Dairy Queen is just one-of-a-kind. This location is great with outdoor seating and friendly service.

Come for the ice cream, discover the food! DQ has the Blizzard, obviously - but you should also try the food they have too. The chicken basket is a great pick, with a good variety of sauces for dipping. The burgers are also great, with the flamethrower burger being a favourite.

Still as good as when I was younger. First visit to a DQ in 20 plus years( dam I'm old). Will definitely be coming back. The fries are still the best.

I've since moved out to North Carolina, and I miss this particular store badly. It was a staple of mine to swing by on Sunday afternoons for lunch. The food is terrific and reasonably priced.

There's not many Dairy Queens in this area, if you have to get your blizzard, this is a great place to go. There are plenty of seats. And the service is excellent, for a fast food restaurant.

The place is always busy. We went there on Mother's Day so it was a little more busy than usual. They have good fast service, they keep it clean. I like that they give you a number to put at the edge of your table and they bring you your food.

Plenty of parking with surprisingly friendly staff. Prices are reasonable for upstate NY. This location offers Grill & Chill menu items with a drive thru, carry out, or dining in. I did not see any Orange Julius menu items here. Blizzards were great. They offer good deals on the 2for$4 snack menu. Recommend visiting on a weeknight when it’s not so busy.

Always plesent! We prefer this Dairy Queen over the others we have frequented in the past. The staff is super kind. I don't think we have ever been disappointed with our food, and they never forget our pup! Today their dinning room was closed and we watched them accommodate a gentleman who couldn't access the drive thru.

I've loved DQ since I was a kid. It's been consistently great and I think that it is one of the better fast food chains. This location does get pretty busy at the drive thru however that's just evidence of how loved it is locally and also that the food isn't sitting around waiting for someone to claim it (I'm looking at you Roy Rogers). Great family atmosphere and there's plenty of space with picnic tables for that summer soft serve run with the kids.

By the time we went to pay in the drive through, we found out we left our debit card at home!! We told them we didn’t have enough loose cash to cover the bill but the cashier was nice enough to just take what we had and let us go with our blizzards. So friendly!!

Best soft serve ice cream around. They are a franchise and don't always go for same advertising as the national chain. There's a sign stating that at the drive up. They are a little pricey on some items.

What an energetic, courteous, helpful, patient group of young men & women work here. After 3 baseball games we went to this Dairy Queen with many families. The service was efficient and friendly. The owner of this franchise is so lucky to have this amazing staff!!!!

Had a whole line of cars but still got in and out of the drive thru in just a couple minutes. This place never seems to get your order wrong like a lot of fast food places do. They have a place to eat outside as well as indoors. Prices are okay but the food is not cheap in quality which makes it better overall to me.

Tis the local fast food...sorry Fan Food. Great place for a quick lunch. Friendly workers, good ice cream and not at a bad price. The ever changing selection of specials is a game changer especially for the meal deals. Lucky to have one so close!

My top 5. Dine in is open. Drive-thru is always packed, but there is fast service. There is outdoor seating as well. I'm surprised that they haven't expanded to a larger area.

Always good food and ice cream at Dairy Queen. Highly recommend. Just a thought tho that they should bring back the lunch specials that gave you more then just a few options. Right now it's only 2 to choose from.

DQ is great! The building and grounds are very clean and the food is tasty. Much better than McDonald's and Burger King! The DQ in Ghent is usually always busy, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but it's worth the wait!

I loved it. Clean establishment, friendly, went out of their way to bring my food to my table. Delicious food. I had the chicken fingers with Honey Mustard sauce. They gave me toast with that, and onion rings. It was a great afternoon spent time with my family and DQ. They have a friendly picnic area in the back, there's shade and a large parking lot. Drive thru seemed to go fast. Its worth the ride to drive here. I give them AAA++++

We drive an hour to visit this Dairy Queen seeing it’s our closest one! Once again they are worth the trip! The people that work there should be proud of the job they do! Sorry for all the exclamation points but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a well run restaurant. Everyone’s food was hot and well made and delicious. The ice cream is the greatest and I’m glad I had room for the legendary peanut parfait.

Tried the holiday nog a few weeks ago I absolutely love eggnog so was so excited to try this it blew my taste buds out of the water immediately first sip I replaced the vanilla with chocolate if there's a rating system I would have given it a 20 out of 10 my taste buds were in actual heaven......hopefully next year it sticks around for a longer time

If there were a Blizzard Hall of Fame, the Ghent Dairy Queen crew working at 11:45am on a Thursday would be inducted immediately—possibly with a parade in their honor. I have eaten many Blizzards in my lifetime, but what I received on this fateful Thursday morning transcended the frozen dessert category and entered the realm of culinary legend. The toppings? Not sprinkled, not scattered, but orchestrated—a symphony of mix-ins so generous and so evenly distributed that every bite was a crescendo of flavor. The blending? Impeccable. Michelangelo carved marble, these artisans sculpt Blizzards. Truly, the mixer operator must have been in a state of divine inspiration, guided by forces beyond mortal comprehension. I left not just satisfied, but transformed. My worldview shifted. My faith in humanity restored. If aliens land tomorrow asking for Earth’s greatest achievement, I will humbly present them with this Blizzard and point them directly to the Ghent DQ team. To the heroes of 11:45am Thursday: thank you for your service to flavor, joy, and humankind. You deserve medals, monuments, and probably your own Netflix documentary.

Had to go on a run for work, meaning 8 hours on the road. As we struck out, my co worker said "man I want Dairy Queen". I chuckled. "Sounds like a Plan!!". So, we completed our Detail. "Hey, I found 1, about 9 miles out of our way up 66." "No, never out of the way!". A nice scenic 10 minute ride, we found this nice little classic DQ location. Seems like they stay busy!! The staff was friendly, and after a few minutes, we got our orders. The youngsters working put the effort in their prep. Our food was good! Very pleased!! Would recommend this location to travelers lookin for a Hot Eat, or a Cool Treat!. Thank You DQ in Ghent! I had Double Cheese and Fried Cheese Curds side. Partner had same with a Shake.

Fantastic place to eat. The fries are hot and tasty they don't leave them under the light. Everything is made fresh when it's ordered. We also love the shakes so thick and delicious. Loads of chocolate for me. My wife loves the strawberry shakes big pieces of strawberries. The staff is very friendly every time we visit.

I hadn't been to a DQ in a long time but I was there and I had to eat and eat quickly. I was amazed at how much food I got for the $$$....and it was good! I'll be stopping in again.

A little pricey but honestly the food and the blizzards are worth it. I recommend the strawberry cheesecake blizzards or the drumstick. The employee was a little rude but it was ok.

Tried the new Alaskan Pollack. For a fast food place (I know it doesn't consider itself fast food) this was a good sandwich as far as the fish went. Crispy coating. Not outstanding flavor but good. The lettuce and tartar sauce were ok. The onion rings however, YUM. Also perfectly cooked. I shouldn't be eating fried food but I indulge occasionally. I know it's cooked correctly when I don't experience pain after eating I know, tmi. But they were good.

The bathroom was clean and the service was good and timely. The food and ice cream was good also. The drive thru wasn't a long wait either, all around a good experience.

Best pretzel sticks & cheese & of course the ice cream is awesome but once again they changed the menu & got rid of a few of my favorites, guess they weren't favorite enough by others...😒

My girlfriend, myself, and our granddaughter, went into Hudson for the day. We were on our way home and decided we wanted something cold. When we got there, the place was packed. There was a line all the way around the building for the drive thru. The line however went very quickly. We placed our order. #1 with onion rings instead of fries with a Sprite. A double cheese burger with a large pb shake without whip and a large strawberry shake with whip. The food was fresh and hot. The onion rings were were made from real onions and not minced. The shakes were delicious as always. Only minor issue was the pb shake ended up having whipped cream on it when it was ordered without. From someone who has spent 30+ years in retail management, I give the visit a 9 out of 10. Great job.

Miss Dairy Queen, had to stop on the way back from Massachusetts. I was famished! Saw this earlier in the day, so we stopped. Meal was very good, friend's Blizzard very good as well! Better than McDonald's.

Food was ok. Chicken basket was great. Ordered a hotdog with ketchup and I couldn't taste the hotdog way too much ketchup on it. Also the bun wasn't toasted. I'm pretty sure they used to do that. Overall it was a good experience.

The place was packed inside and out. Drive through was slow. All employees were most pleasant though, including the owner, who actually cracked jokes and smiled TO EVERYONE! The restauarant was super clean, bathroom was a pleasure to use, and food was sinfully good as always, even the chicken salad left you satisfied (though could use a Southwest variety like neighboring McDonald's, some black beans, corn, and Newman's SW dressing). Offer that and we could save gas too by NOT having to trek to neighboring McDonald's in Valatie. Although DQ has the best choices of cold teas! Oooohh, the green tea! Awesome experience.

Staff was very friendly. Food was good and hot the only negative thing that happened was I didn't get my fries with my combo meal, when I went up to get them the cashier was very polite and said they'd get them for me but after waiting for 15 minutes I never received them.

Long line at the drive-thru but went very quickly and expected on a Friday evening. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Order process without incident and was served hot and accurate. Food is what should be expected from a fast food establishment but better than others.

The owner has smiley days but noticeably does not greet and treat all patrons the same. The employees look you in the eyes when talking, are fun, efficient and super kind always. The food was good enough, and the place was clean and seasonally festive. Maybe the owner can learn from his employees.

We really enjoyed the retro look of this Dairy Queen, in its original barn-shaped building. The staff are friendly and helpful, great service. And the food was excellent! We had the lunch special of cheeseburger, fries , drink AND a dessert of sundae at a price that's more than competitive with any fast food place around here. Food is prepared fresh, with fresh tomato slice, onion and lettuce on fresh bun for the burger. That tasted fantastic. They bring the food right to your table,. Fast and friendly service with delicious freshly prepared food and dessert at that price? We'll be returning, definitely! You'll enjoy the experience, I think. This is also a wonderful ice cream shop, so be prepared to be tempted with a fine varietiy of flavors. Since this is stll Summer, there's also outdoor seating to enjoy the day.

Not too many DQ's around anymore. My sister and I were out for the day and she wanted soft serve. Was very busy place. The Brazier burgers smelled delicious. We enjoyed our snacks. Many choices of Blizzards to choose from.

We drive over from Western Massachusetts because it is the closest in proximity to where we live. Always a pleasant drive over to this New York location. The line is always a decent size for waiting to order wether you venture in or head through the drive thru lane. They keep it moving pretty fast and now you can even place your order ahead for pickup through the DQ app on your smart phone. We decided to try it today to see how it worked out… we got our entire order correctly bagged and all accounted for and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. All of our sodas were bubbly and tasted proper… which is refreshing for a fast food restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their orders which were all prepared properly and were delicious. After enjoying our lunches we headed back through to get the new Fall collection Blizzards…. Reese Pieces Cookie Dough was amazing, and Reese Peanutbutter cup was also amazing as well. They always flip the Blizzards over before they hand you them and they never slide out of the cups so thick and creamy and chalk full of candies! All in all very good lunch experience we parked by the picnic tables near their grassy lawn out back and it was very pleasant.

This place has outdoor seating and carryout only taking care of protecting the customers. Friendly service staff. I have to give 4 stars because there was no option for veg or vegans except cold salad.

This DQ is a legit time machine back to the 80's, so I do love going here. The atmosphere is great the food is solid the employees are all local kids who obviously want to work there and in general the service is decent. The only reason I can't give it a full 5 star rating is that it does seem like every time I'm there something gets messed up. Now, generally I'm there with a large group of kids who have just finished a game. But every time I'm there with a large group, something gets messed up and of course the coach (me) has to fix it. Last time someone ordered a 6 piece chicken strip basket and got 4 and it took 20 minutes to fix. Other than that it's a great time travel experience.

Long line moved pretty fast, and service was good, however my grilled chicken sandwich was over cooked and dry. I got vanilla ice cream instead of the chocolate I had ordered

Handycap people have to walk around building to the front to enter, when there is a locked back door for exit only near the handycap parking. Very inconvenient. Food was good.

The drive thru is designed in such a way that customers who park and eat in get trapped in the parking lot when the line gets long. The food quality varies depending on the day you go.

It's ok, a little pricey for what you get. Although now they put the burgers in boxes not wrapped in paper. It was good for a quick meal but could've went to a place like Applebees for the same price.

The is ice cream is definitely not good quality. But if you are looking for a quick and cheap option this is the place. They have OK service and I wish they had seating inside.

my first dq experience. it's wonderful to have this option in an area that has NO fast food. the double cheeseburger was great, but not quite as good as I had been told. Fries were slamming. service was excellent.

It takes forever in the drive thru. We had a semi long line and it took over 20 minutes to get my food and that's just being nice with the time. They need to figure out a better way to make that system work.

Slow service. Overpriced. Try O'Kenneys in Valatie or Holy Cow in Red Hook - both have GREAT ice cream at half the price!

Food wasn't all the best. And went through drive thru for 2 blizzards after and waited 32 minutes with only one person ahead of me. Just to come to the conclusion they were not good and melting.

Oder arrived quickly with an error, which we explained. The corrected item was never delivered. When we finally checked, they had forgotten.

After seeing a dairy queen commercial I decided it was time to try the brownie batter blizzard. The first few bites were ok, but after eating the bigger chunks it seemed as if the brownie batter was actually hot cocoa powder.. the grittiness was gross.

Food is great but staff has no costumer service went through the drive thru the person told me to take a minute and look on the menu and see what i wanted came back on then told me long after the kitchen was closed its only ice cream they're serving. However went inside and they totally ignored me at the back giggling passing me like they never saw me and then a young lady then came from the back and ask me what i wanted because the kitchen was close at 8: 15 before i actually say what i wanted very rude staff. One told me kitchen is closed 8 minutes ago when it was 8:08 and one said kitchen close 8:15 and i was buying not begging for food no manners what soever learn good costumer service

I hardly dine here anymore as they close early. I usually work past 8 and can't get there 30 minutes before they close. Last time I came I was early enough or so I thought, but there was a long line and they were taking orders slow. Finally when I was second in line to order I heard a worker say to the person running the register "the kitchen is now closed! " I had worked all day and was really hungry. I had waited in line way to order so long that when it was my turn to order the grill was closed and only ice cream was being served. There was at least 10 people behind me in line. At least 7 cars in the drive through line. What is wrong with this place? They close so early and they have customers waiting who want to be served. I wonder why they can't at least keep the kitchen open till their actual posted closing time? I know it takes time to clean up a kitchen but since they close early maybe they could keep the grill open until 830pm maybe? This is the second time it has happened to me. I usually go to the A&W because they stay open later.

Have no explicit complaint on time or service. However, food quality was poor. Family and I had Blizzards. All 4 had all the candy in the first third, the second was the chocolate fudge barely mixed in with the vanilla, and the last third at the bottom was just plain vanilla. The taste of them was good, but we expect the candy to be throughout the blizzard and not just on top. I'd just get a sundae if that's what I wanted.

Sucked was twist cone with dip one small one med both were sane size and all melted and all over the cone taste like ice milk not ice cream and there was barely any chocolate in twist ice cream was flavorless

Literally never get my order right. I ask for no bacon, usually there's bacon. The times they don't put the bacon, they put whipped cream when I said in person AND in the app no whipped cream. I'm just done. I am going elsewhere from now on

The 1 gold star is for the chocolate/Oreo blizzard I had from DQ last week. The chicken strips I swear, were heated up from some already made. One order was for 3 strips: there was only 2. The only condiment we got was a bunch of catsup. We wanted barbecue sauce…there was none. That blizzard cost me $18.99 plus tax.

Tried to come here during a non busy time, only ordered one thing of French fries for my son, after first trying to overcharge me by ten dollars, the girl working the drive thru window, instead of serving the one car in front of me, and moving the line along so I could get my food in a timely manner, and without it being cold, proceeded to have a ten minute conversation with the vehicle Infront of me, until I decide to drive off... What a joke.

Food was cold staff was LITERALLY a bunch of children walked around for 5 min no lie with my food an ice cream calling out wrong table number after I told staff 5 times it was our food come to find out it WAS OUR FOOD AN THEY SET IT ON COUNTER WENT BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING AN THEN TRIED AGAIN AFTER CONTINUE TO TELL ME IT WASNT MINE VERY FRUSTRATING

We drove 45 minutes to take a ride and get ice cream for the family including two young kids. Arrived 35 minutes before closing and found a packed driveway thru and dining room. It was a hot day, I get it. We are thinking the same thing, a cold treat and smiles on the kids. We were told by young employee at the counter that they weren’t taking any more walk up orders and they would not serve us inside. I did not see any signs or instructions explaining this. We were referred to the drive thru which wraps around by the front entrance to place an order. During this time the wait has now increased beyond reasonable at the drive up and we observe them still filling dining room orders. We decided to cut our losses and go elsewhere. Been going to DQ since I was a kid and wanted to share with my own kids. Very disappointed in our experience.

Ordered three meals as soon as they opened asked for two out of the three meals with onion rings instead of fries. Ended up with all friend. Called and spoke with the person that took my order. Stated I never ordered them even after she repeated the order. Finally got annoyed and said guess I'm the moron even though you repeated the order. The she say ok thank you and hangs up. Great quality staffing. Will not be returning!

You have a serious problem on your hands Dairy Queen!!! I was treated with disrespect and a lack of care. what I saw today was the saddest excuse of “hard work” I’ve ever seen. The young lady who took my order is named lizzy and she definitely needs to think of a career path that doesn’t involve customer service. She is just flat out rude and unlikable. She has gotten my order wrong the last 3 times I’ve been there and consistently has a nasty look on her face that makes you almost not hungry anymore.

This Dairy Queen needs serious work on their customer service skills. When walking into the building I was the only customer inside and 2 cars were in the drive through. I waited for 5-10 minutes while staff just stood and talked about theirs lives loudly. Once someone came over to take my order I told them I did have a big ice cream order ( 8 items) a worker said “Oh yay” in a sarcastic manner in the back. I also let them know of a nut allergy just to be safe. When ordering the worker seemed annoyed and sighed when I asked her to read back my items to make sure everything was right. Only one item was wrong and when asked to be corrected, the staff was annoyed and huffed. I spent over $50 on ice-cream and I understand people have bad shifts/days but you should still be polite to your customers when they are polite to you.

I ordered a hamburger meal with fries, the cashier delivered my food, hamburger in one hand and fries in the other. He carried the fries with his hand over top of the container some of the fries were sticking out the top and touching his palm. I complaint to a manager and she and the cashier both came over to argue with me. I advised manager that the cashier is handling money then touching customers food is a health department violation. She disagreed. Im contacting the Columbia County health department and hopefully they will have a talk with the business.

I ordered 6 double cheese burgers, had no mustard or ketchup on them,ordered 5 large fries never received them sodas were flat.my family and I go to dq,at least 4 to 5 times a month, well after this. It will be the very last time,I highly do not recommend this dq.these days customers should get their money worth.what a waste of $60.00.

Horrible experience!!! I tried to use the current deal of buy a 6 piece chicken basket and get a kid's meal free. I had the bar code up on my phone and when I got to the window I held the phone up for the girl to scan the code. She said no she needed to take the phone that she didn't scan phones. I said no and she grabbed my phone right out of my hand and left the window with it. I kept screaming for my phone back. Not body responded. She came back approx. 5 mins later I took my phone from her. She said she needed to get a manager code and needed my phone back. I told her no keep the food and I left. Mr. Stein, the owner, called me several days later and denied everything. Said none of the staff admitted to taking my phone. He was extremely rude and said he was not aware of any deal with the kids meal and would need to check with corporate. He just kept asking what I wanted him to do. He offered me a kids meal. I'm not looking for free food. I want my phone checked out to make sure nothing was done to my phone. He said not happening and hung up. Very poor customer service at this location from the employees to the owner. Beware!!!
