Opinions de Ed's Place Glendora
Great local coffee shop that was recommended by a long time Glendora resident. Very nice people and atmosphere. If you like airplanes you will love this place!
The food was really good.
Very comfortable atmosphere. Reminds me of a small tourist town dive that the locals love and passers through wish they had at home. Perfect portion size, delicious food.
It's selection is fairly decent, depending on the time you're going to have a decent wait (30 minutes at the most in my experience). Definitely one of my favorite breakfast places.
A small true mom and pop experience. Amazing food followed by fair prices. Been here a few times and never had a bad experience with food or employees.
I have been going to Eds place for over 15 years. One of my favorite restaurants ever. Best breakfast ever. Hike and Ed's place = HAPPY. I bring everyone here.😛😍
We decided to have breakfast out, ed's place has always been our spot to have breakfast. It did not disappoint, food was great and staff was A+. We will always visit Ed's.
The food is so good. Definitely worth a try. Great breakfast menu, very hard to decide.
Only been here twice, but it has good food and large portions. The service is friendly and efficient. This is a local diner that gets it right.
Best California Burger EVER! I ordered my burger Medium rare this is one of the few places that actually knows what Med. Rare is!!!!! The Coleslaw was AMAZING.
Our favorite breakfast spot. Veggie omelets every time. Perfection ED ....PERFECTION! Belen is the sweetest cutest waitress ever!!!
Great food funky little joint all the staff in incredible a must try. The Eds Benefit was delicious
Omg food is amazing! Breakfast is delicious and employees are so nice go here don't even think about it just eat here :-D
Make sure to try Ed's daily soup! Here are the ones I can recall (and I know I’ve missed others that ran out before I got a chance to try them): vegetable (always different; he’s been making it with a kick lately), navy bean, potato leek, cream of mushroom, corn chowder, broccoli cheddar, chicken tortilla (one of my favorites), split pea, pumpkin (in the fall), menudo, Manhattan clam chowder (not very often, but worth standing in line for), French onion, crab corn chowder, Albondigas, Calabacitas, lentil, New England clam chowder, spinach cheese, minestrone, cream of chicken, cabbage and corned beef (I never heard of anyone else making this), seafood chowder, chicken rice and portabella mushroom (so good it would make you weep).
Exceptional food, friendly staff, and a fun & unique atmosphere. Best diner in SoCal. Check the specials board - you won't regret it!
Great service, great breakfast. The weight was very minimal. Can't wait to try lunch next time
Great food, always well prepared (mostly by Ed, I think). Americana atmosphere. Couldn't be better. I've never had a bad meal at Ed's. Eggs Benedict are phenomenal...
The food is classic diner fare and is excellent, the atmosphere is eclectic vintage, and the service is amazing! This isn't the kind of place you get in to get it as soon as possible, it's a place you sit and really enjoy your time. Love it!
Nice to have a place that almost stands still in time. Great food, still quaint, still warm and inviting. The sausage in the Pigs n a Blanket is over the top yummy!
I adore this place. Five stars indeed. Five stars for speedy service, five stars for friendly staff, five stars for an AMAZING breakfast! I stop in every chance I get, love the counter spots to catch up and eat a yummy breakfast.
Good hometown food. I love the patty melt. Great service even when busy. They always have time for you and with a smile.
It’s always delicious at Ed’s place! We have been dining here for years.
The Specials are Great. Always get tasty food here with my older friends and family. Bring a person who likes airplanes, and they will probably enjoy the atmosphere 😉
Great food and great service, if your there on Sun morning you'll probably be served by Alana you can tell it's her by her great big smile and friendly attitude. Great spot for a walk after the bacon and spinach omelet, or what ever you order.
The food was fantastic. The only downside is the menu doesn't have a lot of details, but the waiter told us about each option. He spent a lot of time with us. Can't wait to go back.
Love Ed's place. I stop by here with my Grnadma when I come to visit. Staff is friendly, very hole in the wall dinner with a retro airplane throwback theme. Food is good and I recommend stopping by if you're in the village.
What a nice experience! Early Sunday morning, sitting outside enjoying a beautiful morning and having a great breakfast. The guy playing guitar was very good. I could have sat there all morning. What a way to start the day.
This place is great... Great food and great staff. Has a lot of -what appear to be- "regulars". Chicken-Fried Steak and Eggs is one of the best I've had and I'm Texan. Lol
Had the country scramble with biscuits and gravy. All were excellent. The staff are all amiable and attentive, too. Great small diner ambience.
Ed's Place is the best little restaurant around. There country fried steak and eggs are the best I've had outside of home cooking. I've tasted about 6 items on their menu and they have all been excellent.
Gosh. I hate breakfast food. However, this place; THIS place is amazing. I have never cleaned off a plate of breakfast food in my life but both times I've come here have just been the most amazing breakfast experiences. Really attentive servers, good coffee, phenomenal food. I can't even begin to describe how good this food is. The Hashbrowns have flavor. The omelettes are savory. The pancakes are sweet, soft and melt in your mouth. I wish I lived closer to eat here more often xD absolutely recommend this to anyone.
small town charm. Great hash browns and bacon
Ed's Place is my favorite place in Glendora and my favorite place for breakfast ANYWHERE. It has the ambiance and the quality that you would have expected to find in a bygone era. The waiters are pleasant and, as a rule, efficient; the kitchen is quick and the food arrives warm; and the prices are competitive and reasonable. Ed's place is a jewel! P.S. Do you like biscuits and gravy? Ed's is the place, then. October, 2024 UPDATE: Still 5-Star. It took a while for the wait staff to get back to pre COVID class, but they made it.
A local hole in the wall diner. Went there for breakfast and was greeted by friendly staff. Typical American fare but all delicious. Airplane enthusiasts would like this restaurant due to the decor and memorabilia.
One of the better places to grab breakfast in the area. It's a small, intimate place with aeronautical themed decorations. It sometimes can be difficult to get a seat on weekends. However, the food is delicious. Their chicken fried steak and hashbrowns are particularly good. Staff are always friendly. Coffee is pretty good for a diner.
This a great place to have breakfast and lunch. The food is great and the service is awsome. It reminds me of the little coffee shop. We continue to come here and recommend to others. Also they have outside seating too.
Food was perfect! Service was great and everyone was friendly! Would love to come back and bring my folks! 10/10 Chill vibes for a Tuesday morning.
My son love their Mickey mouse Pancakes, their Chicken fried breakfast is so good too! This was the first plate I ever ordered when we first started coming here. It's a small little place, so be prepared to wait at least 10-20 minutes because it's really good and worth the wait which is not a long wait at all!
What a fun little diner nestled in Glendora. Great breakfast spot. From traditional French toast to tasty omlettes good selection. Street parking and fun little downtown area. Try the biscuits and gravy. DELISH!
Came on Monday President's Day waited for approximately 15 minutes. The staff is friendly and welcoming, smile on everyone's face. According to the staff the food is made to order, so it may take a little longer. but guaranteed well worth the wait in our opinion. From the freshly squeezed orange juice to the home fries, everything was savory and delicious. If you're in the city of Glendora and would like a delicious homemade, like mother used to make, breakfast then this is the place to come to.
I went there this morning with some friends knowing nothing about Ed's Place. We had never even heard of it. But it was such a good choice. The kielbasa and eggs were delicious. Sunny side up eggs cooked perfectly and we had a cute waitress!
Ed’s Place is a great, local, greasy diner. There are a ton of breakfast places in Glendora, and when I’m feeling like I want some typical American food, I come to Ed’s Place. They have a pretty good biscuits and gravy. Their hours are a little disappointing, but I also understand it’s difficult to stay open late. When you can go inside, I love the airplane theming. If you’re in the mood for American food, I’d definitely check it out!
Old time diner feel .put yourself in "airplane mode" as there are plenty of photos and models. The food is as good as it gets . Oh the Biscuits and gravy.mmmmm
There's a good chance you will see me and my wife here on any given Saturday or Sunday one of our most favorite places to have breakfast. Eggs are always cooked perfectly and the staff is so friendly. The food always comes out hot and we love the atmosphere.
Best breakfast ever. Hot, fresh, but also made quickly. Everything is seasoned perfectly, the potatoes are soft with a crunch. Not to mention the awesome cozy aviation theme, and the wonderful service.
Took my 8-year-old granddaughter visiting her from Tennessee. What an enjoyable place. Food was really good
Went in for breakfast on a Monday. Quiet and cozy place. It has a counter top with about 8-10 seats, and about 5 booths in the back. A table or 2 outside as well. Nice and courteous staff. Food was delicious. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and tater tots. Usually, I don't order that meal because it's always a big portion but my sister informed me it was different here. It was! And it was yummy! Gravy was great too. My sis had the kielbasa breakfast and she enjoyed her meal as well. Overall a nice experience.
Such a cute local spot, every corner you look there’s a cool detail to look at, the airplanes exposed are so cool! Staff is super nice as well
Fast service. Clean place. Great coffee. Outdoor seating available. We had the hobo omelet, which was delicious. Small place inside.
This is a hidden gem of a diner along the gumdrop-shaped trees of downtown Glendora. It is airport-themed and showcases a lot of memorabilia on the walls and shelves. The service is fast and friendly. There is comfort food of all sorts to chose from: a proper English fry up, huevos rancheros, pancake stack, or an Irish Benedict to name a few. Three generations of our family have enjoyed Ed’s. This is why we keep coming back and Ed’s Place is now our place as well.
As always, Ed's is our favorite breakfast place in Glendora. Ed can be a bit of a curmudgeon at times, but in a likeable way. You can eat inside and enjoy it's oldtime diner feel and the aviation photos and model airplanes, or outside in the expanded patio. We love the fifties music. Closing time is now 3 pm.
Just discovered this place after living in Glendora over 3 years. Great food and menu with extremely reasonable prices with excellent attentive service. I'll be back often.

Very generous with there with their thick cut bacon! Had a lovely meal al fresco and received excellent service. Our server always made sure we had plenty to drink
OUTSTANDING tuna sandwiches!!!!! Hold the lettuce 🥬. Sit outside in the converted front patio. Park on Glendora Ave if you can find a spot. Be aware of closing times after the lunch period.
Service was spot on! Food portions were perfect. Oh and the hot tea selection was so great!
Stopped by for brunch yesterday; cute little place with outdoor seating. They quickly accommodated our party of 11 (9 kids, 2 adults). Michael, our server, was very kind, professional, and friendly. He was very patient with all our kiddos, which is always appreciated by us mom. Food was delicious! I ordered a club sandwich (best one I've had in a while) with fries. My friend had a BLT with sweet potato fries and she said her meal was very good. Will visit again!
If you are an Aviation fan like me you will love the theme. Very nice coffee cake. Excellent strong real brewed iced tea. Good breakfast choices.

Normally this place has good food and good service. Today was not that day. I will go back again because I have always had good experiences with the exception of today.
Granted it was busy this morning. The waitresses seemed over worked and confused about table assignments. Overall, for the price breakfast was pretty good.
One of the many great choices for breakfast along the glendora village. This place stands out above others with the option of tater tots as a side to your breakfast plate. They also have a live musician play outside on the weekends. Ed's place has a small town diner feel.
Great local spot. Well it felt like it... the food was good but the atmosphere was really cool. It felt very homey and welcoming, the staff was super friendly and kept it casual.
Real nice hole in the wall. It's small inside but has a nice patio outside ( a nice holdover from covid). Great service and good food. Nice place to sit outside with the dogs.
Nice little classic coffee shop with aviation as its theme. I really like their Hobo omelet (however, I chose to make my omelet a scramble) which comes with bacon, ham, sausage, country potatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. My wife loves the steak and eggs. They have creamer for coffee but only Irish creme and pumpkin spice.
Cute little cafe on the main drag of Glendora. There appears to be some sort of civil aviation theme going on (I'd be interested to get more history of the place). We went here for brunch, and they had some pretty good offerings. There's not a lot of seating indoors, but we decided to sit outside as the weather was nice.
It was really good food. Great place for breakfast. We went on a Sunday morning all thought the place is small so there will most likely be a wait its worth it. Dont go if your in a hurry, this is a take you time place. The food will be worth it.
Not too busy: we arrived shortly after 8AM on a Sunday. They managed to get others' orders out way ahead of ours. Somehow our order slip had gotten "lost". We were subsequently charged for only 1 of our 2 breakfast plates. Decent prices but the first visit was marred by this delay.
The service was a bit slow. They weren't crowded, the servers just didn't seem to be in a hurry. They were friendly though, and the food was really good. Tge biscuits and gravy hit the spot. Nice vibe on the outdoor patio. I'd definitely eat here again.
Love that they didn't over cooked the eggs. The bacon, cheese and avocado omelet was great and home-style potato was cooked right. My husband love the food, too. According to my husband, the gravy needed more sausage, but state they cook hash brown right.
The food is very good and the service is good as well. I have been coming here for years and my sister used to work here. We still come as often as we can but neither one of us lives close anymore. It also has a very comfortable atmosphere.I like going for breakfast and getting the blueberry pancakes, they are my favorite.
Ed's place is a classic old style diner. The staff is friendly and many of the regulars they know by name. Coffee was hot and the way I like it. The skillet scramble was tasty and the right size. The gravy is good although my biscuit seemed a bit too dense. It had not risen like it should have. In many ways it was a step back in time to a friendlier life I grew up in. In all, a good experience. 5/21/24 Another great breakfast at Ed's place. As good as the food, I really enjoyed the coffee. It's a very good medium roast. So much better than the burnt coffee they serve at Starbucks. Again, friendly efficient staff.
Lovely outdoor space to have breakfast or lunch, but the service was lacking & everyone was a little awkward to interact with. The food was solid, I enjoyed my corned beef hash breakfast, my husband enjoyed his BLT and my Grandma enjoyed her grilled cheese. Both of them had wanted soup & sandwich combo, but they only had one soup option of chicken sausage gumbo “I think” the waitress shared.
I thought the veggie omelette was really good and our server was kind and helpful! They accommodated our party of 6 for lunch right away (on a Saturday) by quickly pulling some tables together outside, which was nice. We actually did get lucky with parking but yeah, the spots were few and far between. I think the one thing that was kind of shocking about Ed’s was that they charge $4 extra for a side of fruit and it was much less fruit than I’d anticipated for that price. I wish I’d known, I would’ve just stuck with one of the regular sides. Also instead of the veggie, the server handed me an omelette with meat in it that belonged to someone else at the table. She was very apologetic, no harm, no foul. I’d just recommend double checking things, especially if you have a specific diet or allergens to watch out for. But other than that, the food really did hit the spot! Perfectly cooked omelette, pancakes were a major hit at our table, and the burger was apparently really delicious!
Small Diner serving breakfast and lunch only (CLOSES AT 1:30P). Unique decor that has a aircraft theme. Breakfast served during all business hours. Service was good, and food was delicious. Like other reviewers, I was disappointed that the restaurant charges to split a plate ($3.25)- since my husband and I frequently share entrees. It's been several years since I have eaten at an restaurant that charges for this. I ordered the Original Country Scramble (see photo), and it was good. My husband had the Greek Goddess Burger amd it was delicious, he said. Overall, a good experience
This is a very small store with counter service and about 6 tables. The “flying” theme was a little messy, many aviator knickknacks on the walls. Old style breakfast/ lunch. Service was acceptable. I had the pigs in a blanket. Very generous and tasty sausage, good pancake. The biscuits and gravy was just OK, biscuit a little tough and gravy had a “different” taste. Mildly recommended.
I went an early Saturday morning with my Mother-in-law. The breakfast potatoes were yummylicious and the Eggs Benedict with Bacon wasn't to shabby either *wink, wink. Coffee was good and the service was casually attentive. Small interior with a counter in case you come solo or you just prefer sitting at a counter. I'm sure I'll return to try their other offerings. Respectfully Reviewed.
My 1st time hangout at downtown Glendora and love it! Since my little one going to VBS at Cornerstone Church, this downtown will be my place to hang out😉Cute downtown and this little place have what I want, great service and egg benedict, very good! And love their walnut cranberry bread😁😁😉 so delicious I had to asked if I can buy it from them as a whole 😁which they don't sell it individually a whole bread they even not hesitated to give me the name of the bakery where they buy it from, how awesome is that? A++ there, thanks so much for making my morning so beautiful to enjoy it!

Nothing to blow your socks off, but it will hit the spot. Decently priced and a staple of the village. Good for a quick breakfast and cup of black coffee. Relaxed homey environment.
We usually love this place, but this might be the last time we go...pros: country fried steak, spinach omelet, chili omelet...cons: found three (3) hair's in plates as they were delivered to us. Home fries are never cooked enough. Even if you say extra extra well done they come back blonde and some potatoes are not cooked through
First time at Ed's place. Small little place, the servers were great. Food came out very quickly. Ordered a basic breakfast, bacon crispy, eggs cooked perfectly. Ordered the pancakes, they were small in size, the syrup was watery almost like a light syrup. Not flavorful. I think a really good whipped butter and some rich syrup would have put this place over the top.
The server was sweet, but the inside of the diner was dingy, dark, and dusty. The food was good. Very cool collection of pilot and airplane memorabilia, but the place could really use a bit of a face lift.
First time here my experience, Def was not the best. Server took 10 minutes to bring menus after hostess sat us. He brought the food then NEVER came back! He never offered refills or even napkins. My husband had to go get the check. Server needs to be trained better! Giving 3 stars cuz food was good. We both got the chicken fried plate. Pancakes we're fluffy.
Food was decent, there was a long a wait though. Not very busy and burnt my mothers eggs and came out cold. Everything that was served to us was cold. We had also asked for sauce from one of the men serving us, he never brought it. We asked the hostess though and she immediately brought it to us. Very good hostess but very poor waiters. Food would have been way better if not served cold, the chef leaves a fan blowing on all the food as soon as it is put down.
Location: Good, Parking : hard to find, Service: nice but a bit slow, Food for Price: Balanced, Outside Seating : Yes, Overall: First time and in order to eat you have to park. Man the parking was tough as with all the spots just taken. I was lucky to grab the spot I did and proceeded to Ed's. Just so you know Ed still works here in the back and will come out to chat when he can. I found the food to be very good and well worth a second trip. Had the Parking been better 4 stars...

This was my favorite breakfast place in large part because of the staff. The restaurant now has become political and posted a sign about prop 50 and democrats. I find this type of language divisive and separating Americans. No on 50 would have been sufficient if you must introduce politics into our meals. There is no party that always does the right thing and no party for which everything is bad. I will not be patronizing this place ,I liked, anymore because I will not support this type of activity meant to separate us.

It is super small and, in my opinion, the servers where inattentive. They informed my party shortly after our arrival how long the wait would be. The estimated time was correct. Then we were seated, received menus, ordered and were brought the food; that is when the problems started. We had to ask multiple times for hot sauce, coffee refills and even for them to process the bill. It was a nice place with interesting decor and yummy food, I just think they need better wait staff.
Food was delicious but not once were we asked how our food was or asked if we wanted a refill. At the end when the waitress asked if we were done she offered To Go cups for our drinks just so they could clear the table. The wait staff seemed focused on just turning over tables. They dont offer takeout or I would do that to eat the food again.
This is not a 4.5 star restaurant! The food is bad. It tastes bad. The restaurant is not clean. I would only give a good rating for the outdoor patio. Ed needs to up his game and review his strategy

Good tasting food. BUT, blonde waitress is arrogant, food portions are small, 35$ for two to eat. Left hungry. Place charges extra for every little thing. I dont reccomend this place.
Eds place used to be good but not anymore after years I'm going somewhere else they almost doubled the price and decrease food portion to half. And service It's sad.
Apparently our first time here a few months ago was just a lucky experience. :( we ordered two well done burgers. They were sent to us being rare. Medium rare at best. We sent one burger back and all they proceeded to do was reheat that burger instead of cooking a new one. To me that is unprofessional and turned my stomach. I'm not sure I will ever get over today. I would like to say I'd give this place another shot, but I'm just floored.
Place is owned by a delusional conservative racist. I found hair in the food twice. They used canned meats. Overpriced trash food. Shame, as the airplane theme IS somewhat charming.
Just ate breakfast there. Didn’t see on the menu as per them they told me when they brought my bill, that they charge $3.50 for a split charge. They could have said this when I ordered too. I just don’t like my potatoes with pancakes on same plate so I ordered an extra plate. What a rip off! Will never be back and tell others not to come here. Be careful if you order an extra plate like to give kids part of your meal . First and last time here .
I would give this a half star if I could. I have never felt discriminated against in my life time. I am Asian my husband is African American. My husband my 3 children 2 grandchildren and myself enter into the place. We stood in a small isle as you walked in. You can not miss anyone in this place. We stood there for about 10 minutes. One of the waiter saw us. He turned away. 10 minutes later he had the nerve to ask us have we been help. Really you saw us when we walked in. Didn't even bother to acknowleding us then have the nerve to ask that question. Servers was HORRIBLE. If you can call it serve. Was charged $3.00 extra because my grandkids shared a plate. I have never felt so discriminated and insulted my whole life. DO NOT COME HERE. Food was not good either. But maybe they made it that way for us so we wouldn't return. If you want great food great service then go up the street at little to the Village Eatery.
Food is ridiculously over priced, wait staff was nice. But $15 dollars for a slice of bread cut in half(French toast) and its not even texas toast bread. it's just regular bread cut in half, two eggs, and a single sausage is ridiculous. And $20 omelet!?! $10 bowl of cold cereal?!?Just eat at home. My friends used to love this place because in the PAST it WAS CHEAPER, and NOW it's tasteless food at a PREMIUM PRICE. It was VERY CRAMPED inside. The aesthetic of the restaurant was cool but if you keep looking, you'll see all of its flaws. Mostly senior citizens eat here, so bumping up the price and not changing the quality of the meal is doing a disservice by digging deeper into that social security money. My only enjoyable experience was finally being able to leave. SUMMARY: The food is nothing to brag about, the prices are the biggest complaint (at the store for $15 you can 12 eggs, bread, and a pack of sausages for multiple servings. Here you get 2 eggs, a single sausage, and a single slice of thin bread cut in half), cramped indoor seating (outdoor seating is sometimes available), the restaurant needs some cleaning (don't look up). Go to IHOP or Dennys instead, better yet eat at home!
I will not be returning here again. Pancakes were burned, instead of two eggs I got 1 bacon was over cooked and I didn't even get my coffee refilled after I asked for it. Two waiters bouncing back and forth. And still had poor service. And it wasn't even crowded.
My eggs came out with a piece of shell in them, and when I called the waitress over, I was told it would “be a bit.” For eggs? Okay, fine but I definitely wasn’t expecting to wait 15 minutes for something that shouldn’t have had shells in the first place. This spot seems to be loved by locals, but I can’t tell if that’s because of nostalgia or just convenience. If you do decide to spend your money here, don’t bother asking for substitutions. Our waitress said “if the cook feels like it.” Excuse me? The ego here is unbelievable considering the food is below mediocre at best. And since the owner also happens to be the “cook,” well… that explains a lot.
