I love this place. I love how many sides are given. It’s a little pricey. It really depends on what you get. Would come again.

All the ahjummas (I say this with respect!) were very wonderful as they were smiling and took great care of us. The food was delicious! Hands down the best soondubu I’ve ever had 🙌 We went on a weekday holiday and the place was filled! Will definitely visit again!

It was my first time going and I got the Kimchi Jjigae. Absolutely delicious, and I will definitely be coming back to try more!

REALLY good Korean food in a neighborhood full of choices. I have had better bulgogi dolsot elsewhere (flavor and not so watery), but they do have some pretty solid choices overall. A little pricey.

One of best Korean BBQ restaurant. I don't smell like BBQ afterward. Good service and food was delicious. A picture is worth 1000 words...

Hahm Ji Bach…24 hrs of Korean BBQ! If I had known about this place when I was taking data structures, my all nighters would have looked totally different. I’d recommend coming here on a weekday, rather than a weekend, as it is significantly less packed. However, the food is well worth the wait. Everything here is good, but I generally get the pork belly and kimchi soup, topped off with a blue moon. The service is exceptional as well, and the staff is willing to kindly explain all the side dishes to those who are unfamiliar with Korean food…it can be overwhelming at times. The bad thing I have to say about this place is it’s a tad on the expensive side. But hey, such a place is perfect for a special occasion.

This place has great selection of Korean food. The fish here is fresh and tasty. Also the pork stew is very flavorful.

I love this place! My girlfriend and I come here all the time. Recommend to get the galbitang. Really good banchan and a large selection!

When the service is bad, YOU KNOW the food is going to put you in a COMA because it's so good. The food is amazing but our server was not as great as the food. Order the wild rice and the seafood pancake!

If you are in this area please stop by if you like amazing serving and food with a cinnamon tee on the end! I be back. I got the very high recommend from the best Kimchi producers. Thank you 🙏

Our party of eight (four couples) came in for dinner after a nerve-wracking search for parking which finally ended with using a "valet" that may or may not have been associated with this restaurant. The restaurant space was no frills and had a modern feel. Occasionally a robot came by which was entertaining. For six of us this was our first Korean dining experience. Our server did her best to help us navigate the food options. Everything was delicious which was a relief because clearly, we were out of our comfort zone. We enjoyed this experience. The happy ending: the "valet" brought both cars back.

The food and the service are very good. The pork belly and LA Galbi were really delicious. Even though you are currently dining outside, they have done a good job of making the outdoor seating cool and comfortable. I look forward to visiting again.

This is my fav Korean BBQ spot in NYC. I have been here at least 6-7 times. Came here tonight around 8 with a group of 5 and only had to wait about 25 minutes for our table. We had pork belly (my fave wrapped in radish with scallion), kalbi, skirt steak, bulgogi, and kimchi jigae. Also scallion pancake and mandoo. The banchan are soooooo good and love the egg custard. The staff is extremely hard working and efficient. They are quite busy keeping the place running but still maintain a positive attitude. Can’t wait to come back!

R

Love the amount of banchan. Another party was celebrating their birthday and they dimmed all the lights, played music, brought out a cake (personal) and added a sparker candle! ♥️

M

The service was amazing! Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. They also gave an incredible amount of ban chan. I really liked the S-16, galbi, as I ate it so fast I didn't have time to take a picture!

Great choices of traditional Korean cuisine. Tables and overall atmosphere make for a great experience as main orders are prepared and served from table’s cooktop center. Dim Sum serving style for appetizers and deserts make for a fantastic experience from beginning to end of the meal. Staff is always friendly and welcoming!

Yup! I loved the beef tofu stew and seafood pancake. The selection of bonchon/tasters was delicious. There was no skimping on the seafood pancake. The tofu stew had an egg inside and just tasted amazing 😍.

So I've heard about the place many times online and I've always wanted to check it out, so I went with me and 2 other people, this was during Christmas eve and they seated us right away, service was fast and attentive, they offered us hot tea with free refills, a variety of small side dishes like kimchi, sprouts, pickled radish, and others I don't know the names of, the meat came out quick and the portion size I beleived was good for 3 people. I ordered the pork belly which was great, ribeye which I thought was also pretty good, spicy pork soup, my friend ordered the soybean paste soup, and a steamed egg, my only minor complaint is the beer selection was slightly small.the bathrooms were clean and they thoroughly wiped down Tables between patrons dining, it was a little on the pricey side for 3 people came to about 150 but I would definitely recommend the place as a date destination or somewhere to bring some friends for dinner. 100% should check it out

Great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Very attentive and eager to explain to you what's going on, what's the popular dishes, how to eat certain things, I had a great time... would go back again. Got the thick cut pork belly Korean BBQ and Bulgogi, it was absolutely delicious!

Best Korean food in town. Waitresses were lovely - they chatted with us, gave us free beer and Champaign once they know it’s a birthday celebration, attentive and quick! Even the lady boss came around to say hi to the tables. Food was good portion, lots of free sides, no problems when asking for additional sides. Definitely recommend!

This is one of our favorite Korean places to go to. They always give so much of the small dishes. We always order thick pork belly and galbi and a mackerel, at the end of the meal we are extremely full

Love how this place has a full table of side dishes! Friendly staff here too. Their meat quality here is awesome. I ordered the beef briskets, la galbi and pork belly. You must try their thick pork belly - super delicious and they cook it to perfection (not overcooked like how other places do it). I heard they also have a downstairs that can fit 100 ppl? And that you can rent it out for company parties!

The food is great! Portions are big and are meant to be shared. I ordered the small Korean Army soup ($31). It's big enough to feed four hungry people. They also provide a vast selection of free appetizers and free rice to go with your soup.

This is a traditional Korean restaurant and it’s been there around a decade. They have various dishes from BBQ to pot strews. Their stir fry spicy squid is the best I ever tasted in Korean style. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I recommend this place if you want to hangout with few friends or families.

Summary: With respect to Korean cuisine, Hahm Ji Bach serves as the gold standard in NYC. All menu items are unapologetic in their bold flavors and authenticity. All ingredients, especially the cuts of meat for BBQ, are fresh and of the highest quality. Patrons can experience all the flavors of Korea without actually being in Korea. Must Try: Marinated beef short ribs, LA Kalbi, and Bulgogi. Also recommended: All menu stews and soups are excellent. Avoid: N/A ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Outstanding, worth a special excursion

Really good quality food, the best quality Korean bbq I’ve had in my entire life. In comparison to Gyu-kaku, Kang ho dong Baekjong, Gopchang, and others. However, would recommend you to go earlier in the day, because they are incredibly shortstaffed after 9pm! 1 waitress handling 6 tables (3 with 8ppl). She was nice but facing an unfair challenge! Be prepared to turn the meat yourself. Highly recommend the fresh beef short rib! And the thick pork belly!

It was 2AM. My wife and I just woke up after passing out from drinking all afternoon at a BBQ. Having skipped dinner, we were hungry, and we were treated like royalty at Hahm Ji Bach. We got our usual: pork belly and beef tongue bbq to start, a plate of galbi and a seafood pancake while we wait for our large bowl of beef intestine soup to cook. Although there are many other Korean restaurants in Flushing, we always seem to find ourselves at Hahm Ji Bach. Their food just suits our Taiwanese-American taste buds. The service is very friendly (discrimination against non-Korean speakers is quite low, unlike a lot of other Korean places) and the decor is open and airy with a hint of higher class Korean (compared to a homely hole-in-the-wall feel).

Found this place on Google and Yelp and decided to bring my family as we're not familiar with the neighborhood(Murray Hill). Glad it turned out as a great choice. We went for early dinner before 6pm and this place was packed (indoor) by 7pm. Their food was pretty tasty with good portions. We ordered Dolsot Spicy Squid (not the best I've had), Sul Lang Tang, Pickled radish stew w. Blood sausages and pig's ears and their summer Ssam platter w. Spicy pork belly. Loved their individualized banchan and highly recommends the last two dishes. My family also enjoyed tasting the traditional Korean wine sample(5 assortments). They were thoughtful to bring us extra glasses to share among us. This is a landmark restaurant and frequented by Koreans and locals. Do check this out if you're in the area!

Great bibimbap and yukaejjang. Very big portions and well worth the money. Hard-to-beat Korean food in all of NYC! A nearby table also had a birthday party, and they turned off the lights and had a very cute celebration where the whole restaurant clapped and cheered. Amazing ambience, highly recommend!

I became a regular customer, literally, I eat here twice a week at least. Food is delicious. They offer you non-stop sides. Sundays they are closed and the rest of the week, they are open 24h. I like the service better after 10 pm (night time shift), staff is more attentive.

This korean restaurant was absolutely spectacular, they showed us amazing hospitality at 6 Am in the morning! Every time we finished our vegetables and meat, they gave us another plate immediately. The more enthusiastic you are about their food the more energy you recieve, and my server was absolutely killing it. The meat is marinated very well and the meat comes off super juicy after taking a bite. Love that its 24/7

A few blocks off Northern blvd, but so worth the visit. The name has a meaning of giving a generous portion so expect a slightly larger amount of food all for mostly ~$20 per person. You literally can share an order of food that's for one person. Side dishes are plentiful, a lot of stews, all mostly spicy, service is good and can get crowed, place is clean and decor is modern. Will visit again.

Haven't been here in a couple of years. Always remembered this place as a good grilled pork belly spot. ordered pork belly and did not regret. Their side dishes are also surprisingly really good. All fresh and seasoned well. Pork belly portions were generous and was good quality.

Been coming here since I was a kid. Authentic korean restaurant with all the dishes you can think of and bbq if you like. The only thing that was a letdown was their rule when ordering bbq. Minimum is two orders of meat. I never knew about this rule because we usually go with larger groups and order a lot. It was only me and my girl this time and we both wanted our own main dish with a little bbq meat but unfortunately had to go without the bbq this time. No fuss. We ordered a seafood pancake for appetizer and seafood soon dooboo and dolsot bibimbap for our main dishes. Came out to about $60 before tip so very affordable as always. Place used to be 24 hours but I see they've cut their hours to midnight. Anyways. Always a good place to go for a guaranteed good time. Come early or book a reservation otherwise there will be a wait. During peak times on the weekends, you might be waiting awhile. They coned off two metered spots for customers so it was nice to pull up and park right in front.

The galbi jjim set is delicious. As someone who has tried many Korean restaurants from Stony Brook all the way to Canada, I can say that this place as the best food and even the banchan that comes with the meal. I would not recommend the egg tho, they cook it too long so it becomes super bitter and the liquid and egg would bitter and like metallic? I left is mainly uneaten but the middle. I’ve been here at least 5 times lol and the first time the egg was perfect and the next 2 was bad so I was scared to order the egg the last time I went which was sad cu beef and eggs be my favorite things. It’s a booth style place so you will hear and see others, I like it like that but some people might not. Service is good, although it’s mainly just serving the food and they leave you alone for the most part so an introverts dream~

This was one of my favorite Korean restaurants 10 years ago when I lived in the area. My grandfather used to always say that this restaurant reminded him of his hometown. Came back yesterday and it did not disappoint. Extremely friendly staff and the flavors are so authentic. My wife was so impressed and we had such a great experience. I highly recommend this place 🙂 For the folks complaining that you need to order at least two meats - it's because it takes extra effort for a waiter to serve, clean the grill, and bring out the banchans. Absolutely worth it though.

I tried the Yangnyeom Galbi today, and it was absolutely amazing! 😋 The meat was thick, tender, and perfectly marinated — every bite was full of rich, savory-sweet flavor. The balance between sweetness and saltiness was spot-on, and the smoky charcoal aroma made it even better. There was no gamey smell at all, and it paired perfectly with a bowl of rice 🍚🔥 The portion size was generous, and the staff even helped grill the meat, so it was super easy to enjoy. Overall, a 10/10 experience — I’d definitely come back again with friends!

Sooooo good! Steak and Shrimp with seafood pancake 💚 the Banchan are excellent (love the peanuts especially) and the attention of service is Michelin worthy. There’s a reason Hahm Ji Bach is open 24 hours a day and always packed - it is soooo good! #queensnyc #koreanfood #nycfood #nycrestaurants

Stumbled upon a real gem. High-quality meat is definitely a major win in my book, it can make or break a dish. Also, a LOAD of side dish is nice, it means the meal is complete.

I took my mom here and she absolutely loved it! The food was fresh, came out quickly, and they offer so many delicious side dishes. A big plus is that some of the staff speak Chinese, which made ordering really easy for my mom. My personal favorite was the potato jjeong. The restaurant can get a little loud, but it adds to the warm and lively vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Korean food(or want a lot of side dishes).

Never disappointed. We usually ate Korean soup or regular Korean meal(main dishes, side dishes with rice and soup) there for the past 10 years. This time tried Korean BBQ for the first time there. We ate rib eye and marinated short rib. Both were tender and tasty. Marinated short rib wasn’t salty nor too sweet. It was just perfectly marinated. Moolnaengmyun(cold noodles) was also very good. Fresh noodles’s texture was perfect and broth wasn’t too vinegary nor sweet. It was perfectly good. Our server was very professional and friendly. Dessert drink, soojunggwa(cinnamon beverage) was great after full meal. Satisfied!!

I was quite hungry at night and was recommended to me to try this place out. The place operates twenty four hours daily, the only con was that it’s not AYCE (All you can eat), but the prices are pretty fair. They have many options to choose from like soup, traditional Korean dishes, stir frys, meat for Korean barbecue, etc. Was seated immediately since it was pretty empty. The service was good, the staffs cook for you so all you have to do is to enjoy. The meat was freshly sliced and cooks instantly. I recommend this place to any Korean barbecue lovers or just looking for a late night spot to grub. Definitely will be back!

Great quality beef and great side dishes. We also ordered seafood stew hotpot and it was really good. Service are friendly and efficient. Large seating booth. Great for groups and great to bring family together. Their side dishes are a stand out compares to others in the area. My favorite side dishes are the pumpkin salad and round cut radish. Their steamed egg is also great.

Delicious traditional Korean food. When you walk in, you see all the awards, so you know they are Dong something right(even though I can't read any of them...could just be taekwondo trophies so don't piss them off). The waiters are super friendly and quick. I started off with the japchae and seafood pancake. The japchae was surprisingly good especially with the beef and veggies. The seafood pancake is probably my favorite pancake I've had in a long time. It's got a good chew with a nice crunch in the outside. For my main, I ordered the LA galbi with cold noodles, no complaints. I tried some of my girlfriends bibimbap and I thought it could've used some more crunch on the rice so maybe our stone pot wasn't hot enough but it wasn't bad. Good stuff if you're in the neighborhood but the wait can get a little long so I would advise coming before 7pm or be ready to wait 30-60 mins.

We were starving when we got here and were so glad that we were nearly immediately seated on a Friday night. I think we just arrived at a perfect time because we ended up with the only table that became available and was being cleaned. Anyway, ban chan game was solid, $5 beer, and presentation of our beef bbq combo was awesome (see photo). The food looks way better than it tastes.. and they use flat hot grill - not charcoal :-(. However, because every other aspect of our experience was great including attentive and friendly staff and variety of complimentary dessert - I believe they deserve 4 stars (bump up from a 3 I would have given otherwise).

Hahm Ji Bach...the one and only. Decided to dine at the restaurant on a Wednesday evening, the indoor seating was very full so opted for the outdoor seating on this hot evening. The pitcher of Hite beer for $15.99 is a steal, as a glass would cost you $5.99 and was perfect for this humid evening. The restaurant does follow the New York State mandate of checking for vaccinations for their dine in customers. Ordered a marinated galbi and fresh galbi (short ribs) the grill the meat outside on a portable gas stove and flat griddle top. The marinated galbi is the way to go as it is both flavorful and tender. The fresh cut galbi was a bit overcooked and lacked any type of flavor. The best part of the meal is the banchan (small dishes) which comes out in an abundance amount, you can also request for more should you finish the tiny tapas type dishes. The spicy naeng myun (spicy cold noodles) dish was especially refreshing on this hot evening and really hit the spot. It was a perfect meal, my only observation was that they are definitely more attentive to the inside customers and there were stretches without seeing any staff outside. But the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will visit again soon for the marinated galbi. Pricing point is decent for the size of the meal today. 👌

Hahm Ji Bach is one of the most popular Korean restaurants in Flushing and they are open 24 hours which is perfect when we feel hungry at late night. The staff was cool but served everything quickly. There is a variety of options on their menu and we had a difficult time making up our decisions. However, it’s kind of disappointing that some dishes were not available. Their sides were great with 10 different kinds. We had their Duck Hotpot with Scaly hedgehog and 2 single orders of BBQ (Hanger steak and Galbi). Overall, their food was not the best but decent. The duck in the hotpot was braised tender and the broth was flavorful. The Galbi was well grilled but the hanger steak was overcooked and too hard to chew.

Loved the food and the experience! It’s very authentic with an authentic Korean food spread. There is a wait even though the place is huge but it is totally worth it. It is a Michellin Star restaurant.

We came as a group and this was a really fun experience. The pork and sides were a stand out but the bulgogi beef was lacking flavor. They forgot to bring some of the items like the egg and brought them at the very end but we didn’t mind because we were fully satisfied!

Some things on the menu are not available so keep that in mind. I didn’t try the bbq because I was on a time crunch and instead went for the hot stone beef bibimbap. It was good. I would return to try something new and perhaps the bbq with friends. The place is casual but it can be a little stiff in there. I would definitely return to try something new.

The food here are alway fantastic. All the side dish are tasty. It's a little pricey compare to other asian food but it's normal for Korean or Japanese food to be on the pricey side. Lots of street parking around the area harder to find parking in the event and weekend. Also a lot of good coffee and dessert place around the area for after dinner.

I had the rare opportunity to come to Flushing for a date lunch. We haven’t had Korean food in a while and the wife was hankering for agujjim - which is a spicy braised monkfish. It’s main ingredient aside from the monkfish is kongnamul which is soybean sprouts. To the uninitiated, given its typically high price, it might be questionable on the risk/reward scale for trying new foods. Anyhow, we went for it. It’s usually a gigantic platter sized dish so it’s typically a family-style serving. It was just the two of us so we enjoyed the banchan (side dishes) while we waited. I have never been to this location, but have been to one of the prior locations many times before and was pretty reliable. There was the required cabbage kimchee as well as the radish kimchee, anchovy with peanuts, mild seasoned shishito peppers, potato/apple salad, marinated spinach, seasoned sprouts, as well as some spicy mackerel. This was all on in addition to a kale salad with a savory mayo dressing. The place was pretty busy with a steady stream of customers (always a great sign). We did end up waiting a bit - which is kind of expected for a dish that probably isn’t ordered as frequently. When it finally arrived we dug in. Would it taste as we remembered and were expecting? Would it be worth the wait? We’ll, it generally was. As usual, a mountain of kongnamul served piping hot with many chunks of monkfish pieces mixed throughout. It was so good, but the only thing that really detracted from the dish was how sweet it was. It’s usually spicy and maybe a bit salty, but there was an unexpected sweetness to it that took a bit of the shine off what was otherwise a tasty reminder of a beloved dish. Between the banchan and the enormity of the dish, we ended up taking about half home with us to eat for dinner. Other notes - they were checking vaccination cards but seating capacity indoors seemed to be at the normal without any additional spacing (is that even still required) and of course they had outdoor seating as well. It’s located near the Murray Hill LIRR station so convenient to get to and in a spot with a cluster of other Asian restaurants. Solid but relatively on par for Korean restaurants.

Typical Korean restaurant. High quality meat. Good service. A bit pricey but good to try once in a while.

Still a great experience for Korean BBQ. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. Cash and credit are both accepted. Street parking only, space is very limited. 01/2024 Great experience! Very friendly and personable, and accommodating staff. Food was delicious and very authentic Korean flavors. Great place for groups or to celebrate a birthday. 01/08/2020

It's always a good time going to a Korean family-style restaurant, especially when I'm greeted by an extensive banchan selection, soups and BBQ displayed on every table. We came here with BBQ in mind, so we strictly ordered korean bbq - since that is what they are known for, and in addition to seafood pancakes. I was pretty impressed with their banchan selection and how well it pairs with their Korean BBQ. My favorite was their tomato banchan variant. It was so good that I asked for another serving, however they told me they just ran out of it. I would say their banchan quality and selection are among the best, considering dozens of other Korean restaurants that I've been to on the East and West Coast. I would suggest getting at least the LA galbi and pork belly (thick cut) if you're going for BBQ. Their staff was attentive even during peak service hours; intitating small talk as they cut the meats while we ate. I want to point out that their price point was on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. With that said, you're getting attentive service, quality food and an awesome banchan selection! Definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in NYC.

They grill the meat in front of you, you get a bunch of side dishes. The side dishes need some work but the main dishes were good. A nice place to go with friends.

Solid Korean spot with massive banchan spread—they bring tons of sides and actually refill them quickly. Meat quality is good, though the BBQ is cooked on a metal plate (not charcoal), so it lacks that smoky punch . Soups are where this place shines: seafood sundubu and potato jjeong are excellent. Gets loud and lively, service is fast. Stick to the soups and you'll leave happy .

Great BBQ. The portions here seem bigger and quality is awesome. Many cuts of meat and pork (the Iberico Pig belly was divine!). The meat here is abundant and the marinated Kalbi was divine. They take reservations over phone.

I’ve been coming to HamJiBak since the early 2000’s and they are still busy as they were back then, that says a lot in this economy. The staff always greets us with a smile and generosity. The sankypsal (pork belly) used to be thicker but over time it has gotten thinner, which I understand why. The food is good and the banchan are delicious!

Traditional Korean food served 24 hours a day. Their food is nothing more than average but menu selection is huge.

One of the more popular Korean restaurants in the area. Located in the Murray Hill section of Queens. Clean facilities. Food is good. Large portions. Staff is nice, especially to children. Open 24 hours. Card payment is accepted. The complimentary soup that comes with the meal is awesome. Give this place a try.

Traditional Korean restaurant that’s great for families and groups of friends. We came here on a Saturday night, having reserved a table of 6. We were seated right away, looked at the menu for a good 5 minutes before ordering. The banchan(small side dishes) came out right away and the food all came out shortly after. We ordered the crispy dumplings, seafood pancake, 2 orders of bibimbap, cold noodles, 2 orders of the raw marinated crabs, and the spicy octopus main dish. In addition, what we ordered came with 2 soups. The raw marinated crabs came highly recommended, hence why we ordered 2 whole dishes of it. However, I’d say they didn’t live up to the hype. While they were good, I’d have to say that I had better in ktown and other areas of Queens. I don’t recommend the cold noodles. Their noodles were thin and all stuck together, even after cut with scissors. Taste was more bland than other restaurants. Dumplings and seafood pancake as appetizers were okay. Good for the group but don’t think it’s anything special. The octopus was good with a kick of spice if you’re into that. Good amount of meat! I love spice so I didn’t taste any spice but it sure was flavorful! My friends who aren’t use to spice thought it was too spicy to eat again. Bibimbap was nice and filling. Came with loads and loads of veggies and you can adjust the flavor with the red gochujang blend sauce in the bottle. Honestly, we could have ordered just one of them but we packed the other to go. The service was good. Very attentive and welcoming and very kind. Tables were a little cramped and crowded but that’s what you would expect at a Korean restaurant like this. Nice and cozy. Would I come back again? Yes, if I was in the area. I would like to try other things next time as they offer a wide variety of different dishes.

# Hahm Ji Bach Restaurant Review Recently, my girlfriend and I visited Hahm Ji Bach, a delightful Korean restaurant that offers a wide range of delicious dishes. It's our go-to place after a long day, providing a healing atmosphere for both body and mind. ## Our order for two ### Main Courses **Kalbi:** This dish was tender and cooked to perfection. Even though it wasn't served as a table-side Korean BBQ, the flavors were immaculate. **Beef tartar bibimbap:** This cold dish offered a great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The raw beef and veggies combination was both healthy and delicious. If you never tried Korean raw beef before, it's delightfully refreshing. **Beef Skin and Blood Soup:** The soup had a rich iron flavor, with tender fatty beef skin. The spicy soup was served very hot and was a winning combination. The favors all came together really well into a wonderful soup. This dish also had a very healthy and delicious balance. ### Sides The sides at Hahm Ji Bach were outstanding and could each be a dish on their own. My favorite was a green vegetable dish that resembled spinach but had a unique cilantro-like taste. My girlfriend couldn't get enough of the mashed sweet potato and peas side. ## Verdict Our dining experience at Hahm Ji Bach was exceptional, and we were thoroughly impressed. The food was top-notch, and the sides were so good that we would order them as individual dishes. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant with delicious flavors and a cozy atmosphere, Hahm Ji Bach comes highly recommended. Ambiance: Beautiful and Cozy Great for families Drinks: Ok Food: Exceptional Korean Cuisine Price: $$ Restaurant Cuisine: Korean Our Order: Kalbi, Beef tartar bibimbap, Beef Skin and Blood Soup, Green vegetable side dish, Mashed sweet potato and peas side dish

There were couple of problems with the service. We couldn't order pork barbecue for unexplained reason (?) and got vegetable dumplings instead of pork and beef ones that we ordered. Maybe just that day their service wasn't the best. Anyway, food was okay.

I’m a huge fan of Korean bbq, but this was a huge let down. The meat was mediocre and had little flavor to it, the waitstaff was rude and it took multiple attempts to get someone’s attention, and the overall hygiene of the place needs some help. As a heads up, we tried the thick cut pork, marinated short rib, beef brisket, dumplings, and glass noodles and all were mediocre. I wouldn’t recommend.

I've been to a few Korean BBQ places and this one was ok. They currently have indoor and outdoor dining so they can seat a large amount of people. The interior is simple with lot of plants. They are very busy so the servers aren't there to kiss up to you but there to give you quick recommendations and explain how to eat certain things. They have a very large menu. From what I noticed they have a large variety of soups. The meat selection is vast but u wish they had better combination options. Some of the things wr ordered were chile pancakes, cold beef noodles, dumplings, pork belly, and short rib. The food overall was tasty.

We enjoyed the place many years ago, and we found the place a little outdated. The most important thing is the food, and the combination beef was a little overpriced for the thin cuts. We also ordered a seafood hotpot. It was too salty, and we had to ask the server to add water to it. There was no vent over the grill like the modern ones. The overall experience was a little disappointing.

On January 10, 2026, I scampered into this Korean restaurant, shielding myself from a downpour for an early afternoon bite. My initial encounter was a bit awkward, as there seemed to be some confusion about my seating between the host and the wait staff. My meal was a deliciously prepared Gal bi Gui, with its accompaniments. The waitress gave me a choice between white and purple rice. I chose the latter, and she delivered the white. Typically, the Korean Barbecue set comes with a small soup, but it did not make it to the table. Additionally, as I perused the dining patrons with similar flair, I noticed they all had lettuce and sauce. I, on the other hand, had to ask for this as well. Back in the 1990s, I dated a Korean gal who introduced me to Korean cuisine and its customs and traditions. I also learned about some cultural resistance to comingling. While the food was good, I experienced resistance similar to events that had transpired between her and me. I see that some things do not change. I paid a total of $56.60 for this encounter and left a 20% tip. Trust me, it wasn't cultural insensitivity. I did see the Mexican busing tables. It's just an "old-School" thought process that sometimes envelopes people, leaving them imprisoned beyond redemption. I get it.

I have eaten at the restaurant in the past and food is good. I am giving it a lower rating because I tried to place a take our order and the person hung up on me in the middle of my order. She then took the receiver off the hook so I could no longer contact the restaurant. I understand the staff are not thrilled with ‘to-go’ orders but it seems very rude to hang up on a customer.

This place used to be good, just fell off. Ordered pork belly. Meh~ Too dry and tough. Maybe it was because the waitress came over too late to flip the meat. We kept telling the waitress that it's burning. She said it's supposed to be well done. Bad quality pork needs to be cooked well done. Friday 7pm the restaurant was busy, but no one was grilling. Odd. Will probably never come back because there are so many better options so close by.

Ordered the Japchae dish listed on the appetizer and it already set me back by $23 dollars. Expected a much bigger portion and MUCH better quality for the dish. It seemed like half a bottle of seasame oil was dumped into my food. Only counted 6 pieces of beef in TOTAL, what a joke. The waitress kept on pestering me to order more and of course I didn't want to, for obvious reasons. "Hahm Ji Bach means that we give large generous portions 😂" how ironic. GREED!

Upon arriving, we noticed a considerable number of customers, which initially seemed promising. However, it became apparent that the restaurant was severely understaffed, leading to prolonged wait time after ordering and a less-than-ideal dining experience. Additionally, it was concerning that none of the tables, including ours, had a smoke vent typically found in Korean BBQ establishments. This absence caused discomfort, as I felt surrounded by smoke, which is not conducive to a pleasant dining environment, especially considering potential implications for lung health. We opted for two combos, totaling $220, with the expectation of a premium Korean BBQ experience. Regrettably, our meat was left cooking for an extended period, resulting in it being both dry and burnt. We believe the value did not match the price, especially considering the availability of other nearby KBBQ options. When I raised concerns about the quality of the meat with our server, I received an unhelpful response, with the server suggesting that the dryness was expected due to thickness. This, coupled with issues such as overcrowded grilling and bitter egg soup, left us dissatisfied. After expressing our concerns, however, there was a noticeable shift in service. A new server took over, and our table received more attention, albeit seemingly prompted by our complaint. This change, while appreciated, raises concerns about the consistency of service. Ideally, exceptional service should be standard and not a reaction to customer feedback. It's important that all patrons receive equal attention and service quality from the moment they are seated. While we appreciate the effort put into the banchan offerings, we believe improvements in service, proper staffing, and attention to food quality are crucial for a more positive customer experience.

Christmas Eve should be a happy time, but tonight's dinner ended up being a frustrating one. Everything was normal at first, with two tables celebrating birthdays. The first dish of roast duck was fine, but when the second dish of roast beef was served, the meat was burnt and no one came to say it was ready to be taken out and put on the plate. At first, I thought they were busy clearing other tables. Even after those two tables were cleared, no one came over. Even when I walked past, they ignored me. In the end, I had to go to the front desk to ask for the bill and pay, and I had to take the money there myself. The service was just too bad. My daughter and husband were both very angry. My daughter was so angry for the first time that she said she wouldn't tip at all for such service (because they didn't refill the water and the meat was burnt. I was originally planning to give a double tip because it was Christmas Eve and I hoped everyone could be happy). But in the end, because of my daughter and husband's attitude, I only gave a normal tip. The most important thing is that we were in a bad mood. 😢 We have been in New York for decades and have been to many Korean restaurants. This one is really indescribable. We have never been so angry to leave a restaurant.

Complete dog trash establishment. The wait staff is not attentive, we ordered a Bimbibap and wanted the stone one and the brought us out this dog food looking trash in a cold bowl. We asked them if they could sent us the correct order and they put the dog food cold one in a hot stone. This place sucks, would not recommend. They’re prob racist too. Never coming back.

Our waitress was extremely to us for no reasons. Because we did not order barbecue??? I have no idea. The lady didn't serve us AT ALL ok? She completely just ignored every SINGLE request! For god's sake, their food is just literally average...or below. Don't waste your time traveling all the way to this nowhere place hoping their have some extraordinary cuisine. NO. It's Korean food be realistic. Especially if you're Chinese, 去锅大爷吧. Don't torture yourself by going there! Smile :)

This place came highly recommended from a few of my Korean friends. My girlfriend and I are world travelers and have a deep appreciation for Korean food. I don't know if they were having an off day but we were thoroughly disappointed and felt robbed. The short rib meat was good but everything else lacked depth of flavor and we just couldnt taste the love. I know many of you are going to disagree but this is strictly my experience. GO TO THE CAST IRON POT! ITS UP A FEW BLCOKS ,its all you can eat and even thought certain cuts of meat cater to the western palate, they still serve traditional styles at a fraction of the price compared to Hahm Jis with a more responsive waiting staff.

The food was good. But the problem was that my mom has a severe allergy to bell pepper and I informed them this before I started to order and ask if there was anything with it and they said no. So I ordered and asked again if the food I ordered had bell pepper in it and they said no. So when the food arrived I started to eat and my mom too when I saw it on the beef the bell pepper. My mom went to the bathroom to try to throw up and I talked with them, so they changed for one without and I ask one more time if anything on our table had, they said again no. But then we found more on the tomato. My mom didn’t got really sick, only of her stomach, but if she eats she gets really bad, she needs adrenaline and to go to the ER quick, so it was something serious and I asked a lot of times and they said no. We got worried the rest of the dinner with the other things, but we paid a lot to leave and was her last day in town and she really wanted to have the K-bbq experience.

November 11,2025: I decided to go for lunch at this restaurant and to my surprise the service and food was one of the worse Korean bbq restaurants I been too. I had order pork soup and seafood pancakes . The soup was watery and the seafood pancakes was the worse. Very thin and no seafood if any and tasted like it came out from the microwave. When we arrived we sat down and order the dishes and in less then 5 minutes it was served. The waitress was one of the worst we ever had. She never came over to the table if we needed anything or if everything was ok with the food and to top it off had only 2 napkins for a party of two. When we had finished we paid and left $15 tip which she did not deserve from a bill of about $66. I decided after we paid to order an extra bottle of sake cost about $16. Gave her a $20 bill and to asked her twice for my change. She said thought I said to keep the change. In total as a business owner myself this type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never be back to this place. I travel all over the city and other parts of the states and countries and consider myself a critic and a foodie.
