I really loved the area—such a great vibe—and the staff was absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and welcoming. I was expecting a bit more from the food, though. The portions were generous, which I appreciated, but I think I should’ve asked for more sauce—that might’ve made a difference. Drinks and food were definitely on the pricey side, but overall, the great atmosphere and amazing staff helped balance things out. I’d consider coming back, especially for the service and setting

They just opened on Grand Avenue in Escondido! I came in around 8:30 pm and bought a pecan pie. It was DELICIOUS!!! 5 stars! So fresh, hot, and tasted homemade! The woman taking my order was so nice and knowledgeable, and my pie was made fast. They have indoor seating as well as outside, with heaters available. They have a cute wood theme of the entire building inside, and it looks so elegant. A slice with a tip was around $8. They have soooo many tvs inside playing different sports games, but the tvs are silent, with light music playing overhead, so it wasnt loud in here; to me that is a huge plus! I always want to dine in at places that aren't blaring loud. I will absolutely be back!

Picked up the double potato skins to go, fast and easy to order, friendly and immediate service, potato skins were phenomenal, good crunch and creamy inside, bacon was worth the extra amount for sure

Decided to try something new on Grand Avenue and I’m so glad we found Bubba’s Kitchen. What a pleasant surprise! The vibe is fun and inviting with thoughtful decor, and we loved that you can choose between indoor or outdoor dining—perfect for any kind of day. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. And the food? So good. I had the potato skins (crispy, cheesy perfection), and my friends ordered a fresh, vibrant salad and a generous half chicken plate with sweet potato fries that looked phenomenal. Everyone left full and happy. Bubba’s is officially going on my “must return” list. Escondido needed a spot like this!

The food was hot and everything was absolutely delicious. It felt like a menu full of comfort food that just makes you feel good. Food aside, the service was truly incredible and by far the best I have experienced in my years in SoCal.we had multiple people check on us and everybody was so incredibly kind and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I feel like happy employees always make a business look good! The interior is also well decorated and a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal.

excellent brisket plate! served with a fixin & authentic texas toast 🍞 brisket was fork tender, smokey, lightly marbled, decent bark, and pink smoke line offering two sauce styles original and an authentic north carolina vinegar mop original has a medium light pour, a slight tag, rounded smokiness and mild spice profile the vinegar was very authentic south carolina style, overt tang and a little punch to remind the west coast where barbecue came from great selection of classic side fixins' with generous portions coleslaw was a refreshing purple & green cabbage, creamy, crispy, with a slight tang classic dill country potato salad was wonderful al dente, creamy delicious mac and cheese is a original elbow pasta cheddar mac with a slight cheese pull texas toast was amazing fluffy yet toasty garlic butter and herb 4.0 🔥🔥🔥🔥 i got the bread pudding to-go so ill have to come back for an updated review 🥧

Bacon burger was odd in flavor but other food was good. Not a ton of value for the experience. One of the waitresses was very bubbly and nice.

Lot’s of wood here which I appreciate. Although we dined inside it was pretty warm. Probably because the front of the restaurant is wide open, coupled with a myriad of skylights. Seems to be the norm for Grand Avenue these days. Service was quick, professional and reasonably friendly. Loved the draft beer selection here, served nice and cold. This establishment is not full bar unfortunately, so refering to it as a “sports bar” might be a misnomer. Men’s room was clean, spacious and modern. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken Platter. Comes with one fixin’ and a half slice of Texas Toast. Not sure who got the other half but that’s ok… I was hoping for a leg quarter but it wound up being a breast quarter. Not sure if there’s a choice here, but I wasn't asked. It was meaty, juicy and delicious, although watch out for small, random bones that manifest themselves when you chop a chicken breast in half that way. For the fixin’ I chose my favorite, macaroni & cheese! I was impressed that it seemed like a house made mac and not all institutional tasting. It should have been served hotter though, it was just varying degrees of warm throughout. The menu is vast with many other things I would love to try so I look forward to visiting again soon.

Bubba's is a new option in downtown Escondido offering traditional BBQ sides and platters. The chili fires and garlic mash were great but the vibe and service lacked. The waitress lacked energy and enthusiasm just like the overall ambiance. The place has potential but maybe needs some more energy.

Salad was a bowl of lettuce and one tomato. Our ribs were as dry as my skin. This restaurant seems newer and maybe getting acclimated. The service was fast.

Stopped in to watch some football and discovered that a sandwich/burger plus a small side comes to $22-$26. Beers are $10.00. So with tax and tip you're pushing $40 for one simple meal. I don't know, maybe the quality/quantity justifies it. Redeeming values were the visually delightful bar tendress and waitress and many TVs. I suggest the owner study the concept of price elasticity of demand (PED). It measures how sensitive the quantity demanded of a good is to changes in its price. I doubt their overhead on the Grand Avenue space is very high, so incremental revenue and profits seem quite possible.

Turkey club was fine, nothing wild ($17 á la carte) Ambiance at the bar had too many flies got offered a fly fan which helped. The back patio looked great, might come back to try again. One small gripe--the waitresses were eating in plain view, and personal belongings were visible, hoping they're still ironing out the kinks! 10/12/2025 Updated review Originally, I wrote a review that was honest, constructive, and even supportive--definitely not scathing.
