Had an amazing time at Small Batch tonight. This is the same owner as Craft in NYC, which we have been to a number of times and love. With that being said, we looked forward to this experience tonight, and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant has an atmosphere that is sleek but not too stuffy. Both the food and service were outstanding. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!
My first time hereJan 2021. My cousin brought me here and I'm loving it. This is one of her favorite places. We made it for happy hour. The food is awesome and the service is phenomenal. Its nice and laid back for a Monday. Very trendy decor, warm and friendly wait staff. I would definitely come back here. UPDATE: I came back to small batch for a birthday brunch for my cousin. Once again the food is awesome. The steak was perfect. I loved the avocado toast. Nothing was salty and everything was cooked with such flavor. Jeff was an awesome waiter. He was very attentive and accommodating to our table when we needed to change our drinks. She had a great birthday brunch here. We will be coming back again.
We had an amazing experience at Small Batch and couldn’t be happier with how everything went. We came in with a party of 11 to celebrate my son’s 5th birthday, and from the moment we arrived, we were taken care of. The manager Kevin stepped in right away and made sure everything ran smoothly — professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server Naomi J was absolutely outstanding. She was kind, patient, and incredibly attentive with such a large group, especially with a kid involved. She really went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. The food was excellent, but the highlight was the chef making BBQ sauce from scratch for my son, even though it’s not on the menu. That level of thoughtfulness and care truly meant a lot to us and made the birthday feel extra special. The hostess was also very warm and welcoming I wish I remembered her name 🙁, setting a great tone for the entire experience. Overall, this was top-tier hospitality, amazing food, and genuine care from the staff. We felt valued, celebrated, and well taken care of. We’ll absolutely be back — highly recommend!
What a wonderful establishment. Ambiance is beautiful, servers are kind and prompt. The manager is an absolute gem. My colleague and I frequent this place as its very close to our job. We had misordered an entree that I believed to be vegetarian but was not (the spicy grilled cheese). The wonderful manager quickly and swiftly swapped it with a to-go order (as we were in a rush back to work) that was vegetarian and I could not be more pleased with how intuitive and quick-to-action he was. This is an absolute must in my lunch spot rotation.
Everything was fantastic. I would definitely recommend coming with friends, family, or a date. They do have some kind of happy hour but you have to sit at the bar. We sat outside because the weather was nice but there indoor seating is also a vibe (certain parts have natural lighting, the other parts are darker but have a view of the open kitchen). The salmon was cooked perfectly, I loved the char! The Caesar salad is quite “fishy” (it has anchovies that are soaked in lemon!) I personally liked it but just a word or caution if you’re not a fan of anchovies. Fried “hot” chicken was solid and if you chose potatoes as your side, you get a huge helping of potatoes. My friend got Bucatini and she said it was delicious. The strawberry rhubarb crisp was amazing and I would come back specifically for this. The vanilla bean ice cream on top is incredible and has a very strong vanilla bean flavor. I wonder if they sell pints of this?
Celebrated my daughter's birthday at Small Batch on a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon. Reservations certainly recommended, seated quickly at a nice window seat location. Server was engaging and handled my inquiry about Birthday celebration with good cheer and experience. We shared Avocado Toast, which was served nicely on two plates and a really fresh and delicious Tuna Tartare. Good start indeed. Paired with a Sweet Mimosa (with Pomegranite), recommended by the Server, well done! For Brunch, I ordered the Salmon which was nicely seasoned and delicious. My daughter celebrated her birthday with French Toast! Trying a bit, it is quite delicious, don't hesitate to order for your brunch. Finally, Chocolate Lava Cake with a candle for a birthday celebration, (Ok, not a Kid's kinda celebration) but sweet regardless. Hung out in their lounge area for a few moments and staff was gracious as we requested a couple of pics. This was a 1st class experience from beginning to end. Yes, it can be considered an expensive meal so double your budget, but otherwise a 5 star experience all the way around. Well Done Small Batch!
Have not eaten here as I no longer live in the area. But I used to come here relatively frequently. I found some old pictures. The place has gotten to NYC price really . I always enjoyed eating here . The ambience is truly fantastic. The designer did a great job. Some things are better than others. But I will miss coming here every once in a while .
Pleasantly surprised! Was looking for a new brunch spot in the area and dropped by. Beautiful interior, drinks were superb, and food was amazing. We had the Love is Love cocktail for Pride Month, the Bloody Mary, and the On A Flight 4 mimosa sampler. The arugula salad was heavenly. Coffee, tea, and dessert were superb. Wait staff very attentive. This will be our new brunch spot for sure!
We recently hosted a lunch here for our micro-wedding guests. We occupied the front room by the bar, which was semi private and perfect for our party size. Aaron and the team were extremely attentive and accommodating during the planning process! I was able to drop off centerpiece’s and favors for the table setup beforehand, which they handled perfectly! Food and service were impeccable. Everybody left full and satisfied!
Had an awesome experience at the bar at Small Batch thanks to Luis! He’s a great server and an even better mixologist. He made a fantastic cocktail with El Dorado Guyanese rum—smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. His knowledge, attention to detail, and great vibe made the night even better. Definitely grab a seat at the bar if Luis is working!
WOW! What a beautiful experience. The service, the food, the atmosphere, everything was perfect. It was clean and everyone was incredibly friendly. Loved our waiter, Rory! I went with my mom for my birthday brunch and they had a personalized menu for me. We shared the pumpkin coffee cake with caramelized whip cream and it was DELICIOUS! OMG. Amazingly fantastic. Soft with a crunch and the taste was so fantastic. Also had the eggs benedict and french toast with fig preservatives and it was all great. We then ordered pear and green apple sorbet and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I suggest this place to anyone wanting a friendly, warm and pleasant experience for any meal. The manager and wait staff were helpful and kind and smiling. Loved it here.
Second time coming. This time was for mothers day brunch. Despite the busy holiday, and being a few minutes late for our reservation, the restaurant was accommodating for a large group of us. Service was very quick. Our food was spot on and delicious. The menu varies slightly for each time of the day, at least I noticed some differences from this brunch menu and the menu I had a few weeks ago for lunch. The food is prepared to how you like it, which is super important for steaks and burgers. Food is flavorful - nothing I've tasted so far needed additional seasoning / salt / pepper. Such a great eating experience!
Very happy we went and had lunch here. Me and the wife always love trying new places, the Roosevelt Field Mall has really stepped up their restaurants selection. Loved the ambiance and the spacious dining room area. Very tasty food and great drink selection. Yes lunch specials are great and great portion too! If you’re in the area and hungry definitely stop by and order food or dessert and you won’t be dissatisfied!
I was invited to brunch with a small group of entrepreneurs there were about six of us for a potential collaboration opportunity. I ordered the salmon, and while the presentation was beautiful, the dish arrived cold. Unfortunately, the food being cold made me wonder if it had been prepared ahead of time and set aside in advance. That said, the atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous very clean, chic, and inviting. The space itself was beautifully maintained, and overall it was a lovely setting. Despite the issue with the temperature of the food, I would still recommend the restaurant.
Chicken and waffles were good, as was the hash. Not enough syrup with the chicken and waffles though. Overall not bad for a quick city like brunch feeling on the island. There are other options if you find there's a wait.
I’ve had a couple of dishes from Small Batch. What I will tell you is I would come here any time just for the Half Dozen Char-grilled east coast oysters, which are some of the best I’ve had over these past 5 years of being an Oyster eater and connoisseur (😂). Small Batch is a very nice place to go and catch a small meal and connect with friends, family, or a date. I’ve also order the steak frites which were also excellent, but didn’t take a pic. BTW - They make a helluva good Old Fashioned. 😉
Every time I go here, I have a good experience. Perfect for a solo dining as well, which is what I usually do. Often see parties, but they are always kept away from the main area which causes no conflict to other diners. They’re open kitchen is always a pleasure to see and their dishes are always enjoyable. I was there this weekend on a random trip not too hungry, but just wanting something to satisfy. And I think I’ve come up with my newest love and girl dinner. Decided on the grilled Caesar salad and the eggplant Parm. Both were literally perfect. And I must say I don’t ever want regular eggplant Parm again lol
Perfect place to get together on the weekends with friends for brunch. I liked shrimp and grits with roasted peppers, onions and fried egg. Rigatoni pasta with leek & Swiss chard is a great vegetarian dish and packed with flavors. They use good ingredients and all the dishes were cooked with care. I loved watching their open kitchen. Staff were friendly and professional, decor was warm and inviting. Many different selection of drinks. My friends had rounds of champagne and rose and I had lots of freshly brewed coffee. Easy parking and great location to meet up friends.
Came for brunch. Service was quick and friendly but food left much to be desired. Smoked salmon toast while generous was a bit bland. Pesto rigatoni was saves by the grated parmesan but can use more pesto The veal and ricotta meatballs were generous and certainly filling. Would have preferred them to be less dry. Sauce was good and sourdough as well. The poached eggs had one undercooked and the other overcooked.
This is a good place for brunch/lunch although the food falls short of what I would expect from one of Tom Colicchio's restaurants. The ricotta toast was yummy but looked like it was messily thrown together and not easy to share despite being listed on the appetizer menu. The main dishes were also average and did not have that extra kick or flare which makes a dish stand out from the rest. To sum up, some of the sandwiches from Wichcraft could give the mains here a run for their money.
I usually don’t give any reviews that are critical, but I have to, for the better of their restaurant. Firstly, I ordered 2 starters, the Crispy Artichoke and the Caramelized onion dip. The crispy artichoke was borderline salty and was almost as if they soaked the artichoke in lemon. It was so salty till the point I have to drink water with ever bite. The caramelized onion dip is as alright. The dip was a bit too bland and the caramelized onions just tasted like sweated onions. The potato chips were also so thin that I could see my finger from the other side and was basically undippable. For the entrees, I ordered the broccoli pesto rigatoni and eggs Benedict. The broccoli pesto rigatoni was bland and it looked like baby food. The “pesto” tasted like boiled broccoli and pepper, the portion size was small, and the pasta was borderline edible. The only good thing I can say about the eggs Benedict was the egg. The sauce was way too thin and their “ham” looked more like roast beef. Overall I would never come back or recommend this to anyone.
7/30/25 udpates Came here again for another try and got even disappointed.. we arrived around 6:15pm, wasn't too busy at that time. ordering food was fast. but the food took so long to be ready. we had grilled oyster for appertizer and it took about 30 mins to have it ready. when we got the food, it is clearly overcook and burned, the oyster shrink to very small and it doesn't taste good. we told the server about it, she said that's how it is... we later looked the photos other ppl post online, it's clearly ours are overcook. after that we waited another 30 mins for our main courses, while waiting we see other tables are waiting for their food as well. the kitchen area is open, so you can see they don't have too many staff in there. they seems pretty undersaff. for our main course, the Saffron spaghetti we had was with very very strong olive taste which i felt like it was too strong. other main courses were just ok, don't think the money we spent were worth the value. ---------------------- Went here serval times and always had good experiences. However this time the overall experience was pretty bad. Starting from the host. She doesn’t seems like where she is taking us, first to the furthest table then changed her mind(?) and bring us to the tables in the middle. Food ordering went smooth, got our drink and appetizer pretty fast. Then it’s long wait for our main course. There were quit a lot serves in restaurant but just so hard to get anyone to our table to ask for the status of our orders. Finally the main course came. We had salmon but it has no taste(just plain without seasoning). The duck confit is cook with garlic and oil but still has a strong smell. It’s very different from what we had before. Very disappointed. After that we had to wait for another 15 mins for our desserts. They were quit fast to give us the check compare to their speed on getting goods to our table.
