I really liked eating here. My favorite part was the carrot cake, which was incredible. I also liked the balsamic vinegar brussel sprouts and the mussels. I'm not sure what they do to get the brussel sprouts to taste so good because they never turn out like that when I make balsamic vinegar brussel sprouts at home. I had the pasta di Amalfi as my entree which had a green sauce and tasted bright and flavorful. I'm happy that they had several vegan and vegetarian options that were clearly labeled. Though I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for vegans per se (because most of the dishes are more centered around animal products), if you are trying to eat a plant based diet, you can still eat here, and the food is great. I really liked the overall ambience and how attentive the servers were.
This is now my favorite restaurant in Ohio! We had a lovely, extremely delicious dinner by candlelight, while music from the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's played in the background. It was a wonderful experience! I would love to dine here again soon for the atmosphere alone, but the food is fantastic! Our server was Macrey and he was perfect! The only way this place could be improved would be by having a dance floor. I genuinely love this place!
Excellent dinner! Very cozy inside and super friendly staff! Fried calamari was delicious as was our entrees... Chicken parm and fettuccine alfredo. Sour dough bread for the table was one of the best we've ever had!! Definitely a must try or return visit!!
A delightful gem in Fairfield. I have been there many times. Never had the same item twice. Always great service and quality. The atmosphere is open, yet intimate, sitting in the bar area for small parties and outside or in the side room for larger groups. My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely evening with a great bottle of wine and killer bread. Meghan was our amazing server, she took the pictures. I suggest the fried risotto balls or toasted ravioli to start, pasta/mains "Do Not Miss", and plenty of dessert options, we went with carrot cake. Highly recommend!!!
Hands down one of the best dining experiences we've had and quite a long time. It was so easy to make a reservation on OpenTable. The Host and our server were so friendly and the vibe was so positive and refreshing. I'm sensitive to lighting in restaurants and they had the best lighting. The ambiance is romantic and very complimentary to the good food. I could also see having a girls' night out here at this place too. Very fun. We started with the brussel sprouts that were amazing. We ordered the branzino and the filet and it was the best steak I've ever had in my life. That is saying a lot because I've had a lot of steak LOL. All of our steaks were cooked perfectly to temperature in season so well with the most buttery mashed potatoes and Al dente asparagus. We had the flirtini cocktail which was so good. We had the espresso martini and we enjoyed the beers on tap. Sourdough crisp bread. The pasta is amazing and the sauce was so tasty. Everything is truly home-scratch made. Our friend did not share his ricotta cheesecake! He said it was the best he has ever had and literally finished it in 2 seconds. The carrot cake was delicious, the thick cream cheese frosting is sooo good. We will come back again and again. The vibe is here. Lastly we were very impressed with the prices. It was perfect for Valentine's Day.
My wife and I went for a belated valentine’s/my birthday/Mother’s Day dinner since we have kids it’s so hard to get out! So we combine holidays! McRae (I apologize if I spelled his name incorrectly) was absolutely fantastic! Attentive and yet respectful of our time and let us dine! The food was incredible as always! I highly recommend this place if you’ve never been! Get the tiramisu for dessert trust me! When we dine in we always look at the pizzas but never get them because we want traditional Italian when dining. So we got them to go yesterday (pictured are the margarita and honey pepperoni? I believe it’s called) both incredible!! Support this place over corporately owned places! It’s just better! Oh! If dining in get the fried raviolis or arancini! You won’t regret it!
A Must-Try Dining Experience I was recommended this place by word of mouth and decided to visit on a Saturday night with my girlfriend. Given how packed it was, I was glad I made a reservation—definitely something I’d recommend for anyone planning a visit. Upon walking in, we were greeted with a smile by the friendly staff, who worked with a sense of urgency without being rude—a great first impression. We were seated at a small table in a tightly packed area, which made the space feel a bit crammed. The proximity to other tables meant we could overhear conversations, and I assume others could hear us too. While it wasn’t a dealbreaker, I’d recommend requesting a booth for more space and privacy if that’s your preference. Our server, Anthony, did a phenomenal job—attentive but never intrusive. He struck the perfect balance between checking in and giving us space. He also let us know that everything on the menu was made in-house, except for the bread service and gelato. We started with water, and I appreciated that it was served in a 2-liter glass bottle—a small touch that I love because it allows me to self-serve throughout the meal, giving me a sense of control. For drinks, we ordered: -House Blend Dark Coffee – Rich, robust, and flavorful, without being too bitter or overpowering. It struck the perfect balance. -Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon – A well-balanced red wine, perfectly walking the line between dry and sweet while complementing our meal. For appetizers, we went with the bread service, which came with olive oil and butter. The portion sizes were generous, and the price-to-portion ratio felt very reasonable. The bread was a perfect warm-up for what was to come! Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, the main courses proved me wrong! -Blackened Grilled Chicken Alfredo – Unlike the typical white sauce alfredo, this one had a rich, buttery, golden-yellow sauce that was incredibly flavorful. From the first bite, the aroma and creamy texture made the experience indulgent and satisfying. The noodles were soft and perfectly cooked, while the chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. My only suggestion would be to add broccoli or another fibrous vegetable something I’ll definitely request next time! -Gnocchi Bolognese – This dish was another standout! The red sauce, beef, and braised veal created a rich and hearty flavor profile that was unforgettable. The gnocchi were perfectly cooked—soft and tender yet firm enough to hold their shape. Every bite was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and my mouth is watering just writing about it! Needless to say, we cleaned our plates. The portions were large, and even as someone who usually orders a second entrée to feel full, I was completely satisfied—so much so that we didn’t have room for dessert, despite how tempting everything sounded. We left in a full-on food coma! This was an amazing dining experience, and I can’t wait to return to try their lasagna and gelato next time. If you’re looking for a place with exceptional food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely a must-visit!
Can’t go wrong at this place. We’ve been here three times now. You can tell everything is made from scratch fresh by a good chef. We’ve ordered cacio pepe, salmon risotto, branzino, mussels, affogato, and bread - all amazing. Lasagna and pizza also pretty good. Service always good. Old fashion was good. And on top of that, it is very reasonably priced. I’m really not sure how they do it in this economy. Our favorite restaurant in Cincinnati.
I actually went here during the snow emergency and I received very high-quality of Customer Service. Everything is made in house and fresh and ready to order. They even acknowledge my small win. I was there actually celebrating an accomplishment for work. I really truly appreciate it. This is a great place if you love Italian dishes. I’ll definitely be back!
First time going. And it was very busy. But the service was excellent. Our waiter was very informative and kept our water full and checked back with us quite regularly. We asked to make some special changes to some of the meals. He stated that would be no problem whatsoever. All of the food was great. We had specialty cocktails. They were great as well. I look forward to coming back to this restaurant.
This place is fantastic! The service was exceptional. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Kevin was the standout. He was attentive and thoughtful, allowing us to take our time without feeling rushed. He even surprised us by bringing out a dessert for my friend’s birthday, making the night even more special. His kindness was truly remarkable. The food was fresh and flavorful. We started with the arancini and bread service, which had great portions. The chicken alfredo was perfectly cheesy, and the chicken was cooked just enough to keep it juicy and flavorful. To end the night, I enjoyed a chilled, homemade limoncello—absolutely perfect. On top of that, Wednesdays are half-off bottles of wine, which is a great deal. I can’t wait to return!
Always a great time here. The food is fantastic and the waitstaff are consistently on their game. The portion sizes are extremely generous. My wife and I usually split an appetizer, a salad, and an entree and have leftovers to take home. This almost seems expected, all the food is fashionably plated even when ordering split dishes. The restaurant itself is cute and comfortable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Caruso’s in Fairfield was absolute OUTSTANDING! Our server Helena was amazing and gave excellent customer service. The Manager was also Fantastic. I recommend the Filet Mignon as it was so tender and juicy and grilled to perfection. The Pappardelle Mushroom Ragu will melt in your mouth, and the Carrot Cake and Donuts will make you want seconds. So good! We will definitely be back!!! What a GEM!
I’ve been 3-4 times now and had excellent food every visit. This building formerly held The Spinning Fork, but I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit that Caruso’s is more in tune with a fine dining experience. If you’re on a tight budget or in a rush, I’d suggest going a different route, but if you’re looking for a genuinely nice, delicious Italian meal then this is a very solid recommendation. All of the appetizers I’ve had were very good, but the Arancini might be my favorite. They’re plump, fried risotto balls, stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella, with marinara sauce and olive oil. I really came to talk about the entrees though, as they’re a knockout. Just superb. My girlfriend loves the Gnocchi Bolognese, and I can attest it’s expertly crafted. But my favorite (see attached picture) is the Rigatoni Rustica. Now in the pantheon of my favorite Italian dishes period. Rigatoni, spicy sausage bits, chicken, sliced shishito peppers, white wine cream sauce, and baked to finish. Words won’t do it justice. The cream sauce is heavenly, and the sausage and peppers give it amazing flavor and texture, baking it at the end makes the dish come out scalding hot, which makes the flavors shine even more. Last night we had a server named Kevin, at first, I was a little surprised as he seemed very young, but did a terrific job, even gave me some “off-menu” tips like you can swap out or mix sauces on a lot of their signature dishes, etc. Looking forward to my next meal there.
I had the meatball app, the chicken parm and carrot cake! The food was great except they could have strained the pasta a little longer. There was so much water under the pasta and chicken parm, it caused the chicken parm breading to get soggy and fall off! A little disappointing, but the flavor was still there. The service was exceptional!!!
Great local scratch kitchen (made to order). Calamari appetizer was excellent, cooked well (not rubbery/chewy. Mushroom entree was excellent. Definitely recommend. My only complaint is that the chairs are uncomfortable hence the4 stars for atmosphere.....
Me and my boyfriend decided to do date night here since he had been working in Fairfield and it had caught his eye. The ambiance of the restaurant is not too fancy but more so a laidback old Italian vibe. We sat in the sunroom that evening and it had almost no air conditioning so I do not recommend sitting back there. Our waiter however was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us decide what to get. The portion sizes are a little large and definitely could be spilt between two people. The tiramisu however was some of the best I've ever had.
The ambience was really nice whether it's for a date, family meal, or hanging. I give them a 4 star because the women's restroom needs to be updated/remodeled. The wall paper was peeling/torn and the toilets and floors can be updated. The food and service was great.
This place is nice inside and has a good atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Others said the food they had was good. We were two vegans in a larger group. For vegans while I appreciate the marked menu options they have some that are incorrectly marked as vegan friendly while having cheese in them so I am not too confident the staff and management fully appreciate it understand what is on their menu. That said, I was able to order and be a part of something and that was nice. Unfortunately the vegan pasta I had was ... Just okay? It was basically noodles, oil, quartered tomatoes, sliced onions, and chickpeas. For that I paid $21. Since we were in a party of over 7 people they added an automatic 20% gratuity. So that means together we spent $50 on two plates of pasta - before tips or drinks - that probably cost $1.50 to make at most. Now I'm not completely put off because again the service and ambiance was nice - it really was. And just because it was more expensive than the sum of the ingredients doesn't make it bad either but my pasta was genuinely not flavorful. I was pretty disappointed. I didn't finish it and the leftovers still sit on my fridge, untouched, two days later. I guess what I'm saying is it was nice enough. But for a vegan definitely don't waste your money. Your milage may vary
Just had a steak there this evening. When I walked in the daily special had 2 choices of steak for $39. I ordered the special. When I got the bill it was $59. I spoke to the manager. No acknowledgement of bait and switch. I even went out to take a photo of the sign. It was erased. Poor customer service to not acknowledge the situation. They have good food. I will never go back. If you do not care about your customers, you do not deserve my business!
