First time trying Indonesian halal food. Food experience was really great but they need to upgrade their restaurant atmosphere! Very tiny place with three small tables! Restaurants atmosphere not offering that much. Service was great but they need to work on nice restaurants vibes!! All’Ham’Du’Lillah food was really great 👍🏼
Came from Boston on Friday afternoon, to try Nasi bungkus Rendang. This was the first time I visited this place. It tasted so delicious. So many times I kept telling my girls and husband how tasty it was my nasi bungkus. I loved all of them on my plate, including the beef rendang, sambal lado hijau, jackfruit curry, pergedel jagung, and fried tofu. The service was so quick and the staff were so friendly. I am from West Sumatra and the rendang is so good and tender. It was a big portion of rendang. I will definitely come back again to this resto and try other food. Thank you so much Asian Taste!
This cozy eatery served up great traditional eats. We had: Nasi Bungkus Nangka Rice, fried fish, jackfruit in a coconut milk curry, corn fritter, boiled egg, sambal Shumai Bandung Steamed fish cake, tofu, egg, bitter melon, cabbage with peanut sauce A traditional noodle dish and fish cakes in a spicy tamarind sauce The nasi Bungkus Nangka was my favorite. The dish is a flavor bomb. Rice topped fried fish, egg, jackfruit curry tofu, corn fritter, shrimp chips, and sambal for some heat. This was awesome. Check out Asian Taste 86 for Java style dishes from Indonesia Sharon our server was awesome. Patiently explained everything to us.
This spot delivers satisfaction in every dish. People, that work here are super nice. This restaurant delivers what people promise. The meals maintained quality, I should mention. Every plate was delicious!! I'm excited to return!
Extremely delicious and reasonably priced Indonesian food. Have gone multipe times in the past few weeks and tried something new each time. We loved all the dishes so far. Many dishes are unfamiliar to us and the waitress explained it all to us. Lots of pictures to better understand the type of food. Smaller hole in the wall type of restaurant.
Have been coming here a couple of times. Love the nasi bungkus. If you love and can handle spicy food, you should try the nasi bungkus - you can choose the protein. The empek2 also was good. The drinks were good, es teler and the soda gembira. Friendly staff and clean place although the place is small. The restroom was also tidy, clean and spacious. Pretty authentic Indonesian food you can find.
This restaurant in Elmhurst has been in the neighborhood for 14 years serving traditional and authentic Indonesian food. It's a small family-run local spot that has a lot of regulars coming in for their variety of appetizers, noodles, soups, and rice dishes. An extensive halal menu that has options for everyone interested in trying Indonesian cuisine! Get their hot sauce on the side because it is Indonesian-style spicy, very hot. The vibe is very cozy, with only 5-7 tables inside depending on the time you're dining. Here are some of the featured dishes & drinks: Shumai bandung $13 Chicken satay/sate ayam $16 Oxtail soup $18.50 Java fried noodles/mie goreng java w/shrimp $16 Nasi bungkus nangka with rendang $21 Fruit cocktail $7 Soursop fruit juice $7 Es cendol $7 Asian Taste 86 (8610 Whitney Ave, Elmhurst, NY 11373) Open Wed-Mon 11am-9/10pm
A cozy little spot and was blown away by how good the food was. I had their special nasi bungkus nangka with rendang. it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Also tried a mixed seafood noodle dish (can't remember the name), but it was absolutely delicious. Portions were generous. Definitely coming back to explore more of their Indonesian menu. Highly recommended!
All of the food i ordered very delicious . Always dining here when i’m in NY. For Indonesian food lovers, is a must to come here. top and fast service, polite, and friendly. even though there are no photos with artists, etc in the wall, but the taste of the food and the quality of service are much much better. Best in New York ⭐️

Had a late Saturday lunch here with a some friends. Got seated immediately and the host was super attentive to us. The dining area is small (about 4-5 tables) but the food makes up for it all. The Java steak was delicious and a decent portion size. The entire menu is halal. They don’t accept Amex. Definitely worth visiting again but might be tough with a large group (>10).
Good taste like home cooked Excellent service Not need reservations Host r so kind and friendly Food excellent Enak mantap
Small place with tables mostly for 4. Was busy that weekend when we went but we got the last table. We liked the yellow beef soup with the noodles, toppings; and the Java lamb fried rice with tender lamb pieces. The fried chicken wasn’t as tasty as described on the menu, so needed the sauce. Thai iced coffee was ok in sweetness. Restroom available. There are some street parking in front and metered ones along Whitney Ave.
I had the pleasure of dining at this Indonesian restaurant with a diverse range of Indonesian dishes. Despite its small size, the portions served are quite generous, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the restaurant maintains a high level of cleanliness. The flavors of the food truly capture the essence of authentic Indonesian cuisine
Food was good but a little overrated in my opinion. Firstly the place is very small, so don't come with a crowd. The appetizers were just okay. Chicken wontons were good but very little filling. Also got a fishcake appetizer that was just mid, kind of tasteless. Main course was the banana leaf, rendang was very good and the jackfruit dish was good too. Was a bit on the pricey end too. Not bad but not the best I've had but your experience may be different.
Friendly staff, small restaurant, and they opened a grocery across the street for any Indonesian snack foods and sauces you may want. I liked the oxtail house soup and the satay was pretty good but the four sticks of meat were the most expensive I've had in Queens. My mother devoured the salad (gado gado) and it was nice that they provided sambal on the side for you to add as much or as little spice as you like. They also have other Asian food like shumai and takoyaki, which I have mixed feelings about. Other than the random Asian food, the place seems pretty authentic for Indonesian.
