Loved this restaurant! Super cool patio and location in downtown Gladewater! The food was amazing! We shared a Boil Pot with Snow Crab, Shrimp, corn & potatoes. Price was great- under $30 for two people! Service was fantastic! We can’t wait to go back for the Fried Catfish!

This place is our go to spot when we can't make it to Florida. Every time we go the food is outstanding, the service outstanding and the overall vibe is there for a seafood restaurant. Making the 1.5 hour drive just to enjoy the Skippers Pier!

Wow what a surprise to find such a great seafood restaurant in the middle of no where east TX. Let's start with our Amazing server Ali!! She made a great meal into an amazing experience!! We started off with homemade root beer that had depths up flavor I've never experienced with any root beer and it paired surprisingly well with the seafood. For the appetizer we started with the Boudin egg rolls with jalapeno jelly. The egg rolls were very good but with the addition of the jalapeno jelly it was elevated to extraordinary. Main course consisted of 2lbs of boiled shrimp and 1lb of snow crab legs for my wife and I. Cooked to perfection made shelling both really easy. Medium spice level was just right. Our son had the Cheeto Bandito burger and as a picky eater he smashed it. The fries were battered and seasoned perfectly. Then came the Chocolate Tower dessert. This will be hard to describe in writing but just think about taking a bite of a super fluffy airy cake that finishes like a really dense brownie. I know its hard to imagine but you just have to try it.

The drive from marshall to Gladewater was definitely worth it. We decided to try this place because we seen on fb how big the crawfish was and they were only 4.99 a pound. I absolutely can't wait to go back. It's a fun atmosphere and definitely kid friendly. They have a great menu and the food was perfect. Me the husband and my daughter got crawfish. They looked like baby lobsters they were so big. The flavor was excellent. My son got the catfish plate, and damn they was delicious. We had a great server. I can't remember her name but everyone in there was super polite. Also after you're done eating there's so many shops and places to go around it. We left super full and super happy

Great place to eat while in Gladewater. Portions are large. Food is excellent. The staff was great. You could easily feel like you were eating at a place in Galveston when you are inside & not out on the patio. If you're in glade water and you kind of want an ocean vibe with excellent food and service. Is this a place to go. They didn't have live music. While we were there, but there is music throughout the restaurant. It was great.

I took my mother there for lunch today. Juanita was a very attentive server. She made sure we had refills and asked if we needed anything else. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for the appetizers. My mother had the Fried Plate with Calabash Fried Shrimp while I had the Pineapple Boat with Baja Shrimp. Everything was delicious and their portions were generous. We needed take-home boxes because there was a lot of food. We look forward to returning and trying their other menu items. We had a great dining experience.

Well Hellloooo East TX! We came to Gladewater for a show at the Jackson Theatre last night and saw this place was hoping’ so we decided to come for lunch today! IF you are anywhere near this place- PLEASE do yourself a grand favor and pop in! Let’s start with the apps. Fried Green Tomatoes. Perfect! The coating was a light textured batter, looked like a cornmeal, which is how I remember them from GA. The seasoning was exact- not salty! The remoulade sauce was freshly made and a perfect compliment to these beautiful green tomatoes. And they were really green and the perfect thickness. Honestly! Then my fish and chips- ok, the coating was a gorgeous, truly southern, calabash batter that just melted in your mouth! Again, NOT SALTY! It was light and just barely there and tucked underneath was an equally gorg white fish, perfectly cooked and seasoned! So I luv it when you can flake away the coating and the fish can stand alone! This was poetry! Really! My HoneyLamb had the pick 2 and he chose the fried shrimp which he ate so fast I never got to even see them but then the fried catfish! Also, it looked like a cornmeal batter and he said it was outstanding. The fries are coated and again just perfectly seasoned- NOT SALTY! So I keep saying this because most often all you taste with these dishes is the salt- not here! Honestly- perfection! Now- the potions are absolutely prehistoric and I mean that in a good sense- two could eat off one plate but then you’d loose the opportunity to taste more than one dish😂 we took a lot home! Then our lovely Kenzie(sp) suggested their banana cream cheesecake. Holy moly, it was so light and smooth and fluffy! Please - save room for that, as Kelsey said, it is sourced locally and made with luv! You can taste it and you can feel it! This was our #honeymoonhijinks extravaganza - we just had our church wedding Saturday so this was a real treat for us. We drove in from San Antonio. The folks in this town are so friendly - and this food was so good - WE WILL BE BACK! Tinker Mass Schultz & Ray Schultz SATX

Hit them on the last weekend of their crawfish season and practically drove across the state to get this. Great service from everyone here and the food was huge portions for not a lot of money. Ate until we all thought we were going to explode and I didn't think I was going to be able to walk out almost from being just too full and headed for a food coma. The butter sauce complemented the potato excellently as expected. It was pretty packed here and it didn't seem to let up really. I can understand why.

Just ate here tonight and it was the BEST meal since we moved to Texas a couple of years ago. I am picky about my fried food and these people know how to do it without overcooking and with no aftertaste. We came on a busy Friday night, but were greeted and seated within 8 minutes of arriving. Emma was a great server and had us our food on a crowded night within ten minutes of taking our order. She came back and checked on us as well. All in all a wonder dining experience at a great price!

Food and service is great with Southern hospitality. They must stop when you're running through town. Don't forget to get you some catfish and gumbo. The boudin egg rolls are outstanding!!

Amazing place! We had the egg roll boudin and the banging shrimp for the apptizer. Enough to share! The pick 2 was a great deal. We chose chicken strips and catfish. Very delicious! Will definitely go back.

Great food. Just terrific. Was a bit too crowded last time, looks like it's getting popular. We had to eat outside in the cold, but was worth it. Looks like in the future we might have to leave as I won't wait more than 2 or 3 minutes. Looking for a nearby backup restaurant but hope we'll never have to use it.

On a business trip to Alabama and stopped in gladewater at this little gem. My husband is a chef and being able to taste Cajun in the south instead of the southwest makes a big difference. Husband had the gumbo and I tried the 1/2 pineapple with chicken , fried okra , rice and veggies. We shared the best rum breadpudding I have ever tasted. The atmosphere was great here too. Looking at is from the outside I thought it was empty . But don’t let that fool you. This place was happening ! Excellent service too

There was about a thirty minute wait for a table for two. We got seated and was not waited on until we asked one of the waitresses when she walked by. The food made up for any inconveniences that we had! I ordered the Catfish/Ètouffee, and my wife ordered the Salmon pineapple boat. We will be visiting this restaurant again in the near future!!

We went for Mother’s Day. For appetizers we ordered mozzarella sticks and hush puppies. Both were generous portions. I didn’t try the mozzarella sticks, but had the hush puppies. They were perfectly cooked, still moist in the middle but nicely crisp on the outside. Then we had crawfish and shrimp boil, shrimp etouffee, and fried catfish Opelousas. Every meal was generous and delicious. It was my first experience with catfish, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Etouffee was tasty and well-seasoned. The side dish of vegetables was bright and appetizing and did not disappoint. Finally we had the chocolate tower. It was super rich and decadent. We were so glad we shared between 3 adults and a preschooler and still we brought home about half of it! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Skipper's Pier was great. I got the fish and chips and I was very satisfied. For someone who eats quite a bit and who enjoys fish, their portion was so humongous that I was not able to finish my entire plate. I took the rest home. Their service was great and the floor was clean. I enjoy the way they welcomed us in and were very informative with their explanations. I told our waiter it was my first time so she gave me her recommendation. A fun place 👍👍

It was our first time at Skipper's yesterday, 4/03/24. We arrived 7pm and were told it'd be a 30-35 minute wait. We were happy to wait since it was our first trip and we drove about 40 minutes to come try it. While we waited my fiancé went to the bar to order us drinks. He said he was served promptly but was told by the bartender that the restaurants computer system was down so they were having difficulty. I will also share that he got a single shot of liquor and it cost $8, seemed a bit steep but no complaints. We were sat at a booth exactly after a wait of 35 minutes. Once sat we were told again that the system was down so they couldn't take orders but would be happy to get us drinks while we wait. Again, no issue. We appreciated the honest communication! By the time we did order it was 8:30. We ordered crawfish boat 3 hot and boudin egg rolls. The food was amazing!! We would come back for the egg rolls alone. The crawfish is the best we've had in East Texas from flavor to size. Overall we will return to skippers. They were communicative about issue, great food, and great atmosphere. A special thanks to the sweet server who continued to stop and talk to our baby. She kept him distracted and giggly!

My wife and I love this place. We took our relatives with us, ordered several different items including a crawfish boat and ate family style. I was pleasantly surprised by the fried catfish filets. Great restaurant in a quaint town. Go enjoy.

Went for an early dinner on Fat Tuesday, they were out of Mich Ultra tap and bottle ??? Also very busy not enough staff . The portions of food were huge ! Highly recommend!! This is my usual stop in this area and I've been coming for a couple months now. The staff are very friendly and Accommodating and even when the place is packed they manage to stay on top of things, ive never had to wait long on anything. The food is great and even more so when you consider the reasonable price of everything ( get the grilled catfish trust me) They have a pretty good beer selection that is growing and they do have two IPA's and one APA on tap which is surprising for the area. Overall a great family dinner stop or a great chill spot to chat with cool people and watch a game.

Easy Sunday evening! We walked in we were sat at a table right away. Within 5 minutes our waitress came and took our drink order. When the food arrived it was cooked to perfection. The fish steam coming from it as we broke a piece off. We stepped out on a limb and tried something new. It was a great choice.

Very good food, fast and attentive service. Had gumbo, fried green tomatoes cabrese, and calabash fried shrimp, all very tasty. Orange crush cocktail very refreshing. There is usually a waiting list and it's easy to see why. Bonus tip: bring cash! They pass the bank's 3% fee (that they get charged) on to you if you use your card.

First time here. Service and food were outstanding. Started with the Boudain Egg Rolls with Jalapeno Pepper Jelly. They were good and unusual but I will try something else next time. You should try them at least once. After a few more trips I would order them again. Garlic bread was excellent. I had the large gumbo and it was fantastic. Plenty of flavor. Picture was after I has started eating but it was LOADED with plenty of shrimp, crawfish and sausage. No skimping here! Wife had the boiled pot of shrimp and crab legs. Again, NO SKIMPING! She ordered it medium but next time we will up the seasoning. It was LOADED and we brought home enough for another meal.

What a hidden gem this is! The perfect place to stop for a hearty meal after a day of antiquing in Gladewater. The portions are massive and the prices are great. We had the catfish etouffe, the Baja chicken salad, and the gumbo. Everything was absolutely delicious and our server was lovely and very helpful with the menu (I’m from MA so there was a lot of new-to-me foods here). While I have literally no complaints, I will say, it was a little disappointing that I couldn’t try a single crawfish. I’m not sure it would be that hard to just toss an extra one in and charge me a few bucks for it lol. The tourists really want to try your wares! I just don’t want to have to buy ten of them first! Just a suggestion, maybe sell crawdads by the each for us hesitant newbies. Our server mentioned she gets asked about this a lot but the restaurant owner just won’t allow it. Perhaps they’ll see this review. 😇

My boyfriend, little girl, and I had the pleasure of dining at Skipper’s on Sunday for our Valentine’s date. Everything was perfect! We always love going there. Boudin egg rolls are a must & the dirty bird/fire bird the portions are huge. My favorite waitress is the girl with the moth/butterfly tattoo on her chest (can’t remember) she is literally the sweetest and has the best personality. My favorite spot for seafood and in my hometown win win.

We must have arrived at just the right time - 11:45 am on a Saturday - as we got seated immediately, though there was quite a wait by the time we left. The food was fantastic and the amount of food was awesome for the price. We went home with leftovers! I had the salmon pineapple boat and he had the fried gator and crawfish, and we shared the fried bacon. Absolutely recommend, and worth the drive from Tyler just to get some good food. We'll be back to try more on the menu! Update: We've been back 4 times in the last few months and have decided to try every item on the menu, so we'll be back even more. So far NOTHING is bad! You can't go wrong with any item. And no matter what time of day we come even if there's a wait it never feels like long, and the wait is worth it anyway.

I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place!!! Skipper’s Pier is our go-to every single Saturday during crawfish season! The crawfish is always superb, the drinks are great, and the service is absolutely top-notch. They never disappoint. If you love good food and a fun atmosphere, this is the place!

Skipper's Pier serves up top-notch boil platters which are gluten free. We ordered shrimp, Snow crab and Dungeness crab with mushrooms. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. We highly recommend getting the Dungeness Crab because the shells break easily and you can get larger chunks of meat. Make sure to order melted butter and extra lemons so you are ready to dive in while it's hot. I recommend a one glove on, one glove off approach to decrease mess. The additional creamy drizzle on the top of the boil was a great, tasty touch. Make sure to order their Honey Butter Hushpuppies some time during your meal. The hushpuppies are also gluten free. We enjoyed ours as a sweet, final course. It was the perfect ending to a flawless meal. Our server, Lexi, kept our drinks full and iced for our entire experience. Great food and great service for a great price is why we will return if ever in the area again.

My wife and I were promptly greeted, seated, and waited upon. Sarah, our waitress, was friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was appropriate. The temperature where we were seated was a bit cool. We ordered the fried fish and shrimp etouffee. Large fillets and delicious (with a capital D) etouffee! "Wow!" Would be appropriate. The cheesecakes, if you can fit them in, are a great choice for dessert. If this helps, please like my review 💛

Love the food here! The staff has always been great. Typically, if you show up around the busy times there will be a wait but its absolutely worth it. My favorite dish is the Catfish Opelousas. I always tell myself to order something else when I go but I can never seem to follow through. The Bangin Shrimp appetizer is also a great start to your meal.

The place was great. Food was hot and so good. Staff were very nice and service was great. I will definitely be going back. So many options on the menu I can't wait to try more. As you walk through the restaurant you can't help but look at everyone else food. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Hubby and I went 2/6/26 for date night. Parked down a block or 2. Walked around the corner and saw the line. Had to go in and get on the list. Was IMMEDIATELY blasted with COLD air when it a pleasant 76 outside. Went back in line and was grateful I grab my jacked. Didn't take 5 minutes to be notified they were ready. Rainy was our waitress and she did not disappoint. She answered our questions with ease. Raw oysters were soo good. Had a sweetness to them that you don't normally find. Gumbo was something we will be getting again! Got the crab boil! There were certain spots that were really salty but it was the roughness of the cold inside that turned hot food cold quick. Drinks are pricey so we may stick to something else. Over all it was nice and we already talking about going back. Almost forgot to take some pictures due to us being hungry!

I had the three piece catfish, and I needed a to-go box. The food was very good and the service as too. Some restaurants serve a flat kinda chewy fish. The kind that seems a bit less than enjoyable, but this this meal was three lightly breaded thick fillets, plenty of hot tasty fries, good coleslaw, and the sauces were perfect. Also, I had a side of fried mushrooms that was very good. To drink, I had unsweet tea. No complaints at all.

This was not my first time eating here . Possibly the first of the year . One thing I must say is that since they opened they have been a favorite Cajun Seafood Restaurant for me to eat at. No matter what you order it’s always fresh, hot and seasoned great . That being said my visit on January 6, 2026 it was no surprise my food was amazing. As usual the restaurant was busy so I sat at the Bar with Landri! Just an absolute pleasure watching her work the bar area and the tables in the bar area . I usually like to try a different draft and she recommended the Cali Squeeze Draft . It was delicious 🤤. Yes I had two . 🍺. I asked for a dozen oysters 🦪 on the half shell followed by the Tuesday night special Popcorn Shrimp Plate . Oysters were cold 🥶 and so tasty . The Popcorn Shrimp Plate is always excellent. Plus more than enough to eat . All in all it’s just a wonderful reminder of why I drive from Longview Texas to Gladewater Texas to eat a delicious meal. Atmosphere was perfect. Again Landri was an ADHD superpower . She told me she was going to the gym after work . Couldn’t ask for a better server or a bartender. Skipper’s Pier must love 💕 her .

Kim Gray

Greg and I stopped in for a quick bite on our way to the casinos in Louisiana, and I was thrilled to see Landry behind the bar. I remembered her from the previous ownership, and she’s only grown sharper, warmer, and more impressive. She immediately picked up on our playful banter, matched our energy, and treated us like old friends. Smart, quick-witted, and genuinely attentive—Landry is the kind of bartender who elevates the entire experience. And the food? Whoever is back there in the kitchen deserves a medal. The chicken tenders look simple on the menu, but do not be fooled—these things are enormous, juicy, and downright addictive. Absolutely some of the best I’ve ever had, and surprisingly underrated considering how out-of-this-world they are. Between the great service and the incredible food, this place is absolutely worth the drive.

Skippers Pier Coastal Cajun Kitchen is a place I’ve driven by many times over the years and I’ve never thought about stopping. I usually drive by when I’m heading out of town for work. That all changed when I saw some food they posted on Facebook and I just knew I had to try it. This time I brought my whole family (wife and 3 boys) with me and we ordered a little bit of everything. After a little 30 minute drive, we finally pulled up. The place was packed and I now understand why. We were sat at a table and quickly approached by our server. Her name was Rainee and she was phenomenal the entire time. We ordered a few appetizers (fried green tomatoes, mozzarella cheese sticks, and the hot Cheeto elote). While waiting for them to come out, we went ahead and placed our food order. I got 3lbs of crawfish, Double Play (1lb of snow crab, 1lb of boiled shrimp, corn, potatoes, and butter), Baja shrimp pineapple boat, Baja shrimp creamy cajun pasta, and the bacon cheddar ranch chicken sandwich. Shortly after ordering our entrees, the appetizers showed up. I forgot to get a picture of them before we started to dig in, but the fried green tomatoes and the cheese sticks were both equally delicious!!! They each came with a different dipping sauce and they added so much flavor. The hot cheeto elote was very good, although the corn was a bit on the colder side. We didn’t mind at all and still devoured it. Then the real food started showing up. I had a chance to try everyone’s food and I honestly couldn’t think of a single complaint and neither could my family. Everything was incredible. The Cajun pasta was creamy and very well seasoned and the shrimp that came with it were perfectly cooked. The chicken sandwich was not only massive, but it was very tender and also full of flavor. My oldest son’s pineapple boat was one of my favorite things I tried. The queso on top was such a nice touch to the dish. It was almost too pretty to eat. The crab boil with the shrimp and the crawfish came out a few minutes after. My favorite part was the crawfish not even being spicy at all. We ordered the mild. They still had plenty of seasoning and flavor for my family. They were also cooked just right. The snow crab didn’t last very long at the table. We destroyed it within minutes of it being on the table. Same with the boiled shrimp. Last but definitely not least was the dessert😍. We ordered 2 different kinds of cheesecakes and we also got the bread pudding with the rum sauce. Both cheesecakes were heavenly, but I’m not surprised, seeing as they were made by Dana Hale with Dana’s Cheesecake Delights herself. My favorite was the banana pudding cheesecake. My wife’s favorite was the key lime and white chocolate cheesecake. My kids loved them both. On to that bread pudding!!! It was really warm, so we had to wait a minute, but once it cooled off, we made quick work of it. It was definitely some of the best bread pudding that I’ve had in a good while. I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough and I know myself and my family will definitely be making the short drive more often. If you’re looking for some great seafood with plenty of other options to choose from, I encourage y’all to try Skippers Pier Coastal Cajun Kitchen.

Had been wanting to try out this spot since they opened like 3yrs ago, had the dog with us tho so we ordered to go. Picked up our food and our nachos were the more expensive shrimp instead of the chicken we asked for, then there were also 2 other items added onto our total. The food had a good taste, but made me sick to my stomach and ended up being very expensive with all the extra add-ons.

Great stop while we were antiquing there on a Friday. Helpful staff, great atmosphere. Didn’t get it but the honey chicken looked amazing!!!

Great place, pricey food but that's expected for "cajun" or seafood. GREAT STAFF. Samuel our waiter was the bomb. Crawfish was on point for Feb. I'm sure by April it'll be best. This place has been great both times. No 5 stars because of the price and wait time but that's okay.

We ate here for the first time. I had crab legs they seemed over cooked and old tasting. Fried green tomatoes were greasy. My husband had catfish dinner is was excellent. Atmosphere was kinda loud and really needed updated. Not sure if we will return. Maybe for the catfish.

Please stop servi g tap beer in plastic cups. The food is great, but the place does get busy on weekends requiring a little bit of a wait. My only complaint thus far is the plastic cups for tap beer. And maybe a little nicer restroom.

First time eating at this establishment. Service is phenomenal! This restaurant was recommended by a local shop owner. The exterior is deceiving as to what the interior will look like. Five of us ate there, so there were a variety of dishes ordered. The menu allows for many options. At first glance I did not believe there were options for me due to diet restrictions, but they do serve salmon (the one fish I can eat). As an appetizer we ordered fried pickles and I believe fully loaded nachos. I only sampled the fried pickles, they were fried perfectly. My only negative on the pickles is that they were difficult to eat due to being overly salty. If you have hypertension, do not order them. The salty taste was so overbearing that it was necessary to drink after eating one. I don't have hypertension, but I'm sure my blood pressure went up after having two. According to my lunch dates, everything else was delicious. The fries have a little sweetness to them, but are very tasty. Unless you come with a hearty appetite, be prepared to ask for a take home container, they provide hefty size portions. Overall, the atmosphere is cozy and the customer service is amazing! The reason for the four stars is because of the extra salty fried pickles and I had to fold a napkin and place it under the foot of our table because it was wobbly and annoying. Every time the table wobbled one of our drinks would spill, so I McGyvered it.

We got the popcorn shrimp and the fried catfish and it's was soooo good! I didn't really care for the sweet seasoning in the fries, but I still enjoyed it. Will eat here again!

Most of the food is really good. The only thing I will not eat is the crawfish because they boil them plain and put seasoning on top of the crawfish. This seems to be the standard for east Texas though. The service can be not so great at times(I have had to get my own refills and to-go containers more than once). My biggest problem is the wait time to get in. I know they can't control the wait time but they won't tell you over the phone if there is a wait or not.

Very much enjoyed this restaurant. The hostess and servers are very professional and friendly. We were seated immediately. Our server was quite busy but gave us the adequate attention we needed for a pleasurable afternoon meal with friends. We started with appetizers. Recommend an order of hand breaded onion rings and crayfish queso. Amazing. One friend had a 'boil'. It looked fantastic. I had the oysters that were the days special. Also amazing. My wife had the shrimp trio. Another friend had the Gator nuggets. Everything was hot and fresh. The fried foods were not greasy. They have a fully stocked bar. Good atmosphere and a fun feel. I would have given 5 stars but the men's room was very much in disarray. All in all I recommend highly for a fun and delicious meal or bar experience.

My fiancé and I visited after she got back home from being gone a while. She was craving crab legs so we took a chance on this place. We were so glad we did! The service was great, our waitress was kind, very informative and knew exactly what we wanted without asking. I got the fried catfish and shrimp (pick two meal) with hush puppies, fries, and the pepper jelly. When I tell you I would eat that meal on my deathbed!!!🤩 The fish was fried amazingly and it was super fresh, no weird pieces and they were pretty big. The Shrimp was equally as good! It was huge for this time of year and packed with flavor! It wasn’t overcooked at all and it was delicious dipped in the pepper jelly. The fries were surprisingly tasty and the hush puppies melt in your mouth😋. My fiancé got a crab boil pot, I don’t exactly remember what the item was called on the menu. It was HUGE!!! I was about worried since it was around $50 because we have been burned before but when I tell you it was worth every penny! The crab was juicy and well seasoned, they were not skimpy at all! There was also shrimp, corn, and sausage in the pot with a lot of seasons and juice at the bottom. I don’t even like seafood and it was amazing to me as well. We also got the crawfish queso appetizer but it wasn’t for me, I wasn’t a fan of the seasonings used for the crawfish because it was kind of sweet which threw me off, but it wasn’t nasty at all, just wasn’t my taste. And for dessert we got the banana pudding cheesecake which is mostly what drew me to this place😅. Honestly, it was good, not great. The texture was a little off but the flavor was immaculate and we still loved it!! 9.8/10 for this place overall and we would love to come again!!!

This place is awesome! The food is great and the atmosphere is perfect! You won't be disappointed. This is a must try! I have had a few things off the menu, but my favorite is probably the catfish opelousas. It's is soooooo good! Hands down my favorite dish, but everything on the menu is very good. Don't pass this place up

Had a boiled batch, 1/2ib shrimp, 1/2ib snow crab, lobster tail, and it came with sausage, corn, potatoes. Shrimp was on point along with the fixins but the lobster and snow crab legs were over cooked. If those were done right, it would get 5 stars across the board. The Lemon Drop Martini paired great with the sea food boil and I suggest enjoying one with your meal while there.

I only got to taste one thing gumbo. Never men there before but my brother had been there several times and has not been disappointed with any of his choices. He got nachos and it was a full plate of them. They looked and tasted good. The offerings are mostly seafood but they have other options. When we got there on Saturday it was very crowded and there was standing room only to wait for a table. The selection of alcoholic beverages was not very limited. The service was prompt and the food came fairly promptly. As I watched plates pass by they were extremely full! My brother's nachos could'a easily fed two people...

I wanted to give this place a 4, but the long wait for a table and the slow service once seated brought it down to a 3. To be fair, our server was great—especially considering they were juggling several large groups at once. The food was actually the highlight; it was well-seasoned, priced right, and the portions were plenty. A bit of a letdown that you can’t make substitutions and have to pay extra for every sauce or butter, but overall, it was still a good meal.

Food is fantastic, as it usually is. Tends to be a bit crowded at times. My only issue really is that they are not very accommodating with their menu items, meaning you pretty much gotta order what it says, no customizing. [Ex.] I couldn't even get my fries loaded. Other than that 👍.

Food was very good and our waitress with the medium length dark hair was very kind & attentive. THEN, the gray/purple haired waitress was talking with a gentleman right next to our table, he said he likes his catfish fried hard so it’s crispy.. SHE said yeah I like some things hard and stiff too. Unprofessional!

We like the food here but the attitude you get when attempting to call in an order to pick up is straight ridiculous. This makes the 3rd time we have ordered food over the phone where the person on the other end was just plain rude. Didn’t have a problem with paying for the order over the phone. What I did have a problem with was the girl kept repeating my card information out loud as I told it to her. Had to ask her not to do that. Great food crap attitude.

We had a party of 7 that showed up for the Crawfish palooza. We had a three people in our party that did not eat crawfish. Two had the fried catfish baskets which they said were extremely good. One had grilled catfish with shrimp etouffee on it which was also very good. A dozen oysters very good slightly high on the price but we are in east Texas. The banana pudding cheese cake was excellent. It was so good one of the people ordered his own after tasting the first one. The crawfish left a little to be desired. We started with 10 pounds they brought them all on a big tray with 2 corn and 2 potatoes. We ordered mild but they did not have much flavor. I think they were cooking them too fast. I have had them here before and they were much better. We had lots of dead ones that were absolutely nasty in the orders. We ordered a second 10 pounds and asked them to deliver in 5 pound trays. They did more corn and potatoes this time maybe 4 each in each tray. Still lots of dead crawfish and ordered medium but still not much seasoning flavor in the crawfish. I think they were trying to cook them too fast. Three more things that bother me about the crawfish. 1) They billed us at the higher price for the crawfish because we asked for them to be delivered in 5 pound trays instead of a 10 pound tray. It would seem to me once you cross the 10 pound purchase any additional purchases would be at the 10 pound price even if delivered in two trays. 2) The corn and potatoes were not cooked with the crawfish so not much flavor there either. 3) They charge $1.50 for butter for the corn which if you are not going to cook it with the crawfish it needs some help in the flavor area. We will may come back but not for the crawfish. We could have eaten another 10 pounds but because they were not good we did not order more. One of the party was going to buy some to take home but again they were not good so he did not take any home.

Took my 92 year old MIL for lunch. Her seafood was good she really enjoyed it. My pasta was great but the chicken in my pasta was very tough and dry, I don't eat seafood. Waitress brought my man's salad and my meal at the same time and said the rest would be out shortly. Which within 5 to 10 minutes it was delivered. We really went there to eat all together but it didn't happen. I don't like starting my meal before someone I went with. This is the third time I've been and I really hope the next time I get one of these great waitresses I keep seeing at the other tables.

We frequent often , this is one of our favorite spots, excellent food. Today was not our usual great service. They were on a wait, however we did not wait very long to be seated. We waited awhile for our waitress to come to the table. We ordered appetizers and drinks. We ordered fried mushrooms, and my husband ordered gumbo. The fried mushrooms arrived, and we still did not have our drinks. We finished our appetizer and my husband‘s gumbo never arrived nor did our drinks. We also had to ask another waitress to bring us a roll of paper towels and she said she’d tell our waitress and we never received the paper towels. Our waitress finally returned to our table and realized that she had forgotten to bring our drinks. She did bring our drinks and finally took our order. When they brought our food, my husband asked for cocktail sauce for his shrimp, and he waited and waited, and his food was cold. We did finally ask for a manager. They did remake my husband‘s food and our waitress brought the cocktail sauce. She was very pleasant however, I feel like She was stretched very thin because she had tables in our area and the other side of the restaurant. We had to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes to get our check and then our check was wrong. They charged us for the gumbo that my husband never received.. Very unpleasant dinner experience this evening.

It seems everytime we go here I leave less than impressed. They do a big business so maybe it's just me. We had 6 adults and 4 kids 3yrs, 5yrs, 7yrs & 15yyrs old. We were the first big party in the big party room. Most of the food was good, except for the boiled platter special. Tough & overcooked was their descrption. Calabash shrump was good & so were the chiclen strips according to the kids. The pasta was okay. Food came out at different times as we were warned by waitress so that's fine. What wasn't fine was kids got there's 7 minutes before most of the adults and one adult recieved thier meal 25 minutes after everyone else. In the meantime all except 1 large party that arrived after us was served. I understand they got busy after we arrived, but that's why we arrived early. Waitress communicated she had a "could care less" attitude. Then they added 21.5% to our bill - credit card & gratuity. I was not feeling very gratuitous after our experience. Maybe it was just me, maybe it was just bad timing, but when I spend $275 plus on a meal, I expect a whole lot more than what I got.

The food was to die for. We came out of town to visit family and hands down best seafood and fried green tomatoes I've eaten. The reason for my lack of stars were the waitresses! Not one friendly face, greeting, or smile! They behaved as if they were mad at us for choosing there to eat! They really acted upset when having to give refills or change an order from the menu. I was extremely disappointed by the rudeness and cold vibes given off. I will eat there again but it won't be anytime soon.

Food was absolutely amazing, I loved every bite. The service sucked, not sure if it was because we were sat outside not that it should matter. We got our drinks once after that no refills no how’s everything tasting. We only saw her three times. We had even to go inside and ask for the check and for togo boxes. They didn’t even give us napkins I had to go to a dirty table next to us and grab the condiments from there.

Not a family restaurant. Took my wife and 5yo son to lunch and our waitress was wearing a tight shirt that showed her entire stomach and you could clearly see her nipple piercings through her shirt. Another waitress was wearing what I can only describe as a lacy camisol. Food was great. Atmosphere was not.

My husband and I have dined at Skippers several times since moving to Longview in 2022. Although we have always enjoyed the food and have had mostly positive dining experiences, our last visit was very disappointing. We last visited Skippers on Saturday, October 11th. My husband ordered fried catfish while I ordered a crab & shrimp boil. My husband's dinner came out first, but mine was delayed. The waitress apologized and said it should be out shortly. We watched as other diners around us recieved their meals, many of them boiled dishs as well, but mine failed to arrive. Our waitress finally came back to collect my husband's now empty plate and seemed surprised that I had never received mine. She offered to have it boxed up for me to take home. I then went to talk to a manager. Amanda, seemed taken aback that I was so frustrated, and again offered to have my meal boxed up so I could take it home. When this didn't make me particularly happy, she asked what she could do to make me happy. I explained that we were past that point, but comping my husband's meal and not charging me for a dinner I did not receive would appease me. She did so, but went on to explain to me that the mistake was the kitchen's fault and that the restaurant itself was not to blame as the kitchen and restaurant were seperate. Huh? She refused to take responsibilty for the botched meal. Needless to say, we will not be dining at Skippers in the future.

I am sad to say that my first time here last night was not a good first experience. My family and I came with the intent of celebrating my parent's anniversary (my dad passed away 3 years ago)...but we still wanted to celebrate with mom. Here is my run down of the evening: 6:15 PM - placed reservation for our table of eight people and told it was a 20 minute wait/ watched a party of 25 people get seated before us/ plan what to order while we wait 7:15 PM - finally get seated 7:25 PM - we decided to go ask the front who our server is/ placed our order as soon as our waitress came because we wanted to place our order before the party of 25 placed theirs/ watched the party of 25 place their order after us but get their food before us 7:50 PM - seven out of eight of us received our food so we couldn't eat all together 8:20 PM - receive our ticket 8:30 PM - leaving restaurant Positives: 1. The atmosphere was clean and not too loud 2. Although we had to seek out our waitress, she was very pleasant and helpful 3. The food was really delicious. From the appetizers to the main entree there was no complaints about food...and the portions were huge! I'm actually having some for lunch the next day. Negatives: 1. Waiting so much longer to be seated than was promised 2. Waiting so much longer on our food even though the 25 person party ordered after us but received their food before us 3. Our food not served at the same time I really want to like this place because a friend recommended it to us, but I am super disappointed at the outcome of our dinner. I may be back to give another shot but am quite hesitant.

The manager Teagan is a disgrace. She is rude & disrespectful. She should not be in any establishment as such. Our food came out cold. They took it back. Warmed it up & brought the same food back out. Then got upset because we asked for management. She comes out stating they made the food fresh which is a complete lie because it came back out really quick. Teagan argued back and forth with the guest at the table with us and stated the plate is warm. My husband enjoyed his fish but however I did not eat at this place due to the service and the way she rolled her neck when she was speaking. We will not be back.

Tonight me and my sister had ordered a LB of snow crab and a salmon dish. The server misunderstood my sister because my sister said shrimp while pointing at the salmon dish and said “oh sorry I meant this.” We waited 30 minutes for some shrimp to come out. We just assumed the waitress got her order wrong but then 15 minutes later the salmon came. We were confused but she did eat the shrimp and wanted to take the salmon to go. I still had not got my food and when the lady who was not our server dropped off the salmon she asked if we were waiting on anything else. I said yes I was waiting on my crab legs but she said they would be out soon. At the 50 minute mark I waved down our server because she didn’t check in on us much and I couldn’t even find her until that point. I told her I had been waiting 50 minutes for my crab and asked how much longer it would be. She seemed surprised and said she didn’t know I ordered crab. I ordered before my sister and when she originally took my order she asked what spice level I wanted. I was annoyed but she apologized and said she would comp our shrimp since we didn’t actually order it. She then went to tell the kitchen about my crab. After 15ish min I did get my crab and she asked if we wanted a dessert on her. Since she was already comping our shrimp I didn’t really mind and didn’t want her to buy us a dessert out of her pocket. I declined and said it was ok. After she dropped off the crab she didn’t check up on us anymore, she didn’t much to begin with but I ran out of water and didn’t get another drink till my ice melted. When we got our check we were charged for the shrimp, I then looked to see if maybe she took a percentage off since I had to wait an hour for my crab but she didn’t. After I explained what happened they did refund me for the shrimp but I just felt uncomfortable about the whole situation.

Tried to eat their last Saturday afternoon. When we had the nerve the question why our food was taking so long and others who had come in after us were already eating, I thought the manager was going to get physical with me. The owner was rude and uncaring. The place was filthy, food on the floor and drain flies in the restroom in the bar area. This used to be our favorite place but yikes. Never again. I left near tears and hungry. Seriously, the "manager" was hostile and scary.

Food was not good but at least it was edible. Would not recommend. Service was also horrible we had to wait a long time for the waiter to come even ask us what we want to drink. The table and seat were dirty when we were seated. Will not be returning.

Honestly one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had, especially for the price. We spent $80 for two people, and the food was cold, overcooked, and just overall not good quality. Our waiter wasn’t attentive at all — we sat waiting while two tables who came in after us got their food, ate, and left before we were even served. For the cost, the experience and the food should’ve been so much better. Not worth it. Hopefully just an off night:(

Let me first say I called ahead as it was a Sunday night to see if we needed a reservation as I had a large party. Was told no reservations were accepted but Sunday evening’s were slow. When my party of 12 arrived I saw an entire baseball team had arrived ahead of us. I accepted that we might be waiting awhile. After sitting a while 30 minutes or so. I went to ask how much longer would the wait be. The waitress told me she had no idea as they were busy. I replied that we had been setting outside at the table could we eat there she said sure she would get us menus. We ordered drinks and appetizers. After drinks came we then ordered food. Food arrived first no appetizers and my young grands didn’t even get their food. My son in law got a dry poor boy and asked for sauce over 5 times. This was crazy. The food was good nothing over the top to return as I was born and raised in Cajun territory. I have definitely had better. But when you bring your young children to a restaurant and a girl with no bra and you can see her boobs and tattoos on her chest. It was a clear message on a low class restaurant to me with high class prices. My 33 year old daughter went to ask for a bar menu and the lady at the bar told her “what do you mean we have liquor” She replied yes what kind and the male person just told her we can get get you a menu but we need your ID. A very low class response to a simple question of just wanting to know what did this restaurant offer on there bar menu. The poor little waitress needed help and I guess none of her coworkers or manager or owners could help. We couldn’t get our drink glasses refilled, my grandchildren had to wait til last to get there food and I came with a cake and let them know I was celebrating my daughter birthday. Just to have it given to me to put the candles in and light them. I could have just kept the cake and everything with me. But this restaurant made a good money off my family eating there to get what I would say some of the poorest service I have ever had. This is actually my first google review to write. This is definitely not a place for children. The owners do not care what their staff wear nor do there care how you are treated when you are there. Not one manager came to talk to us about our service. Not a place I will be back to nor will I suggest this place to people I know.

My husband and I have really wanted to try this place. We decided to make the drive and see what everyone was ranting about being so good. The excitement was immediately taken away upon waiting for a considerable amount of time to be seated at 1145 on a Wednesday. We were seated in a booth and got our drinks pretty fast. That's when it straight downhill. Booths around us and their orders taken and served their meals before we were checked on to order ours. We were very close to leaving money on the table for our Iced Teas and leaving. My husband went out to smoke, the waitress finally showed up to take our order. Crawfish Queso and The Pick 2 meal. It wasn't that long when our food was dropped off at the table with no communication at all besides asking for an extra plate and she pointed at the dish that had 1 cocktail sauce, 1 tartar sauce, and a small portion of coleslaw. She said that that plate was an extra plate rather harsh and rude. She was gone from the table before we could ask for a few lemons and extra sauces. We were still holding out hope that the food would make up for the service. Unfortunately, the Queso tasted like soap and was unable to have at least 2 bites thinking it might be a seasoning or something different they use in their recipe. We split the Fried Plate up between the two of us. While my husband started eating his half, I was waiting to get the attention of our waitress to request the extra sauce and lemons. I looked around to find her and she was cleaning a table not far from us and I was waiting politely to let her finish, but to my surprise she got on the floor, hands and knees, cleaning under the table with napkins. While paying attention to where she was going so I could catch her attention, to my disgust, she went from under the table straight to the food pickup widow, grabbed a basket of food and delivered it to a table. I was in shock. I got up from the table, went to the pickup window to whom I thought was the manager. I asked if I could speak to someone in charge so I could relay what I just saw. I explained the issues nicely and she said that she would take off the Queso from our ticket, but there was nothing wrong with our main dish. I replied that I'm not eating anything after I watched the waitress clean the floor with her hands and then directly serve someone a basket of food without washing her hands. She followed me to put table and saw that my husband had eaten one piece of fish out of the 4pcs and 4 shrimp, and stated that since he ate some of the meal she would discount the meal 50%. We paid our $21.00 ticket for 2 Iced Teas, 1/2 off the main dish and removed the Queso with a $3.00 charge for the garlic bread that was supposed to come with the Queso. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, I saw the manager, a bartender, and 3 waitstaff, but the coldness and lack of attention was overwhelming. I'm so very disappointed that the experience we were so looking forward to turned out to be a total disaster.

Took my son to eat tonight. We both ordered and he had informed waitress no rice. They brought it with dirty rice. They took his food back to make another order with no rice. Second time out with white rice. The music was so loud the waitress told him she was sorry she didn't hear him say no rice. No vegetables for side like the waitress said there would be. Only cold peppers in various colors. My son watched me eat. When ask how much longer to get his food the answer was always a few seconds. When his food came out again still not what he ask for. A lady that was helping the waitress out was rude. My son told her he didn't want it if they couldn't get it right. She ask him if he wanted to take it home. I paid for my meal. We left. The wait staff needs to write orders down and then maybe orders would turn out right. Music needs to be turned down so your staff can hear what customer is ordering. No refill on teas offered. Watched the staff running from place to another.
