Only tried 1 beer while there. The raider red was good to style but basic. Purchased the fluffy and double fluffy ipas for later. Great location in fairport.
Such a nice venue. Friendly, fun, good drinks and the music was awesome with Different Every Time.
This is a great place to slide into after work for a cold one. Early evening is good too. Good folks in the crowd. Our bartender was great too.
Pretty tight space in the winter, but that just makes it cozy! I haven't had a chance to try out the patio in the summer, but the beers are good and I'm looking forward to it.
Great ownership and awesome live music. Definitely make sure you try out the Apollo 8 and Fluffy series!
Best bartender ever! Great drinks! Great vibe!
This place is very welcoming, the employees are super friendly and they have a decent amount of drinks of all variety to choose from!
The kombucha is the best! All flavors are wonderful but I especially enjoy the turmeric ⭐️ Jeanne M.
FBC on University recently hosted a private event for a large group. They were amazing to work with and could not have been more accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Lisa was sooooooo amazing. She really helped us feel at home, even with our kids along!
Great outdoor place to hear live bands with ample seating and craft beer to enjoy. Brian Lindsay Band was rocking the place on a beautiful warm summer evening!
Best bar ever and the owners/bartenders are absolutely incredible!!! Love it and so will you ❤️ Julia is the best!!!
This is my review as a person who does not drink alcohol. I did want to chime in and say I really enjoy their Kombucha on tap and the atmosphere. My partner and I went and enjoyed a few drinks, food truck food, and just relaxing.
What a great Local Brewery! They sometimes have live music which is a lot of fun. It is in a great location in the town and the beer is really good. Grab a group of friends and head on over! Well worth the visit.
Terrific local brewery for two key reasons: Excellent engagement from owner Kevin who is exceptionally knowledgeable of local flavors and brews. One of a kind innovative beer/kombucha hybrid is the first kombucha experienced and apparently is a North American Brewers award winner. Must try.
excellent place. with definitely be back. staff and owner are exceptional people. great service every time.
Great little brewery. My favorites were the kid and the oh-pa very tasty. Great location. Cozy in the winter and they have a garage door that opens up for warm days to make it more open. Excellent!
I love the area and the vibe. Very nice place to just relax, eat amazing food, drink amazing drinks. Service was amazing, took care of me. People were amazing and the parking was easy to find. I had an amazing time!
My wife and I love it here. Make it in a few times per month. Beer is very good, so is the kombucha. Love the rotating variety of beers. Atmosphere is very cozy.
Visiting from Memphis. Met one of the most hospitable and informative employees of an outstanding beer product. The hard kombucha is unique and a must try. You should stop on your tour if visiting!
Spent the weekend with Tim! We had a great time and he brought some of his awesome beers!!
Great Beer! Great atmosphere! The signature drinks are excellent! 👍🇺🇸
Great place good people. Live music and good beer. Cheers
Really cool place to hangout with friends, they have a wide variety of really good beer as well. I was here during the canal days festival and they were running like a well oiled machine. Definitely going back
Really great beers, good prices and friendly service. They even opened up a can to give us cider as part of the flight. Really cool vibe too. I Highly recommend while in Fairport
Just recently tried the peach flavor Timbucha kombucha (we got a couple cans from Tops)..and it is hands down the best kombucha I've had! My husband especially, drinks lots of kombucha and we both are very pleased and glad to support a local kombucha business! Highly recommend that other kombucha lovers, try it!
Great people, great atmosphere. Food was exceptional, service was even better
My hometown Brewery ❤️ Love both locations of FBC! Nothing better than kicking back with my favorite flavor of brew listening to live music out on the patio!!!
Fairport Brewing provides a fun open mic night! You can't find a better patio to drink on during the summer.
Had a great time here! We really enjoyed our drinks while listening to live music. The bartenders were both fun and helpful as we tried to make our selections. Came back the next day for lunch and played some corn hole. Will come back often.
Another great time at FBC! Sipped on a spectacular sour beer while watching one of the best bands of the Steel Rails weekend: The Fornieri Brothers. I only had time for a few so I tried their light beer selection. At 4.0 APV it was refreshing, carbonated and light. Great space right on the corner. The bartender inside was friendly offering me samples and I tipped him accordingly. Thanks for a great time--see you soon. I need to get back to the University location soon!
Love everything about FBC, the beer, the atmosphere, the staff. They do a great job every time I go!! I highly recommend to anyone!!
Great location, awesome local brews & Mary absolutely kicks ass slinging drinks & keeping the conversation going.
My husband and I had a great time at FBC! Such a cute, welcoming environment and the drinks were all delicious. I loved the hard kombucha and the beers were so smooth and easy to drink. Tim (the owner) is super cool, fun guy to be around. The Fairport location has adorable fire pits and the University location has string lights and a stage for live music when COVID is over. Can’t wait to go back!
Always enjoy our time and the brews at Fairport Brewing. Tim and the crew always do their best to make folks welcome.
Hands down best beer in Fairport. Not only is the beer great, but the variety of beverage choices is endless with new beers coming out frequently. Every so often, I try something new. For example, last month I had their mead (their ginger mead) and it was fantastic. Also, I love the environment. The Fairport location is quaint inside and when weather permits, the outside patio is awesome (fire pits, live music, burgers and dogs, and beer).
Mary did a wonderful job serving me. She provided wonderful service & was very attentive to making recommendations for a new drink to try! We’ll be back!
We were warmly greeted when we walked in. There was a party ending when we got there so it was pretty lively. The atmosphere was lovely and the bartender was amazing.
FBC is my favorite local hangout, especially any given Wednesdays. And Christy is far and away the best bar tender in Rochester.
FBC Kombucha is the tastiest! Love hanging out inside or out at FBC in Fairport...the best Main St. Fairport setting with music and unique brews. Great venue space at University Ave. brewery location.
Thr wife and I had stopped in forgone quick drink and had suchba great time...we stayed till closing 🙃
I just enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with friends on the FBC patio. Mary had an ice cold Rattlesnake Pete's rootbeer and a smile waiting for me. I am looking forward to the bands this summer!
Stopped in for some girls night drinks last night. Christy was so kind and personable. She also gave us some great recommendations of other area hotspots. Looking forward to returning soon!
Great place. Fun family atmosphere, nice regular people, beer is stellar and the sunshine is great !
Upstate NY’s best brewery. I live in Michigan, my family lives in Rochester. Always stop here when in town. Tops!
Wow this lace is fantastic. We had a graduation party here. Venue was perfect with easy parking and a beautiful space. But then the staff, you can’t find better. Fast service, the best espresso martinis martini’s, old fashioned’s, and they remember you every time you cane up. Just a beautiful space, with amazing staff. Don’t think twice, book it now!
We had an event there after our senior day at the Rochester location and we had a blast! Big space, excellent bartender, games and karaoke. The parents and boys had a great time together!
I had a great experience here for my first time! Mary was lovely! Cocktail was great! Also came for trivia and would definitely come again!
I had a very wonderful time celebrating my best friends 30th birthday at this location! Hilary was a fabulous bar tender keeping everyone at the party happy and hydrated. She let us do karaoke too which was a highlight of the night! Very spacious. Coordinating the event was a smooth process and I would recommend hosting a party here!
FBC hosted my mom’s surprise bday party and it truly was the best experience ever. The even coordinator, Kristen, was beyond accommodating and helpful. The staff and bartenders during the party were so energized and excited to help us celebrate. I can’t say enough positive things about our time with Christy at FBC. Thank you all!
I love this place, it has always been my favorite place to relax, unwind and get away from a crazy world (Bills). The people server, boss, are all fantastic and friendly. I also love the outdoor environment (Bonefire) and all the events this place has offered and more. I will continue to come here for a long time 🫡🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great Brewery!! Met owner Tim and wife…. Amazing!!! Melissa is super sweet! Cool, historic building and great beers- and Mead! I had a cider- delicious! Will certainly be back! Thank you!! CHEERS!!! Ps.. I am getting the “Fairport Float” next time!!!
Went to the University Ave location last week and had a great time with my wife. I'm a big IPA fan and their Apollo 8 double IPA was outstanding! My wife loves ciders and absolutely loved the Blue Barn Jostiberry Jam. Will be back!
I absolutely love this brewery and the people that run it. Fantastic, revolving beer recipes (some delightfully off centered) that never fail to disappoint. Also, aside from some tropically brewed concoctions in Costa Rica, I never had a kombucha that liked until I tried them here. Combined with friendly service and good prices, FBC is a win, win WIN!
We chose Fairport Brewing Company to celebrate my sons 30th birthday party. The venue was exceptional with a big stage for our friend DJ Mella. Plenty of room for our casino tables through Vegas Events. Fully stocked bar. Friendly staff that assisted with all details from beginning to end. Our family will definitely be coming back for future events. Thank you FBC for making our special night memorable!
Don't mind the reviews on Google. A lot of unfounded hate is coming through to a really cool place. The beer is unique and although some of the selections of flavorings are not what I would choose, I've still found it's decent enough. I laugh because you can go to a place like NYBP in victor and people are drinking swill and raving about it because of the presentation. This place does a good job with live music every week and for that they deserve a better review... - your local musician and beer connoisseur
In town for an Erie Canal trip. Felt like having a brew at the local brewery. Fairport Brewing was an awesome choice. The beers I had here were awesome, true crafters. If you love raft beer, this is the place. The staff was super helpful in helping my wife and I choose what to drink. When in town, be sure to stop by this gem, we’ll worth the trip.
FBC has a warm, cozy atmosphere and a decent selection of locally brewed beers on tap. The lack of a food menu and higher prices are drawbacks.
Red Ale 4.9abv very good malt and floral ; NE-IPA [Fluffy] very good great floral low bitter almost sessionable. - limited parking.
Tiny, old gas station converted into brew pub. Very little seating inside. Most people prefer to sit outside in good weather, but noise from street can make it hard to maintain a conversation. Excellent, rotating selection of beers. No food service, except from rotating food food trucks. I have seen some people bring their own food and snacks.
Nice homey feel to the decor, slightly subdued lighting was a real improvement over a number of other brewpubs we visited were they were lit like operating rooms. Great and friendly owner counterbalanced rather disengaged bartender. Overall a nice cozy feel to it .
Great place. Parking is difficult but they are kind of in a bind. What can they do? Knock down old historic buildings? Anyway, the beer is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Give them a try. You won't regret it. P.S. This place is dog friendly. That's a win in my book. I'd go to a dog friendly business over a non-friendly business.
We went on a Friday afternoon and there was only one bartender, so things were a bit backed up. At one point the owner came in to help with an issue with one of the kegs and we asked if he could cash us out because we were just standing there with our beers that we had just gotten, and he just pointed at the busy bartender and said, “she’ll take care of it.” 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ The beer was good, and the outdoor environment was really nice. The lady who ran the grille was also excellent, and the food was good. We met a lot of dogs, and a couple nice people. Just unfortunate that as out of towners, we witnessed the owner treating his business with such disregard. Hope he turns that around in the future and either starts helping out, or stays away.
Old gas station converted large surrounding deck with big tikki torches. 6 draft lines and many bottles. Mug club filling two walls. Next to old mansion now restaurant. Serve liquor but due to farm Brewey liquor license some quirky source y serving differences. Quaint cozy y a must return spot. Update 7 days later Bands Fri Sat y Meet The Press food truckwe
When did this place become a generic full liquor bar instead of a nano/micro brewery? Mostly guest beers on tap. It’s lost all its character.
Beautiful spot and a great location. Hopefully it was a fluke cause in the past I've loved their beer, but the last 2 I had to abandon early from off flavors
It was ok. Beer was all over 8% which doesn’t make it a great place to go for a few drinks. Tasted ok, no flights which was a disappointment. Prices were too high. Won’t return. Other places are better.
I like the spot and the outdoor patio on the corner, fun with music and they have the connect 4 and corn hole that my kids like to play with. I do have to say their beer selection has gone downhill. It's a ton of kombucha on tap, out of season beers like their Oktoberfest beer in mid-June. Last time I tried fluffy it was a new keg, and it looked green, never settled after 10+ min and tasted horrible. They need more normal IPA's and lagers, etc. Its worth going if you want to sit outside and have 1 drink for some music, but if you're looking to enjoy beer, and a different selection of good beers, this is not the place (ironically). I do agree with some of the other reviews - as a craft beer lover for years, there is something very off with the taste of some of these beers.
Haven't been here in quite some time. Stopped by after dinner in Fairport on a Friday at about 7:30. It was not busy (3 other customers). I asked for a sample of the Christmas ale. The sample was warm. I asked the server if a full poor would be as warm. He was very put off that I would request a 2nd sample. It's not like the place was swamped! I ended up ordering that beer. It was very good. A smile, a "I'm glad you stopped in" or any kind of friendly banter would have been very welcome. Not hustling back.
I am leaving this review from a place of concern and not disdain as I truly want to see the best for this brewery; I will start my review by saying the tap list was vast with many options and the service was fantastic, especially considering how busy of a night it was (for reference; Friday, July 14th, not sure of the servers name) and being the only server behind the bar. I genuinely appreciate that this brewery supports local musicians and that we had some easy listening covers of notable classics to enjoy. With all that being said I believe there is cross contamination between the Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast in the Kombucha and the beer. My group of 4 tried at least 8 of the beers on tap and they all have the same sour, borderline rotten finish on the palette, and based on other reviews people have noticed it. I won’t say that I am a professional by any stretch of the imagination but I have been studying and practicing for long enough to understand what a cross contamination tastes like and at least 8 other people in line were also talking about the off flavors present in the beer and discussing other options as I could hear them speaking directly behind me. I don’t know if you ferment and keg all of it in the same fermenters and kegs but based on the taste a pretty bad outbreak has occurred and if you are using the same kegs and fermenters for both products I would cut operations on that as soon as possible, and even separate the brew houses as bacterial contamination can spread like wildfire and it is extremely important to keep them completely separated. At first I thought it was the lines, but I had a Jostaberry cider made at Blue Barn Cider and it was the only palatable drink I tried off the tap leading me to firmly believe this is without a doubt a bacterial contamination. I hope you guys can figure it out and get it under control. I will be back in a few months and hope for an improvement in quality. Again I am no professional, but I tried the stout, fluffy ipa, blonde ale, blueberry wit, the sour, and Apollo and they all shared the same sour off flavors. Sincerely, A concerned customer.
Tiny bar with great atmosphere. Beer was not award winning but did the job. Couple of outside brews from local vendors saved the day. Still recommend as Fairport is a great area.
Used to be 4 stars but they aren't making their own beer at the moment (all summer) Also not as many chairs or fire pits as they used to have. Have to bring your own chairs now.
The beer isn't awful, but their best beer is simply average. There are a lot of better options, including Triphammer Bierworks, which is just down the road. With so many great microbreweries in Rochester, there isn't really a reason to go here.
We went there on Saturday during the Octoberfest and they only had 5 beers on tap. Only one was brewed by FBC, a cream ale! They use to offer 8-10 FBC brewed beers at any time. Seems like this location isn't getting the attention the new spot is.
The location for this brewery is amazing but that doesn’t make up for the beer. The beer I had at this establishment was far from perfect. I sampled multiple different beers and they all lacked flavor and had a very similar strange after taste. Unfortunately the best beverage on their tap was the cider. I can’t speak on the kombucha.
Decent-ish vibe, but it feels oddly cheap inside. Beer was really off. Not sure if it’s draft lines or process, but the Fluff was unbearably bad - mixture of movie theatre butter and vomit. Green lager was flat and had a sticky mouthfeel. Service was fine. Dave seems like a nice guy. Overall I can’t recommend right now, but I’ll be back to see if the beer gets better.
I try to go to many local breweries and this "brewery" gave more of a pub/bar feel. selection was okay, a little upset they did not offer a flight. Overcrowded with a messy/sticky scenery with spilled drinks and empty cans, cups, and glasses. live entertainment was cool but too small to enjoy the inside of the building. I was "hip checked" multiple times when i was seated and it seemed to have only rowdy, middle aged regulars.
Beers are consistently lackluster, and a minimal selection. Cute little location though, and nice outdoor space. Unfortunately have experienced numerous rude employees across multiple visits, which has really ruined it for me, and makes me not want to return (although I've given it multiple tries). Head over to the Parce Street area instead if you're in the village of Fairport.
Great location and the outdoor seating is nice. The beer, or lack of beer, was not so nice. They didn't have a single beer of their own on tap, only two varieties in cans. Beer was ok. There's much better breweries out there. We won't be back.
Love the location. During nice weather when walking through the village with the dog we often have stopped to see friends here. But the beer is mediocre, there are so many amazing breweries in the area, I wish they would step up their game.
I recently visited Fairport Brewing Company and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the bartender (Kristen, I think?) was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, I was disappointed by the beer quality. While the ambiance was pleasant and quaint, the brews were far below average in flavor and lacked the depth I expected from a craft brewery. If you're looking for great service and don't mind compromising on the beer quality, this might be the spot for you.
Honestly, the beer is mediocre, and the leadership is unpleasant. Best to avoid this place. Spend your money elsewhere, where they make actual craft beer and the staff behave as decent members of the community.
Great location. Beer not so good. Especially if you're a brewery. They also don't like art work.
One star for the location. Really mediocre beer (when they had their own. 3 heads is amazing, but go to the source instead) and the person serving was rude. Returned my flight full the last time I was there and it was all their own beer. Except for Fluffy and Double Fluff, there are too many good breweries in the area more worthy of add support, including Triphammer, which is stellar and Fairport's only real brewery.
Fairport Brewing Company occupies a beautiful spot in the heart of Fairport, full of inviting ambience. After surveying the selection of beers on tap; however, one is ultimately left disappointed by the lack of diversity and originality. Thankfully there are other establishments locally and further afield that offer what Fairport Brewing Company lacks. More concerning than their menu is the management and limited social accountability displayed by this organization. If you're looking for an enjoyable albeit simple beer, you might enjoy Fairport Brewing Company. If you're looking to support local businesses that align themselves with urgent social causes and desire to uplift marginalized populations, I implore you to look elsewhere.
It's a nice spot but of all 6 beers on tap not one that Fairport brewery makes. This is really the most disappointing brewery I have been to in the Rochester area. I have never been to a brewery that doesn't have there own beers on tap, majority of the beers where three heads, I could have saved the drive and gone to three heads and had the same thing.
The last couple times I’ve been there it just seems like the beers line are dirty. Most of the beers have a cleaner taste or a moldy grass taste and aftertaste. Bummer for such a great vibe and location and Super friendly staff.
Meh... the environment is alright. The beers are nothing to write home about. They were out of the one beer I wanted to try. Kind of got feeling like I wasn't appreciate because I didn't have my collar popped. I recommend 3 heads, trip hammer, or Roc brewing first.
Beer is terrible. Location is great. Good music. If you’re more about the location and love mediocre at best beer then this place is for you.
Kicked out of brewery 1/2 hour early b/c bartender had other plans. On the other hand, enjoyed the evening with the homeless lady they invited in. Left generous tip.
Location and setup is great, but the beer is terrible and has been terrible for a long time. Tried the Fluffy NEIPA and Blonde Ale and both tasted weirdly flat with a slight chemical taste. Wish another brewery would take over this spot because it's such a good location. Also only one tiny bathroom for a place that holds a lot of people. So many other good places in Fairport make this a pass. June 2023 update: tried it again at canal days and once again the beer is undrinkable. Got one from outside beer truck, and it was barely cold. Went inside to get a lager and it was cold but had a weird chemical taste. I very rarely dump a beer but I pitched it and went somewhere else.
