A classy place with decadent Thai food. Summer summer has the ambiance of a ritzy restaurant with its large windows and moody lights. There is a proper bar here that doesn't simply serve Singha. The corn fritters were crunchy and delicious with not much spice to them. The roti and curry was delicious, though I would have liked more curry. The egg fried rice was easily the best I have had in my life. It was perfectly fried with grainy rice and well set eggs. The dessert rounded it up with sweet sticky rice and mango bits. Easily the best classy Thai restaurant in East Bay.
The decor and ambience is very inviting, and the food is excellent. Very friendly staff.
The Best Thai in town. I love everything on their menu, very fresh and reasonably priced. The ribeye dish is amazing. Their summer rolls are so delicious. I also love the easygoing vibe and the super friendly staff. A hidden gem.
This is one place I eat almost once a week. Being a vegetarian it's difficult sometimes to get good food but this place has very good vegetarian options particularly spicy fried rice, pineapple rice, veggie rolls, summer roles are to die for. Nice ambience, I mostly do takeout. Their red veggie Curry is also very good and good proportions. They also have a bar and variety of cocktails. Can go with friends or a date.
Lycheetini; Miang Kam; Ginger Sashimi Trio, Roti w/Green Curry; Drunken Noodle Dinner w/ Beef, Yum Apple Trout were all phenomenal.
You can have higher expectations at Thai restaurants with certain items on the menu, such as som tum (papaya salad) and Thai grilled meats with sticky rice. There is also a happy hour with a great selection of drinks and appetizers. Tare tare is highly recommended! Came here with a group of 8 and had a great time. Loved the pad see ew and sea bass. Service was a slow after drink orders but isn't a problem if you're the to catch up with folks. I had to call someone over to place an order after waiting for someone to take our order for 20 minutes, but at least food came pretty quick afterwards. Service was otherwise good. Pros: delicious Thai food, great happy hour Cons: street parking
Happy hour is 5 to 7, cheaper apps and drinks. Delicious food, very good prices. I love that there was a curry sampler entree with all three major curries (yellow, red, green)! Usually I don't get to try all three. The curries had plenty of meat (or tofu) and rich sauces that were flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. It won't be too much for most people at the base level - if you want way more kick, I would ask. We also got corn fritters. Delicious and crispy, plenty of them especially at happy hour prices. and we got a Summer Roll - similar to a veggie spring roll but with avocado. Plenty of comfortable seating - I was super surprised to see so few people there. Staff was very friendly and helpful - they moved a nearby table together with our table once we got too much food, which is quite unusual. We didn't even ask them or anything. They were very understanding. The food also had beautiful presentation; hopefully you can see the pictures. I love this place and am definitely coming back. Hopefully I will have room for dessert next time. 😋 Update: I made a subsequent take-home order and got the mango sticky rice!! 🥭 🍚 It was delicious.
My go-to place for Thai food in the area. From dining in to take out and delivery, I've enjoyed every dish I've tried. The best value and variety, in my opinion, is the curry à trois. The Khao Soi is also delicious and worth a try for a traditional Northern Thai dish.
Always love visiting this restaurant when in emeryville. I love their fried fish dish. The sides are also fantastic
An all time favorite for Thai. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious. My favorites are the Roti with green curry, gingerly ginger, and the salmon bowl. For drinks the lychee martini and ginger martini are delicious. The portions are generous and there’s never a wait to be seated. Service can be a tad slow but they’re very friendly.
I ordered take out, Pad Thai (chicken) and Drunken noodles (chicken). Really good food, freshly cooked. You have to ask for the sauces, they do not automatically include it in the takeout bag. The ambience is really good should you decide to eat inside
I think this is the best Thai restaurant in Emeryville. I am vegetarian and I have tried all vegetarian items here. All the items are good. I almost always try pineapple fried rice and it is good all the time. They are always consistent regarding the taste. In past they had messed up with my order by adding egg in it, but they fixed it by making fresh fish again. So if you are vegetarian then check your served item twice. Curries are good too. I generally order yellow curry which is good. They also offer cooking classes, but I have not attended any. I guess, it is good too.
Super tasty Thai food that's cooked really well with a nice presentation. We just ate here and already wanna go back. Service can be slow since they're a bit short staffed but their attitudes are all great. Just like being in Thailand without the travel costs
They're so kind and attentive, definitely reminds me of how 'service' was thought of before our descending into general meanness. The food is always EXCELLENT and they have GREAT cocktails that aren't $15-20 with like zero alcohol like soo many places post covid. They're great about dietary restrictions and menu changes. And they usually remember after 1 visit which is insanely rare nowadays!!! They're genuine, kind and clearly care. I hope people who live in the area give them a try or we'll lose another wonderful restaurant!!! PLEASE SUPPORT OUR LOCAL BUSINESS FOLKS!!!!
Delicious Thai food! Service was fast and they were really nice 🙌🏻 I had summer rolls and red curry both vegetarian: delicious. Food was beautifully presented. Cute interior. Will be back!
Excellent and authentic Thai food
This was my first time eating here. The staff was so friendly. We arrived 20 minutes before they closed. They did not make us feel rushed. The food was great and so were the portions. I will definitely be coming here again.
Great Thai food! I had the sole and it was amazing. The papaya salad had a different flavor than what I have had in the past, but it was fantastic new taste!
Very courteous staff and delicious food with oh so fresh ingredients!
Great Thai food. Great service, nice ambience and over all experience. They were able to make many of the entrees vegetarian with tofu instead of meat, which was nice. Will be going back! :)
Food is amazing. Good people too. The curries are delicious and their Tom yum and mango sticky rice are the best. They can cook here.
Fresh, well prepared food in an inviting atmosphere. You will feel like you’ve been transported to Thailand.
I had trout :) It was very soft! not fishy at all.
It's very delicious.
Great vegan options, cocktails, and service! They care a lot about their ingredients and food. Love the drunken noodle with impossible beef or tofu and pineapple fried rice. The sunburn cocktail is great. Everything we’ve had has been flavorful and well thought out. Hands down our favorite Thai place :) And the patio is dog friendly.
The name and location of the restaurant is kind of low key and I worry that they don't get the exposure or business it deserves. The bay area is loaded with all sorts of Thai food. This place has really clean tasting food, which keeps us coming back for more. COVID delivery has not only been fast and reliable, but the food seems to hold up well (taste and texture) after delivery. Some of our favorite dishes include the rice noodle and the duck red curry (among others). Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes too.
Great tasting food! Loved every appetizer and entree, their special crab curry(spicy though), the Thai coconut water and the coconut ice cream on stick mango rice
Amazing food and amazing service. The manager was personable and checked in offering members of our table a drink to cool the spice from his food.
Excellent food, fresh and vibrant. Impeccable service, elegant and respectful. And prices are really affordable. The ambiance is quiet, relaxed, peaceful. A memorable experience.
Thai cuisine presented with fresh veggies infused with savoury flavors balanced by primo chefs. Flourishes of Thai Chinese and mild green yellow curries to tease the palette. Summer Summer Thai is a must go to try and a must repeat experience. A gem in Emeryville.
Nice place, good food. Good service. Nice decor. Located off of one of the main roads in Emeryville. Probably will be able to find Street parking but it can get busy.
I've only been here once so far but was really impressed. I walked in on a whim as the menu looked really good. I had an appetizer and a soup (and Thai iced tea) and ask the dogs was really good. The Tom Yum soup was really really good. The flavor was complex (not just sour and hot). I want to come back many times to try more dishes. The service was friendly and pleasant as well. Yes they're more pricey than most Thai restaurants but there's a good reason.
I wish I'd gone sooner. Great flavors, the Crab Rangoon has real crab and taste, the ginger wok dish was fantastic as well as their drinks. Can't go wrong!
The restaurant at first looked like a cafe. However when we went in the place was a lot more spacious. The food was really good. I ordered the pork chop, which wasn't my usual Thai order, but it turned out to be really tasty.
Ordered the curry noodles in a party of 4, with satay and roti panang appetizers. Hearty and carefully spiced food, with reasonably generous portions of both meat and noodle in my curry. Service was immediate and our table received close attention. I'll definitely be returning with guests in the future.
I’m changing my review. I went back to this restaurant several times now and ordered through Caviar. The food has been outstanding. The portions have been excellent. In fact, I ordered brown rice with the chicken fried rice and it made the taste even better. Highly recommended. I think I caught them on a bad day before. Since they have mended their ways I will be back to being a loyal customer. Been ordering from this restaurant for awhile now. The food is pretty good but on my last takeout order they have substantially downsized the portion. The menu is a little pricey but the portions were always good. I called them and they said “it’s just the way it is now”.
This have been a go-to for our family and friends for 11+ years now. Always fresh, amazing, and great staff. Their dishes are fresher and better than any culinary experience I had in Thailand... which makes this my favorite Thai restaurant in the world:) Some of their dishes can be quite spicy no days, so be sure to let the chef know if you can't handle it so they go more mild.
A little bit of a wait but totally worth it for delicious and fresh cooked dishes. We got the fried trout, yellow curry, Tom yum, and fried banana dessert, every dish was a slam dunk. A must try especially since parking is so easy and service was great, thanks summer summer Thai!
Summer Summer has been my family’s go to Thai restaurant for over 10 years. Food is elevated and delicious! Service is amazing and the happy hour deal is hard to beat. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area.
I have gotten takeaway and delivery from here before, but I've never actually been inside. I'm usually the driver and my friend runs in to grab our order 🙈. This spot is absolutely cute! Perfect lil date night spot if I'm being honest. We walked in at a prime time about an hour-ish prior to closing. Waited about 15 minutes for a seat, which really wasn't bad at all. Decent turnover for tables and the ladies working here were so sweet to keep checking on us. Normally, I always get kao soi here for takeaway or delivery, but my friend wanted to share a few things. The short rib in green curry was a hit with my friend and I quite enjoyed the dish myself. Lots of eggplant, which I love personally and lots of curry sauce. Honestly, I adore when spots have lots of broth for their curry because it becomes a lil treat to get extra rice to soak up all the flavor. We both loved the grilled pork noodle! Once it's all mixed together, it's such a great dish for sharing! It has lots of wonderful flavors going on and I highly recommend trying it, if you eat pork. We didn't get dessert because we were stuffed, but absolutely would want to try it in the future. Great bar seating, so I may pop back in on my own now that I see how easy parking is at night in the area. Please do yourself a favor and come here, if it's been on your list. It's a great lil spot with easy parking, tasty food, and sweet people taking care of your grumbling tummy.
What a lovely restaurant, featuring authentic Thai dishes with SO much flavor, attention to detail and very fresh ingredients at reasonable prices. And to top it off, a service crew genuinely friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back!
I have had both lunch and several dinners here (all in 2025), and they have all been excellent. The owners are a wonderful couple from Thailand, and their service and food quality/presentations get my highest recommendation. The sweet sole and corn fritters as well as the sticky rice and coconut ice cream get rave reviews.
Pretty good food and friendly staff! I wish their fresh rolls would come with peanut dipping sauce instead of the sweet chili one, but that's my only complaint!
Food looks really nice, I was expecting more flavorful dishes but it was good.
Really loved the food and atmosphere here! Very good portions
Came for lunch with my coworkers and food was great which I got the grilled pork noodle. Only reason why I gave service a 3 star was that I got my food about 5-8 mins late from a party of 6. Server apologize for the delay on my food. They get busy so be patient. I recommend this place and ill come back.
I really want to like this place. I go back every once in a while to see if things have changed, but somehow one of the orders is always incorrect. The servers are friendly and seem to be on their game so I'm guessing there is some miscommunication going on with the kitchen staff? The wine list is surprisingly good at least, but there is better Thai food elsewhere. The space itself is sleek and modern.
I had the beef curry noodle with the lunch special and I was really disappointed. The curry tasted really watered down and there was literally 4 tiny little beef pieces that were tough. Also, I have tried many different Asian cuisine in my life and I never seen or taste what they claim to be a spring roll. That's not a spring roll as shown in the picture... I definitely don't recommend this place if you are trying to explore authentic Asian cuisine.
I ordered lunch from this location at around 1:45 pm; my order confirmation said my food would be ready at 2:01 pm. When I was heading to pick up my food I realized the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM. I thought, no biggie, I can pick it up once they open again. I went to pick up my food when they reopened and explained the situation the lady who greeted me at the front and she said they would remake my food. Then another lady comes out and hands me my food. As I thank her and start to head out she says, “we can’t do this for you again” I explained the situation to her and she says “you couldn’t call?” I understand I could’ve checked to see the time the restaurant closed but don’t need a lecture and the system could’ve also rejected my order if they were about to close. This is the first time I order food from here. Her attitude was very off putting and I was honestly not trying to finesse food from this place.
I usually don’t give negative feedback but I feel something is not right here. I paid $26.50 for this mignon plus another $5.00 for a mineral water for lunch. After that, I was still hungry. It was good but I would expect to feel satisfied. I would think twice about going there again.
