We were visiting Evansville and found this as a restaurant with gluten free options. We were surprised to find a bar style establishment that served sushi but the sushi chef is a separate entity and a separate kitchen. I am gluten free, not diagnosed celiac, and ordered the BLT tots and they were so good!! I’d highly recommend. We ordered two sushi rolls as well and pleased with the outcome. We ordered the Crab Rangoon (my non-GF husband) and the Fantasy Roll (GF option). We would definitely visit this place again.

Update: I've been to Drake's a handful of times & it is always consistently good. I always sit at the bar, & have no complaints about the food or the service First time for my companion and I to eat here. We only waited a short while to be seated. We started with the sushi. He got a california roll, calamari roll, and scallop roll. I got the flying fish roe. All dishes were very fresh and good. I ordered the blue burger and he got the mushroom swiss burger. Both burgers were huge and very well seasoned. We were stuffed when we left. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend

One year later!! The staff at this location are always super friendly and helpful and the is ALWAYS fresh, hot and out in time!!!! This restaurant is THE BEST!!! From the pretzel stick appetizer, to the sushi and the teriyaki chicken bowl. Everything from the food to environment was fantastic. Great food, spectacular service and a friendly wait staff. We will definitely be back. PS: This restaurant makes for a GREAT date night.

I was able to get in to eat almost as soon as I stepped in the doors. Was seated at the spot closest to the fireplace with very nice chairs. The waiter was very nice and gave us plenty of time to figure out my food. The food was very great, especially the sushi. I was genuinely surprised with the quality of the food since I didn't expect a place with sushi and burgers. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends.

This place was great! Its very kept, and modern. It also was very busy, but the staff was on it. They seated me with no problems and the waiter KT was great. He was helpful in deciding what we wanted as well as being very friendly and courteous. I come across a lot of staff, but he was one of the best. The food was fantastic, especially the fried pickles which so far has to be the best ive had yet. I will say the ranch that came with them added to much vinegar to the meal as the pickles already had the taste. Id suggest keeping the normal ranch. You guys also did an amazing 25% military discount and that alone will keep me returning! Support our troops!!! All in all you guys we're awesome and keep the good work up.

There are different seating types so be aware when coming in. I didn't know and was taken to a high top with tall barstools. I can't sit up on those so they quickly cleaned a normal table. Our waitress was amazing! We ordered the filets and sushi. Meat was very tender. Fries and tots were good. My sushi was really good. My husband usually gets fried. But I took the top fish off of mine and he liked it better than his. Lots of different items to try.

Drake's is a wonderful restaurant on the east side of Evansville that proudly serves, "Beer, Burgers, and Sushi." The building is modern and resembles a hidden tucked away sports bar. I enjoy the outer brick design with the wooden accents along the entrance. There are three large 'doors' that do open up and allow for a 'patio' type experience, which adds an extra wow factor to your dining experience. The parking lot and surrounding areas were very clean and well maintained as well. For the early afternoon, we did not have a wait time to be seated and were done so promptly. Our table was clean and stocked, the floors were clean and debris free, and the overall atmosphere was great. The restroom was well lit, clean, stocked, and didn't smell foul at all. There were multiple TV's over the bar located in the center and plenty of beer brand and liquor brand décor hanging on the walls, and it was nice and bright as well. There was a rather small sushi station close to the kitchen entrance. I wasn't really able to see the chefs utilizing there skills which I feel always adds to the dining experience. I believe that a larger sushi bar would help benefit the restaurant, since it is part of the menu and slogan. As far as service goes, the entire entourage was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and engaging. We had a question about a mixed drink from the bar and different liquor options as well as amounts. Our server notified the bar tender, who then in turn, took the time to come over and help us discover alternate drink options and combinations. Service at its best! We ordered a couple of separate items and they were spot on! Burgers weren't soggy, sushi was exquisite, and the fried pickles were awesome! The PQA value was exceptional to say the least. Our overall price was quite fair for our food since our burgers and portions were rather large (not complaining!), and the overall quality of our food was amazing! We will definitely be returning soon! Their hospitality, hit me, 'In My Feelings!'

Taylor was the best waitress! We had awesome drinks, the best fried pickles ever, and everyone loved their food. The service was awesome. I really liked the quesadilla. The burgers looked awesome. We waited an hour and a half. The hostess team estimated our wait perfectly, too. It was a busy night but perfect!

First time I've had a burger and sushi. The Crab Rangoon Roll was very good. The place is full of very loud music and screens playing all differet manner of program. I just wasn't expecting that much noise.

Our waitress was amazing, as we're our fried pickles. Most of my 8 party group enjoyed their food and the 2 that didn't said they will come back to try something else. We were placed at a high table with bar stools, which wasn't ideal, but we didn't say anything due to having such a large party. I leave you with a warning: Their Buffalo sauce is HOT, but good.

We've been here a few times. First, the fries and the breaded chicken sandwich are amazing. My husband thought his burger was excellent as well. We haven't ventured out much more on the menu. Service has been meh. Particularly bad last time. Waitress was friendly but not at all attentive. When our food came out we asked for silverware because none was at the table. She said sure but immediately went over to take the order of a larger table. Not wanting our food to get cold, I got up and went to get some silverware. She came back over a handful of minutes later and brought some. A little later I ran out of my drink. She came over and took the order of a table behind me but didn't turn around to check on us. So, I got up to make my way over to the soda machine. Another waiter intercepted and refilled my drink. I get it to a point- customer service and wait staff competency are getting worse and worse and it's a bummer to see businesses struggle with the turnover. I'll be back in spite of the service because the food is delish. Since I know where to get the drink refill and silverware I should be set.

Food was great. It was really windy and being an open restaurant some people didn't like their table. They seemed to be very accommodating for seating as I watch a couple of ladies pick three different tables. I didn't notice that the food was taking a bit long but the manager did and gave us a discount. Very nice place. We went during lunch on a Monday.

A step above Chili's and Applebee's, above average bar food flavor with a menu more enhanced than your average family dining/neighborhood bar. What really sold me was Josh, our server, and Drake, the host. They both exemplified very good customer service and should be commended for it. There are no locations in Georgia (where I live) that I am aware of, but the wife and I visit family In Evansville, Indiana a few times a year, so there is a definite chance we shall return one day, and I am alright with that.

I NEVER leave reviews however, after our experience last night I felt it was warranted. We came specifically to Evansville last night to go to Drakes for supper. Upon arrival we joined the waitlist and were told the wait was approximately 20 minutes. No big deal they were extremely busy. After waiting 30-40 minutes we finally got the text that our table was ready, 30 seconds from parking lot to podium just to be told that they had given our table to someone else because of a complaint! I would have understood if it had taken us an extended amount of time to get inside but 30 seconds? The hostess was very sweet and you could see she was extremely uncomfortable with the situation. At this point we are told it will be another 10-15 minutes being extremely upset we just said no and left. Being very frustrated with the situation the restaurant was called and a manger named Blake was told of the situation and stated that someone would be reaching out immediately via email. STILL NOTHING. We have frequented Drakes often and always have had the best service and food so this is extremely disappointing.
