Wonderful accommodations for a last minute reservation. Outrageously friendly staff, quick with helpful suggestions - perfect citrus mocktail and blended bourbon. Delicious salads, and main course so good… you’ll force yourself to brush your teeth when you get home because the Chef prepares so well you don’t want to lose the flavor. I do have to add this meal was the best meal, I ever had! Bravo for our after a show meal. We are looking forward to returning to “The Fort”.
We had a great experience here. Walter gave us a booth, with side benches that move for comfort. Chris was our waiter and was very attentive. Best of all, the steaks are high quality and perfectly cooked. All in all a great experience and I am a tough grader.
Last night my adult son and I had a very special dinner on the patio at The Fort! The service was exceptional, the food delicious and plentiful! We will be back! Thank you for a lovely evening!
The best meal and drinks I've had. Ever. Usually I love one or two things about a dinner but here I loved everything. First I am gluten free and they worked with me on everything. Second omg everything was delicious. The Huntsman drink was beyond amazing. I had planned on multiple different drinks until I tasted this one and then that's all I drank. Then I had the mussels Piccata and oh let me tell you that's amazing and I never missed the toast points. Then I had the special for the surf and turf and yum, the chef is a genius. Then I had to order two desserts after a server had me smell the Earl gray tea they used in this week's Panna Cotta chef's flavor dessert. Plus being gluten free I had to try the flourless chocolate cake. The great thing is the chef doesn't use any flour to thicken his sauces. So many things are gluten free. I'm so happy I found this place but so sad because I found it the day before I'm leaving town. But I will make a trip here just for this food. Honestly, best food and drink I have ever had.
First time there. Classic NYC Prime Steakhouse vibe in Fort Pierce. We had a couple of steaks and appetizers. Steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking. Everything tasted great and the service was on their game as you would expect from a fine dining establishment. We will definitely be back.
All I can say is that this place is amazing. The service, the food, the atmosphere TOP NOTCH. Special thanks to Walter and Chris for making our Anniversary super special. Thank you Krystal from the Peacock House for recommending this amazing restaurant. We are definitely coming back to try more of the amazing dishes.
I had an amazing dining experience here! The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly attentive, making sure everything was just right. The service was top-notch and truly added to the experience. The drinks were expertly crafted, and the dessert was absolutely delicious—definitely the perfect ending to a great meal. I will absolutely be returning soon! Highly recommend this Fort Pierce gem!
Our bartender Chris was amazing. Food and drinks on point. Fabulous experience. Would be back here on regular basis if I lived here.
My go to place! Staff are always amazing! Food is always delicious! Chris makes an amazing by the campfire martini
My family and I went to The Fort Steakhouse before a show at the Sunrise Theater. We ordered off the Sunset Menu that they have from 4:30pm-5:30pm everyday. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. Our Server was Angela and she was excellent, I will definitely be coming back! I can’t recommend the Bacon and Gouda Mac and cheese and Spinach Rockafeller enough. They are two sides we decided to order to all split and they were amazing😍 Definitely the place to come for an Anniversary, Birthday or Special Occasion.
Absolutely awesome and the staff was great. We had a blast.
I have been meaning to write a review for a while on how much I love this place. Whenever I come to visit my family from NY I always try to come here on my trip. It has become tradition and such a treat. The food is always delicious and I really appreciate all the attention to detail from the food presentation, high end restaurant decor, to the service. One of our favorite family times has become coming here for drinks, the charcuterie board and some appetizers and we always have such a great time, especially when we sit in the patio and pretend we are on a little European vacation haha. I truly believe this is one of the best restaurants in the area and Fort Pierce is so lucky to have this place.
Wonderful dining experience. First time visiting. Excellent food and service. The staff was attentive, and gracious making sure we were completely satisfied. Our new favorite restaurant.
Everything was absolutely delicious from the drinks to the sear on the steak, the service was impeccable, kind, and very attentive. We had a great time celebrating my birthday 🎂 and it was the perfect ambiance to. The ambiance is rustic Texas like felt. The bone marrow was succulent, flavor beyond, the steak was spot on and the mushrooms I ordered as a side were perfect. Thank you.
Found this place on accident. It was the best accident I have ever made. The dining experience was amazing. Food was so delicious and prepared perfectly. The staff was impeccable and had so many great food suggestions. I live in Tampa but I will drive the 3 hours again just to eat here.
We had the most amazing Anniversary dinner! Our waitress was top notch, Julie Ann S. She knew about every meal, she was funny and she was very attentive to our needs, which really wasn’t any since she was so on top of it all. The other staff were also very warm, welcoming and helpful. The food was so flavorful and delicious! Plus, we put a beautiful anniversary desert, which was also so so so tasty!
We celebrated our anniversary at The Fort. The service was great, friendly and attentive. They had a good selection of Italian wines to choose from among a larger wine menu. I ordered the petite steak with scallops which was cooked perfectly. My husband had the chateaubriand which was very tender. We both loved the mushrooms as a side. The staff was very sweet in bringing us champagne and chocolate mousse to celebrate our 9 years together. We also ordered the chocolate cake which was amazing. We really enjoyed our dinner here.
We went on our anniversary and we had a great experience. The prices have come down which was a reason why we returned. The service and food were excellent. Duck cooked perfectly to my liking over sweet potatoes, and filet mignon (overcooked, but they immediately made it right). Entree is a la carte but the side dish is a large portion to share. Not a place to go weekly because it is still pricey, but a great place for special occasions.
Absolutely 💯 lovely place to dine in, our host Cynthia was simply the bestest and catered to us tremendously. The good was delicious and well flavored
My husband and I ate here to celebrate his birthday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite intimate and romantic, a wonderful spot for a date night. Our server Julia went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. In fact the dress I wore was made of a sequin material. My napkin must have slipped off my lap onto the floor 3 times and every single time someone was attentive and fetched me a clean napkin immediately. Their specialty cocktails are phenomenal. We tried several of them including the Floridian, and the coconut mojito. The only negative thing I can say is that the bar tender was slow. Our server had to light a fire under his butt several times to get the drinks we ordered. We ordered the oysters and crab cake for an appetizer. The oysters were the best, most fresh and clean oysters I have ever had. The crab cake was huge and the crab meat was tender and delicious. For dinner my husband had the waygu sirloin (the evenings special) and I had the petite filet with crab stuffed shrimp. Our steaks were some of the best we have ever had. Cooked to perfection and so tender you could have cut it with a butter knife. The creamed spinach was also unbelievably indulgent. To wrap up our evening we had the chocolate torte and creme brulee, both delectable. Thank you for making our date night for my husband's birthday magical. We will absolutely be back!
Wonderful place. Steak was spot on and the scallop special appetizer was yummy. Scallop and steak cooked perfect. The escargot was different than expected but also a delicious appetizer. Our server Angela was awesome.
Last night we spent our wedding anniversary at Braford and it was absolutely the best meal my husband and i have ever had. My husband had the Byson (medium) and i had the filet (medium rare). Both pieces of meat were cooked to perfection. The meat came with an amazing salad that had a green goddess dressing and some rosemary cheesy bread. The sides are good for 2 people. We ended up having the scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese and roasted brussel sprouts which had an amazing taste of balsamic. The service was impeccable. There was someone to get you what you needed at all times, they even got you refills of items before you were done with the first. My experience will be one to remember and i will deff tell everyone i know and i will be back!! Thank you!
Absolutely amazing meal from the clams and onion soup app to the Meatloaf, Scallops and Grass Fed Cowboy Steak 🥩. Along with cheesecake and strawberry shortcake for desert. Could not have been any better. And definitely try the steak sauce. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess Samantha through the unbelievably awesome service by Tom our server it was truly outstanding. Looking forward to our next visit already and we are not even home.
Had a Birthday celebration!! It was wonderful!! Thank you so much for the great service. Our waitress was new to your establishment she was very educated to all the specials and was a great sport to celebrate with us!!
Fine dining food and service without the fine dining stuffiness in a cool, hip, relaxed atmosphere. Prices are very fair! The beef is from the local Adams Ranch and prepared to perfection. Everything was delicious!
Hats off to chef Tim and server Andrea! We had a wonderful evening at the Fort. My steak was cooked to perfection, all the salads had a unique spin on the typical - real bonus! And the signature cocktails and desserts are a must!!! - Thank you from your friends in Vero.
Samantha the hostess was very kind and got us seated right away on a night that they were busy, The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable Food was well presented and very good, definitely a Great find.
This restaurant is excellent. It is what you expect from a great restaurant. Service was perfect. Meals prepared to perfection. We will be returning again.
This was the most amazing dining experience. The staff were above par profession. The highest complement to our server Roger. Really knowledgable on not just the menu but the quality of ingredients. Absolutely amazing!
We had the most wonderful dinner experience this evening. Best dining experience ever!! Epitome of fine dining. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted and treated like family. Let me say that I am now spoiled forever as to how a restaurant should treat their customers. If you are looking for intimate, exquisite, fine dining… The Fort is the place! Everything about this lovely restaurant is 5 star. The drinks were also the finest crafted drinks I have ever had. Tom makes the best whisky sour EVER!!! If the staff is able to see this, i would like to give all of you a big thank you for the best meal of my life. And look forward to seeing you all again! Thank you Mary for taking care of us and I will definitely be requesting Mary at table 44. See you soon at my favorite table 44.
Food is fantastic and presented well. Our server, Kelly, was a so personable and had great suggestions. The Fort Steakhouse neat place to eat.
We enjoyed a lovely anniversary dinner experience with Mary as our waitress. I had an EXCELLENT Salmon and my husband had a 16 ounce Del Monico steak. The food was delicious and the service was top rank. Thank you for a lovely experience The Fort Steakhouse.
My fiancé and I came here last night for our anniversary. The food was incredible and our server Kelly did an amazing job and helped make our night very special. Definitely will be returning!
Nice little spot in downtown Ft Pierce. Plenty of parking on the street and parking lot that is close. Very friendly service, very attentive and informed on the menu, food was good, portions are quite large. Many options for dining as well as drinks. This is a more expensive place but the amount and quality of food are fair for the price.
I had the pleasure of dining at Fort Steak House in Fort Pierce, and I can confidently say it’s a top-notch dining establishment. The food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was equally impressive, with Cintia providing attentive and friendly assistance that enhanced the overall experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for both casual and special occasions. I highly recommend Fort Steak House for anyone seeking a superior dining experience in Fort Pierce.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and fantastic service! We went on Christmas Eve for the first time ever and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals! The Delmonico was cooked to perfection and the mac and cheese was amazing! Ashley was our server and she was a complete gem!!! Definitely will return, without a doubt!!!
I gave my kids a gift card for Christmas and your restrantant did not disappoint. They came home last night 1/29/2026 and said food was outstanding and service too. Daughter said she go back just to get dessert. There steak and shrimp dinner was awsome too. Thank you.
The Fort Steakhouse is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in Fort Pierce. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, with top-notch service that made us feel welcome right away. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection — juicy, flavorful, and expertly seasoned. Every dish we ordered, from the appetizers to dessert, was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The cocktail menu and wine selection were also impressive and paired perfectly with the meal. If you're looking for a high-quality steakhouse with a refined vibe and outstanding food, The Fort is it. A true gem in downtown Fort Pierce — we’ll definitely be returning!
It was good. Not the best steak I ever had by any means, but it was a solid piece of meat. The salmon my wife had was good. No complaints about the meal, but it was Ruth Chris prices and it wasn’t as good as Ruth Chris. That being said the service was great and they got us in on a Saturday night with no reservations leaving a show, so the service pushes them squarely into 4 star territory.
Had a lovely dinner at The Fort, and recommend for a special occasion. For starters we had had tuna tartar, a pile of small diced sashimi. I really enjoyed this and I am not a sushi/sashimi eater. I ordered the escargot served on a slice of their homemade bread with melted cheese and a wonderful sauce. as appetizers. Both were fantastic with nice presentation. Husband had 20oz KC steak and even after sharing brought about 1/3 home. It was grilled to a perfect medium rare-so tender. Added with truffle butter (meh, would not get again) carmelized onion (again meh, not what I call carmelized, but instead mushy) and mushrooms(yum!!!!!) I had the Lobster Trio, DeliciOus Main lobsters, no need for more explanation, but they served it swimming in a broth and I was NOT happy, so moved it to another plate. They don’t offer a surf and turf per se , so we shared our meals. Skip the cocktails, overpriced for run of the mill for $16. My husband enjoyed their porter beer on tap. Save room for the bourbon bacon brownie for dessert.. oh my. Our server Julianne was attentive and explained the menu and the specials. She has an outstanding knowledge of the menu and did not steer us wrong. It’s pricy but food was mostly exceptional. One major complaint- it took us a while to really read the menu and decide on courses and extras for your steak are all ala carte, so when we were basically asked to leave because of an incoming reservation, needless to say we were not happy! $440 with tip for a 2 person dining experience in no way shape or form can be rushed… so, to management -plan accordingly! Sit your waiting party at the bar and give them a free drink .. there were other ways to handle this. Totally inappropriate!
The food was absolutely delicious. Service was great. Atmosphere was A+. The prices are insane though. $150 Steak and you have to purchase your vegetable separately. At 12a Bouy you can get an amazing Surf and Turf for $100 and sides are included. 12a's food is the exact same quality/taste at a better value. I just feel the food was overpriced based on other competing restaurants.
The bread was so good with their butter mix. The steak was great! Good quality filet and we had it Pittsburgh style (charred on the outside). The atmosphere was nice and had a good vibe. Our server was great.
I'm reluctant to be honest here, because I know locals will be defensive, but realistically it isn't "fine dining". The service was ok, but a bit confusing and colloquial. Training from a real pro would benefit everyone. The loud echo in the dining room would also benefit from some work on sound deadening. Carpet, and quality table cloths would help. This would also help bring up the feeling of a fine dining atmosphere. That said, I'd go back because it was pretty good. Everyone was friendly, and most (not our server) tried to help us in getting things we needed in the way our table wanted. The young lady who kept our water full and table clean was a highlight. She had a great sense of humor and was delightful.
The Bad - I arrived at this restaurant with high hopes, only to be disappointed by the steaks. Despite ordering six steaks - five cooked to medium and one well done—we were dismayed to find all of them overcooked. A glance into the open kitchen revealed our steaks left on warmers, likely contributing to their further cooking, while waiting for the one well-done steak. It's surprising for a steak-focused establishment to miss the mark on such a fundamental aspect. Furthermore, the steaks were noticeably lacking in seasoning. Tne Great! - However, the other dishes we tried exceeded our expectations. The Squid Steak and the Dirty Oysters were fresh and delicious. The sides, particularly the Brussels Sprouts and Truffle Fries, were superb! The desserts, including the Creme Brulee and Apple Bread Pudding, were nothing short of extraordinary. Our server, Pamela "Frenchie," provided delightful and attentive service, earning a solid five stars for her customer care. While I may not return for the steaks, the outstanding customer service and other delectable menu items make this restaurant worth another visit.
Visiting Fort Pierce. While walking my 16 pound Papillion I stopped by the restaurant Hostess outside and asked about pets and was advised they were allowed on the patio in back of the restaurant. The restaurant was recommended to us as excellent food, service, and relatively expensive. Came back the next day with my wife and the dog in a stroller and asked if I could take a quick look at the patio, while they waited outside. It was about 3 pm and they open at 4:30 pm. The hostess was inside and asked what appeared to be the man in charge if it was OK. He replied they were moving or preparing tables and she couldn't show me the patio. Can you guess where my family and guests won't be eating? By the way, when I stepped in the door, there were several people standing at the bar talking and the man in charge was the only one doing an activity. Many patios are next to streets or noisy areas and it's always prudent to check the location. I thought it was better to do than walking through a busy restaurant after it opens.
As locals, my partner and I have always heard great things about Fort Steakhouse. After seeing all the consistent five-star reviews, we were really excited to finally try it. We were seated right away for our 7:30 slot, but unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The Atmosphere The restaurant looks lovely, but the seating arrangement was a major letdown. We were squeezed in inches away from two other couples. If you’re hoping for a quiet, intimate meal, this isn't the spot. All we could hear was the table next to us, which definitely made the experience feel more awkward than upscale. The Food Missed the Mark The main issue was the quality of the food, which simply didn't match the price tag. We both ordered filet mignons. Mine, ordered medium, arrived looking more like medium-well. I didn't want to complain about a small error, but a few bites in, I realized it was extremely dried out and totally unseasoned. Based on my experience in fine dining, a scorching hot plate usually means the dish sat too long under a heat lamp, and that’s a death sentence for a lean cut like filet. The Cajun Papa Frites were just as bad. They should have that perfect contrast of a crispy outside and a fluffy inside, but they were hard as a rock all the way through—another clear sign they were held under a heat lamp too long. To top it off, they were completely unseasoned, too. I even asked one of the servers that was filling our waters if they were supposed to be that hard, and she casually said, "Yeah, that's my least favorite on the menu." That's not what you want to hear at a five-star place. Service and Value The service was okay—it was a team effort with multiple people filling water and clearing plates. However, when we got the bill, we paid $320 with the tip, and honestly, I was shocked. A restaurant charging these premium prices shouldn't be making such fundamental mistakes with the cooking and seasoning. In short, Fort Steakhouse has a beautiful setting, but the close seating and, more importantly, the poor execution of the food made this a highly disappointing and overpriced experience.
I really wanted to love this place, but sadly I won’t be going back. The worst part about that is I don’t think they did anything wrong… I just don’t think this place is good. The positive was the service! It was fine dinning service for sure! We were sat at a table that was probably the most awkwardly placed table I’ve ever seen! But it was raining and our outdoor reservation had to be squeezed inside, so I wasn’t going to complain. However, they moved us to a much nicer table without us even asking or complaining. I was very impressed by that move from the management at front of house! Our waitress name was Andrea and she was also amazing. Our drinks were never empty, everything was attended to perfectly. Again, zero issues with the staff or the service. The low star count comes from the food sadly. When you go out for a nice dinner, spend $245 for two (no alcohol was purchased) and you can make better at home? It’s a disappointment. We started with the smoked Gouda and tomato bisque and it was amazing, the highlight of the meal really. My wife ordered the filet tip Gorgonzola gnocchi… sounded AMAZING on the menu but was so overloaded with Gorgonzola, that was all you could taste, and after 4 bites the Gorgonzola flavor was so strong that it was almost unpalatable. I ordered the 90 dollar KC dry aged strip, ordered medium rare. It came medium to medium well, and lacked ALL seasoning. No salt was used in cooking this meal at all. The steak tasted like I was licking the grill grates. The spicey house steak sauce saved the steak, but when I’m paying $90 for just a steak, it better not need a sauce and be cooked right. Since my $90 steak didn’t come with sides I ordered the smothered potatoes and fig Brussels as my sides. The Brussels were good, but again, the potatoes lacked any and all seasoning, and whatever sauce was on them tasted off or sour. We ate three bites and didn’t touch them the rest of the dinner. We finished with the bread pudding which wasn’t a bread pudding at all. It was an apple cobbler/apple pie. Now, it tasted great, and the meal ended on a high note because of it…. But it wasn’t a bread pudding. 2 out of 5 is all that’s deserved here considering the price and quality of food are so far off from each other. The only reason it’s not a 1 is because of the amazing staff that helped us and waited on us.
So I debated between 2 & 3 stars because of the food. The atmosphere was good & our server was nice, but I can't eat those. The food was very much lacking. We got the Shrimp Scampi, which fell flat. The Salmon was also lacking. It seemed to have seasoning but tasted very blan. The little bit of garnish was ok & the green sauce on top should have been left off. Now the chicken was juicy & the little bit of sauce on it was delicious. However the Cream Corn Souffle was nasty & also should have been left off. They can actually take it off the menu in my opinion. I thought I was about to eat a really creamy mash potato was very disappointed. I was excited to go & for the food but was disappointed because everything packed flavor. I wanted to go back & try there partner restaurant The Fort Social but feeling like a pass.
Saturday at 5p. No Tomahawk steak or Duck available! It's why we came. The steak for $65 12oz was very bland. Virtually no seasoning. We had 7 drinks for 4 of us. That pushed the bill to $400. But very disappointing that the tomahawk was not available! Service was good. Food so/so. We're learning that we can cook a better steak at home...
Perhaps we caught The Fort on a bad night, or maybe the fact that we like our steaks medium or medium well was the problem. We started with the steak tips fondue. The waiter informed us that it comes medium rare. We asked for slightly more done. He seemed offended and said he can't make any guarantees. We started looking at other appetizers and he said not to worry he'd get it right. Well, it was very wrong. The steak tips were burned to a crisp. We could barely chew them and they were hard. Should have sent them back but we don't like to complain. Next I wanted a ribeye, but no ribeye on the menu. So I got the Porterhouse. Again, overcooked and absolutely no seasoning, I couldn't even taste any salt. My friend got the Salmon, it was ok. The best thing I had all night was the baked potato. Server was professional but unfriendly. I'll be back on the trail for a good steakhouse somewhere in the area. May have to drive to Stuart or Vero.
