Food was better than expected.... And the mini show was funny/entertaining
Very welcoming friendly customer service. Food is very fresh and delicious 😋
I have had an excellent experience each time I've come. I have Celiac's Disease and they handle it marvelously here. They confirm the food as gluten free and I've had their chef send the waiter back to confirm options on how to make non-gluten free choices gluten free. The food itself is also excellent.
The sushi is incredibly fresh and one of the best I've ever had. The service was a little slower, but I also would have to say it was my fault because I am unfamiliar with the ebb and flow of the restaurant. If you get the all you can eat buffet, order the rolls in quick succession and know what you want quickly. I will be going back for thr hibachi grill though!
Wow! By far this has been my best experience at any restaurant in a very long time. The staff, the food, the environment was so refreshing and I was taken back by the hospitality. 10/10 recommend this restaurant and I will be going back. Thank you for having me and my large family we all had a great time. If your looking for adult beverages I recommend the the shark bite. Very good drink. I had an amazing time bringing in my nieces 17th bday, again thank you guys for everything.
The staff was very helpful and accommodating, atmosphere was great and the food was tasty. The menu was diverse enough to accommodate the group's dietary preferences. We were a little rushed at the end because of the people waiting for a table but other than that it was great.
I really like this place. Staying in a hotel for a baseball tournament, it’s a great place after a double header. I got all u can eat sushi they got me my food really quick. the waiters are super nice and respectful, I really recommend the yummy roll, California roll, and the kobe roll.
Absolutely Awesome!! My new favorite. They did our daughters 26'th birthday right. The food and drinks are Excellent, the service is outstanding,. Expectations were had and met.💥💥💥💥💖💖💖💖💖💖💯💯💯💯💯💋 We'll be going often. Thank you .
Have been to this restaurant over 20 times over the years. Staff is always attentive and friendly. Food is great 90% of the time. Kids love it, the show the cooks put on is great.
Wonderful staff and atmosphere. The go to place for a celebratory meal. Almost have my punch card filled out for $ off my next meal.
The weight is never bad the food is really good
Went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and had an absolute blast! Our chef was hilarious and so welcoming and not to mention how delicious our food was! It wasn’t a long wait, I tried their mango mojito while we waited and it was so good. We sat with 4 other people and the chef made sure he included us all in the fun and we even made new friends ! We live in Tracy but we definitely will be coming back !
First time trying this place and let me say it was beyond worth the over hour drive to get here. Ordered the fresh oysters for starter and they just melted in the mouth, whatever that is put on them was so flavorful. Also ordered the lobster king roll and the sushi/sashimi for two; probably didn't need the extra roll, but everything was so spectacular! How the box for the sushi/sashimi was so beautiful and whatever the green stuff in the spoon or was just the right spiciness and full a flavor too. Hands down probably the best oysters, sushi and sashimi I've ever had!! I'll definitely be making the drive back for the hibachi grill, that we were originally planning on trying hahaha.
We went for the "all you can eat sushi." Will definitely be going again. The food is delicious, the service is amazing, and the price is unbeatable! I can't wait to experience the hibachi side of the restaurant, as well. And I already have a date planned with another friend. I highly recommend this place. 😊
My family and I had a blast! The habachi fried rice is amazing. If you’re 21+, try their Asian Blue Heaven drink. It’s amazing! Their atmosphere is fun and inviting. Their servers are kind and work hard. The food ordered did not take long to come out, and the price was normal for this kind of dining experience.
The food was very good, fun to watch the chef cook and interact with the table.
I took my mom here for Mother’s Day and upon entering, it was packed. We couldn’t sit at the tables with the hibachi chefs but we didn’t mind sitting at a booth. The service was top notch and friendly. The food came out quick and everything was fresh and tasty. A successful Mother’s Day and a satisfying meal and experience!
We are vegetarian and dont eat onion or garlic. They made sure to treat us nicely and even made a roll for us. We did all you can eat and they were so nice and gave us edamame and a special roll. Would recommend coming here with friends or family. Staff is so friendly and caring.
First time coming to here and had a great time and experience!! Came for company holiday party and food, service and atmosphere was great. Starting with our waitress Kay and ending with our Chef Jason. They both did a excellent job! Very entertaining and good jokes a food was prepared perfectly. Would definitely recommend coming in for their dinner. Thanks for a great time and awesome experience!!!!
Looookkkkkk! Let me tell yall what!!! This has to be one of the best places I have ate in a long while! Now California doesn't have the greatest food but I tell you what, this spot was delicious! All you can eat sushi! I don't even like sushi and I tried it and it was delicious. I tried a fried roll and yummy yummy in my tummy! All you can eat sesame chicken, spring rolls, and pot stickers shoooo sign me up!!! Plus they have hibachi! I drove 45 minutes to try this place and I'll be doing it again this weekend! Definitely check this spot out! It was soooo good!
This place is so great! It was completely packed on a Tuesday evening and the service was so good. Our family has been coming to Kobe Steak and Sushi since it first opened after it took over the location of Marie Calender's. We have seen this restaurant get better and better as the years have gone on. The staff make sure your experience is great and it is a great place for family and friends to gather and be entertained by the Habachi Chef. We have had several chefs, but there is one chef that is really loud and hilarious! Our family has great memories being together at this restaurant.
I love this restaurant. Always excellent service. Family friendly. Go here just cuz and also special occasions. Sushi rolls are very good. Dragon roll for the W.
The food was very good. The service was good. We didn't have to wait long for appetizers or the main course. It is fun to watch the food being cooked in front of you, if this is what you want. You have a choice. You do have a variety of sushi and other things.Parking no problem. I would come back again.
My first impression in this place was, Wow. It's clean, friendly, and professional. They're very attentive to their customers. I was pregnant at the time, but I was craving for sushi 🍣 . I told the waitress I was expecting and asked her to recommend the sushi I could eat. She recommends which one to get and which one is the most delicious. I ordered a lot of sushi rolls for the family (more like for me 😄). I also love their calamari. Delicious. My daughters love their bento box 🍱 I'm impressed by the chef, very skilled. My family and I really enjoyed the interactive hibachi grill experience. We enjoyed eating our sushi and appetizers while watching the chef cook in front of us. 💯🔥 Fired rice was so delicious even though it might not look like it. I honestly thought it wouldn't taste good but I was wrong. It was delicious! All the food there are. I can't believe I would witness my shy daughter and non drinker husband participate in the food tossing and sake squirting. 😂 My husband loved their wagyu beef so much he couldn't stop talking about it how delicious it was. With a family of 4 that ordered a lot of food and hibachi grill, I think it was a reasonable price. $300+ Overall, it's worth it to experience it with the family. ❤️ Highly recommended to come eat at this place with your family and enjoy the hibachi grill experience. I would go again!
Took my wife here for a late valentines date night since we had a rough past couple of weeks and weren't able to really enjoy going out around valentines Day. Kobe Steak & Sushi was a great place to enjoy each other's company over some great food. With great service and a friendly, entertaining atmosphere. First visit, and I will definitely be returning! (I will also try to take more pictures before starting to eat the food - sorry, the pictures are not the best. Started eating and drinking before taking pictures of some items and didn't get pictures of all items)
Such a FUN first-time experience! The customer service was on point, they were very welcoming! Our Chef was so entertaining, from the Big Fire to warm up the stove-top to catching Broccoli in our mouth! It was a VIBE! We had a party of 12 and, even my three year old son was enjoying it! We will definitely be returning in the future! I highly recommend! 10/10 on service and Food! The food was Delicious!!!
So we just found this place with their “all you can eat sushi” and boi let me tell you. It’s Absolutely amazing. For 20.00 all you can eat. The food was freshly made and quickly served. The service was a half full kind of day. Drinks were refilled swiftly. The place was calm with the noise. This place is truly a gem. If you need a new place to try with great sushi with great service then you have to try this place out!!!!
I took my man and grandson here for their birthday. The food was delicious. The people at the table were friendly. One of the other guest had a birthday also. The atmosphere was beautiful. Our cook was phenomenal. All the little tricks he did was very good. My grandson loved it. I will be coming back.
Had to try out their new AYCE sushi option for lunch, and it's pretty decent 👌🏾 Good options of basic rolls, nigiri, and hand rolls. Also includes appetizers, soup, and salad. Great price for the offerings. The rolls are a good size for AYCE and tasted fresh and yummy. The star 🌟 of the show was the vegetable tempura. It came out hot, crispy, and delightful 😊
.Better than Tokyo steakhouse. It was kind of weird cuz the lady try to have us move somewhere else .another lady told us where we can sit at .other than that I would have gave you a five stars until next time food was good though food was smacking except for that little rude little service thing . Drinks on point
I like this place very much. My daughter has food allergies so they make sure to cook her food first. They were so nice and entertaining. The food was good the only problem I had was toward the last ends of my bites when I almost finished my food, it was starting to get salty. But i would try again to go back.
I wasn’t able to get the Teppan lunch I wanted since I was dining alone and you need at least two people for that option. That was a bit disappointing. However, the non-Teppan lunch I ordered was delicious and very satisfying. Even though I didn’t get what I originally planned, the meal still made for a great lunch experience.
It was our first time trying this spot in Elk Grove, CA. Our server, Kae, was amazing, personable & helpful. We ordered the dinner for two ($35 coupon from ZBest book). She kept our Cokes refilled and soup & salad came out promptly. We were hungry so we appreciated the fast service. Food came out shortly after we finished our soup & salad. It was not piping hot, just warm, but it was tasty. The yummy sauce is our favorite now. It's a creamy garlic sauce that is also used on the salad as dressing. The ginger sauce complimented the steak & scallops. Both sauces also paired well w/chicken. I must say, the scallops were seated to perfection & they were tender. The fried rice was good as well. The sauteed vegetables were okay. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and service. It was worth the $35 charge with the coupon. Thanks Kae, for making our first time dining there, a positive experience. We plan to enjoy the extra sauces to-go. She even told us about their AYCE sushi buffet for lunch, bento boxes & grilled items as well. We'll be back.
Beware of double tipping. They add a 15% tip on every order. We caught it. The couple we were with did not. This is a deceptive practice. I would guess from the comments, only about 25% of clients notice it. I spoke w/ manager about it. Its profitable to them. They will not change. I will never go back.
Wait staff were nice, but the food was just ok, and it was very pricey for being just ok. You can sit by the chef for an interactive hibachi experience, which looked pretty cool (the chef squirts sake into peoples mouths or tosses brocoli pieces). When we went on a random Wednesday, all the seats near the chef were taken, so we had to sit off to the side, and there was no fun interactive experience for us. For me, I'd maybe go once more to experience the hibachi, but other than that I'd never go back.
Dinner service was underwhelming when you come in expecting a show on the grill. Staff was slow, very long wait for drinks. Dinner was expensive (though be expected for this style dinner) flavors were great though. Coming in at lunch when they are not busy was a much better experience. Such is good but not great. Can order the same roll twice and it will taste significantly different. Staff is friendly (when not over whelmed). Lunch Buffet has LOTS to choose from and it's all made to order. Wish I could rate lunch & dinner seperatly otherwise this rating would be higher.
I heard that Kobe Steak and Sushi revamped their sushi lunch buffet, so I decided to waddle in post-gym session to see if I could get my $20 worth of carbs and protein. As someone who is known for being a glutton for punishment (and maybe just a glutton in general), I didn’t have high hopes and I’m glad I didn’t because it was basically sushi karaoke night for rice and fish that didn’t quite hit the right notes. The wait between ordering and actually getting the food was… well, let’s just say I aged like fine sake in that time. They were clearly more focused on the hibachi grill where the real magic (and money) happens. Also, it was graduation day, so the crowd probably didn’t help. The appetizers were surprisingly decent. The mixed tempura was my jam even though, for something that took so long, it arrived cold. I cracked a joke to my friends about that fried food getting cold feet on the way to the table. The sushi rice? Eh, let’s just say it was forgettable. The rolls were so loosely rolled I half-expected them to unravel like my motivation to keep eating them. The sashimi was also lacking in freshness, no sea-to-table vibes here, but at least I didn’t end up hugging the toilet later. Would I go back? Sure, maybe if I’m in the mood to see how many so-so sushi rolls I can stack before I regret my life choices. But hey, at $20, you get what you pay for—and sometimes that’s just a bunch of average sushi and a couple of good jokes with friends.
If you want the experience of a showman preparing your food, then this is the place. If you're looking for a quiet place for dinner, it isn't. The food was mixed. Some delicious (Lobster King roll, though it seemed like a shrimp roll), sesame chicken was also delish. Chicken teriyake was dry, and the margarita extra sour. Oh, stuffed mushrooms were a hit.
The food and service was great but I wasn't expecting the server to charge me the price of a full lunch for my 3 year old grandson. There was PLENTY of food amongst the rest of us to feed him. She also included a 15% gratuity which could have been mentioned to us when she took our order. The bill even gave an option for an additional tip. It seemed like the only thing she was interested in was making money off of us. I won't be returning in the future.
The last time I had hibachi was at least 14-15 years ago. When my friends suggested hibachi, I was intrigued and somewhat excited because it's been awhile. Even though we had 6 people in our group, we still had to share the table with a small family. It wasn't a big deal but it was a little awkward and I think we expected to have the table to ourselves. The menu is extensive. Besides hibachi, they also serve sushi. I saw a sign for AYCE sushi at 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the entrance. I wasn't hungry and went with the Chicken solo entrée that comes with rice, soup, salad, vegetable and two shrimps. You can upgrade to fried rice for $2 extra. The food was decent. I didn't have anything that would prompt me to come back. The show was fun. A lot of food tossing and squirting sake. I also think it was the company that I was with that made it a fun meal. Service was okay. Our waitress had a short fuse. I got the impression that she thought my questions was annoying. Maybe she was having a bad day. I can only see myself returning if I have out of town guests visiting and they specifically ask for hibachi. LOL.
Hibachi was good, restaurant was clean, service very good. Unfortunately I will NOT be back. I refuse to return to establishments that automatically add gratuities to every ticket. Especially when they are not clearly up front about this practice. Compulsory charges are NOT gratuities
The fire is cool. My family always has a good time for birthdays here. Most of the groups I've seen at this place were for birthdays. IMPORTANT: Write out your allergies on paper that you can give to your server to be safe. During hibachi performances, everything is cooked together, and your personal health concerns may be missed if you are not vigilant.
I had the lunch hibachi filet mignon, but my filet mignon was chewy, it wasn't cooked the same way as on the chef table, and I had to cut into bite-sized pieces to eat. The sauces were good, and fried rice was decent. I sat in a booth and would have rathered sat where I could watch the chef cook, but I did understand they needed at least 2 people at a table for that. I wish the filet wasn't so chewy, but other than that, it was good.
My wife and I came for the all you can eat sushi lunch. I have to say that the food was great and the sushi was fresh. However the service was horrible! We ordered our food, it came out, and our waitress disappeared. We asked one of the other waitresses for a side of sauce, it never came. Then we had to flag down another waitress to order more food. (A roll and a nigiri) they took about 20 mins to come out, despite there only being about 3 tables in the resturant. Finally they come out, along with the check. We finish up, and there is a 15% Gratuity on the check already for 2 people. I usually tip well, but you didn't even deserve the 15% in the first place. I put cash in the bill and give up on waiting for any change. Then as we are leaving, the lady at the front desk asked if we paid. Really? Maybe if you would have come to pick up the check you would have seen we were paid. Overall not impressed 😒
Over the weekend, while visiting a family member, we decided to have a late lunch or early dinner at Kobe Steak & Sushi Hibachi Grill & Bar. This was our first time at the restaurant. It features a large dining area with hibachi grills set up in the middle, surrounded by tables and booths. Initially, we wanted to sit near a hibachi grill, but we later changed our minds and opted for the more comfortable and private booth seating. Our server, a young man, was very professional and attentive. He brought us the menus and answered a couple of questions we had. We ordered a dinner bento box, a sushi roll, and hibachi salmon. While the food was good, it wasn’t anything special. Additionally, we found the booth seating somewhat uncomfortable; the arrangement left little legroom, and the table felt too close for comfort. Overall, it was a decent experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the prices were reasonable.
Great people with friendly staff and really open and inviting environment. Spent $120 on lunch for two - no cocktails or any kind of alcohol. Ordered Kobe beef medium rare with Salmon steak and shrimp. Was not Kobe beef and way over cooked. Salmon was over done and shrimp was not very tasty. Tip: make sure you get what you pay for...think they just used a strip steak since it was very grisely and tough. Chef was great and wonderful attitude. Good show overall 👍
The food is decent . I’ll be back for all you can eat sushi next time . My steak was cooked to Perfection in my opinion just the way I like it- medium rare. I did the dinner for 2 so I got New York steak, chicken and salmon . Steak portion is a tab small imo. Chicken was good very tender . Shrimp was good too . Fried rice was just so so imo. Service is good! Very attentive. Just an fyi you can tip extra if you want my gratitude is already added on to the bills . We also ordered a kobe sushi roll and it was delicious.
We have tried the all you can eat lunch for sushi. The hand rolls were good. The sushi rolls were 4 pics an order which is good for buffet style, so you have more spaces to try different rolls. However, to me, most of the rolls taste the same, and didn't have much flavor. There are not so many choices for nigiri either.
Food here's very tasty! However, gross to find my salad had a huge fleshly cut thick black hair in it, and later, my guest found another hair in his dinner plate after eating halfway through. Both times, they just casually took the plate, said oh sorry, sometimes hairs falls out. They did offer another plate, however, appetite was not the same.
Hidden charge in additions to what is already expensive underwhelming food. Read the reviews carefully! They will charge you more than what is authorized! How is this even allowed? Why aren’t people warning about this more. Make sure to check your bank statements after and keep the receipt. They charged my card more than what I tripped on the merchant receipt, thankfully I disputed the over charge and got refunded with my bank (still paid the initial amount). So if you decide to go here pay in cash and save your receipt. Aside for the unauthorized amount being charged, the food was bland and tasted the same. I do have to say, although the food was not as tasty, the chef cooked my steak perfectly medium rare so I’ll give them that, he’s the reason they got 2 starts instead of 1! But that’s not enough to ever go back….
Do not go if you have food allergies. If it is busy they can not accommodate. I went on a Friday around 2pm and it was a little busy and they got my food mixed up and people got the same appetizer that I ordered before me even though they came after me. It was not a good experience and will not go back
Started off great with a delicious Shark Bite at the bar and an amazing chef who made the meal fun. Unfortunately, the manager ruined the experience by making a fuss about where we wanted to sit and because we wanted to split a plate for dietary reasons, even though we each ordered a sushi roll. The constant whispering, pointing, and staring made us feel very uncomfortable. We don’t usually complain, but this was unacceptable. Food and drinks were great, but we won’t be coming back.
Just had dinner there and it took two hours for them to seat us. They sat people that had gotten there after us. We were there at 7:00 pm didn’t eat until 9 something. You would think they would try to show some empathy, offer a free appetizer, some kind of hospitality. We got nothing. I used to tell everyone about Kobe…done with them. We will not be celebrating any more birthdays or spending our money there anymore.
Very slow and expensive and added there own tip 170$ for two people
I wish I had taken photos. I definitely had time to. My son and I came for an early dinner bc he really loves their bento box. I haven't ever really been a big fan of this place other than the birthday ambiance of the hibachi. The last time we came for dinner, our meals were served at different times, and I ended up not getting my meal until my boys were nearly done eating. Well.... it happened again. I ordered the Lobster Queen roll ($22), and my son ordered the teriyaki beef bento box with fried rice, and he ordered a California roll. His bento box came out very quickly. About 10 minutes later, his California roll was brought out. I waited and waited and couldn't find my waiter anywhere. There was staff sitting in a booth talking. We were the only people in the restaurant. I continued to wait until my son was completely done with his entire meal. My roll finally arrived, and the first roll I tried to pick up fell completely apart. This irritated me so much. The second roll I picked up fell apart, and I was trying to eat it by the pieces.... the third roll I couldn't even pick up bc it fell apart before I could even try to get it off the plate. I looked at all of the rest of the rolls and I could see they weren't fully wrapped either. I stopped eating and asked for the bill. The waiter asked if I wanted a box and said no, and I heard him tell the man, making rolls something in their language. I'm not someone who likes to send food back or ask for a discount, so I just paid and left. I will not come back to this restaurant again due to this being the second time I had this type of service.
In a few words, I don't like the way they serve. I know they cook on site, but when served, you need to wait for the rest of the food ,they need to be more organized. I just won't go again
Oh my! Can't believe restaurants still running like this. At a time when people go to restaurants very minimally, these guys behaving as if they are giving the food for free. We went for the hibachi table and was greeted with rudeness and bossiness.. I still want to emphasize that! So bad. They were telling us what we can order and how we should order. And whatever we ask it was responded with an attitude that we are slaves and not allowed to ask.. seriously?? Please don't go there. Honest opinion. All the other good reviews here must be fake
Food might be alright. Terrible service. As a door dasher, someone who is assisting and helping their business. They clearly let you know how much they do not trust us delivery drivers. They don’t trust that you will confirm your pickup even if they recognize your face as a regular dasher or even if you have a 100% delivery rate. I have tried to verbalize to them that that makes people feel uncomfortable because I watched you not even verify another dashers order, not trying to play the race card. But it definitely is a divide here. This is my least favorite place to pickup from. Hopefully they can take this as constructive criticism because they for sure lost a customer. I live in the neighborhood. And I’ll pass.
I would rate 0 if possible. Food is good but they automatically include a 15%tip when dining in and then have the audacity to ask for ANOTHER tip on the receipt after paying the initial non-voluntary tip. Service was mediocure at best. Would NOT reccommend this restaurant to anybody.
Beware of prices being higher than usual. Also have an automatic tip included and don’t tell you, we almost tipped twice, but I noticed a small sign at the front that said tip included for dine in. We had only two people and had no control over how much they tipped themselves. The bill was $137 for two people with tea, appetizers and two lunches. It says lunch special, but they said we couldn’t get that price, there were no details. I would have rather went to a fancy restaurant for that price.
I came in with My Friend and we sat down and ate. It was at the round fried table and we were the only two Black people at the table. He served everybody nice big portions and gave us a little portions. We felt so upset we had the same paid the same
🚫 Worst dining experience ever. They charge an automatic tip for 2 people — ridiculous. Food was cold, service sucks and prices went up just because of the holiday. $90 for two? Total scam. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else. In n out would have been a lot better then this.
I took my wife here for Valentine's Day the staff was rude and it's no wonder why, given that their management team is as well. I gave them a second try on a to go order a few weeks later and they made the plates very small I had 2 shrimp on a Steak and shrimp plate. Management told me oh I can give you 1 more piece of shrimp. Needless to say at this places Price's coupled with rude employees and management I will never go back here and wouldn't recommend it either. The food was just okay I prefer Mikuni
If I could give this place 0 Stars I would!!!! CHARGES THEIR OWN TIPS IN YOUR BILL!!! cook even when you DONT want to participate still decide to throw a broccoli at me ! $40 dollars in tip food was not even all that great . 0/10 experience there is other places that have better food and better customer service. Believe all the bad reviews you see on this places it’s 9/10 true ! Don’t even bother spending your money here .
I have been here a few times for hibachi and this last time I came to celebrate Father's Day. I would not recommend coming here for a special occasion because they rushed the entire experience. They didn't get the order correct. And apparently they talk bad about their customers while walking out. They include their tip in the prices so why would you talk bad about your own customers spending over $200 for a family of 4. Very unprofessional
Today at Hibachi. How are you going to add a tip on my bill of a party of 2 people. Then have the nerve to ask for an extra tip from me. You didn’t even make aware that your business adds tips already to the bill. Tips are to be earned by the server based on how the service is. I was going to tip my server and would’ve been more than what the business added to check. Tips are to be add to a party of 6 or more. Not two people.
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Kobe Steak & Sushi to celebrate my mother's birthday. During our lunchtime visit, I inquired about the AYCA sushi option. Our server, an Asian woman, seemed inhospitable and reluctant. When I mentioned the all-you-can-eat sushi promotion advertised on the website, she incorrectly informed me that it was not available. Unfortunately, the portion sizes appeared to be resembling child-sized servings, which was disappointing for both my mother and aunt. Due to the my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant and would consider alternative options for future celebrations.
