Gen Korean BBQ – All-You-Can-Eat Bliss with Tabletop Grilling! This place is a carnivore’s dream! You grill your own meats right at the table, and every bite is hot, juicy, and packed with flavor. The bulgogi was to die for. It was tender, perfectly marinated, and so addictive I kept going back for more (until I literally felt like I was going to pop!). Our server Robert was wonderful. He was super attentive, quick with refills, and full of great recommendations. He made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is modern, fun, and open, with big bright windows that let in tons of natural light. It feels lively but not overwhelming. Bonus: there’s a parking garage right there, so getting in and out is a breeze. If you love Korean BBQ and interactive dining, Gen is a must-visit. Bring your appetite – you’ll need it! 🔥🥩🍴
Pros: Gen Korean BBQ House is a solid spot for good quality food. The meat was fresh and delicious, and the staff was great about changing out the grill grates whenever we asked. The restaurant was also very clean and had a nice atmosphere. For all you can eat at $31/ person for the dinner menu, you really can’t go wrong. Minor cons: 1. Appetizers (side dishes like kimchi) should be served automatically without having to ask. This is the first Korean BBQ spot that has asked me if I would like the side dishes served. Just bring em, don’t ask. Everyone wants it. 2. The digital menu is a bit confusing when you scan the QR code. The first half of the page is all boba options, which had me questioning if I was even looking at the right menu. It would be much better to have the Korean BBQ section at the top since that's what people are there for, with the boba options at the bottom. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'm still giving them a 5/5.
Love this place. I always get Uber eats from here and I'm really liking their food. I get the Bulgogi and recently got the Hawaiian steak. That was pretty good too. Try them out; You might like it!

This was actually our first time at Gen and it was so nice. Our server Alfonso really made this experience for us. He was really nice and paced our meal perfectly. I hate when you get rushed at ayc…
The food is fairly priced and tasty. I think this place is making a comeback. Our server Max has been amazing both times we've had him. The only thing we had was a dirty cup but they immediately re…
We've been here numerous times, and most of our experiences have been incredible. One particular server, Angel, always greets us with the upmost hospitality. Everytime we arrive and he's working, he remembers our orders. Another individual whom I deem deserves praise is the male manager with glasses, he's taken great care of us and when in a busy rush--forgot our drinks, but he did us the courtesy of comping them without us even asking, without us ever complaining. Now that i've finished glazing, lets get to the food. Not a huge selection of side options, but they have a great variety of proteins and most of them are high quality and tender. The only item I can't recommend is the hawaiian steak, everytime when it's served it looks a little gelatinous, that may be from the acidity of the pineapple--which my partner unfortunately did get food poisoning from. Although this one situation does not define this establishment as a whole, every other time we've visited it has been very pleasant and satisfying. I can agree with some of the reviewers mentioning the smoke--although that's something they can't quite help--they have plenty of ventilation to combat that. In addition, please just cook one meat at a time. Parking is convenient, under 1 hour is free, and beyond that it's 2 dollars for every hour. (I think.) Overall, convenient place, in a convenient area. Great service, amazing drinks, and very nostalgic. Would give it a strong 7.5/10.
The cuts were pretty good, some needed a little more seasoning I liked their glass noodles as a side. The food was good but our waitress didn't pay attention to us we had to ask for multiple refills from other staff along with other sauses we wanted. She seemed mad and wasn't very attentive, I don't know what her problem was. Other than her I would recommend the place to eat very affordable and good atmosphere
Came here Thursday for dinner, only waited 15 min. The spot is a bit smaller than other Gens I’ve been to, but vibe is solid with comfy booths and a modern feel. Service was kinda slow...drinks came halfway through the meal. Kimchi fried rice was bland and soggy, but the japchae was hot and on point. They were out of a few cuts, but we wrapped it up with kalbi and wine pork belly—*damn*, that hit the spot.
My brother wanted to check this place out and I’ve been to this Brand in Alhambra and it was excellent. This spot is also good overall. My brother and I chose the premium option which came to $55-60 per person all you can eat. We’re both big consumers of fine kbbq and the selection was excellent along with the quality. We did quite a few rounds also. The flavors were there and tons of options to choose from. Customer service was great and the location is big & it wasn’t crowded on a Saturday evening. I’d definitely come back again and try their other menu items. Parking is paid structure and no validation unless you get local theatre to validate.
Great Korean BBQ. We had several plates and I enjoyed everything. Especially the dumplings and the potato salad were very nice. We went there at 3pm so it was not busy at all. In the evening I assume it can fill up and that people have to wait. The staff is very attentive and they refill and bring new meat platters quite quickly. The only negative thing I have to add is that the floor was dirty and quite sticky.
Nothing great about this place, meat quality was low. Servers were okay, only good thing was the location.
I've been to many korean bbq restaurants & so my review is based on sufficient experience. 1. It's freezing inside. 2. Very limited side dish's that were not very good. The side dishes are key to a…
I am going to have to give this location another try I came here not too long ago, I believe it was on December 18. I had my family in tow. You were a small party of four. We waited about 30 to 45 …
Great food, great atmosphere. Only downside is the wait time, at times it could be up to an hour. Other than that, I love coming to Gen.
Came here on a Thursday night for dinner for $30.99 per person. The food is okay for ayce korean bbq but the reason for the 2 stars is because the service here is terrible. The bussers and runners …
It was our first time here and the lady who put is on the waitlist was lovely, that was where the good service ended unfortunately as we found our servers to be unhelpful, unfriendly and bordering …
This place is a just a typical Korean BBQ place, nothing special. Food is good, place is good, except for the cleanliness of the cups/ glass. The very first time we tried this place, I ordered a soda; the drink was served with USED OR UNCLEANED cup. It has a lipstick mark on it. Tsk3! The city needs to check this place for hygiene and cleanliness. I guess need to report this.
Food was great. Atmosphere was also great. Our service started of bad. But it got better after shift change. I'll definitely go back
OK so the food was good but the wait was 50 minutes. Had to use the bathroom while waiting and 2 off the stalls were not working. The trash was to the rim and on the floor. The waiter was very nice and helpful but was spread thin because the place was so busy, too many people and not enough servers. Our orders were coming slow and when we asked for something the same. Even to pay the bill, he took about 10 to 15 minutes that I had step outside to sit outside since I was getting anxiety. So yes server was doing his best under the circumstances but for paying customers that's still not acceptable. Manager should have more people working so that doesn't happen. Our bill wasn't cheap either. That was our first time there so not a good first impression.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet we waited 10 minutes to be seated. Despite being a party of four, a newly-arrived couple was seated ahead of us at a recently vacated table. After an additional 5-minute wait, we were finally seated. Our server was slow to approach, never introduced herself, and took only our drink order (four waters) before leaving. Approximately 15-20 minutes later, I observed her in her coat, looking at our table with a smirk, before walking out—without notifying us that our table was being transferred. After finally getting another server to take our order, the food arrived promptly. However, the quality did not meet expectations: our party of four received only three slices of Hawaiian steak, and the bulgogi was served mashed together. While the food runner was friendly and attentive, the primary waitstaff provided consistently subpar service. We expect better when dining out, and this experience fell far short.
Food was good but service was bad. I want to take note that this is not the fault of any employee, this looks like a management problem. I saw employees working together and doing jobs they are not supposed to just to attend to customers. We ate here on a Saturday lunch. Its a weekend yet they are understaffed, like literally not enough for the huge place they have and the people they are accommodating. Managament has to make changes either by adding staff or limiting people from sitting down. Make them wait instead. We waited so long for our orders to come, and some they forgot to give because their hands are so full. Please make a change and help your people and customer enjoy your food and your workplace. Thank you

Well, for all-you-can eat it was totally okay. Not much ambiance, the selection was adequate, the food was acceptable (except for the calamari which were very tough).

Went there with the family on Saturday. They said there was no wait, but we waited 35 minutes before being seated. They had about three servers to take care of half the facility. Our server was nice, but everything took forever because the restaurant didn't have enough staff or management wasn't effective with scheduling/organization. Regardless, the food was pretty bad. The only good thing on the menu was the steak and the mango bites. Soups were average, half the menu was taco/asada/carnitas flavored meats. They were missing key dishes like bibimbap. Worst off, their bulgogi had too much msg. It was salty and inedible. The kalbi was average at best. The shrimps were not cleaned. Head and guts still on. It didn't even taste as good as other locations that use the same whole shrimp style. Overall, we are fast eaters, but it took us an hour and a half to get in and out. The place is not worth the price and definitely not worth the wait. I have only eaten at on worse Korean BBQ place. All the others were better than this one.
First time coming and probably my last. Came here with a group of friends and it was packed. We waited for a bit, got seated and got to ordering. They start you off with a rice bowl, some sauces and condiments. I liked the ambiance but the waiter and servers were definitely overwhelmed because they would take a while to get to our table so we could order more food. We also ordered some drinks and they took forever to bring them out. We had to remind them like 2 or 3 times before we finally got them. And to top it off my drink was supposed to have alcohol but I couldn't taste it at all. My friend also ordered an alcoholic drink and you could definitely tell it had alcohol in it. So that was disappointing. We had to waive them down on numerous occasions so they could change our grill because it was smoking for way too long and it was hitting me right in the face. I'll be smelling like meat for like a week! You'd think they would change it out as soon as they see that it's blackened but we had to tell them. Also, my friend had to go up to the front desk on 2 or 3 occasions to ask for things we had ordered a while back. The quantity of the meat they would bring was ridiculous. It seemed enough for only 2 or 3 people but we had to divide between 5 adults and 1 child. Also, like 1 or 2 plates of meat that they brought over had a weird taste to them and we collectively decided that we weren't going to eat it. I've been to 1 other Korean BBQ and it was way better than this spot because they also had a salad bar. IDK if I'll come back here but you never know. Things can change but for now I wouldn't recommend it.
Terrible service, terrible food, and terrible drinks. I will never go back. My nephew treated us to this location based off the Torrance location and it was upsetting.

Worst Gen Korean bbq ever!!! Waiters are extremely rude and unprofessional. They kept asking me and my partner if we been here before like 3 times. Like why does it matter if we been here before or not???? Besides that the guy did not even offer us for extra services when we were eating, they only go to the tables that are convenient for them because they want a TIP well guess what in life you don’t get what you want if you don’t treat people the right way. Us customers are paying for a services so your suppose to treat us the right way. And for the manager charged us a preacher we never asked for. He proceeded saying “I’m still charging it” when I had clearly told the guy that the waiter noted incorrectly. Just disappointed and not worth coming here again!! So if you are reading this please take my comment and save ur money and time from coming to this low quality restaurant.
Easily the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Unless it was covered in sauce most of the food was completely flavorless, and that was the best part. I've had a lot of bad service in LA but this was so bad it felt like a prank. At the very beginning our server forgot half of our order, it took nearly an hour to get an iced tea, and at one point our food went to another table and we had to order again. It wasn't even busy when we got there, maybe 5 tables, but even that was too much for this place to handle. We never got rice, never got a water refill, our server disappeared for an hour, and we had to ask for everything multiple times. It took 5 requests to get a salad and it's just lettuce and dressing. We were ignored by multiple staff members when trying to get someone's attention and we were stuck here for 3 hours because of how slow everyone was. I've worked in restaurants for a long time and this is embarrassing. Don't go here. You'll have a better experience digging through the garbage in the alley.
We ordered the Korean fried chicken, an appetizer thats supposed to be cooked and fried in the kitchen, only to find the chicken was completely raw. We let the server know, and they came back apologizing, informing us that management didn't want to do anything. Got food poisoning the next day. Our server was very apologetic, unfortunately management seems to not care.
Today, I assigned a notably low performance score, primarily due to the absence of several employees who reportedly did not attend work out of fear of potential immigration enforcement. Unfortunately, this concern was unfounded, as there were no incidents. Moving forward, it is essential to enhance job performance and attendance. The whole restaurant was filthy. The server failed to bring us the meat and refused to provide refills. We had to beg for more. This is, without a doubt, the worst Korean barbecue experience I've ever had. And they never picked up the dirty dishes or changed the grill.
We recently visited GEN Korean BBQ, and while things started off well, the night didn’t go as expected. The staff was friendly at first and service seemed smooth. We did notice the portion sizes were smaller than other all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spots—especially for the price—but we let it slide since it was unlimited. Then things took a serious turn. While eating, my friend bit into his rice and found a screw inside. Not a typo—an actual metal screw. He bit down on it, pulled it out, and we immediately notified our server. The waiter called over the manager, but it took about 15 to 20 minutes for someone to actually address the situation. When the manager, possibly named Richard, finally came by, he offered to only comp my friend’s meal. That didn’t feel right to us. We had only been there 20–25 minutes and had barely received our first round of meat. Paying $30+ per person under those circumstances, especially with a health risk involved, didn’t make sense. We explained the situation again, and Richard said he would reach out to his supervisor. After another 5–10 minutes, he came back and offered a more fair resolution, which we appreciated. In the end, they did make it right—but the delay and the initial reaction were disappointing. If you’re going to run a busy restaurant like GEN, food safety and how you handle mistakes like this matter. I’m giving credit for the final resolution, but this experience definitely left us uneasy.
There are many great Korean BBQ joints in the area: don't settle for this one. The staff were nice, but it was absurdly short-staffed. We had to wait so long to order. Once we ordered, we started getting items very slowly and had to ask for some items multiple more times. We didn't even get our water until near the end of the meal. In addition, the building does not have adequate ventilation so it is completely filled with smoke, which can't be healthy for employees.
