I'm a foodie who travels extensively on business, and given the many fancy sushi restaurants to entertain customers such as RA and Sushi Ramba in Vegas, this is the only Japanese restaurant that comes close for food quality and service. I have dined there twice and have been absolutely impressed & pleased (see pics). The cocktails and appetizers are amazing too. Sushi was served fresh and simply delectable. The restaurant offers something I've yet seen anywhere and that's a mouth rinse and toothpicks in the bathroom! This is next level service! Definitely a must try.

I just had the best experience last night! It was my first time here with a group of friends! Our service with Kelly was AMAZING! She was very attentive and she knew the menu by giving us the best recommendations and experience! Definitely will be going back!

Came her for the first time for a much needed date night with the Mrs., and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, my wife got the Kagawa Maki and I got the Teishoku Solo. We highly recommend the Mango Panna Cotta for dessert. Everything was extremely fresh and the service was top tier. Our server Regan was amazing and made our first visit memorable. We will definitely be returning soon.

Amazing Sushi Spot! I can’t believe how amazing this place is! The food was absolutely delicious — super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite tasted perfect, and the quality was way beyond what I expected for the price. The prices are so reasonable for the amount and quality you get! The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the whole atmosphere made the experience even better. This is definitely one of my new favorite sushi spots — I’ll be coming back again and again. If you’re looking for a special occasion or date night this place is on the list of places to go in Fresno. Although on the pricier side, the premium quality of food & customer service is what you will be experiencing. Donnavon our server helped us twice and we appreciate him making sure our table was taken care of. The Kaiseki Set with the prime angus ribeye is our go to here since there is a bit of everything!

My husband and I’s first time here was a great experience. We had their Uni Udon Pasta, Karashi Curry Lamb Chops, and their Salmon Spoons. Everything tasted great. Our server was also nice and checked on us frequently. Wish I can remember her name!

Excellent staff, more than just food. Eating here is a dining experience with food being presented in a beautiful and thoughtful presentation every step of the way. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. Oysters were excellent and so fresh!

My mother and I went to this restaurant for lunch around 11:45am. Place was empty, with a few guests sitting in the outdoor patio. The Host named Lisa was so sweet and helped us navigate the menu and even gave us snacks to eat while we waited, she also offered us water. The customer service her is top notch. The inside is so beautiful and modern. The food was priced as expected for the area, not cheap but not super expensive. For two lunch specials the cost was near $40, $18 each. We had the chicken thighs, white rice, and broccolini. It was fresh, not very flavorful, no sauces or soy sauce on the side. The food needed a little sauce to liven it up, it was plain, nothing special, but not bad, the freshness made up for the lack of flavor. The chopsticks provided were good quality which I appreciate because I love using chopsticks. The meal came in the best packaging I have ever received from any to go order, meal was made in about 20 minutes, great service, beautiful ambiance.

If you’re looking for the best sushi restaurant in Fresno, O-iza Modern Japanese is a must-visit. The service was outstanding, friendly, professional, and attentive from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of fresh flavor. The sushi rolls were some of the best I’ve had in California, and the Japanese fried chicken (karaage) was perfectly crispy and delicious. The atmosphere is stylish and modern, making it perfect for date nights or special occasions. Highly recommend O-iza for anyone searching for top-rated Japanese food in Fresno. 5 stars all the way!

Absolutely excellent! The staff is fun, courteous and informative. The food is imaginative, expertly prepared and delicious! The prices are very fair for the quality you’re receiving. Their menu has something for everyone. Give O-iza a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Had an amazing first time experience. We were met with a very warm welcome and our server Raegan helped us navigate their amazing menu and helped us have one the most amazing dinners! Absolutely loved the salmon spoons! Can’t wait to go again and try more delicious things!

It was a very lovely experience! The staff was lovely, the ambiance so calming, and overall great experience. Loved the seafood miso but forgot to take a picture. We tried the feast for 4, wagu fried rice, and the matcha parfait. We all enjoyed the food but the best part was the parfait! But they apparently run out of the matcha ice cream so maybe ask ahead of time. Second visit we tried the King of the Sea, temaki, and ebi habanero roll. The temaki is great! Also server Issac (is awesome) recommended a habanero sauce that we put on almost everything.

Wow! Seriously good food and it's prepared so well! We had the Wagyu Gyoza, suonomonu Salad with prawns, California roll, negi roll, and the Sea Bass that was served on a bed of lobster stock risotto and Japanese mushrooms. A wonderful meal! Their sushi and fish is fresh, beautiful, and delicious. Highly recommend! Say hi to Lisa the hostess who's so very sweet and Belle, our server who was perfect! Definitely will be back!

We had the Lobster with Rib Eye combo, we also had the Dragon rolls and Miso soup. Food is awesome taste very delicious. Would highly recommend this place … it’s me and my wife’s first time here for dinner.

I opted to make reservations for my birthday dinner, and the staff was very nice and helpful. When I arrived for my dinner, the staff was quite friendly and sweet. The food was fantastic, and the beverages were wonderful. The restaurant gave me a small gift that I thought was quite unique and special. I'll keep coming back because I enjoyed the service and food.

Our waiter Carlye B helped us put together a dream birthday dinner for two, and orchestrated a perfect delivery. We started with Furikake Wagyu / bone marrow and Tagarashi baked oysters, both delicious and served in that special perfect Japanese presentation. For the main dish we selected a dozen of sashimi plates and asked to put it on one plate. What came to our table exceeded by far our expectations, see the pictures. The fish was as fresh as it gets and again the presentation was over the top fantastic! As desert we had Blk sesame hazelnut and matcha parfait (decorated on the occasion of said birthday). My spouse also received a small gift, which was very thoughtful. We spent a fe dollars on this dinner, but it was worth every penny!

O-IZA provided a truly wonderful dining experience for my husband's birthday celebration last night. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The food was exceptional – every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service we received from our host, Regan. I had mentioned it was my husband's birthday when we arrived, and Regan made sure he felt celebrated. She surprised us with a delightful dessert treat with "Happy Birthday" written on it, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Her genuine kindness and attentiveness made our evening truly special. Thank you, O-IZA, and especially Regan, for a memorable birthday dinner! We will definitely be back.

We had our Valentines dinner here tonight. Long wait but we didn’t have reservations, so it only tells me must be good. Our waitress Regan was absolutely amazing. Helpful, consistent, funny, and understanding as we had our baby with. She made the experience what it was. She even gave my wife a flower at the end. Now I hope for this restaurant to give Regan HER flowers. Oh yeah, food was fantastic too. Thank you for an amazing Valentines date. Couldn’t recommend more!

Could you imagine the perfect dining experience actually exists in Fresno?😅 if you're a fan of Japanese food, this is it. When you first walk in, prepare to stand in awe and take in the unique modern, whimsical, nature inspired- atmosphere. If you come here to celebrate- (I came here for my birthday) they provide the most amazing dessert. Matcha ice cream with bean paste, lychee and...frosted corn flakes?! Yes. As someone who is not a fan of processed cereals, I was a bit incredulous. UNTIL I tried it- then I was in heaven 😭 we had made a reservation, so not sure about the wait time. Make a reservation to be safe because you dont want to miss out. The service was super friendly and attentive, and the sushi rolls my friend and I shared were delicious. I wish I remembered the name of them because the baked roll we got tasted like the chef wrote a love song just for me. Every bite was poetic. The cocktails were delicious as well. I'm DEFINITELY 100% coming back here.

Tonight was mine and my boyfriend’s first time at O-iza. The food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was very relaxing, and the service was amazing!! We were well taken care of the whole time & will definitely be going back. Shoutout to Mindy & Itzie for being so generous and attentive to us❤️

My husband brought me here for my birthday, and it was a pleasant first time experience, I just wish it they didn't reserve tables and only do FCFS. But we waited like an 1hr before we were seated and in the meantime we looked over the menu, which sounded to be a little to exotic, like the names of the dishes, but in actuality every dish I was familiar with. The food was hot and tasted fresh, we had ordered main course dinners as well as appetizers and mixed drinks. I liked the ambiance, I just wished their restaurant was a little bit bigger, as I did not like sitting right next to other ppl, like sharing 1 bench seat with someone else. Our server was great and really sweet

We tried this restaurant out for our anniversary. We were able to walk in for dinner and waited around an hour on a Saturday evening. The hostess and servers were attentive to everyone around them. Kelly was our server and made many recommendations. As we waited for our order, we overheard her professionally handling a table near us regarding an issue the customers had. The management and our server were quick to mediate an issue and/or offer a solution, which nowadays is a rare opportunity. On to our meal and drinks: we had the matcha latte and lychee mojito (I believe that's what it was called). Both drinks were delicious and refreshing, hard to believe that there was liquor in the mojito bc it was really good. The half order oysters were great as well, beautifully presented and shucked over ice. Steak hibachi was wonderful with well plated veggies and smoky fried rice. I ordered a roll that was decent but simple overall. The price point like many is said to be high but with the presentation, service, and variety my overall experience was great. Especially after seeing how the management cares about quality and customer interaction. Would dine here again. A complaint I do have is the lighting: where we sat was quite dim and difficult to visually appreciate the meal.

Unique upscale vibe. Dumplings were like little warm silk pillows of yum. Drinks were delicious. Try the Sapporo and Matcha! Had the hibachi combo of Rib eye, chicken, and shrimp ... this is where they failed. Everything was dry and overcooked. Even the fried rice was hard. I would go back and try something else for sure. It is a lovely dining experience.

It came with a 3 sashimi pieces, cucumber salad, a couple wagyu gyoza, and veggie tempura. The best item was the gyoza it was full or flavor and it’s something I would order again. The ribeye was over cooked when we asked for it to be medium rare. It came out medium. The cucumber salad had pieces of octopus and it was a common tasting cucumber salad. The tempura was just 4 pieces of fried veggie with the dipping sauce. Very average. I ordered the Teishoku Solo and it came with 6 pieces of sashimi, 4 nigiri, and a California roll. Everything that I had was fresh and tasty. To me, the price doesn’t fit for me. For a place that is supposed to be intimate I was awfully close to the next table, close enough to add to the conversation. Service was good. We were served edamame and a wash rag to start the meal. There’s nothing really bad about this place, it’s not for me. Prices of the individual rolls seemed about average.

So.. it was good, not great. The restaurant is beautiful, and the service was pretty good. However, for the price i was not overly impressed with the food. It was GOOD, don’t get me wrong. But I really thought it was going to be a lot better than it was. I think they’ve kind of cornered the market, so they definitely charge a premium but I do not think it’s worth what they’re charging.

I really wanted to love this place — it’s beautiful, the prices suggest a high-end experience, and the location in River Park sets a certain expectation. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t live up to that. We were initially told it would be a 2-hour wait, but my partner made an online reservation immediately and it showed availability right away. After being checked in, our name was called within two minutes — except another party was taken back instead. The same hostess then approached us multiple times asking if we were waiting for reservations under different names. Even after we paid and were leaving, she asked me again if I had a reservation. I understand busy nights happen, but the lack of awareness was frustrating. Service throughout the meal was very slow. It took about 10 minutes just to have our water filled, and another 10 minutes before our orders were taken. Our server was kind and attentive when she was able to be, though she clearly seemed overwhelmed. The presentation of the dishes was lovely, and the atmosphere itself was beautiful, but the food did not match the price point. For entrées priced between $40–$60 per plate, the quality was underwhelming. The rice was mushy, the fish tasted like grocery-store sushi quality, and the wasabi lacked flavor and had a noticeably powdery texture. The table next to us mentioned to their server that the food had “gone downhill” since their last visit, which unfortunately aligned with our experience. I spoke with the manager on the way out — politely and privately — and she acknowledged it was a very busy night and offered a $50 gift card, which I appreciated. That said, being busy shouldn’t dramatically impact food quality, service, or basic organization, especially at this price point. If a restaurant can’t maintain consistency during peak hours, something in the staffing or business model needs to be adjusted. That said, I do want to give this place another try, because it clearly has potential. I’m hopeful that on a future visit I’ll be able to update this review with a much better experience.
