This place is a must-visit — a true Davie staple. Themed like an old-school diner, it’s the kind of breakfast spot you bring the whole family to, not just for the amazing food and friendly service, but for the vibe. The signature Cadillac booth alone is worth the trip (and a picture 📸), but trust me, you’ll want to stay for the food. Gladys, the owner, and Ernesto, the manager, are almost always there. They know their regulars by name and make you feel like family. It’s got that classic mom-and-pop feel where, even though you went out for breakfast, it feels like home. The food? Packed with flavor and clearly made with love. I always order the Sub Café Breakfast (and never switch it up because I don’t want to miss out, lol). It comes loaded: two croquetas (not frozen — big deal if you know croquetas), sausage (I swap mine for extra bacon), bacon, eggs, toast, and the crown jewel — the home fries. Those home fries are next-level, tangy with just the right hit of onion, and I swear they have to be a family recipe. I’m grateful this gem is just 5 minutes from my house. On weekends, it’s our go-to breakfast spot with the family — good food, good people, good vibes.
Great food and prices!! It was 7 of us and they got us sat quickly. The waiter was very nice and polite. He did forget a few things but he was the only one serving and the restaurant was full. We order breakfast and it was all very delicious. The breakfast combos are great and good portions. The egg and cheese croissant was delicious. The freshly squeezed orange juice was perfect and a good size.
In the last 15 years, I have passed by this little gem and not entered. Today, my wife and I decided to have breakfast there. The exterior does not do it justice. We stepped in and were immediately transported to a 50's Diner atmosphere. The decor was beautiful, the music was soft yet invited you to dance in your seat. The place was spotlessly clean. Our breakfast delicious along with nice hot cafe con leche and tostadas. We can't wait to go back and experience their pastrami sandwiches for lunch. Our server was Gaby and she was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. See you all again soon.
For a family owned spot i ABSOLUTELY love this place! if you're in the area and want to enjoy a good QUALITY sub this is your go to spot. forget anything else highly recommend a cuban steak or Philly cheesesteak! & it only gets better this place will make you one of the best cuban coffee/Colada Broward County has to offer! if you're a coffee lover try this place out as well you won't regret it!
A hidden gem!! The place is colorful, stylish and fun!! Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Elvis plus the giant real firebird parked on the side as a booth!! Philly cheese steak was awesome. The owner has such an amazing energy, very sweet lady and the guys working were nice! I'll definitely be back soon!!
Amazing food. The guys in the kitchen are friendly , attentive, and great cooks! 6 out of 5 stars!
I love coming here.. They are always friendly and helpful.. I hate to think about having to move and not have my favorite Cuban place.. Best coffee around and the food is amazing.. The best part is you can watch everything they do so you don't have to worry about your food.. I wish I could eat here every morning.. If you're in town or just want some good Cuban breakfast or lunch you MUST stop here!!!!!!
This place is legit.. Super clean , great food, great service. Hidden gem. 5 stars all tte way and more.
This SubCafe is toooo good. Originally I went there wanting a Cuban Steak Sandwich but they were out. i was going to leave but I decided to give something else a try. And I am so glad I did! The Churrasco Steak Sandwich was soft and the steak was perfectly cooked. The 8” sub was very filling! My boyfriend had the Philly #3 and it was also delicious. We are definitely coming back here!
This place is a treasure. I got to school at Nova and cant believe people that have been going to school here for a couple of years don't know about this place. Everyone I take ends up loving it. The service is just fantastic, the people that run the place really love being there. Recommendation if you can handle some spice: Hot grilled chicken sub: with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, sweet peppers and muenster cheese grilled with the meat. Then Mayo/mustard, more tomatoes, jalapeno +banana peppers and cherry pepper added to sub once grilled. AMAZINGGGGGGG!
This is my FAVORITE spot for quick food. It’s fast, fresh and reasonably priced. Not the cheapest but not expensive either, definitely worth the money. I wish they were open later but still a five-star place. The people are very nice too.
This cute and quaint café has a diner touch to it. The decorations make it perfect. Food service is always on point. You can eat in or order to go. The food is made fresh and from scratch. Coffee is authentic and juice is also made fresh.
One of my favorite places in Davie. Oswaldo is the best!
Best hole in the wall you'll find. Good is great & the people are so sweet
So good! Great place to grab some Cuban coffee. And their meatball sub was amazing! The staff is super sweet and you can tell they love what they do! Definitely will be a regular :)
What a great mom and Pop place to enjoy a Philly steak and cheese sandwich or a number of different sandwiches that they prepare right there in front of you on a grill. I’ve tried several sandwiches and they all melt in your mouth and the flavor is super. If you have never been there please go and try this place out. You won’t regret it. Nice people, nice atmosphere. Go don’t miss out. Yummy 😋😋😋
Haven't been here in years. New owners im assuming. Very nice place. They have a nice selection. Subs, smoothies, and coffee in all it's lovely forms. They also have every Arizona drink known to man. The staff is friendly and the vibe is casual and chill. But my lost favorite part is the patio out front. It's full of flowers and plants and they have a swing table! The food was good and the price was right. So glad it's right up the road from me. Great lunch spot!
Great decor, good service, great tasting food
Everything about this little sub shop is legit. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere both inside and outside in the garden makes you want to chill out and eat. Your biggest problem is picking out your sandwich. It's a tough choice- the Cuban steak sandwich or a traditional Cuban. If you haven't tried the steak, do it! And, great Cuban coffee choices. Wish I lived nearby...
They have one of the best churasco steak sandwiches I've ever had in Broward! I've been coming here for years and they've upgraded the inside but still the great food it's always been. They get a little busy at lunch time but I promise it's worth it.
I’ve been to a few steak sandwich places in my time, I got the 8 in steak sub onions peppers lettuce tomato with pepper jack cheese. Probably the best I’ve ever had. I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was juicy, without out being wet. I don’t like soggy bread but a little juice goes great! The cook was nice & pleasant...keep your eyes off tv, some things not good for believers...I will be back again!
Great experience here. Had one of the smoothies. What I really loved was that it was not crazy sweet. The young lady who served me my smoothie was very professional and friendly. Gladys is an awesome manager giving you that personal touch to your visit. And now they are open on Sundays...did somebody say Brunch? Oh the restroom was very clean. Overall very clean establishment.
I have never been here before and was so pleased. It's such a cool atmosphere. I had the Philly cheese steak, and it was amazing. I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic. But it was very good!!
Lived down here my whole life and never got around to checking out what turns out to be a great little sub shop until today. From traditional warm/cold subs to Cuban favorites they have it all. Great coffee, fresh juice bar. Will definitely be back.
Finally great coffee in the area. Nothing like a Cuban cafecito!
Really nice people!! Great food. Ambience is cute and kitschy!
I liked it. I needed a restaurant close to my college campus and haven’t tried this place. When you walk in it gives you 70s vibes with Elvis and Marilyn decor. I recommend!
Loved this place! The service was superb and the croquettes and breakfast were delicious. The Cuban coffee is always on point. They have a real cool 50’s Chevy booth and 50’s decor.
Best Philly cheesesteak in town
Excellent hot and cold subs, the Sub Cafe has been one of our favorites for years. The quality of their meats and produce is better than almost anything else locally. Prompt friendly service is the norm, however it is a small luncheonette and with the schools nearby they can get overwhelmed at lunch time. The only negative is some of their sandwiches could be stuffed a little more with toppings, sometimes they skimp. Overall, Sub Cafe is probably the top sub shop in Davie.
It was Sunday the first day of daylight savings time and the weather was perfect for letting the fresh air and wind in this fabulous café! The breakfast and early lunch crowd were treated to the fabulous smooth sounds of Pamela " the velvet voice" Diggs! Yours truly was the the Mc . Either dining or waiting for their orders , all delighted in the music ,atmosphere and food . If you want great sandwiches , or breakfast which is served all day along with the best coffee in south Florida make the original café your dining location. Say hello to the Wolfpack and Ms. Diggs if you go on a Sunday!
The only Miami style ventenita in broward county. Best Guava and cheese pastry anywhere. inside is a 50s themed Americana sitting while outside has a backyard patio feel. Food and coffee both great here.
Wow so nice and admirable place and people and the food exactly what I need to hit my hunger. I will be back 🔥🤌
Great service. Loved cafe con leche! Pancakes delicious and sponges! Looking forward to come back. Thank you.
We just absolutely loved this Cafe! Spectacular decor! Like a 50's diner. The service was perfect, very attentive and friendly staff. Dine in or out it's so beautiful to admire. The food was done to perfection. Definitely would return to this place and recommend to everyone! Reasonably priced too.
A real gem. Delicious, the right price and very neat design. Beautiful oasis in parking lot too. They are proud of their establishment and it shows!
Such a great little shop. The breakfast was delicious and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The 50s decor was so cute. Coffee was DELICIOUS. Will definitely be back.
their philly cheesesteake with mushrooms was better than i had i Philly👌👌👌👌
I haven't been back since I graduated from college and let me tell you that it's just as great if not better! The food is always enticing for when you want a nice and filling meal for reasonable prices! And if you want to eat there, the environment is friendly and packed with nostalgia! Definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't already. And if you did in the past, come back again!
Love this place every item on the menu is delicious
Second time there. Both experiences were excellent. Staff is super nice and the food is delicious. I had a Philly cheese steak the first time and a tuna sandwich the second. No complaints at all. Nice atmosphere definitely will be back at my new spot
Stopped by The Original Subcafe and wow! The food does not disappoint! I had the Philly #1 and my friends ordered the Cuban steak sandwich. We all shared the Cuban toast, which was the perfect start to the meal. Everything was absolutely delicious, you can really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The flavors are bold and authentic, exactly what you’d hope for from a Cuban spot. The service is just what you’d expect from a busy Cuban café: fast-paced, minimal small talk when it’s crowded, but always friendly and willing to chat when things slow down. Don’t come expecting full restaurant-style service, this place runs on its own rhythm, and that’s part of the charm. If it’s busy, be patient and don’t be rude! It’s a small, lively spot doing its best to keep up with demand. Highly recommend going in with an open mind and an appetite, you’ll leave happy and full.
We were in the area moving our son to Davie and stopped in for lunch today. What a great find. Family atmosphere and cool vibe. We had Cuban sandwiches and Cuban coffee that was the real deal. Good prices and generous portions. We can’t wait to visit again when we are in town.
We absolutely love coming here on our lunch breaks! My manager Denise, Josh, and I are here almost all the time for our sandwiches. Marco, Osvaldo, and Mario are amazing — they always get our order right and make sure we’re taken care of exactly how we like it. We usually ask for New York–style chop cheese, which isn’t even on the menu, and they always make it special for us. The best part is you can watch them prepare everything with so much love and care. Every sandwich feels made just for you. Highly recommend this spot — we’ll definitely keep coming back!
The chicken and steak phillys are good. The service is good but it can get busy quick. The coffee is great. Very welcoming and respectful staff. All the food was fresh.
We were stoked to get to experience this spot. We aren't in this area often but I think it's 100% a must stop in if you are and need a good sandwich. The decor is perfect and I believe add to the vibes when you're digging into one of their awesome subs. The portions are great, prices fit well and the quality is spot on.
good lunch spot although a little expensive for what you get but i like the set up and decor of the establishment. most of the sandwiches i had are pretty good. nothing to complain about.
This place has some of the best steak sandwiches but be prepared to pay for it. You are charged top dollar for every item in this place, while being worth it most of the time be prepared for $30 to $45 bill. You have to get the steak sandwich and extra potato sticks.
This little cafe is a gem that's a somewhat hard to get to (from University, make a uturn from the left turn into Home Depot, the cafe is locates the right turn before the light). The coffee is great and the subs are awesome is well just make sure to check the hours as they close super early (in my opinion). You order at the front at the grill before paying. You can also order and pay for your coffee there as well before giving your receipt to the coffee station. The lady who works there will bring it to you. There are seatings inside and outside and lunch can get super crowded and slow. I got a 8 inch Cuban steak sub and it had the right amount of everything and super filling. I could only finish half of the sub. The subs come in 8 in and 10 in, but I would suggest you order what you can finish as I don't think these should be reheated. They have an array of Cuban coffee. My friends got the cafe con leche and greatly enjoyed it. I got the cortadito and it was made just right. Overall happy with my experience and will be returning for many more lunches.
This place is really great. Probably the best tuna sub I've had anywhere around. Highly recommend the steak subs as well, especially the one cooked with A-1. The subs are phenomenal. The cortaditos are awesome. I only give it 4 stars cos the guy that I think is the owner is a little odd and made me feel weird while I was in there. Can't recommend the food enough though!
Good food but a little pricey. 8"cuban steak and a soda like $20. Other shops with similar quality, have more reasonable pricing.
I paid $11.99 for a bacon egg and cheese on a Cuban roll with 2 eggs. I didn’t know the price until I got there. In what world is a bacon egg and cheese $11.99?? Seems very excessive in my opinion but the staff was very nice.
Place is disorganized. No signs for where to order so I was standing around. Workers made eye contact with me several times but quickly looked away. A simple hello or one moment would have been fine. Food is good tho.
This a relic circa 1967. Ruben was to die for.
I came because I haven't been in a few months, I used to come three times a week for breakfast or lunch when I worked around the corner. I stood in line for almost an hour with only 6 people in front of me when I walked in. The staff was all over the place restocking and cleaning rather than making the sandwiches requested. When I finally got my burger it was burnt and the fries I requested at the beginning hadn't been started I was so frustrated I just left. I guess they aren't as concerned with repeat business.
The place is very clean and the staff is kind, however, for two subs with barely any vegetables, some fries and two can sodas for $47.00, I do not believe it was worth it. It was pricey for the food quality that we received.
I wanted to give this place 5 stars. Beautiful comfortable restaurant with amazing food, but VERY over priced.
Food is good. The grilled chicken and bacon sub was not that great because the chicken was dry. Ordered early by phone today with some friends who also made orders ahead, one of them didn't get their sandwich despite ordering 20 minutes ahead . We got there and saw they had his ticket in the trash. The lady went and picked it up with her greasy gloves (DIDN'T CHANGE GLOVES) and proceed to continue making the sandwiches. She goes to check me out with the same greasy gloves. They need better customer service as they cannot handle high volume orders.
Good but a little pricey for the size of meal. Lunch can be almost $20
Came in for breakfast. It’s been years since we’ve been. They have remodeled the restaurant since our last visit. It looks really cool inside. Our server, Julia was wonderful Now, if I’m being completely honest, I did not love our breakfast. I would come back but order something different. I tried their featured breakfast. I figured since it was named after the restaurant it would be amazing but unfortunately it wasn’t. I just feel the quality of the eggs, sausage and bacon that I couldn’t stomach more than one bite was not good. The people at the tables near us really enjoyed their food. I just think what I ordered wasn’t the best I would definitely come back and try something else just based on my past experience, our great server and the other people eating at the restaurants Experience today.
I’m only taking my time to leave a review since the food is not bad, whoever is in charge of online orders needs to get it together fast or they will continuously lose business. Placed an order line 15 minutes later my husband shows up and they said they just got the order in.. ok not a problem. My husband than is waiting more the 40 minutes, turns out they assumed a Uber eats order was combined with our order because the person had a similar name. Does that make sense? If you were confused and you know one out of the two people that are coming to pick up an order is there then don’t you think you would ask? My baby was in the car with me FLIPPING HIS LID because we are waiting for my husband to come back to the car for more than 40 minutes that is unacceptable. Food is good but unfortunately will not be back. Work on creating a better system
I sadly felt mistreated at this location. It was 5:30pm. I stood next to my wife. The employee asked my wife what would she want to eat and drink. She ordered her sandwich and her coffee no problem. The employee swifly rushed to the cash register and told her the amount to pay. When she told the employee that I needed to order he looked at me over his glasses, raised his hands and said "you didn't tell me you wanted something". He didn't even smile noticing he was serious. With a not so friendly face he made my order. Based on food quality, ambiance, price and customer service. Pros: Sandwiches were good and tasty, small but nicely decorated place. Cons: A bit pricey and customer service can greatly improve.
We decided to try out a new place and chose here. The food was absolutely amazing, we will be back. But we will not dine in like we did today. We had 3 different people wait on us, and all were terrible. Sat us a dirty table, asked for our drinks and I never got my drink. We had to ask for our order to be taken, food came out really fast, and never saw a waiter again. Had to go to the counter to pay the bill and tell them what we had.
The food is good but every time my boyfriend and I come here to eat, we have to wait so long for our food. It could be only on the weekends since that’s when we’ve gone but just a heads up, if you order to-go, it seems like the kitchen puts those orders in before the people sitting down, no matter who has been there first. This is the fourth time we’ve experienced this. I hate complaining about service but this time, we had to say something. If you are looking for fast service, this is not the place. Also, the announcer, who is there on Sunday’s, would not leave the customers alone to eat and enjoy their food.
Husband is from this area, and I like to try places we don't have back home when traveling. We enter and are told to seat ourselves. Cool. We wait around 10 minutes to order. We order a smoothie, a hot chocolate, philly cheesesteak, cheeseburger, and fries. Amounts to about $42. Did not tip due to the following: Neither server was wearing gloves and kept switching between which table they were taking care of. They kept bringing the wrong food to each table. Our original waiter stopped by once to ask how everything was and if we wanted our check and i told her we dont know as we havent gotten our food yet. I should have just paid for our drinks and left but I'm pregnant and hungry. Her response was "oh true" then she just.... walked away. Waited about 30 more minutes for food and still didn't get my fries or fountain drink. 10 minutes later, my fries come out and I had to ask again for my drink. Fountain drink had several pieces of black debris floating in it and is being held by the rim of the oddly small glass. Had to wait another 10 minutes to get anyone's attention to notify them of such and I asked for an alternate sealed drink (can/bottle). By this time I'm beyond irritated. People that came in after us that ordered platters got their food and drinks before us, paid and left before we even got our food. Seemingly, no one pays much attention to their tables or their orders. Will not be back.
Used to be amazing, almost went there few times a week and started the weekend off with a breakfast here. But over the last few months, service has depreciated, the menu prices went up and worst, the menu items (breakfast combos) changed to where it's no longer desirable. They won't substitute any item on the menu, even though it's a small family establishment. Careful when you add too many toppings, if you don't pay attention, they will make you a $20 sandwich for 3-4 toppings added. Overall: food tastes good still, overpriced, and the quality of service has depreciated.
The sandwiches are great but it feels like a sacrifice to get one from here. Service is extremely slow and they will get your order wrong every single time. You have to stand there and watch them make it, that’s the only way. Do not bother ordering over the phone or delivery. Your order is guaranteed to be wrong every single time. If you order ahead and pick it up yourself, they won’t start making it until you get there and ask someone about it. It just doesn’t make sense that a place that has been in business so long can’t read orders and fulfill them.
The food is pricey but goid. Bad part is it is never ready when it’s supposed to be. Both times I ordered food online and it gives you a pick up time. I came 10 minutes after a pick up time to ensure that the food would be waiting for me. They do not start cooking the food until you get there. This defeats the whole purpose of pre-ordering.
I came to The Original SubCafe after reading all the good reviews. At first, things went well — a very nice gentleman greeted me and even sat me at a fun decorative car table. I ordered coffee and a sandwich — both were good, and I was actually trying to compliment them on the food. But then, a female staff member came over with a very rude and dismissive attitude. While I was trying to say something nice about my experience, she completely ignored me — as if I was talking to the wall. She didn’t acknowledge my words, didn’t say “thank you,” didn’t even care. The only thing she seemed focused on was kicking me out of that table. I was shocked. I had paid for my food, I was still finishing my meal, and instead of a simple polite interaction, I was treated with hostility and disrespect. That ruined the entire experience for me. Bottom line: Good food, but one staff member’s unprofessional and downright rude behavior was so bad that I would never come back.
This is the one most unwelcoming racist establishing in FL. Waited 20 minutes only to have a white Cuban come in and his order was taken less than 2 minutes upon arrival. When we tried to get the attention of servers they ignored us and started speaking Spanish. Not knowing I understood. They don’t want Black people here so I’m heading to a place where I’m welcomed. I gave 1 star because it wouldn’t allow me to give 0 star.
$$$$$$$$20 dollars for a Philly cheese steak and a soda is crazy. Plus order to way to long also the employees is touching everything with the same glove im allergic to pickles so i had to telling because he was preparing another customer order and mine and i told him please change glove. But what really is crazy is the prices of this place and the sub wasn't good
wish i could give this place zero stars. its my first time here and i ordered a simple chicken sandwhich and after 35 minutes i’m wondering why everyone got my food before me and even the people who came in after me, just for them to not have even made my food this whole time. Large parties came in after me and all got their food before me, that doesn’t make sense to me.
Worst “Cuban” sandwich I’ve ever had (not even toasted!) also ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich and not sure which one was worse! Café con leche was cold! On top of that, we had stomach cramps right after eating! Do not waste your time or money at this place! Extremely long wait & way overpriced! One star is even too much!
Insanely slow nobody there 45 mins for cheesesteak omelet and a Cuban sandwhich didn’t press my bread after older guys asking the dopiest slowest helper on earth how the hell do u forget to press a Cuban sandwhich worthless over priced not even good … I ordered something for myself and a coworker who wasn’t with me but I was with 1 other co worker after he took forever making my food then he asked co worker I was with now good is cold and took almost an hour never again
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. The service is as bad as it can get. It’s supposed to be a place to grab a quick sub but the older gentleman serving dropped the ball. Everyone was complaining at the service. After 30 min he had forgotten to put our order in. 5 parties that came after us had left and we still hadn’t received our order. Then the server gave us a discount shown in the receipt due to the bad service. When I went to pay the old man at the register Osvaldo with the gray hair and glasses might be from Chile or Uruguay due to the accent it got even worse. He started to make excuses on the bad service and took off the discount from the receipt out of spite because he was upset that I was upset. He said maybe we should’ve ordered at the counter to avoid the bad service. When I asked for the owners contact he said “it does not matter if you don’t want to come here again someone else will”. Which I never said because the food is good. He avoided giving me the owners number. One gentleman named Roberto that seemed to be a cook was the most respectful saying “im sorry we’ve messed up”. That’s how you show customer service not making excuses and treating the customer bad. I am so upset and request to speak to the owner. He did not want to provide his info. That says a lot about this guy and the place. I have proof of all this I am not making it up. The image I posted is the receipt where the discount was given and I have the card statements where he charged me without the 10% discount initially for bad service. Avoid the terrible service and if still considering coming by get it to go. This is also not my first time here I’ve been coming here for 10 years. Service declined like doge coin. I’m the picture I posted you see the receipt with bad service discount of 10% I can show the owner Osvaldo took it out, out of spite in my statements. AVOID the bad service if you want to experience it stop by.
This place has great food. But the service and respect level for their customers is like negative 50. I don’t know whats going on in there this morning but they are getting into with everybody right now literally. Especially an older lady who works the register and cashes everyone out. She is the ultimate B WORD. Just go somewhere else, they’re a little too pricey too.
The waitress was wonderful. Unfortunately I never got to try the food. The sandwich I ordered didn't have the toppings I paid extra for them when I got it back they gave me cold uncooked mushrooms on my sandwich. When I inquired if the mushrooms are supposed to be cooked the scoope the whole already cooked sandwich back on the grill and tried to cook In the mushrooms. At this point I said no thank you and I can't justify paying $16 for a sandwich there not going to care to make properly onay topping I ordered was mushrooms.
The workers were extremely rude to my coworker and I. We wanted to take a picture in their car booth and they ran out yelling at us when we did. There is no need to yell at your customers. If they did not like that I took a photo, they could just have politely communicated this to me and kindly ask to delete it. Communication is key in effective customer service and I’m very disappointed that this instance occurred because I used to enjoy having lunch here and I will never return.
The absolute worst experience. There was one person ahead of us and after waiting for 15 minutes they advised us to sit down and someone will take our order. Another 15 minutes went by until someone finally came by our table. After waiting another 30 minutes of my lunch time, come to find out the waitress had forgotten to give the cook our order. Disorganized and VERY rude. You have a better chance of getting better service at Vicky's bakery across the street which isn't saying much.
Trash service and poor management. I’m not sure how the food tastes – as I never got it. I went on a Sunday with two other people and ordered an egg and cheese sandwich along with a guava pastry. The rest of the table was brought their food ... mine never came. After flagging down the waitress, I was informed that my sandwich would come in 5 minutes. It never did. After asking another staff member what the issue was they said they didn’t have my order and that they were out of the guava pastry I asked for 45 mins ago. Management offered no solution aside from giving the rest of the table 10 percent off their bill. Spend your money and time elsewhere.
What happened to my favorite sub shop? Casher was very rude. Charged me for 6 inch sub then realized I had 12" and wanted $10 differance. Was only $3 differance. Ended up giving her five more so I could just leave. Local subway makes a better sub. They lost me as a loyal customer.
Wish If I could give cero stars. We came here with our kids. Right away our kids started touching it, mind you not damaging it.As soon as that happened the old owner a lady, started yelling and asking tjem not to touch it. Mind you this is supposed to be a table for customers to eat. It was 4:30om and they close at 6pm. The lady asked us to eat outside since they were going to close . It was also raining out. I had never been treated like this in any other restaurant. Keep this up and you won’t be in business next month. Horrendous customer service.
Walked in after the lunch rush, there was only one person in front of me, that hadn't ordered yet. Three guys outside waiting for their food. I watched the main older guy grilling one sandwich at a time. Then putting on the toppings one. at. a. time. Absolutely excruciating to watch. No one acknowledged me when I walked in so I waited a few minutes. I asked the guy (in Spanish) where do I order and he said, "You have to wait, I'm making a sandwich." 90% of the grill space is empty, there are now 4 people behind me and the only person in front of me is arguing with the cashier and Older Guy why haven't they made her sandwich, she ordered a while ago. How on earth can this place be making one sandwich at a time with three people working?!? I left after ten minutes without ordering anything. Woman in front of me still has not had her sandwich started.
I walked in and waited several minutes and no one spoke to me. I stood at the counter for another several minutes and still no one spoke to me, there were two guys who were behind the counter making whatever orders they had, there was a person standing by the cash register and the server lady who had walked passed me didnt bother to look at me, and went and sat a a table with what appeared to be another customer. After waiting about 7minutes, I askeds the guys behind the counter if anyone was going to take my order, they looked at each other they looked at the lady in the booth and the guy at the counter, I repearted my self in Spanish as I am fully bilingual, being an American of Cuban descent, I fluent in both English and SPanish and still didnt get an answer, it was as though I was invisible. I waited several more minutes just to see if anyone would actually talk to me. After about 10 minutes or so, I walked out the door and have never returned. The place looks great. The food smelled good, but they are horrible, how it is this place is still in business is beyond me.
We used to consider this place 4-5 stars. But from our last experience, we will not be going back! We were charged $55 for three subs! The foot long was $17, which is not the price on their menu. There was a tip automatically added on, that we did not agree to…$6.90 and it was a pick up order. The one man that is always there is in definite need of an attitude adjustment, he is never friendly, and super short and snappy when you order, also the quality of the meat is just not the same any more, very fatty and chewy.
Unfortunately, I will never return. It's a very cozy place, with a unique and cheerful decor that catches your eye, but the staff's service is terrible. Today my family and I went to have breakfast. We ordered three breakfasts, and 50 minutes passed with nothing. We were distracted, chatting, and when we complained about the time, they told us they hadn't prepared the order and to give us five more minutes. Well, about 15 minutes passed... Finally, the order arrived exactly as they wanted, because it wasn't what we ordered. They had substituted sausage for bacon and pancakes for French toast—in other words, they brought what we did NOT order. We asked if, given the delay and the error in the order, they would give us a discount since we couldn't wait any longer. I was very surprised to hear that they were sorry, but we had to pay for the order because they had already prepared it. I said that of course I wanted to pay, but that I thought a discount was fair for the long wait, for their oversight, and especially for the wrong sandwiches we received. The staff are very rude and have zero respect for customers. I will never return and I do not recommend it. Enviar comentarios
I’ve been coming to this sub shop for years and always loved the mom-and-pop vibe, decor, and the food. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been really disappointing, mainly due to customer service. If you plan to eat inside, be aware that they’ll tell you to find a seat first- but I’d strongly recommend ordering immediately instead. We were seated and then completely skipped while multiple to-go orders placed after us were made first. After waiting about 20 minutes with no acknowledgment, we stood up to place our order to go. While we were standing there, the owners spoke to each other in Spanish about us ordering now instead of sitting, which already felt uncomfortable, they assumed we didn’t understand . When we placed our order, I clearly asked for a Cuban steak sandwich and my boyfriend ordered a Philly cheesesteak. The man then told his wife to ring up a Cuban sandwich and a Cuban steak sandwich. I corrected this, and he became visibly frustrated that he had to start over. At the end, we were handed a Philly cheesesteak and a regular Cuban sandwich-not the Cuban steak sandwich we ordered and paid extra for. When I politely said the order was incorrect, he became defensive and insisted I had ordered a Cuban sandwich, which was not true. At that point, I chose to leave without the correct food and decided I won’t be returning. It’s sad to see a place I used to love go downhill like this. The food may still be good, but the service has become disorganized and unwelcoming, which makes it hard to support anymore.
I came here last week for the first time and I thought it was really good and everyone was really nice so I thought I would stop by for lunch today when I was in the area. I wanted a Cuban sandwich but with chicken instead of pork because I don’t eat pork. Im tired & I ended up repeating myself 3x that I want it exactly like the Cuban sandwich but with chicken instead after she already charged me, the lady rolled her eyes and started going back and forth with me in front of customers about it. How embarrassing for an establishment? I asked for a refund and to cancel the sandwich & she said she would have to go call the back so I just said screw it I’ll still take it. The guy was super nice but I definitely will not be back now. Super disappointing.
Food is overpriced and the food is very disgusting. Bought the steak sandwich today it was stringy and poor quality of meat. Do not recommend this place. also has no flavor at all
The old man who cooks there is the rudest man I have ever seen serving. Beter go to Vicky's , 3 min from there.
