and the ambiance was subpar. Customers were visibly hungry, and their frustration was palpable throughout the establishment. The staff refused to provide any names or explanations for their actions. This was the most unsatisfactory dining experience I have ever had, and the rude Indian server’s behavior further exacerbated the situation. This incident has led me to question the ownership of the establishment and the quality of customer service. The staff did not even inquire about beverages until I explicitly requested them. There was no apology, discount, or acknowledgment of the due amount. Instead, they insisted they do not care if we did not even pay. This is the worst Indian restaurant in the entire Elk Grove, Northern California. The worst of the people works here. ere.
Ok I love India Oven and they charge you an arm and leg for food but what I really want to know is why these guys are giving me food in a Wing Stop package!!! What about this sh!! Not make any sense!! You all better be careful before Wing Stop files a lawsuit for copy write infringement..

Would not come here again! Ordered multiple items but the waiter did not hear us so brought back less. The waiter argued back with us saying that we were the wrong. How is the customer in the wrong instead of apologizing. Then we waited for the items, but they did not expedite and even at the end still said we were in the wrong. Did not give anything to help with the situation, and would never come here again. Usually I don’t put reviews but this was pathetic, and had to eat cold food just because they don’t want to admit a mistake. Also, 18% for large parties auto tip which was not stated and unfair especially with the poor service.
Ordered the Basil Seekh Kabob. The waiter put the order into his handheld device, THEN said that it would take about 20 minutes. Immediately, I replied that I would order a salad and garlic bread instead knowing of my time constraints. He said that he had already placed the order and showed me his device. I said can't I change it? He replied, No, that he already paced the order, and did I want to order an appetizer. Wow. I was the ONLY customer in the restaurant at 11 am. I could've walked to the kitchen and told the chef myself about the order change. Instead, I walked out. Wonder who enjoyed the kabobs since the order couldn't be stopped. LOL
"🚫 Warning: Avoid Indian Oven at all costs. Extremely poor customer service and a lengthy wait time of over an hour for subpar food. The presentation was an afterthought, and the manager's attitude was unacceptable. Unfortunately, this reflects poorly on the entire establishment. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to do the same. "🔥 Terrible experience at Indian Oven! . Customer service was a joke, and the manager was completely unhelpful. Not worth the wait or the hassle. 👎" Please, somebody pass this note to the owner to shut it down . Asp .
No good customer service. Waiter sucked. Food was horrible. Chicken tikka masala. The gravy was basically water. Chicken was not tikka masala. It was boiled in water and thrown in the water gravy. Chicken Briyani. Was terrible as well. Stale rice. Highly priced for garbage food.

It's so unfortunate that I can't leave a zero star review. Owners were not present tonight (26SEP2025 7:30PM). All staff were more concerned with folding silverware and napkins and staring at cars in the parking lot than serving a 10 party table. Food is awesome!!! It's the best Indian food in Elk Grove: however, you must be prepared to get only one fill of water amongst the whole table, no additional food to be ordered after your initial order and staff will ignore you until it's time to close. There was multiple requests for additional orders of Naan, drinks, rice, and Tea that mostly never arrived and had to be requested through multiple staff over the course of 45 minutes. You literally had to goto the cash register for water....... Won't be returning anytime soon!
Have been a loyal customer for the past year. Make a decent sized order every two weeks or so. Noticed a charge for basmati rice now. Used to be free. Never disclosed that they changed policy, seems shady. Really annoying they nickel and dime over something so small. Congrats on losing my business!
I’ve been coming to India Oven for years, and the food has always been consistently great. However, I was surprised to find that entrées no longer come with rice (even though their in person menu still says they do). With the recent price increase and drecresed food, the overall value of eating here is no longer the same. I’ll be warning my friends and family that going here is no longer worth the cost.
