I've been a customer for few yrs. The food is GOOD. If your looking to try out vegetarian/vegan food or simply looking for a new place to try, give this place a shot. Just keep in mind its take-out only due to covid, It's a complete "contact less" transaction & the food is left on a table for pick-up when your order is ready.
慈悲喜捨 色香味全 🙏👍 Amazing Vegan self-service atmosphere! A small place with a peaceful and simple setting! The service is very friendly! Lots of Free Buddhist circulations for all ages! Amitabha🙏
Don't attempt to interact with the staff working in the restaurant. Your order and any of your questions should be directed to the videochat set up straight back and to the left of the entrance. Credit card and cash payments are DIY on the table directly in front of the videochat. Once you get used to the arrangement, you'll be fine. Great vegan interpretations of traditional dishes. Reasonable prices.
I have never had vegan, wouldn't convert to veganism but I will admit the food wasnt as bad as I assumed. The crispy veg duck had the same consistency and texture as actual meat but there is definitely a difference. Walking in I ordered from a girl behind a laptop screen, odd experience. All transactions were handled that way.
Delicious vegan food :) the portions are really good too! The owner seemed very sweet and friendly. Would love to come back again to try some other dishes!
I've been coming to Amitabha since it opened and I love the variety of dishes. The food is always fresh and yummy. The mock chicken dishes and mapo tofu are probably my favorite, as they are full of authentic flavors. The service is quick and I was so glad they reopened in the last month. They are a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
very tasty food and big portions for a low price. The Cedar dishes are amazing; you do not miss the onions and garlic and I usually put that in everything I cook. So glad to have a 100% vegan restaurant in Qns since Green Zen closed down.
This restaurant is amazing!!! The food is excellent and always fresh. The prices are very reasonable and portions are large. My family and I order from this place many times per month. The food is super healthy and delicious. My favorite dishes are the vege chicken and broccoli and tofu noodle soup. Great vegan and vegetarian restaurant in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place. The owner, Ms. Dong, is always friendly and welcoming which creates a very nice atmosphere for the restaurant.
Humble seating area, has a bathroom! The food is always fresh and delicious. Large portions and reasonable pricing keep us coming back.
I love this restaurant! The owner is so sweet to me. When she sees me she runs and gets me tea as she knows it’s my favorite. The Pumpkin soup is my favorite and I really love the vegetable roast bbq pork. I eat it all the time. Please come visit this place. You will not be disappointed.
Went here for my birthday the other day and the food was good, the owner was very personable and kind. I'll definitely go her again. I really enjoy Buddhist food.
I came here on Saturday and found the food to be quite tasty.
I have been ordering from this place about 3-4 months and I have to say after trying just about everything on the menu that this place really offers a great selection of extremely delicious dishes. You get a mix of classic american Chinese dishes and more traditional dishes and flavors. Most of my friends who have tried it are usually shocked that the menu is fully vegan and end up loving it. Give them a shot and im sure you'll love it.
Delicious food and reasonably priced compared to most vegan food in the city. We’ve eaten here multiple times both staying in and take out and have never had any issues with wrong orders or anything. The staff are very kind and patient.
Great food. I ordered pick up, and it was no-contact. You walk in and there’s a person on a videocall on the computer up front who tells you which order is yours. Pretty unusual but makes sense. Their vegan “pork” is really good!
We received their menu in the mail recently. As mostly vegan vegetarians we were eager to try them and finally had lunch there today. The food is delicious with great portions, the staff is friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back 😊
Amithabha restaurant recently opened and it is already one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant is 100% vegan, and the dishes are delicious and well thought out, most originating from the Fujian region of southeast China and Taiwan. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is delightful, with a meticulously clean wooden interior and calming music playing in the background. When I walk in, I feel as if I have walked into a peaceful oasis. The owner, who is a Buddhist, has been a practicing vegan for many years and, as she told us, sees it as her mission to feed people food which will make them healthy and happy. I almost regret writing a review because I would like to keep this place as my little secret!
WOW!!! I got the pumpkin soup w/ fresh mushrooms & let me tell you EVERY SINGLE SPOONFUL was pure ECSTASY!! Probably looked like a lunatic moaning and throwing my hands up in the air as I ate it in the park. Crispy duck was absolutely fantastic as well - love all the variety of veggies that come with it - a real treat!! Can’t recommend this place enough!!
Great food and great customer service. The portions are generous and we have tried and enjoyed a number of dishes here. The owners are clearly invested in providing a good experience and it's nice to have another vegan option.
We picked up food to take home earlier this afternoon. Everything was great. The MaPo Tofu was very unusual and excellent. The Hot and Sout soup was tasty and the sesame beef was great. We're glad we found this place and we'll be back again.
This is mostly a to go place. There are about 4 tables. The food is EXCELLENT!!! I am so very happy as a vegetarian to have a place to get such good quality flavorful food!!! The atmosphere is peaceful and calming and not at all fancy...I didn't give a rating for atmosphere because there is no decor but I enjoyed eating there.
First time ordering from here and tried a couple of items. Ordered at 7:45pm and order didn’t come until 9:06pm… was a bit annoyed but one taste of the food and all was forgotten. Honestly the food is amazing. Tried the salt and pepper mushroom appetizer and the duck soup with thin noodles. The flavors in both dishes were incredible and we have been looking for a great vegan place. We will be long time big customers! :)
I just finished having dinner with my family from this restaurant. We had the crispy duck, the roasted pork & the chicken fried rice. Everything was excellent! The flavor and mouth feel of the duck was just right. The roasted pork tasted almost exactly like real boneless roasted pork. My father in-law couldn't tell it was vegan. The chicken fried rice very very good. On top of the great tasting food, the owner is very sweet and provides excellent service. This place has quickly become a family favorite. Keep up the great work! We'll be ordering regularly for sure.
So thankful my friend discovered this place a day after it opened n insisted we go together this past Sunday. From the moment we entered n were greeted by the owner we felt welcome. It was obvious she genuinely cared about us being comfortable n enjoying a delicious healthy meal. I went with a dish she recommended n was very pleased, both mine n my friends dishes were delicious . Even though she kept apologizing for her bad English, we had a great conversation about compassion empathy n eating n living healthy. Highly recommend this establishment n look forward to many return visits. I wish her n her staff much success.
Finally delicious vegan Chinese cuisine! Tried this place for the 1st time this past weekend. You walk in and order from a computer. They call you when your order is ready and then you come back and pay and pick up your order. The food is so good and fresh and reasonably priced. I especially loved the salt and pepper mushrooms. I definitely will be back!
It was strange ordering to a lovely lady on a laptop screen. The food was good and they have books you can have for free, I made a donation of $20 in addition to the price of the meal to compensate for the books I took which I'm sure cost money to print. Very good experience for me.
The food here is amazing, especially the vegan duck. I've loved everything I've had so far as I make my way through the menu. Sometimes the order takes a long time but it always worth it.
Absolutely delicious food! I was surprised how good and filling this vegan spot is. Their general tso vegan dish is better than many of the places serving it with chicken. Just be warned: the virtual reception might freak you out, otherwise everything else is perfect.
Very good food, very humble people, there is some stuff that can be improved but overall food is good and tasty. There are tons of delicious vegan options, basically the best and only vegan restaurant in the area.
Excellent place for food that is served with a smile and a warm heart.... delicious vegan food that is worth trying out. We tried 7 to 8 different varieties and they were all tasty. Try it out and leave me a like comment if you enjoy it!!!!! Happy eating
Portions are very good especially for the price. The food is flavorful and largely well cooked, sometimes the proteins can be a little dried out but that's also vegan cooking in general. If they used onions and garlic, I would give it five stars for sure
This restaurant caters to a niche audience of vegetarian diners, and the dishes replicate their meat-based equivalents well. The interior has a striking decor and authentic feel. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The entire menu is vegetarian-friendly and should be accommodating for those who eat kosher and with dietary restrictions. Recommended dishes are Won Ton Soup, General Tso's Chicken, Singapore Mei Fun, and Sauteed Mixed Vegetables. Would highly recommend.
We have eaten here four times, twice before the pandemic and twice in the past 2 weeks (takeout). This is excellent kosher vegan asian food. Portion sizes are large and the food is well prepared and tasty. Pick up is easy. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Getting food from here on Christmas Eve was a great decision tbh. Everything is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is just So Nice. I recommend the mushroom roll and the crispy beancurd(?) dish. We also got burgers and fries - my vegan friend and I (an omnivore) were very happy with them. I will absolutely be ordering again.
I searched yelp for recommendations on vegan food and this place was one of many. I walked in to find the dining area to be neat and tidy, they have a good selection of books if you want to take home to read. The Asian decor is attractive a peaceful. I'm not found if virtual customer service but I will say that I am impressed with the virtual hostess as this is my first experience at a restaurant! I'm really new to vegan and I am so amazed at the variety that I'm getting. It's so different and new.
The food is exceptional. The chef on staff is growing ingredients out of her personal garden. The energy she is putting into her food is felt. All items felt like nourishment. GET THE CEDER FRIED RICE. IT IS LIFE CHANGING. She harvests from her five tall ceder trees in her garden. It is earthy deliciousness. Not too oily. So satiating. I look forward to the day I try it again. The King Mushroom Entree is unbelievable. The fried pork/Seiten is fried and crispy. Kind of like fried pork skin. The sushi is OK. Great price for veggie sushi. All the vegetables are cooked to perfection. Not overcooked. Vegetarian and Vegan dream. The atmosphere is dominated by the Hostess stand, who is all virtual. You are recorded on camera if you stay in. While it feels strange to stay, and the food is delivered in take out containers, the food is so much better fresh than I imagine delivered. The freshness of the food, being able to sit anywhere, I would go and dine in again, despite the weird virtual vibe. Very affordable organic eating. 10/10!
Such a cool spot and each dish was so delicious! It’s a meditative space and the food is wholesome. The chef is kind and you can feel her positive energy poured into the food!
The vegan kung pao chicken was delicious, as was the miso soup and hot and sour soup. I ordered brown rice. The chef was very friendly and gave me so much food! The restaurant was clean and the price affordable. The next time I’m in Queens, for sure I’ll return.
This small unassuming family run restaurant has delicious homemade vegan food. It was a lovely experience speaking to the kind woman who makes the food. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.. Also, thank you for the books.
This is the best vegan Chinese restaurant in all of Queens. My favorite dish is taro and mushroom soup. I remember once I was down with a sore throat the soup was tasty and curative. Now this is my go to dish at Amitabha vegan. You can find it anywhere. Also wonton soup is amazing as well.
NAMASTE 🙏. AMITABA🙏 I've been visiting & eating @ this AMAZING VEGAN ESTABLISHMENT/RESTAURANT for the past 4yrs. As a PROUD BORN VEGETARIAN, from GUYANA, (THANKS TO MY PARENTS), I'M EXTREMELY HAPPY FINDING THIS VEGAN ESTABLISHMENT, AS THE OWNER IS AMAZINGLY ADORABLE & HUMBLE.... WHILE THE FOODS ARE GREAT & DELICIOUS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AMITABA VEGAN RESTAURANT. I RECENTLY BOUGHT FOODS, SAT & ATE THERE, AS I EXPERIENCED AMAZING SERVICES FILL WITH ADORABLE WARMTH FROM THE OWNER & CHEF. SO WASTE NO TIME. SHE FIRED THE BAD EMPLOYEE.
Delightful food and an equally delightful staff! The atmosphere was incredibly calm and all the staff workers were very kind, warm, polite and helpful. I ordered the (Vegan) General Tso's Chicken & the Duck with spring rolls and dumplings. Portion sizes were quite generous, especially on the veggie side of things. Awesome bang for your buck. Clean ingredients all around, nothing heavy. Distinct flavor while also being subtle and not overpowering. Unique hearty textures. As a bonus, there's a lot of reading material available if you want to boost your enlightenment education and the books are free if you'd like to take any readings with you. As other reviews have stated, you do place your order with someone virtually, like a teams/zoom call, so be prepared for that. All in all, A+ experience and I would definitely return here. Maybe the sweetest crew I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Always love having a serene dining experience with delicious, light food!
I’ve been wanting to try this vegetarian restaurant. When I walked in, I was totally unaware that the hostess and waiter would be virtual and seen on a tv screen at the front of restaurant. I heard someone say hello. I had no idea where the person was initially. Just wish there was something on door or something indicating the non presence of a live person. Once order was placed I found a table. The food took some time to come out. While I waited a delivery driver came in and was looking for a person. I told him go to tv screen to order. Once my food was ready, I was told my order was ready. Plates and other utensils were by screen. When I paid I went to screen to check out and I paid on a tablet. The mixed vegetables were excellent. The miso soup was ok
This is my favorite and go-to vegan Chinese spot in the surrounding Queens area. The owner and her family are so gracious and too humble. As for the food it’s fire top shelf and the way you order there is fun because they have a virtual Cashier. It’s mainly a takeout spot, but you can dine in and I highly highly recommend this spot! Try the General Tso’s Bean curd, Sautéed String bean, Wonton soup, Duck skin, all their sushi rolls when available and the pepper and salt King mushroom. Enjoy!
I've been looking for a vegan restaurant in Fresh Meadows so I'm super grateful for Amitabha Vegan. I had their curry veggie chicken, vegetarian duck, vegan sesame general tso, and tofu. The average dish is around $10-$15 but the portion size were large and I was able to save any of their dishes as leftovers for tomorrow. The menu has a variety of asian food like vegan pad thai to vegan indian pancakes with curry sauce. My favorite dish is actually the vegan duck because it comes with Japanese pumpkin, cabbage, and seeds on top.
This is one of the best vegan food I’ve had to date. Since quitting meat years ago, I’ve always wanted to know if there were ever vegan renditions to the foods I used to love. I can honestly say that the vegan pork bbq tastes WAAAYYY better than the original meat-version. The owner is the sweetest ever and she personally came out of the kitchen to converse with the customers. They even let us stay well after closing just to make sure we enjoyed our food! 10/10
Delicious and healthy vegan cuisine. The owner practices what she sells (she's a Buddhist vegan). Many of the dishes here are made from scratch: for example, their dumplings' dough is house made. Their vegan duck appetizer has good flavour and a nice slightly chewy texture. Unlike some of the other Chinese vegetarian restaurants in NYC, this one seem to use little oil. I went with my mother for lunch and she really enjoyed their food also. Parking around the area is easy to find also.
Bang for your buck! Entrees are huge, for less than $13!! The hot and sour soup was good but not very flavorful and kind of thick Chicken with cashews was pretty good! It had so many different veggies although I thought they put a lot of mushrooms, very saucy and flavorful Steamed dumplings were soft and not flavorful and had a a lot of mushrooms Pad Thai was amazing!!
They set it up as self-help cashier with CCTV. My guess is a south Asian style vegan establishment, heavy on the ginger. If you are vegan and like Chinese Asian give it a try. Kitchen speed might need some improvement but you can wait for your food while listening to Buddhists chanting
The food is tasty and very economical for NYC standards. Very novel idea of having the hostess take your order from Philippines via video conference. The owners are very social and try to make you feel at home. I would give them a 5 star but the ambiance needs a bit of work. The location is deep inside fresh Meadows so they miss out on publicity. If you are going for good taste it's worth taking the detour and find this hidden gem
Context: I arranged a going away get together at this location for 9 people including myself on a Sunday afternoon. Overall: Excellent pricing. For 9 people, only comes to 104.75 if you use a debit/credit card. Large portion sizes for pad thai/chicken. Decent and fair for sushi/burger & rice order. Sweet potato roll/sushi preferable to the avocado but friend still enjoyed avocado. Excellent customer service Quick serving time Could use higher seating for those who are taller Best for 2-4 people Great for takeout, but possible to have decent dining experience Rice was okay for some but I think could have used a little more flavor or salt. Pad thai had too much lime, gave a sour bite towards the bottom of it, but great flavor to start. Even non vegan/vegetarian enjoyed food The sesame chicken was hard for my friend to chew Detailed review for those who could benefit: I called to have reservations made and I heard the person type into a computer, but I'm not sure if there was an official record of it, since the person who takes orders is in the Philippines. Therefore, I would say, you cannot make official reservations here. It's not the kind of dine in where they set up your utensils and menus on the table as I was expecting, having no foreknowledge of this restaurant. It's more of a takeout place and most suitable for 2-4 people dining in together since the place is somewhat small. They let us use the "employees only" bathroom which was fairly clean. The seats that are not against the wall were a little low for my friend who is around 5'10/5'11 but it didn't keep him from enjoying his time there. They may need higher seating though to best accommodate those who are a little taller. However, despite the fact that it's not the dine in experience I was expecting, we still had a great time. While this restaurant was not accustomed to serving groups of our size, they only messed up on one order. They were willing to give the correct order free of charge. The daughter of the owner came out to check on my order three times before serving me making sure not to mess up mine. The brown rice could have had a little more salt or flavor. But the chicken, pad thai, sushi were all greatly enjoyed and we shared it. It was a joy to see my friends enjoy the food. The beyond burger was fine. The owner's daughter also came out to serve us our meals which I greatly appreciated. They took a nice picture of us with our permission and I'm grateful for that because I don't think we would have had as excellent a group picture if someone else had taken it. They were welcoming, respectful, and very patient with us. We were there for about an hour waiting for those who were very late and they didn't rush us to order. The owner firmly but respectfully insisted we order when it was close to 3pm, but at this point, we had been talking and laughing somewhat loudly for about an hour before this and considering what to order. So I would say she was in the right by not rushing us but also not letting us take forever to order while sitting in the restaurant. We were able to push tables together and sit together as a family, though we were a group of friends, and we ended up really enjoying our experience. Those who did not eat meat still thoroughly enjoyed their meal. One non vegan/vegetarian actually savored the last bites of his Tso's chicken and we also took gladly took food home. We were there from about 1:30-4:30ish with the majority leaving before 4 and we were not rushed out after finishing our meal even though they gave us a glad goodbye and welcomed us again It's definitely a good place to return for takeout or could work for those considering a smaller gathering of 2-4. If it's not busy, 9 people can fit comfortably, though the chance of cigarette smoke coming in from outside, as well as the fact that this is primarily a takeout place, may not make this an ideal place for dining in for another gathering for me personally though having a good time and enjoying food is still definitely possible for anyone considering.
I've eaten at this place a few times while visiting in the area, they always served plenty of food and was good and tasty. definitely a place to eat when you are in the area. One point for improvements, they didn't always had all sauces and ran out of napkins once, that's telling me some sort of lacking of organizational planning. Make sure you guys have all the items your customers need! If I’ve helped, thank you for clicking the “LIKE” button! My Ratings: Price $ Food 4*, Service 2.5*, Comfort 2.5* ## Will I visit this place again? When I'm in the area!
Really love the crispy duck from this place but ordered the pineapple fried rice tonight and not my favorite. The flavor was weird and the order didn’t include the spring rolls that I paid for. Texted the number that I received the notifications from and no response. Update: owner reached out next day to make up for this and really happy to see how responsive they were :)
They have an updated menu! But item G4 is apparently: Sauteed Veg. Protein & String Bean w. Ginger. If you don’t really like spicy, I would avoid curry, or anything that has a lot of mashed ginger, I was sweating beads after having a plate of mixed vegetables full of it. Service can be a snail’s pace at times. They have a person on a computer screen servicing the front end. Try ordering ahead on their website or by phone. Dining area is limited.
I ordered takeout online for lunch. It took around 30 minutes from when I placed my order to when it was ready. It was a little confusing arriving at the restaurant because the employee isn’t there in person, but you talk to them through a screen. They do have tables and chairs, but it’s small and seems like more of a takeout place. I ordered 2 appetizers to try: the Indian pancakes with curry sauce and the fries with kimchi and spicy mayo. The pancakes and curry sauce were good. It was like a paratha. The curry sauce was more liquidy than I expected, because I was imagining a thicker Indian curry from the title, but it was flavor-packed and tasty. The kimchi spicy mayo fries didn’t have kimchi from what I could tell, it just seemed like fries coated in a spicy aioli. But they were so delicious! Even with the sauce coating, the fries were still crispy and the sauce was a little sweet, a little spicy and a little savory. I’ll definitely get them again. Finally I got the lunch special, which came with brown rice and hot and sour soup. I chose the curd with black bean sauce for my entree. The portion size was huge and everything tasted good. Overall I felt like this place was a great value for the cost.
We came here after seeing a pop-up ad from Facebook so decided to give it a try. The store front had two stores, one on the left with a dining area and the right had the extra door for blocking the wind which should be the main entrance that wasn't open which was strange. When we entered the dining room, there was no one there except for a virtual Maître d' on the left which was a first for us. We had to show our vaccine cards to eat in the dining area. We ordered several dishes and waited a good amount of time before getting our orders. The cook brought out our dishes and said sorry for the long wait. The cedar fried rice which was advertised as a pyramid in one of the pictures came out flat and in a take out container. The food in general was delicious and at a very competitive price point compared to other vegetarian restaurants in the Queens area. If you pay by credit, expect a surcharge of $6. We paid cash and left a tip for the virtual service in the cash box by the Maître d' who took the order. Also there were plenty of free books on a desk if you wanted to read up on Buddhism in English and Chinese.
This isn’t your traditional dine in restaurant. You walk in, order through a computer screen, and pay. You grab a table, sit, wait for food, and eat. Service doesn’t really exist. I wonder if this set up is temporary for COVID. Besides this, I had a good experience with the food. Ordered the General Tso’s Seitan and Sweet and Sour Tofu. Absolutely love the seitan as it was crispy and flavorful. The tofu could use a little bit more flavoring but the sauce is great and the I loved the veggies. Pricing is perfect. Great portion size and both entrees come with rice. I really admire this restaurant. The parents and their children are working hard to run the business and I really do love that. They are very hard working and this is a small business you must support!
Really like the strong basil and ginger flavor of that semi-hidden menu main course with mushroom and nagaimo! The indian pancake is very, very flaky and melts in mouth. The pad tai is quite delicious, however it isn't the usual peanut pai tai flavor fyi but more like sweet and sour - the noodle quality is especially good because the rice flour content in the rice noodle is high (hence the breakage). The braised tofu skin is meh, because it's got more oil than I am used to.
We all wished the meals were less sweet. We loved having access to a vegan spot but the indoor dining is really 1 table - it's a take out mostly
It's ok. The foods look better on the menu than they taste. A lot of the dishes are traditional Chinese dishes where the meat is just replaced with the seitan or tofu. Which is fine but the quality of the cooking is slightly below average. It's a bit more on the bland and greasy side of things. Would I come again? Meh. Once or twice a year to mix things up. There's so much potential in what they have but just not good cooking.
UPDATE 12/1 updating them from 1 star to a 3 star because they took the time to resolve the issue and took accountability that’s a 5 star experience in itself. Food was trash, ordered the mock duck and veggie beef. The mock duck didn’t have much flavor but was okay texture wise than the veggie beef which was just flour fried up into thick squares (I could have did that myself and saved a 30 min drive) no attempt to get any type of texture, tough to chew and had 0 seasoning, this is one of those spots where the sauce is the seasoning, spent $40 on inedible food. They put the food on a bed a flavorless veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, squash 0 seasoning and give you a side of rice
Food was ok for fake meats. Strange that you walk in and no one is there — you order from a person on a screen who is sitting remotely in the Philippines. It’s more of a take-out place with a few tables to sit at. I had higher hopes for the BBQ beef, which looked much different on the menu than way came out of the kitchen.
The best dining experience if you enjoy placing your order with a person on a computer monitor, monks chanting continuously, over and over, faintly but just loud enough to be creepy, and questionable service from an array of children sitting around... all in all weird uncomfortable place. Decent food.
Well, this place is vegan. But the benefits end there. I ordered 3 meals. 1)Chicken noodle soup - too much oil. The vegetables were coated with oil. Not enough salt. The rice noodles were OK. The "chicken" was so chewy to the point of being innedible. 2)Bean curd with black bean sauce - way too much oil, bean curd pieces were tasteless. The whole meal just didn't taste good. 3)sesame soy protein - a bunch of deep fried tofu pieces that were chewy. Bottom line. The food doesn't taste good, nor is it healthy.
I hate giving this place only 2 stars, but eating here was an unpleasant and bizarre experience. When we walked in we were greeted by a voice but saw an empty restaurant. Turns out that the voice came from a woman on a monitor screen. She instructed us to look at the take out menu and give her our order, then to sit anywhere. We were alone in the restaurant until a staff member came out with a bag of food for a take -out order. Customers came in occasionally, only to pick up their food; the food itself was pretty good but the experience was so odd we agreed we'd never return.
Disappointed First time customer!!! They ruined my family’s Mother’s day dinner. informed Belle a day before we will be ordering a take out next day. Requested her to put our entrees together and not to separate the sauces/gravy. She assured we will get it the way we want it. Today Mother’s Day placed the order (9 entrees) with Jennifer. Made the same request to her a no of times. She too assured. She was slow in taking the order. Like 20-25 mins. For 4 entrees we got 4 small containers of sauces. When we picked up we noticed and requested again but they refused. So for each dry entree there was barely enough sauce to cover a quarter of each entree. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! We called and complained later from home noticing not enough sauces but Jennifer and Bella hung up and then wouldn’t pick up till we called *67 first. Bell picked up the anonymous caller and again hung up on us. FEEL SORRY FOR MOM!!!! As per your response we have not received full refund. And my brother picked up the food. He told the girl how we had wanted all the sauces put together but she refused. She is lying by saying my brother did not bring it to her attention.
Truly a disappointing experience. My husband and I supported them throughout the height of the pandemic, and recently decided to try them out again, but the customer service, or complete lack of, is extremely unfortunate. We ordered directly through their website, and received a confirmation saying that our food would take 1 hour. For take out? We had two lunch orders and 1 appetizer. Fine. We live around the block so we went to pick up after 1 hour, and the food was still not ready, and we were told it would be another 5 minutes. 45 minutes later, now almost 2 hours after we ordered, the food still had not come out and at this point we decided to leave without our food and asked for a refund, which still has not been processed over a week later. There was no one at the restaurant besides a computer screen and a virtual cashier taking orders, and no one ever came out to address our concerns after waiting nearly 2 hours for take out food. I really do not like shaming small businesses, but if you are unable to handle something simple like having orders on time without having someone wait nearly an hour in your restaurant with no real person addressing the issue, then you should reconsider your operations, because to me this is unacceptable.
I came in for a veggie burger with fries and when I get there they say they no longer have it and convince me on another burger which I agree but it’s smaller and the fries are smaller too. What’s the point of paying $12 if your not going to get what you called for. Yes they tried to call me but never left a message. When I called in, the woman should have told me. Apparently this whole zen atmosphere they are trying to strive for is not working. When I got there , the energy felt disconnected. Just like the other reviews. And it took me a while to travel there. Unfortunately I won’t come back.
I ordered from here blindly from a search for vegan food near my friends house. I went directly to their website to order but I guess the order was then passed to DoorDash. It took over an hour and a half for the food to arrive. Can't tell who's fault that is. Delivery time aside; this food is just not good. The protein is cooked poorly, presentation is awful, dry rice, just overall poor effort. Do not order here.
Food was not good. My wontons were burnt, the bbq seitan didn’t taste good and was too sweet to be bbq, my chicken fried rice was dry and unflavored. The chicken pieces in it tasted rubbery. Also this isn’t a place to sit down bc the seating area isn’t very welcoming. I saw a bunch of dirty plates just sitting there when I walked in.
If this was your 1st foray into vegan food, you'd never eat it again. Thank God it was not mine. Wanted to try a vegan spot in my home borough of Queens. Sadly, I have to keep going. This food is horrible! Spaghetti with mixed veggies and tomatoes thrown in to call itself lo mein. Vegan duck,...? Gummy mess. Bbq beef. Tasteless over fried mess! Sautéed vegetables. Mushy goop! Nothing more to add. Skip it.
Taste is ok, nothing spectacular! Portions are considerably small compared to the cost associated with the food. Customer service doesn't seem like a priority for them. The restaurant forgot 2 of my soups and utensils from the order and was told by the hostess that she would check with the owner and get back to me but nothing since. All they had to say was, "We are sorry, the next time we will give you 2 soups for free!" But instead the escapism from being wrong! Its not just about the soups (Which I paid for) its about their don't care attitude! Just being polite over the phone or by delivering food in a Tesla S is not customer service!
The worst General TSO and sweet sour chick food i ever taste the sauce on both was bland. The Brown rice was cook in to much water mushy. The chick was to small to taste. If i can give it no stars i would. The food was bland. Store brought sauce taste better. The food was yuck yuck yuck. They was suppose to call me when the food was ready they never did. My first time there. I had to walk in to find out that my food was ready. Took a long time. I went 10/3/2020 in the afternoon
Ordered from this place a couple times for delivery. We had the sweet and sour “chicken”. Their online menu states that the “chicken” is cauliflower. It was either really old cauliflower, or something else because it did not taste or look like cauliflower. The other dishes we had were either mushy or too oily. I don’t think I will order from this restaurant again, as I feel that they are not fully transparent with their food and it is overpriced. Edit: Based off of the owner’s response to my review, I gave them a call. They confirmed that the “chicken” is soy not cauliflower. Luckily I don’t have a soy allergy, but I would highly avoid eating here as they think its acceptable to have customers order a cauliflower expected dish that is soy.
The food was not only disgusting but looked nothing like what was advertised. Ordered a sesame "chicken", sesame "beef" and general tso and it was rubbery and hard to chew. Sauce was served separately in a container. Spent $40+ on food not even your dog would eat. I should have known something was wrong by the smell of the food but I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. I should have trusted my instincts. I dont know who in their right mind gave this place more than 1 star. I would have given it a -10 if I could. The food was not edible it was Awful!!!
Horrible delivery service waited over 2 hrs not worth it. Update: it took three hours for them to say they are in front of my house but weren't. They claim that we are out of their delivery zone but its literally a 4 min drive to my house. They simply shouldn't deliver if they can't handle it The place won't take the blame. My house is not over three miles away and regardless of that fact if the order is placed 330, I shouldnt be getting called at 630 for the deliver to be "complete".
I order sesame chicken and General TSO chicken didn't like the texture of the vegan chicken and the sauce. To be honest it turn my stomach. The meat was like small round balls. But this time the rice wasn't water down. Had the lunch special.
I went there with my neice for the first time. We was greeted by a person in the TV. Who told us to pick a seat and take a menu. We then was told by the person in the TV our order. They brought our food out however, it wasn't as picture. I was disappointed.
This is probably the worst vegan place I have ever eaten at in my entire life. The food looks nothing like the pictures….shame on you! It is dried out and like rubber. It is a reason why this place has a “C” rating. The whole atmosphere was weird. You go there and order your food through someone like you are on a Zoom or Teams call. No cashier! No one is there except for the guy who brings out your food and he has an attitude. Do yourself a favor and pass on this excuse for a restaurant.
Honestly Disappointed, looking at the Pictures I had Big Expectations.... The General Tso had no sauce on top of the food, i was surprised as soon as i saw that, it did have a little liquid on the bottom, The Veggie Duck seemed more like Duck Skin with the middle missing, also tried the Roast pork, The Textures were off on all 3 Dishes. We were extremely Disappointed... i have been eating Vegan since 1987, when Quantum Leep was on Fresh Meadow Lane down the block from there. Also did not Know until after i got home, I was told by a family member, she saw they had a "C" rating...Lastly most of the food ended up getting thrown in the garbage, if Owners/management are reading this, i was Order #9, and would Gladly except a Refund....
Should have read the reviews before coming..No Buffet Rude staff..does not look sanitary kinda dirty even for nyc standards..😒 women on screen said have not been doing buffet for weeks ..when you advertise something i expect the restaurant to provide that service.
I’m giving it 1 star because the food actually tastes good here, but…. They tend to mess my order up quite a few times, always forgetting part of my order, that is why I stopped going there for a while. I started going back again and wanted to order today since it is the 1st of a new month on the lunar calendar and they have specials on the 1st and 15th of every month on the lunar calendar, at least that’s what I was told before. But when I tried to order today, the lady on the phone said that the special happened last Tuesday, which is not any type of special vegan day. I told her I would call back, hung up, double checked my lunar calendar, and called her back and her response was that it is entirely up to the owner. That I understand, but you should and need to let the customers know, which they did not and that there is unprofessional.
Small portions has no taste Ordered eggplant was mush with no flavor not even 1 plate full Do not waste your time here horrible food dirty store I guess I should of known since I was order 2 at 7 pm
I walk in the restaurant and I hear someone say hello I look around and someone sitting there points a screen with a woman on it. A woman that was sitting down eating soup told me that I have to order from the woman on the screen and was handed a menu by a young man that was sitting there with a laptop. I was waiting for a friend, to come before I ordered. The woman on the screen stayed on the screen the entire time just waiting for customers to come. When asked, she said that she was in the Philippines. I wanted water, I asked the young man with the laptop and the woman that was there (I’m not really sure what their roles were, the woman asked me a lot of questions, when I asked if she works there she said no, that she helps out.) for water, they had water in a small refrigerator but it wasn’t cold and it looked like a brand of water that I’ve seen sold in a pharmacy. I asked if I could just have tap water and I was told no, they don’t have any to offer me. I eventually saw a big water cooler jug of water with a spout attached. So, the food came out. My friend ordered a Beyond burger with fries, she liked her meal. I ordered an avocado sushi roll and a mango sushi roll. The woman on the screen said they didn’t have the mango roll, so I opted for a sweet potato roll. A woman that was in the kitchen came out with the food and eagerly asked me how the food was prior to me even tasting the food. She stood there for a while for me to taste it, then she began talking to the woman that was sitting there in their language and became distracted. The food: It was okay, I get vegan sushi rolls often and they had very little of the vegetables and a whole lot of rice, it wasn’t really portioned well. I felt like I was mostly eating a bowl of rice with a little bit of veggies. I didn’t really taste the flavors of the veggies or the spicey mayo. I was only provided a packet of soy sauce, there was no wasabi or ginger and the presentation of the food was not good. I was handed a plastic fork in plastic and I asked for chop sticks. I was then told by the young man that the place is not a place where you pay tips or they provide service to you. The entire time the woman on the screen is sitting there looking out at you and anyone else in the room, as though she is watching a live television show. It was weird and a bit creepy and it felt like big brother (or sister) was watching you. The chef did come out and we spoke (he was very nice). I asked him for tap water and he did get water from the room temperature spouted water cooler jug - so I appreciated that. I would not recommend this establishment if you want a pleasant sit down meal at a restaurant. This is more of a take out/ delivery restaurant for those in the neighborhood with mediocre vegan food.
Was a weekly customer .last order placed was 2 months ago. Placed order for 2 lunch specials and 1 entree. Forgot spring rolls ,called back in 1minute to add on spring rolls. Order took 50 minutes and spring rolls were missing.{ Order #'s 2&3}.Got yelled by mama or cook for not ordering all at once .I feel she needs some charm school training. Not only lost customer, also redirected friends to another vegetarian restaurant on fresh pond road. Food is ok on the drier side with very little sauce. Attitude needs major improvement.
Called 1/2/26 @105pm all I heard was yelling she said can not take my order now has a customer there placing a order and hung up..about 5 minutes later got a call from Mrs dong said her english is poor will have the other girl call me back. 45 minutes later she calls back very confused to why she called me after talking for a few minutes says she can now take my order but the wait time is 25-30 minutes. My lunch break is over. Also told her I went to try last Saturday to try the buffet but they were not serving said they stopped that weeks ago but it's still on the website. Very very poor service don't waste your time.
Horrible food I’m a vegan chef and I also on a vegan restaurant I am extremely dissatisfied I ordered fried rice it was hard and old and crunchy the veggies stink and taste old I also ordered Spring rolls they where burnt and taste like frost bite the sesame chicken had old stale veggies and was disgusting old and soggy the food was so nasty i wanted to cry because I don’t live In queens and couldn’t turn back I was out there visiting and picked it up on my way back to the city this place really needs to be shut down asap how disrespectful to serve people slop this is a disgrace to the vegan community and I will be doing a Tik Tok review to raise awareness this is so wrong on all levels
