Opinions de The Patio Downtown Gainesville
Edit: 2nd visit... Pizza was just as great as the first time the cheese blend is very good and the pizza has a nice crunchy crust. I love how they do extra cheese so you see it on the pie. Although I might ask about having that under the normal cheese blend it get the classic look. Very fairly priced for the quality that is provided. I will definitely be a life long customer here.
This is honestly the best pizza I have had in Gainesville, and I have tried all the major pizza places around here. Everything about the pizza was delicious, it was cooked absolutely perfectly and the dough was amazing. I also tried the house salad, which stood out because of the vinaigrette and complemented the pizza perfectly. Overall, it's in a great location and was a great experience (food, service, atmosphere, etc.) but I really must emphasize how delicious the pizza was!! Definitely going back frequently.
Great pizza and even better staff. Our server was Cory he was a gem!! Friendly, funny and just had an all around positive attitude. He was taking care of everyone on his own and he didn't miss a beat. I'm Italian so very picky when it comes to pizza and this place is right on point. Through in the amazing service we received and you are golden. Managed restaurants for 25 years and I'm a baker as well I would have loved to have the cook and Cory on my staff. The only thing I can say is why is the not a cannoli on the menu? This is a staple dessert. I have one after every pizza to eat in or take home and I could bake my own lol but it's a must have on a menu Thank you Cory for such great service and thank you to the cook for such perfect pizza!!
Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, so good! We got a mushroom and olive pizza and it was delicious. We ordered it in person at 12:30am after a gator football game and only had to wait 15 minutes. Great place and will be back!
I was so upset when Big Lou's closed down. I had heard horror stories about the management so I knew it needed to happen. To my wonderful surprise, Patio - Pizza & Provisions opened up and although I was worried it would be another fancy overpriced downtown hotspot, it's got the same basic menu as Big Lou's had! I can continue to enjoy my DELICIOUS pizza by the slice, caesar salad, and curly fries with ranch! 10/10
Awesome Philly cheesesteak sandwich and golden brown and delicious curly fries! Allison the server was amazing! The decor is mid century modern pizza shop with a twist of beautiful white tile walls and a cool indoor and outdoor space! Definitely recommend if you are in the downtown Gainesville area!

The wife and I were strolling around downtown and the both of us being from jersey we decided to stop in and try the pizza. I mean it when I tell you nothing else we’ve had here comes close to authentic tri-state pizza than this place it blew both of our minds. The atmosphere was laid back and everyone there was welcoming and attentive. Keep doing what you guys are doing! We will be back again soon!
Let me tell you… what an experience at the patio!! First of all, the service was unbeatable. The waitress was extremely personable and nice. The cook was also extremely nice and knowledgeable about the food. Could not have asked for a better experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quick bite to eat or bottomless mimosas on Sunday.
The Patio has been a faithful weeknight spot for the last year thanks to their good pies and great happy hour deal. Unfortunately it appears that they are under new management and the menu has been slashed to just cheese or pepperoni pizza, the HH deal is gone, and the place is deserted. Hoping that these are the growing pains :/ will update the review once we taste our pizza
Nice place and atmosphere. Just been there for the first time with a couple friends. Pizza was very good and the service was excellent. We asked to turn the speakers music volume a little down and the waitress was happy to do that for us. Shame that all plates, cups and forks are disposable. Overall satisfied costumers! We'll go back.
Great pizza, great salads, great service, great atmosphere. If I could give The Patio 6/5 stars ... I would! One of the owners makes the pizza dough by hand each morning and you can really tell by the quality of the slice. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch downtown or a cute date night, I highly recommend the Patio! Hands down best pizza in Gainesville!
Great pizza, truly "New Jersey" style as advertised. I loved my pizza!! Friendly people, and their gluten free/dairy free, which my wife ordered was surprisingly delicious (she insisted I take a bite, it was so good!) We were actually next to Satchels when my wife suggested pizza for lunch and I passed them by (no offense Satchels) and drove downtown to the Patio and we were not disappointed.
This is a really excellent pizza spot. Their pizza is exactly as described, so there should be no confusion or mismatch between expectations and reality. The staff is incredibly kind (my waitress each time I've eaten here has been so kind to both me and especially my dog!). They have irresistible drink deals, pizza options, and alternative entrees. Please check the place out if you're able!
I've had the pleasure of patronizing this business on several occasions since this business has opened. My friends will tell you I normally don’t care for pizza. However, I will make an exception for The Patio. Whether you elect for a cheese or pepperoni slice, or try one of their very creative specialty slices, you will not be disappointed. They are now offering a brunch menu on Sundays, and their breakfast pizza is a class on its own. Top notch. The waiting staff they have on board is excellent. For the quality of their food and their level of customer service, their prices are almost a bargain. So, if you're looking to try something different, give The Patio a shot. Chances are you'll be coming back for seconds.

I mean its alright. Pizza is pizza except they forgot the dough and subbed in cardboard. The sauce was great but I can also just buy Walmart brand pizza sauce to replicate 1 ingredient flavor. Cheese was... cheese can't really go wrong with cheese fantastic. Toppings were decent and the majority of the flavor. Onions tasted like onions so I guess that's a plus and pepperoni also tasted like pepperoni. I would probably go here more often if the price for cardboard with sauce wasn't $30. At least the people there were friendly and I could sit inside if I didn't want to inhale fumes from the street and see drunk college kids throwing up on trees

As many other reviewers have noted, there used to be a highly rated restaurant at this address. That restaurant closed, and the new restaurant somehow managed to keep the Google reviews from the old, unrelated restaurant. Those great-looking Nashville Hot Chicken sliders they show off in the photos? Those don't exist anymore. Instead, you can pay $5 for a single slice of pepperoni pizza with cardboard crust, store brand pepperoni, and gooey tasteless cheese. I only took two bites and threw the rest away. I'm in shock at how bad it was. The kid working was nice, but that was the only good thing. The interior was 90 degrees and dead empty.
New owners, now it’s terrible. On a home game weekend, they served only slices and had just pepperoni or cheese to choose from. Lukewarm and tasteless. No liquor or beer on tap. When a line formed inside (on a game day), the owner kicked everyone out and said they had to order at the window. I hope a good business takes the spot when this place inevitably closes. Good riddance
Ownership changed recently. And s9 did the food. The old pizza was great. New owners serve the worst pizza I have ever had. And it was $30 for a pepperoni pizza that I ate 1 slice of. Can't wait to see what opens here when they close soon.
As the previous poster said, the new owners ruined the place. This used to be a place to get close to a NY slice. Now it’s worst than airport food. The kid who took my order immediately disappeared once the slices were served. Soggy, undercooked crust, flavorless cheese, seemed like it was sitting there forever since no one was even there during dinner time. No one came to ask how it was. I look forward to whatever comes here next. This place won’t last.
This place used to be your best downtown option for what they called authentic NJ style pizza. It recently changed ownership to a family who I’m not sure if they had ever tasted pizza before buying the place. It’s absolute garbage. Undercooked, soggy crust, flavorless cheese. When I complained I got a blank stare and a shrug from the kid behind the counter who inexplicably disappeared for 20 minutes during which another customer came in and waited to order their garbage. There are already a number of reviews recently confirming they have seriously tanked this place. The food service business is way too hard to just buy a place and not know how to make food. It’s a shame because we lost another good downtown establishment.
