On 12/23, I proposed to my now fiancé at The Capital Grille, and I truly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the start, this moment required some pre-planning, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate every detail with genuine care and enthusiasm. Their willingness to help made what was already a special night turn into one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives. The service is absolutely unmatched, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who played a role in making our surprise engagement so seamless and meaningful. As always, the food never disappoints — I’m a massive fan of the ribeye, the lobster mac and cheese is a must, and you can never go wrong with the calamari. I’m always in awe of the consistency, the service, and the experience, and I’m beyond thankful to The Capital Grille for helping make our engagement night truly extra special.

Guys I swear their onion soup is THE BEST! You have to eat heeeere,I also got the filet mignon and the coconut cream pie for dessert,all of them were good and good portions for what you pay for,also the ambience is nice,perfect for a nice date or a fine dining experience. We decided to splurge for a night out and it was definitely worth it. We made a 5:00 reservation and I'm glad we did because the place was crowded when we arrived. We only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. I ordered the ribeye. My wife ordered the New York strip both medium and both were cooked to perfection...both so savory and delicious. We got a lobster and mac and cheese with okay but I'm not sure if it was worth the $28 and the asparagus. Jumbo cocktail was excellent and the margaritas were strong. The waitress was smiling and friendly and attentive. We had a great time and after the meal we walked to the mall to walk off our big meal.

I’ve dined at The Capital Grille many times, but my experience with Chowdhury truly stood out. From the moment we were seated, he brought a level of warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism that elevated the entire evening. He anticipated everything before we even had to ask, from perfectly timed wine refills to expert menu recommendations that were spot-on. The food was phenomenal and were coming back for him and the food!! (Chowdury Haque in Garden City).

I made a reservation for my husband on his birthday. We had a wonderful experience. Curtis was very personable knowledgeable and attentive. The wagu and wine was delicious and did pair well. They decorated the table with little celebration confetti and a birthday card. At the end of meal they presented him with a flourless chocolate cake with happy birthday neatly written on the plate in chocolate. Overall it was a fabulous experience from ambiance, food, & service.

This has been my 3rd birthday dinner I’ve done at Capital Grille and without a doubt still one of the best experiences. It is always a memorable experience and amazing food. This time around our waiter George G stood out with his hospitality, great recommendation and excellent service.

My husband and I met one of our dear friends at the Capital Grill this afternoon. She has been here before but It was our 1st time and wow, were we impressed. We were greeted by the hostess who heard we were celebrating a retirement and a birthday today. She returned to the table with a little birthday card and sprinkled stars & balloon party glitter on the white tablecloth. This was so creative and something I've never seen before. It was so cute. Our server Curtis was outstanding from beginning to end. His professionalism & friendly personality added to this wonderful experience. We started off with the fried calamari with cherry peppers. They were cooked perfectly. We all ordered from the " plate special" section of the menu. It came with a soup or salad and the main entree. We got the Caesar Salad, New England Clam Chowder, Butternut Squash Bisque and all three of us got the New York Strip Steak with duck fat fries & herb aioli. Everything was absolutely delicious. To my surprise Curtis brought out a special dessert for my birthday with blackout chocolate cake and their own special cheesecake which was out of this world! We also ordered the creme brulee which was a perfect finish to this awesome lunch! The Ambiance was really special and we look forward to coming back for the food, service & to see Curtis again. He was that great! It's the perfect place for a celebratory meal.

Hello my beautiful people, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I promise to do better. This place truly made me shake the dust off, and Ellyse made it even more special,OMG! When you get the chance (and I know you will), please give The Capital Grille a try. Ask for Ellyse! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service? Out of this world. Ellyse was knowledgeable, bubbly, and went above and beyond, she deserves a raise!

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at The Capital Grille, where our server Tiya was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious, and the appetizers, oysters and calamari, were a perfect start along with table side made martinis . The restaurant added a lovely touch with a birthday card and complimentary dessert. For mains, the ribeye and lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking, while the lobster mac and cheese was a delish. Portions were generous, making the higher prices worth it for a special occasion. A memorable experience! Hope to go back soon.

This place is definitely on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and service mostly justifies it. The meat was cooked to perfection, and both the small cup of clam chowder and the tuna tartare were excellent. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service was nice. However, the desserts were a letdown. Despite their appealing presentation, both were underwhelming—especially the cream tart, which unfortunately didn’t taste as good as it looked. Overall, a great spot for dishes and ambiance.

I had my graduation here a few years ago and the service and food were both fantastic. It was one of the best steaks I ever had in my life and they were very accommodating and kind to me and my large gathering. They had a special dessert plate which said "Congratulations" written on it which was super cool. I live in Queens and don't drive so it's difficult to say when I'll be back as it's tricky to get here through other means, but I will say that if the opportunity presents itself, I would love to return here one day and have the pleasure of enjoying another steak.

The Capital Grille being wholly owned (at least in the U.S.) by Darden Restaurants itself and not franchised is a great start. You absolutely get back the value you're paying for your meal in service and ambiance, even though nothing on this menu is cheap. The reason I say that Capital Grille being owned is a good start is because the place is run like it's own parent company. From what I noticed servers have specified sections to keep watchful eyes of, runners handle the expo process, and shift managers make it all come together pacing back and forth the dining floor. Every single time I put my water glass to the edge of the table it was refilled instantly (I'm forgetting our waitress' name, but she was incredible). Professional service, really impressive wine menu. Sporty "mancave" setting. Knowing this, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the food, and I was not. I ordered the sliced filet (I got it whole) with mushrooms and onions. It was as good as you can make a sous-vide then seared filet. Which I am not complaining about, it's a restaurant's favorite way to cook thick proteins and a lot of the time comes out better than any other way. Overall it was just solid, I didn't get served anything different, out there, wacky, or experimentational. And, with higher risk comes higher reward, I think Darden is okay delivering consistent steak staples, and if this is what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed nor surprised. I don't think much of the clientele appreciated the appetizers served in Staub and AllClad fixtures, but I did. Good on Darden for getting that corporate discount.

I would have given higher ratings if i was not sitting on a high chair table 5 football yards from the front desk. I should have been paid since it appeared we greeted all those that were waiting for their tables to be available. We were surrounded as is we were waiting to board a LIRR train. I was told when confirming reservation that table was not by the entrance which was a fib. Besides that distraction the Lobster Bisque, Sea Bass and Surf and Turf were excellent. The service was ok being in the front you dont get alot of attention. I was asking menu questions and my waitress said she will be back since she has to attend to other tables. I guess you need to know exactly what you want to limit the conversation. Granted this was my second time at Capital Grille, first time in the city. I recommend that you avoid the high chair seating near front desk unless you like guests breathing on your neck. I will return though only if I get a proper table in the dining area.

My fiancé and I went to The Capital Grille restaurant in Garden City on Long Island for her birthday dinner. She didn't want to travel to Manhattan, which we usually do to enjoy top-tier steakhouses, Michelin-starred restaurants, or hidden gems. We noticed that this restaurant was top-rated and recommended. I made a reservation, which was easy to do online. When I arrived, parking was tough, especially on busy nights and weekends, but they offer valet parking for about $8. I got lucky and found a parking spot nearby without valet. When we entered the establishment, we were greeted by a host who asked if we had reservations. They then took us to our table, which was a lovely booth. It took about seven minutes for our waiter, Demaxia, to come by after we were seated with menus. In the meantime, a gentleman came to our table and asked if we wanted house water or bottled water. We opted for the house water. Our server, Demaxia, came by and greeted us with a warm welcome. She was amazing, attentive, polite, and honest. We ordered a Caesar salad, a passionfruit mojito, and a virgin strawberry margarita to start. Those came out in a timely fashion. The salad was, honestly, the worst salad I've had at a restaurant. It was dry with no dressing, and the greens were wet and soggy. However, the Parmesan cheese was there. We couldn't enjoy the salad. The drinks were good, and we both enjoyed them. When we wanted to take a sip of the house water, we noticed a funny smell coming from either the cup or the water itself. At this point, we were not happy with the experience, as this was supposed to be a birthday dinner at a top-rated restaurant on Long Island. Demaxia came by and asked if everything was okay and if we were enjoying everything. We were honest and complained about the water and salad. We ordered our main courses, which included the chef-recommended bone-in Kona medium rare, miso butter seabass, mac and cheese without lobster, creamed spinach, and Sam's mashed potatoes. We also ordered a glass of Routestock Cab wine, which I was able to sample and try. Demaxia put the order into the kitchen and then came back and said the salad was comped off our bill. She also brought a new cup of ice water and two straws. Within four to five minutes, our food came to the table with gorgeous plating. The bone-in Kona paired perfectly with the Routestock wine. My fiancé said the seabass was good. During our time dining, Manager Richard came over and asked how our dinner was going and if we had any complaints. I was honest with him and let him know that the steak, seabass, drinks, and sides were phenomenal and the best steak I've had at a restaurant in NYC for the past year. The bone-in Kona is to die for. The mac and cheese was mediocre, but each restaurant has its own style, flavor, and texture when it comes to mac and cheese. Demaxia welcomed my fiancé with a dessert on the house for her birthday. We enjoyed our stay, minus the earlier hiccups. I would recommend this place to everyone and also recommend getting bottled water.

Beautiful restaurant with polite, respectful people. My friend surprised me for my birthday. Didn’t expect a thing. Went in and they had the table decorated just with birthday confetti and a card that says happy birthday. It was cute. Waiter was polite, came with bread and butter then took our order. Got the lobster Mac and cheese as an appetizer and honestly wasn’t impressed. Nothing special and lacked in cheese I feel. The scallops tho, that was amazing. Texture was perfect and the risotto was creamy. The chicken was perfectly cooked. They gave a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle. Felt like this was the cherry on top for my birthday dinner. Extremely impressed by my birthday dinner. Of course on the pricy side. Scallop dish was $68. Chicken dish was around $50. Lobster Mac and cheese was $30. It’s a beautiful restaurant for a special occasion and hoping to be back soon for another special occasion.
