They're really fast but even though they have the food ready really quickly it all tastes really good! They also have good proper rice. Everything I've had so far is a good portion. I don't super love the rice-bun thing personally but it's done well even though it's not my thing. But the rice bowls are great, and I like the one that comes with a salad. I've eaten here quite a few times and they're consistently good.
I love this restaurant food concept - fusion maybe if I have to describe it? The rice bun is a good concept as well. I ordered kamikaze fries and rice bowl ribs without any additions or taking out anything for the first time so I have a gauge on how I wanted to customize my next order. The rib flavor is good - it's on a sweet side (you might not be a fan or prefer your ribs with different flavor or more umami taste but I don't mind and I like their ribs how it is). The brown rice with furikake is great option for rice. The meat size, how it's all cut - is proportion for bite sizes which is nice. Basically the bowl concept has meat, rice, greens, and kimchi - I think for me it's a good healthy balance: I have my carbs, meat, green, and side. The fries has good flavor (a bit spicy for me - but that's me. Some prefer it spicy). The meat to fries ratio is enough to enjoy the flavor. In regards to proportion and price - everyone has different standard on these so I'll let you decide on how you define these after you tried yours. Highly recommend to give Koja a try. Kudos Koja for using environmental friendly take out box!
My girlfriend took me there. Food was good simple and tasty! Went for the bowls this time. Very good! The lemonade is refreshing. The prices were surprisingly reasonable!! The beer was ice cold!! Nice place to eat inside or on their patio. Room for a " Big Guy" to sit comfortable!! Will be going back soon! Service was great too.
The food was really good. The beef bowl, bulgogi burger, and kids chicken teriyaki were what we ordered and everyone loved their food. We were there Saturday night and sat outside to hear the saxophonist play live. And the woman who took our orders was really friendly.
Koja Kitchen's long awaited opening has arrived! I have visited this location twice since opening. The staff are all very friendly, and are open to giving recommendations. I usually order the original koja and some DMZ wings! If you like spicy, I totally recommend the wings. I also really like the kamikaze fries, but make sure to ask for extra sauce!
Workers and owners here are so nice, and the place is always a great environment. My favorite go to place for lunch :)
Fast healthy Korean food is the best way to describe it. The service was fast and friendly. Chicken bowl came with a good portion of mixed green and a bowl of rice topped with black sesame sprinkles. I avoided most of the rice, but the chicken the sauce and the mixed greens were excellent. The meat seemed marinated and ready to go. The food comes in a paper basket, but I didn't mind one but. I will definitely try their other dishes soon.
Criminally underrated place in Fremont. No matter how busy it is outside it’s never quite as busy in here. I used to go to the San Mateo location a lot so I know how good the food is. Korean Mexican American fusion is unbelievably satisfying on so many levels This time I came in and got their fried chicken sandwich which was brined in sake Hands on one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in my life. Now this is not an exaggeration or some sort of superlative. It really is that good. If only the good people of Fremont would venture to expand their taste buds
Yes ... 😁Wishere is one of these in Cupertino that we used to go to all the time. Then they split their space with another place, and they took away the tacos that I really liked. Now I'm seeing the Cupertino location is closed. Bummer. But I have a new job, and I'm right around the corner from this one, and I've already been here a bunch of times. And they have the chicken and beef and pork tacos I like so much. 👍👍👍 And the staff are very quick and friendly. Wish I could get their wifi to work on my phone though. 😁
Drive by this place often, but never gave it a chance until today. Ordered the braised pork Koja and the Kamikaze Fries, both were super yummy! Kamikaze Fries had a nice spicy kick to them and the pork Koja was a nice take on a fusion burger that I’ve never experienced before! Nice clean restaurant, can’t wait to come back and try different items from the menu!
Delicious! I doordashed this place twice in the same week it was so good. The beef was cooked to perfection and the sauce was so tasty! These loaded fries were fantastic!
I was very impressed with the flavor and quality of food. I also like how there was an option to order through their touch screen monitor or have a live person take your order, who was also available and helping in the dining room. I had the crispy chicken burger and would definitely go back just for that again. I look forward to trying other delicious items froms their menu.
I ordered the short rib bowl, which is the most popular in the bowl section per the staff. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. Of course, I had to narrow it down to one dish. The meat was tender and had lots of flavor. It went well with the Kimchi. There's no table service so the flow is you order @ the counter, then they'll give you a pager. To pick up your order, it'll be ready on the side, near the beverage machine. They serve beer too! There's many large screen TV's so every seat is great one. Also, there's patio seating too! Great find, we'll be back!
The best rice burger i've ever had. The meat is perfectly cooked and sauce complements the burger well. The red sauce and umami fries are also a must try. I'd definitely come back and bring friends.
Very unique asian fusion style burgers. They have the teriyaki chicken beef and bulgogi. Everything tastes great, sweet and spicy. Great portion for the price too. Much try the rice bun burger!
This place will definitely make our regular rotation of go to's to eat at in Fremont. We tried a pork bowl, the original Koja sandwich with beef and the Kamikaze fries. All were full of flavor and had different flavor profiles. The staff was attentive and friendly. The drink options were a little disappointing, but the food is worth it.
Fantastic Korean/Japanese spot! Clean dining area, friendly employees, fast service, reasonable prices. Super tasty food! Only criticism is the fries could be a little more fried. Definitely coming back, looking forward to trying more of the menu.
Came here 10 mins before closing time and folks behind the counter were so nice and accommodating. Food was great too and definitely hit the spot. Highly recommend 👍🏼
pretty good. i used a self service kiosk and did not tip. what do people think about that ?
I’ve been a huge fan of Koja kitchen for many years now. And the Fremont location does not disappoint! The food is consistently fresh and delicious made with care. Perfect portions. I highly recommend Koja kitchen in Fremont.

Food here is just delicious. Their Chicken Katsu, nestled over leafy greens with Rice and a few slices of pickled radish is my new favorite. Is it the sauce? The crispy yet tender chicken? Who knows, I just love this dish!

I love Koja kitchen! With this location, they have chunks of short rib instead of small pieces. I like the sauce and how they top it off with fish roe. The kamikaze fries are bomb. Also I noticed they have buns too for the burgers not just the rice kind.
Everytime I go to Koja Kitchen, it's bc I'm craving some Kamikaze fries, or the pictures of it pull me in. I decided to fulfill the craving and also try the umami fries, ahi tuna bowl, and signature spam musubi. Kamikaze fries: 5/5, will always recommend. Umami fries: 5/5, had pork instead of beef. Ahi tuna bowl: 4/5, sauce had a lil more wasabi taste than preferred. Signature spam musubi: 3/5. Basic, your usual musubi w extra tamago and avocado but lacking special/signature flavor. Also mine didn't have any bacon in it as described. Will always return for a waffle fry craving! The other items are okay. Plenty of parking, walk in and order at the cashier, hold onto your vibrator number until it goes off, self serve, fast food. I did try to squirt some sriracha into a small paper cup but then the whole lid blew off and it was just me and a cup's worth of Sriracha on the counter for me to clean up. Kitchen staff didn't understand what my issue was (language?); cashier went somewhere. Good thing I didn't hold the bottle directly over my food.
First time customer - tried the Original Koja burger with 'rice buns'; wanted fries with that and was recommended the Cali fries. With a 15% tip it came to around $19. The burger was great and had a good amount of meat in it. The fries were good but did not warrant the charge for me. Very friendly staff and the place was kept quite clean. Will try the rice bowl the next time.
Food was great!! Loved the texture and taste. Prepared quickly and priced well. Portion was plentiful and packed with goodness.
The food was much sweeter than Korean food I am used to. The Soju had a bad aftertaste, and I realized later, it was due to the artificial sweetener. Good quality of food. I love Japanese food, but this was not up to my standards. The food looks good. My daughter loved the food, but my wife and I disagree. Service was good.
Overall, Koja Kitchen delivers punchy and extremely flavorful dishes that are a treat for the taste buds. We tried the Original Koja, Teriyaki Zen Koja, Ahi Tuna Bowl, and Beef Bowl. The Beef Bowl was a standout—packed with flavor and perfectly proportioned. I would absolutely order that again! The Ahi Tuna Bowl was good, but the ratio of tuna to salad could have been better; it felt more like I was eating a salad, unlike the well-balanced Beef Bowl. The rice burgers were fairly good, though not out-of-this-world delicious. Koja Kitchen’s fusion concept is definitely fun and different, making it worth a visit if you're looking for something unique and tasty.
Chicken teriyaki is good. Korean buffalo wild wings are yummy. But Koja original isn't that good for me. The rice texture is melt inside but heard outside.

This review is only for the teriyaki burger - rice was great, but the patty tastes bad. The actual food looks different from the picture. It doesn't taste like chicken. more like imitation crab meat... portion was very small.
This place is actually really good, but only when they are busy. When it’s slow, they tend to give you old fries that have been re-fried to make you think they are hot and fresh, which makes them dry and over cooked, easy to tell. I WILL GLADLY WAIT FOR FRESH FRIES. They also sometimes are inconsistent when it comes to the sauce that the chicken for the chicken Koja is tossed in. Sometimes it’s barely a drop of sauce on it, so it’s plain. If you want the real good experience, then go when it’s busy ONLY. You’ll get fresh yummy food.
The braised pork is definitely something that I'd get again. It was tender and melted in your mouth. The rice bun burger my girlfriend got kind of just fell apart though. Ended up being a deconstructed burger. Overall, the food is decent for the price. I'd pay a bit more for a larger portion, or have the option to add more meat.
I got this as delivery and it was pretty alright. I ordered the short rib Koja burger and soy garlic wings, while my friends got their short rib and beef bowls. Their short rib in the koja burger was pretty solid and flavorful, but I did think that their rice buns were really dense. It was also just difficult to eat (as it was so big). My friends thought their bowls were good though! I wish the wings had a bit more sauce, but it was decent. Overall, not a bad spot for some fusion Korean food.

It is original Korean and Japanese combined which is a great idea. Two locations were in San Jose and Cupertino. But the new owners made it the worst. They put Mexican sauce and cracker inside the meals. They also reduced the portion by half; then promoted by 1 get 1. What a shame!

The manager likes to put away the chairs 40 minutes early and won't let you eat inside even before closing.
Stop here to order a meal with passport discount as usual, the lady refuses to grand the discount and stated never had this discount even I show the information through my passport app. This is not honest way to treat customer.
Went to Koja Kitchen for the first time. It was not crowded at all. Should have taken that as a sign of upcoming utter disappointment. Went to order, told the lady that we are here for the first time, to help us with the order. Which she didn't even bother to do. So we place the oder and spent $50. When our food came it was cold, the chicken was cold. I told her that my food was cold. She came up with all the useless and senseless excuses. One was that I must have added the sauce that is why the chicken got cold. I said I didn't even touch the sauce yet. So I stopped there and took only 4 bites. And same my we left our entire food in the tray and throw it. I was so excited to go after reading the reviews. Great disappointment!! Never ever again!! I wish I could get my money back or rewind the time and go to a better place that never disappoints like Habit Burger or The Kabab Shop!
Workers just laughing in the back with no attendance in the front, I see there is, self service machines but no customer service to be found. Lastly the front door was locked had to walk around to find another door even with a notification that someone has entered, still no worker stepped out. Very upset decided to walk out instead of taking the risk of getting the food made by poor effort
Unfortunately they skimp on the meat portion 100%... Tons of rice and kimchi and lettuce with 3 4 small pieces of chicken
