My brother and I tried this restaurant for the very first time today! Honestly, it was really good! The Basil Popcorn Chicken was flavorful, tender, and crispy! As for the Orange Chicken, it's tasty and saucy at the same time. Finally, their House Special Fried Rice was delicious. However, we couldn't get it without shrimp due to my Seafood allergy. Overall though, this place is great!
I was hesitant to come here as the cuisine was listed as Cantonese, too many places listed as Cantonese serve the horrible steam table various fried rice and noodle dishes along with the dried out pork and chicken dishes. Njoy was a breath of fresh air (this is Cantonese?). Fresh hot Chow fun I haven't had since I left San Francisco. Tender roast duck and BBQ ribs, Hot and tasty wings, and homemade tasting spring rolls ( certainly didn't taste like the frozen rolls all the other places use), fresh, snappy green vegetables and an incredible choice of teas. This is a different place and I'm coming back.
I have tried this place several times now and have had such delicious and fresh food each time. The food portions are plenty, food taste great, saucy, spicy, crisp veggies, and the meat is tender. Besides the variety of great dishes the staff is welcoming, friendly, offer quick service, and happy to suggest new items. I will definitely keep coming and recommend to anyone looking for great Chinese food in the Elk Grove Area.
First time trying and it was quite good we ordered the beef rice roll, bitter melon beef, popcorn chicken, radish beef bowl, and stir fry noodle. All of the dish was delicious with good portion for 4 people. The staff was nice and follow up on our order and asked for feedback. Will definitely go again.
My wife and I have been searching for good chinese food in Elk Grove and this place HITS THE SPOT! We ordered a smattering of different things, including: roasted duck on rice, minced pork, tea boiled eggs, rice wrapper with beef, spring rolls and veggies. The roasted duck flavor was amazing and it was so moist! The minced pork was flavored just right and not overly-salty; it perfectly complimented the rice. The tea boiled eggs were brought in the shells and they tasted soooo good, though the eggs did stick to the shell more than I would have liked. rice wrapper with beef was a great addition as an appetizer to the meal and the spring rolls were fried to perfection; crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. The broccoli was also steamed perfectly, not soggy and not too firm. I couldn't stop talking about this meal at the table. I ordered online during lunch time and it was ready within 20 minutes, even with a full restaurant inside. SUPER impressed with how this restaurant's quality of food and attention to detail and care. I would absolutely recommend anyone to go.
I was visiting family in the area and they suggested we go here for food. My children and I really enjoyed the food. We ordered a number of different dishes including beef chow fun, house special panbfried noodles, salt and pepper pork ribs, steamed barbecue pork buns, potstickers, wonton soup, garlic long beans, orange chicken, and steamed rice. Everything was delicious and not overwhelmingly salty or spicy. Just right. And, everything got eaten! The prices were very reasonable. The seating area is fairly small, but it worked for the eight of us. I liked the food so much that I ended up ordering three extra dishes to take home.
My family luv this place, tried out their pecking duck noodles (pecking duck taste amazing)and their fried rice. Kids luv the fried rice and they wanted to come back soon for it. The chow mein noodles with chicken and bbpork, we will stick with the chicken only next time cause the bbq pork was dried and a little saltier for our taste buds.
This is such a cute place. The food is amazing and the service is quick. We came here literally 4x in 4 days. The duck dishes are delicious as well as the Beef chow fun. I personally don't like bean sprouts, but the way they cooked the vegetables and noodles.. the flavor and aroma of everything together was excellent. The shrimp and shredded rice roll is also good, but I wish the noodle itself had a little more chew to it. Otherwise, the food and drink options are great and I enjoyed the Honey Grass Jelly and Milk Tea.
They had lunch special menu. You choose a dish for $13 and will get a free drink, milk tea, lemon tea, or Thai ice tea. (I forgot another one) I ordered the satay beef noodles soup with the Thai tea in the first visit. I was surprised the noodle soup had pineapples in it but I liked them as an accent. The beef was soft and flavor was good! I wasn't so much a fan of thin rice noodles so I would love to try the egg noodles soup next time! The restaurant inside was roomy and clean. The staff who took order and served was so nice and friendly.
First time to check out this Chinese restaurant located West side Elk Grove. The food is above average. They have BBQ food like roast duck and breakfast food like 粥 & 肠粉. The price is great. The service is good. It's next to Costco so that everyone can come for a lunch or dinner! I am very happy about this restaurant in the neighborhood and I like to come often.

Sooo good ! & they were so nice and happy to see us walk in! The pork buns are my FAVORITE and their beef broccoli is to die for 🥦
Fantastic Cantonese BBQ style Chinese food, perfect for lunch or dinner with family and friends. Seating is available for couples or even large groups. Great for noodle dishes, won ton, Cantonese entrees, and roasted duck, pork, and chicken. There's also a to-go counter if you don't dine in. Very casual, clean, and fast service. I confirmed the food here has wok hay... The very foundation of great authentic tasting food! 👌💯💯
Had dinner at N’Joy last night. Don’t let the name fool you. The food was authentic traditional Chinese. We enjoyed dishes that remind us of home cooked meals. Really yummy. Will come back again.

I don't know how this place has low ratings. It's the best Chinese food in Elk Grove hands down! Extremely authentic, no whitewash Chinese food here! I grew up on authentic Chinese food and dim sum from Oakland back in the day and this hits home! We ordered thin noodle, asparagus and chicken, honey barbecue pork. Everything came out hot and extremely good! The only reason I gave it four out of five stars because the ceiling fans were blasting fast making our food cold, but everything else was great!
First was not a charm but after several visits, food and service has been good and steady. HK style comfort style cuisine. Duck was wonton noodles is a very hardy bowl with very meaty pieces of duck. Enjoyed the Ma Pow tofu dish. Other dishes also surprisingly good.
The food was very good and portions were way more than adequate. The service was somewhat lacking as the server did not seem to understand and speak enough English to fully understand what we were asking. Also, they do not have packets of sugar/sweetener for the beverages. We had to ask repeatedly for sugar for the tea. Finally a small dish of loose sugar was brought to our table. When paying the $47.80 bill the server was given three $20 bills and asked for a five and five ones when she brought the change. We were given two dimes, two ones, and two fives. It did not make it easy to give change to my dining companion who was paying the tip.
This place is actually very good. The food is fresh and not greasy or oily like some other places. The chowmein and rice was some of the freshest I've had. We got orange chicken as the main side and it was very good as well. It sounds like some of the negative reviews are from people used to cheap and fast Chinese food.....
I ordered Singapore rice noodle and it tasted good, not as salty and oily as like other Chinese cuisine, but the rice noodle roll, it shown in Chinese it’s vegetarian rice noodle roll, I thought it was the traditional one, roll up with some vegetables, but it just a purely white rice roll, nothing else. The peppermint milk tea taste fresh, I like it. So 4 stars, and a thumb up to the sweet cashier :)
I eat at N'joy a couple times a month. Its a good stop after a Costco run! Food is generally pretty good. I do like the BBQ pork here. Check out the picture, they take some care in presentation even just for a take out order. The service can be hit or miss. Sometimes several people behind the counter see you standing, waiting to order but no one seems to be the person to take the orders. It can be a little odd. But all in all I keep going back, price to food ratio seems to be a good value to me.
Newly opened Chinese Cafe in town. I’m happy because People in town now have more choice for their meal. And I always support local business. They offer lots of common Chinese dishes and Milk tea too. Customer service is OK. They make me feel welcomed. However, they forgot to prepare our table with chopsticks and spoons, but it’s understandable since they’re new so there’s lot to catch up with. Food quality is good. Price is acceptable. However, the meat marinated is way too salty. The beef in chowfun and the meat filling in wonton is really salty. If they could reduce the saltiness in the meat. It would be perfect. The rice roll with shrimp and egg is a MUST try. I will definite come back to try roast duck and BBQ Pork. I haven’t had a chance to try ‘m out today since we are all too full.
Nice restaurant, ok food. The shrimp rolls taste good. Recommended. It's a little different than in dimsum. It has more rice noodles. The roasted duck is decent, dry style, suitable for those don't like greasy. The porridge was super plain while the Mongolian beef was super salty. The chef must have put the salt of two plates into one. Walnut shrimp and chowmein were decent.
3.5 Tried the new spot in the area. The place was nice and clean. The service was decent. Food was pretty good. Kind of what I expected. Not super authentic but also not panda. Despite some of the other reviews, I felt the portions were a good size. I'm a big dude and I shared two a la carte entrees and wend home with leftovers. I'll probably be back for sure to try some other stuff out. All and all I'd give it a try if I were you.
Food was okay for the most part. Nothing that stood out for me. The drink was good too. Loved the atmosphere there though and the service was okay. To try again? I don't know. Maybe.
One of the two best Chinese noodle bowls / rice plates restaurants in Elk Grove 9 / 10. Prices are fair and good portion. The roast duck is okay 5 / 10. Wonton is 5.5 / 10 . Would definitely go again and recommend to friends.

We tried this place by Costco. We weren't very hungry, but ordered appetizers. The fried chicken wings and salted pork chops were great. The egg rolls were slightly mushy inside and the calamari rings were just okay. The hot and sour soup was good and i don't usually like that soup. I'll need to try the noodles next time. I was surprised to see they sell whole roasted duck and had a very good selection of items. The place was clean and staff was very nice and helpful
Clean. Friendly service but food is just ok. The duck in my noodle soup was just bones and fat. And the soup portion was small. I wish they have the condiments tableside to flavor my soup, as it too was bland. Other beef dish, on the other hand, was too salty. Eh. I'm glad we do have a Cantonese restaurant nearby. They all seem very nice. Hopefully they will improve in the future.
First time. Service could be better. Two waitresses passed us several times never acknowledged us and I when they seated another person they threw menu on table and no silverware or nothing. Food was ok needed more flavor. I had soy noodles, needs more Chinese onions or cilantro or more sprouts. Our mango and taro tea came late after we were done with food. Love the location so I hope it will get better as the man who took our order was kind and helpful .
It was ok, but way overpriced for a small to go of pan fried chow mein. When I say small, I mean small. Almost $20.00 (inc tip) for JUST a pan fried, vegetable only, chow mein was a bit much. Also, waited almost 30 minutes for it. Too bad, I really wanted to love this place.
Whatever you do, don't order the Steamed Roast Pork with Shrimp Sauce, I almost vomited just from the smell. Other than that. Orange chicken was great.
Nice clean place but employees do not seem to be happy, no smiles. Ordered house fried rice and Mongolian beef. House fried rice is like average taste, nothing special. They didn’t use large shrimps, only cuts of small bbq pork, no chicken or seafood. Worst “house” fried rice. Mongolian beef tasted average to me.
We wanted Chinese. Google search, N'joy pops up. Initially thought this was just a take-out spot but no. They have plenty of seating to dine-in. They also have seating for those waiting for pickup and take-out. Overall, the food was average. The menu is simple and posted in multiple places. I wish the items had a little ingredient list with the dish. At the time of this visit, customer service was good and the place is clean...the restrooms are clean and for both genders. Parking is limited but people are constantly in and out of the various businesses in the area.
Very excited for a new Chinese restaurant in EG. Despite the reviews decided to try it out myself. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken but was charged for the Mongolian Beef (a dollar more). The plate was OK, not superb or anything special. The flavors were the exact same as every other restaurant where I ordered the same thing. Deducted a star for the small portion of meat and for the price. I understand the pandemic has skyrocketed the price of everything but $15 was definitely overpriced for this item.

Wanted to love it based off the reddit reviews of this place but holy smoke the chef back there needs to slow down. First off your ordering system said 15-25 mins. I got notification that my food was ready in 8... W.e. The food was wicked hot and they tented my fried food but still I like to get there before my food is done... Big minus points. Chef in the back is lazy. Chow fun has multiple pieces of noodle stacked 4-6 Noodles together so the ones in the middle have 0 flavor. First and last time. Jesus seems like Sacramento just had really bad Asian food compared to the bay area / south bay Food wasn't overly oily but asked for it dry and it lacked flavor. Dude seriously you can't season
2 stars at best. My first time here. Won’t be returning. Bathrooms and floors could be cleaner. Most of the employees could be seen eating, I guess that’s a good sign. I wasn’t checked on by the wait staff, while everyone else around me was. I ordered to dine in, yet all of my food was in to go boxes. The beef was low quality and should come with a choking warning. There is no way I could chew it up, it was regenerating on contact. Didn’t even eat it. If they knew my only purpose was for this review, they may have done better. Everyone else around me had food on plates, and a waitress. Weird. The slushee was actually good, as well as the pork buns. Everything else was questionable. The service was worse than tgd food.
I tired out their food and the food itself was alright, soy sauce was not ok but the way they cook it is ok. Not a real Chinese food at all but it’s definitely not worth the price. Very small portions on the rice noodles, ok portions on the rice and curry. Owner himself is nice but all the other employees doesn’t care. Don’t recommend this location so far. Will give another chance later to try again

Food came quick, too quick. We ordered and just about 10 minutes later the food came out to the table. I'm not sure how they cooked our pork, duck, and beef so fast, but all of it was cold when it arrived. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress, she offered to microwave it!! I felt insulted to be offered such a solution with the price we paid. We asked for a new plate of food which also came out cold, unacceptable service. I do not recommend anyone dine here
The customer service from one guy at the cafe is ridiculous and has no concept of costumer satisfaction. I was becoming a regular costumer ordering food multiple times for the past 3 months, but not anymore. I will never stop at their Cafe. I had placed an order over the phone, one order. Went to pick it up and the guy thought I wanted two orders, so he got annoyed with me. I honestly didn’t understand his frustration because I told him one order. I paid and gave no tip. I asked him if there was hot sauce in my food container and he said no. He gave me one and told me next time he will charge me $1. In the past there was never an issue. Anyway great job on this Moron for driving one good costumer away. I think he is either one of the owners or a manager.
me and my friends walked in because we were on a walk in like over 100 degree weather and we needed ac and as soon as we walked in, i assume because we’re teenagers, they yelled at us and asked us if we were gonna buy anything and when we said we wanted to stand inside, (literally not even sit down we just needed to be indoors) because it was literally roasting outside they told us to get out and they were incredibly rude. we ended up going to starbucks and sitting down
We were reluctant to go there but given we have limited time, we went back there and don't have high hopes, service was slow and below average, server neglect to give us the lunch special menu until we had to ask. We ordered 3 lunch specials, chicken with BBQ sauce rice plate, Taiwanese popcorn chicken rice plate and ground beef oysters sauce with rice lunch special. All 3 dish claims they come with ice lemon tea, you would think being a cafe style restaurant they would brew their own, no it's a store bought nasty taste bottle lemon tea that can give you diabetes!!! When the dish arrived, we couldn't believe it is this bad 1) portion size is average issue, very small stingy amount of protein, all their meat has a heavy taste of baking soda, the chicken suppose to be chunks according to menu description but when we got it, it's like ground chicken meat cut into irregular pieces and sizes not to mention there is enough grease to lubricate your car!!! The oystern sauce ground beef over rice was so little, it's like missing half the order of ground beef and definitely taste the heavy use of baking soda!! The food was so bad we ate half and pack things to go. When we got the bill we notice $3.50 charge for tea!!! We didn't order dimsum nor is this a dimsum restaurant why are we charge for tea, not to mention it is not even tea bags instant tea or tea leaf brewed tea. They had a big pot dispenser and gave us a pot. We are extremely disappointed with this place, they are ripping people off with tea charges and we constantly hear sound from kitchen chopping sound, probably more meat are getting chopped to irregular shapes, some piece of chicken I ate are smaller then crumbs, it's ridiculous. No matter how convenient this location is, we will not be going back. If we can give negative stars we would gladly dish it out!!
I started with the sesame ball, which was unfortunately not very fresh. The Mongolian beef was also disappointing. Instead of the rich, savory flavor typically associated with the dish, it tasted more like a mix of generic barbecue sauce and hot sauce, lacking the balance and depth I expected.
I would love to see more and more Chinese restaurants in Sac area, but unfortunately NOT these kinds of things like Njoy. Fire the chief, pls. He knows nothing about Chinese food. And what he did will make Chinese restaurants and Chinese food reputation worse and worse. You could check the details in my pictures. And Njoy, you need someone as QC. That would help if you want to do that business seriously.
