Opinions de Mulconry's Irish Pub Fairport
I love the salad with blueberries and goat cheese and the cider on tap. The setting is charming, especially in winter when they've lit the fire. Service is sometimes a tad slow, but that leaves more time for conversation. They seem to be working on preventing wasps from visiting the upper deck. We like sitting there anyway, because of the view of the canal. Parking is usually available across the street.
Great Pub / Tavern food. Five onion soup is delicious.
Great food, amazing service, friendly crowd!
Classic Irish bar. Sat a bar table so just had to go up to order. Good but limited draft selection, well priced as well.
I recently attended an engagement party at this venue. It was great. The food was delicious the venue was perfect for the occasion. I would definitely recommend this place.
We stopped in prior to a boat cruise and were short on time. Our server Hylee made sure our food was served quickly and boxed what we could not consume there. The poutine was TO DIE FOR and the beer battered chicken tenders were amazing ! We are sure to be back and will bring friends !
This is a pretty happening place, at least on a Saturday night in Fairport NY. The food was really good, not super cheap but what is anymore. 18 bones for a burger platter. But like I said it was excellent. By the end of dinner time the bar was filling up with lots of the younger crowd having a good time. Also the live music artist was fantastic. No problem recommending this place for a night out 👍
OMG what an awesome mistake this was! We were in the area to try a different restaurant but ended up here. And I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere and service was wonderful. Taylor was our server and she was quick and very helpful. We started with the poutine (w/ tots based on Taylors recommendation.) So good. A huge portion not at all skimpy on the meat! For dinner I got the Iron Smoke Whiskey Brisket sandwich. I may have found my new favorite. The HOMEMADE pickles as the garnish put it right over the top! Wife got the 3 Little Pigs Mac and Cheese which was a huge portion and fantastic. To think, I would have never given this place a shot if it weren't for me not being able to get a table someplace else, and now Im hooked! 10 out of 10!
Best beer cheese around! Every meal we've had here has been enjoyable and staff is usually friendly and accommodating.
I just went with a party of 6 on a Monday at 6 pm, and there were no complaints from anyone. Everyone's meal was fantastic. Beer was great. I had the Black and Tan with corned beef and cabbage. That was excellent! Best I had in a long time! Mashed potatoes are so good! Waitress was very nice. Been here many times before, and have always been happy with service and food.
Excellent service and staff. The food was delicious, and ready in minutes. I’ve gone here several times and ordered many different dishes, each one being unique and flavorful in its own way. (The music is great as well!) I love this restaurant and I definitely recommend dining here.
Had lunch hear last week. I had the buffalo chicken salad and the wife had a veggie burger. The salad was very good, plenty of greens and chicken. I did enjoy the buffalo sauce, not too hot for a salad. My wife really enjoyed her veggie burger and the fries were awesome. Big ole steak fries with great flavor. I would go back just for the fries. The service was very friendly and on top of things. The place looked clean and inviting. We ate inside but the outside area looked very nice, just a bit too sunny for us though.
Walked in and got seated right away. The staff was fast and friendly. I ate like a pig. My wife thought her fish fry was excellent. Walked out jammed. Barely had enough room ice cream. I highly recommend this joint.
They have some great food, large portions, and it's not too expensive. The people were so kind and willing to fill up our water bottles (we were biking the erie canal). Great place, would recommend full heartedly.
We had an incredible experience today at Mulconry’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, and it was all thanks to our amazing waitress, Dottie! Her exceptional service, warm personality, and unmatched attention to detail truly made our visit unforgettable. From start to finish, Dottie made sure we were well taken care of and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely committed to great hospitality—management, please take note of the wonderful work she’s doing! We will absolutely be back and will always ask to sit in Dottie’s section. If you want the best service at Mulconry’s, do yourself a favor and ask for Dottie. She’s a gem!
First time here...Loved the place! Great food, drink, and service!
Stopped in today for Father's Day dinner. Had the bangers & mash and a nice cold Guinness draft!! Also had some Irish Poutine!! Everything was excellent and our waitress was very friendly and efficient!! Will certainly add this place to our list of places to eat when we are in the Fairport area.
The food is always delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is fun and lively.
I absolutely adore this place, great vibe! This is the closest to an Irish pub experience I’ve had in the states. The menu options are amazing and the Guinness was poured absolutely perfect. Sláinte to the staff and the owner, I will definitely be going back.
Wonderful food and service! I would highly recommend this place!
A typical Irish pub atmosphere with "Irish influenced " pub fare. Excellent food and service.
Bartender Danielle she had dirty blonde hair , i believe her name was so awesome . She took care of us the whole night with drinks, very nice and friendly . We definitely will be back to see her and the atmosphere was amazing!
Popular town pub known for consistently good food, lively bar, and attentive service. The fish fry sandwich was awesome!
I go to Mulconry's about once a week. Food and service is excellent! The fish and chips is the best I have ever had and they have a lot of great salad options! Excellent live music and vibes every week!!
Went here during Canal Days, the outside seating area was great and the Irish Poutine was out of this world. We had a brief wait but it was no issue we walked around the festival and they called us when the table was ready, which was much quicker than the time they said. Our waitress was kind and checked in with us multiple times. It was my first visit and definitely won't be my last.
Service was amazing!! We loved our server Bella; she was so so sweet and lovely! The hostess was also amazing. We asked to be seated outside and she had us sitting on the upstairs balcony which was exactly what we wanted. Overall we had such an amazing experience!
Damian Mulconry is a SUPER rockstar landlord (pub owner). Everything about the place is a little bit of Ireland. The bartenders and regulars alike are one big happy family. Delicious food! Fabulous service. Great beer/wine/liquor selections! *Tidbit of celebrity gossip: Jimmy Fallon loves to spend time at Mulconry's whenever he's in Rochester.
Wish they had lunch size portions, I had the Sheppard's pie and it is so good but it is a lot!!
Great Irish pub and restaurant near the canal. The service was great. Traditional Irish and pub options on the menu. The Fish Fry looked fantastic and was booming when we went, but was already sold out! The waitress was great and suggested other options which were delicious as well. Their standard Fish and chips were perfectly battered and fried, the "French style" egg washed pan fried fish was a great lower carb alternative. The onion rings were perfectly cooked and crispy! The Guinness pints were cold and delicious 😁
Love stopping here after the gym for lunch. High quality food, large food portions and the owner is great
Mulconry’s is highlight in a town full of highlights. The food is consistently delicious. The staff is friendly, professional, and will quickly make any patron feel like a regular. The atmosphere is always fun, they have great live music on select nights, and their seating options (dining, bar, or outdoor) are excellent for whatever you’re looking for. Something that makes Mulconry’s stand out from the rest is their menu, which is unlike any other in Fairport. Yes, you can expect standard bar/grill/pub food, but with authentic Irish twists and flavors you won’t find elsewhere - there’s nothing “cookie-cutter” about their food. Their shepherd’s pie is ridiculously good, and their fish and chips (not fish fry) should never be skipped. The owner is hands-on, frequently onsite, and it reflects in the quality of the experiences I’ve had. I would (and do) recommend this place to all.
Visit a store in the area and decided to try a restaurant next door, and though there were people inside with a lit open sign, the doors were locked. Decided to wander around for something else and found Mulconry's and popped in at 1pm on a Friday. Was sat very quickly, and food was very fast as well. Serving sizes were huge, I've got some steak and mushroom boxty leftover for lunch today, and my mother probably has enough Irish poutine to last her the weekend. Our server Claire was great, and even let us know about the music fest going on Friday/Saturday. It is definitely a restaurant/pub and at one time the entire bar counter was singing a song along with the radio. Definitely starred on Google maps for future visits.
Always a go to place for us! Great food & drinks, fun atmosphere & friendly staff!
As an Irish man I can tell you this place is amazing. Beautiful building , great food, great atmosphere, great price point, staff were great. We will be back. Thanks guys and girls
What a great stop to visit… the service and food top notch !!! Fish fry is amazing… I got the open face burger with the most delicious mashed potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life… The burger was awesome Quality as well, but those mashed potatoes melted my heart… Jimmy Fallon as a real good friend over there that’s for sure !!! It’s a must stop if you are in Fairport !!!
We went for cocktails and stayed for dinner. So glad we did the shepherds pie and Ruben were outstanding! Best place to open in Greece in years! Looking forward to many family gatherings there! The atmosphere was on spot!
Thank you Peter & Damien for bringing your Irish roots to Greece. The service(Kira, Ashley, T.T.)has been spectacular for a new establishment in their first few weeks opening. Bar service phenomenal from Lyndsey, Alexis, Daniel & Eric!!!! The food that their kitchen chef Jason puts out will make your mouth water plus the portions are worth it. Highly recommend the Irishman burger, beer battered boneless, The Mulconry's burger, very filling. Thank you gentlemen & the whole Mulconry's team.
Food was great, bar staff is very attentive and the atmosphere is lively. Can't wait until the spring and summer comes and you can sit outside. Great spot.
Stopped at new Greece Location on Saturday 1/24. Very busy.Guinness, of course!! Food was excellent. So happy to see good Irish establishment in Greece. Will definitely be back😊
Great original and authentic food. The nicest people you'll ever come by working. Top notch spot
The rood is amazing! Rich flavor, big portions, good prices. Nice decor and ambience. We got the shepherds pie boxty-wow! And the boneless wings, which are huge and delicious! And they do a Guinness right! Definitely a nice hang out spot.
Congratulations to the new Greece location! The staff, food, management and atmosphere are all fantastic! The Irish onion soup is amazing! We are definitely coming back!
Great place to watch the game and a super friendly atmosphere. Want a proper half'n'half? They have Guinness and Harp on tap! Food quality way above normal pub fare - I had the fish and chips which was amazing, portion was plenty to share. I'll be back!
We just came from a recent trip to Ireland so we had to stop in. We did not eat here, just had a pint of Guinness on a quick stop riding our bikes. Our first time exploring Fairport landing, it's a nice area. Inside was clean, friendly bartender from Ireland , a server checked in on us a couple of times, nice outdoor area in front. I plan on coming back to try the food another day.
Went here with my wife and our youngest child after visiting the local book store, it was an absolutely beautiful day so we had lunch out side. We just relocated here from the south so it was very refreshing to be able to have a meal outside during this time of year and with such a lovely view of the docked boats. The service was wonderful, our server was very attentive and kept our waters filled. We both had a Guinness with our meals, I have the bangers and mash and my wife had beef and cheddar, both entrees were perfect. We will absolutely be coming back.
Stopped after an event at a nearby location. It was the day after Christmas. Was surprised I’d never heard of this place as I love a good Irish pub. The menu was very limited. However, was pleasantly surprised with the good pub fare. My entire group said their food was excellent. A must stop if you’re in Fairport.
Great food. We loved everything. The appetizers were tiny for the price. Service started ok but went down hill quick. We were essentially ignored no drink refills no one asked if we needed anything unless we stopped them.
It's ok. I've lived in Ireland 7 years and it's not quite the same. The Guinness stew was good, but salty and didn't come with much soda bread. The portion was generous. My friends enjoyed the fish and chips. It could be great with a little work, so I deducted a star.
Good outdoor seating. Nice beer selection. Food is decent. I have had it though, with the "surcharge", aka as "non-cash fee". And if you choose one of the tip percentage buttons on the device the servers use if will include this surcharge and the tax. So be sure to figure out what you want to leave and choose "other amount". Update, 5/19: Went for dinner last night. Sat on the upstairs deck. All good. Service was slow but it was not for lack of effort on our server's part. There was a birthday party going on and it was hectic. And... wait for it... no "convenience fee". Yay!
The people here are always fun. When I go, I almost always end up making friends at the bar. They have fun bands on the weekends, and a great trivia night on Wednesdays. There is outdoor seating for when it's warm. This bar has a lot going for it. There are a few areas that could use improvement. Several times I have had trouble getting another drink or asking for my check because the bartenders were on their phones or just socializing with other staff members or regulars. And the food is fine. It's decent general pub fare, but is nothing to write home about and certainly not the main draw of the place. They should do a proper Sunday brunch. No one in Fairport does one, and Mulconry's is set up perfect for it. Seems like a missed opportunity. Lastly, they often seem to empty out and close down kind of early. That's unfortunately kind of par for the course in Fairport though. Overall though, the cons are small and the pros are big. At the end of the day, you want to have fun when going to a bar. This place consistently delivers that. Fun music, fun games, fun people!
Had lunch on the outdoor patio. Weather was perfect that afternoon. Food was good and the server brought the food fast but the server kept trying to take my plate away while I was still eating 3 times. She was still nice to us but after the first time I thought she'd be more patient.
We had an early dinner to avoid the crowds. The atmosphere was a typical pub style. The food was delicious and too much to finish..
The special of the day (5 alarm burger) was fantastic. Great pickles, good tots. Good portion. I dined alone outside mid-day. The waitress checked on me 3 or 4 times. I'd give 5 stars across the board, but I'm still trying to get used to having to pay $20 for a burger these days....
Had the chicken curry. The food was very tasty, although the description called for crispy chips, I had a plate full of fries and very little chicken. I heard one of the servers say it didn’t look like it usually does. The service was attentive and the drinks were good. Would have preferred to get an itemized bill at the end of the visit. We had no way of checking what we were paying for.
Food was delicious. Service was fabulous. Only issue was very weak well drinks. Used 7 up as mixer and could barely see a change in color and with whiskey that's odd.
Great cozy place near the canal. Parking is always easy and free. Was there for Music and Beer. Good Selection. Staff was fast. When the group was playing the area can get filled up quickly making it feel like a can of sardines. Telnds to be a 50+ age group in there. Fun time. Would definitely go again.
Great restaurant/bar. One observation though, upon entering the establishment there were several tables empty and we were told it would be 40 minutes before we got a table because the kitchen was backed up. This we understand, but we will willing to spend money over the bar while we were waiting for food, but were told we couldn't sit at a high top table? Last time I was at a bar, alcohol paid the bills. We had a great time other than that.
Had dinner there on Wednesday (2021.07.28) about 5:30pm. There were many people sitting outside on both floors. We opted to be inside as it was kind of hot for my mom (93 years old, she gets what she wants). Service was slow. Seems like they were under-staffed. Under-staffed seems to be a theme for restaurants as they struggle to get operations running with the waning pandemic. The food was slow coming out, but hot. The food was delivered by a different server which was ok by me. I like it when the people are looking out for each other by looking out for the guests. Guess it was the kitchen that was holding things up a bit. The food was good. I had a garden salad with Grilled Buffalo Chicken. Mom had the Beer Battered Chicken Fingers. There were a lot of those fingers so Mom took some home. The restaurant is noisy. The sound echoes from the hardwood floors and walls. It is probably ok for younger people with acute hearing- less good for us harder-of-hearing oldsters.
Service was great, plenty of parking in the lot across the street and cute inside. They also had covered outdoor seating. Would be a great place to go hang out and have some Guinness; we just didn't find the food to be anything special. It was fine. They do have GF rolls which was appreciated.
We dined at the new location in Elm Ridge Center. The food was excellent. I had Shepherds Pie which was very good except for a few hard peas. The others in my party had sandwiches and they said they were very good. Service was very slow. It took about 45 minutes to get our order. The tables are on top of each other and the acoustics are terrible. The volume of everyone talking is very loud and you can’t hear each other talking unless you shout. For that reason, don’t think I will be back.
Never had french sauce that taste like maple syrup. For me personally way to sweet. It's hit or miss. Last time was great, this time I was not impressed at all for a $90 bill. It really through me off with the French sauce, didn't go well at all with chicken. My husband mash potatoes were really good though.
Food was delicious as it always is. The atmosphere is lovely. The only problem was the service. After being seated we waited 10 minutes for water. After we ordered our food (a burger, salad, and 2 soups) took almost 45 minutes to come out. As much as I love the food this made me consider not coming back.
Went for much with my daughter and her baby. Waited over an hour to get our food. By the time food came baby was getting fussy. Soup did not come out first it came out with the meal. The meal was cold. While the clam chowder was hot it was disgustingly over seasoned. We did not eat more than one bite. Waitress did not care. Hostess was not helpful when we tried to pay bill up front rather than wait another long time for waitress. Will not be back for food.
We had dinner here today 12/21/21 and the atmosphere was great as were the drinks, but the food was mediocre at best. We had the pretzel appetizer with mustard and cheese dipping sauces. The cheese sauce was wonderful but the pretzel’s were meh. My husband got the steak special and it was barely warm. I got boneless chicken wings and they were so hard and dry, they were inedible. They offered to redo the order, but I couldn’t see how things could get any better so we passed on that. I never like to dog a local restaurant, but they have some work to do. We love Donnelly’s but unfortunately they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays. With a few tweaks and attention to detail, they could be a great restaurant. The location is great!
This place just disappoints every time. What is up with restaurants lately? They charge way too much money for food that is beyond subpar with no care in making something good. Spent $38 on a horrible black bean burger that was just mush and not a patty at all. The motz app was small for the price and I was charged $2.50 extra for having my 90+% margarita mix, which i think had a splash of tequilla, drink on the rocks...what the what. So that's a new overcharge places are doing now I guess. $2.50 for ice cubes made of water, not tequila. Just not a fan after tonight. Last time I came here, we got take out that had mushy cold fries and a salad that was super small in it's fixings. Also paid way to much money for something neither me or my friend wanted to eat. That went in the trash too. I definitely will not be returning. Tried to give it another chance, but it failed to impress yet again. The only thing it has going for it is the location and cute upstairs patio, but that is not worth the price I keep wasting.
Ordered corned beef and cabbage on 3/16/25. My wife had shepherds pie which was very good. Corned beef had a lot of fat. I could not taste the corned beef without getting the fat. It was a very large portion but with all the fat I only ate 1/4 of what I received. I don't know if this is traditional corned beef but it was not what I've been served at other places or experienced cooking at home.
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great everything, except for one bartender. Every time I come, as a person that worked in the service industry, I try to be as mindful of the people working because I know how hard it can be; but the bartender with the shaved sides of her head, not sure her name, but every time I’ve gone, she’s been so incredibly rude. I thought it was because my group was big and noisy the first time so I didn’t say anything, but then I came with a small group and she could not have been worse. I understand how bad drunk people can be, but damn! I was doing my best to be respectful, even after she was being rude, and she continued. All this to say, cool bar, great vibes, but one rude bartender; not sure what she has against everyone. Still go here, but if the bartender is reading this, I don’t think you should be fired, you’re good at your job, but no need to hate on every young person that enters. A moment of introspection.
Very disappointed in the food. My veal meatloaf was pretty good, but I ordered onions rings and both the original order and the replacement order were over cooked. The fries were warm. And the Buffalo Mac & cheese was not much better than Kraft. We used to enjoy it, but this visit and our previous one, not so much. I was also disappointed with the service. I would have liked to have finished the appetizer before our dinners were served.
Went last Saturday night to celebrate a birthday with friends. The majority of the group went upstairs and a few headed to the bar to get a round for everyone. The blonde bartender appeared to be angry with us for existing before we even ordered. She rudely raised her voice at us to let us know that she wouldn't serve us until everyone from upstairs showed their IDs. This request is understandable, but when we said that we'd get them from upstairs she started swearing at us and talking to us like we were children. This bartender treated us horribly and it is not a good look to yell at customers before they even get the chance to order. Maybe instead of being so aggressive towards customers for trying to order a beer at a bar, look into hiring a bouncer to get IDs checked at the door. This was the worst service I've ever had in Rochester. I've had plenty of interactions at other bars in scenarios like this that were respectful and normal.. this was unacceptable and frankly embarrassing.
Worst service I’ve ever had. All 4 meals were brought out incorrectly. Burger was ordered with a gluten free bun and came out with a normal bun. The waitress then made us feel bad and that it was our fault. Another worker came out to apologize and told us they would take the burger off the bill. They proceeded to charge us for the burger. I highly recommend not eating at this establishment.
Tried this place for the first time. Never was even seated. Placed our name on the list and was told 30 minutes. Then 30 minutes later went to check and they never put us on the list. 30 minutes later was told we would be next but guess what....was not the next seated. Poor customer service at the hostess booth
We ordered food and a beer. It never came. We left after 45 minutes. Staff not trained and very overwhelmed, but the place was 1/3 filled. Seemed very mismanaged for an Irish Pub that has bands and has been in business for years. Manager not helpful. Disappointing. Update... Went back 2-3 months later. Worst Tanq and tonic I've had in quite some time. Same bartender who doesn't know what they are doing. Requested "short" drink... no clue. Tanq was either watered down or drink was tonic only. Same lame, different day. Golf shirts, guts, and "Jack Fire" shots. Go somewhere else with a real bartender and real drinks.
Cannot comment on food because we were never served. Arrived for lunch to a mostly empty restaurant and were seated in dining room on restaurant side of hostess stand. On the other side of pub is bar and what appeared to be regulars and most of wait staff all mingling amicably. We were seated, given menus and forgotten. No one ever came around from the other side to so much as take our drink order. A server did breeze by to take an order from a neighboring table at one point but disappeared in a flash. After about 10 minutes, we left, went 2 doors down to another place and received prompt service and a great meal. Incidentally this is the 2nd time the exact same scenario has played out. I’m from out of state and figured I give the place another try coming back to my hometown since I’ve heard great things about it, but nunca mas! Never again.
Asked the bartender for a quick question and he said “i don’t answer questions” and walked away after giving me the bill. Was going to ask for the music to be turned up on Halloween night . As a bartender i know that you always tend to your customers, especially a sober person just asking a question. I’ve been before and have had good experiences, but the man with the grey beard is bitter and rude, at least tonight.
The manager bartender has a 2nd grade reading level. Unable to read a drivers license accurately and denied a 26 year old (who has been at the bar multiple times before). Not sure how the owner makes any money. Brought in a group 35 people after a wedding and they didn’t want our money as they denied the 26year old bride any service. Very impressive how they stay open with someone who is unable to do their job properly.
We used to love it here but the service and food has definitely gone down hill. 75 bucks with 5 orders of beer battered chicken fingers. That's always been my go too for amazing fingers when we go to Fairport. Last time we got 3 orders and there was absolutely no dipping sauce or blue cheese nothing just the fingers, so disappointed as the sauce with the handmade fingers are delicious and why we love them. Thursday I ordered 2 orders to go and I get home and there burnt so bad. As a courtesy I called them to let them know there having a issue with the best thing they serve, I first girl claiming to be the manger hung up. I called back ask for the manager again and got probably the same girl and told her why I was calling. We got no where as all she was saying is the other girl is sorry and she very sweet. She also told me there phone is broken and the manager is getting rid of it. Not a good idea as some people want to call for reservations and take out. We got now where with our conversation and she said I could drive back and get my money back, I explained that it's an hour each way, she then said well next time you in tell someone your story and see if they will do something for you. Hmmmmmmmmmm! That's why I called spoke with you the Manager. Then she said sorry ten times its a Saturday and hung up on me. Never asked my name or number to return my call if they are that busy nor did she get that I'm not driving 2 hours there and back for my money when I used my card and gave her the day and time of transaction. So if they don't care, I don't care that I'm making this review. Here's our burnt fingers and thank you for caring about your customers.. this is no longer my favorite place to eat in Fairport. Shane on them for bad food and the lack of effort to help a unsatisfied customer that went out of there way not to give them a bad review.
