Romo's Pizza is highly praised for its New Haven style pizza, thin crispy crust, and flavorful sauce. Customers rave about the friendly staff, especially Danielle and Abby. Some note limited availability of specialty pizzas before 4pm and portion size issues with pasta.

With already some of the best pizza (if not the best) in the area, their service was outdone; particularly yesterday. I made a passing mention that one of the slices was for my daughter and the younger guy working (around 3pm) offered to cut the slice up and took the time to cut it into smaller pieces. It was a really thoughtful thing to do and you really appreciate those little things that make parenting just a little easier from time to time.
Hands down the best pizza shop in town. What we appreciate most is the consistency every single time we order, the food is fresh, hot, and exactly what we expect. The quality never slips, which says a lot. Their pizza is excellent, and their full menu offerings are always reliable and well-prepared. It’s clear they take pride in what they do. Whether it’s a quick lunch or dinner for the family, we know we can count on them. We truly appreciate the consistency, service, and quality. Keep up the great work!
Food here is great. I love the homemade blue cheese dressing it's delicious. They also have a new restaurant with a great atmosphere out back fireplace seating mini golf .
I have celiac disease and man did this place accommodate for that! I hadn’t had a real tasting pizza in over 20 years and it was remarkable! Most restaurants I get very ill at and I ate pizza and felt great! This is a good advertisement point for them that I didn’t see on the website. Shout out to Romas
Pizza is great the new haven is the best in the capital region. Staff is awesome especially Danielle about out Danielle! She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience they should definitely give her a raise!
Last night we played trivia and we had a new waitress named Abby. I want to give a shout out to Abby and Romo’s management for hiring her. She is amazing! I wanted to tell management in person but it’s busy on a trivia night. Abby was so friendly and attentive. She checked backed in with us several times during the night. She’s got a great personality and she knows how to manage her guests. Thanks Abby! You’re the best!
Have been 2 times to Romo’s and let me tell ya- the pizza is beyond amazing!!! The crust is thin and crunchy, no flop, the ingredients are high quality, the packaging and the overall satisfaction has been personally 10/10!! These guys pay attention to details. Got an order of buffalo chicken wings and OMG 😱 each wing was huge, juicy and with slight crunchiness and the sauce was just 👌🏻 and to top it up the blue cheese sauce- have never had in my life such an amazing blue cheese dip for the wings- the taste was spectacular, it made me think if I had ever had blue cheese sauce before 😆 the only ‘good’ problem is because this place is so great, it can be difficult to find parking
Finally a pizza place/restaurant that lives up to the hype! Went on a busy Saturday night and the service was still fantastic! Got the New Haven award winning pizza and the vodka Detroit style and both were delicious! Got a Caesar salad which was huge… a lil lite on the dressing but they were more than happy to bring out some extra! They do need a bigger location with a better parking lot but other than that… I will def be back!
Romo’s New Haven style pizza is an absolute must try. The thin, crispy crust with perfectly balanced toppings makes it a standout. The garlic knots are also a must try, with a fair price! Just a heads up: if you want to experience this pizza at its best, it’s dine in only—worth every bite fresh out of the oven!
Romo’s Pizza is home to some of the best pizza in the Capital Region! Romo’s won the World Pizza Cup in 2023. They offer a variety of different pizzas, pastas, salads, wings, calzones, breads, appetizers, sandwiches, and subs. The pizza offers a flavorful taste with a New Haven crust. They add an element of NYC style to their pizza as well. Portion sizes are quite large. Quality is definitely the name of the game here. The restaurant is busy because it is so well known and very good. Large dining area for eating in. Still, most order takeout here. Staff was friendly and helpful. Worth going out of your way to try!
Arrived for a table of 4 and they said the wait would be 15 mins-table ready right on time. The hostess sat us and explained that she was sorry but it would be quite a long wait until the server came over. She proceeded to bring our young children some pizza dough to play with in addition to the crayons and placemats. They absolutely loved it! Kept them occupied until the server was able to come over. It was a busy evening and they were certainly short staffed but worked together to turn over tables. We ordered a 12-cut pepperoni pizza, chicken fingers, pretzels, & chicken wings. All the food came out delicious. They have garlic in the crust of their pizza here and it is truly exceptional, a must try for sure. Get it to go or eat in after 4pm.
While visiting family they took us to Romos. Recently awarded a best pizza award, the place was crowded. It is a pizzaria on one side and a bar restaurant on the other. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and pizzas and sat in the outdoor area. Our waitress Sara was fantastic and made sure our group was taken care of. The wings were good and the dipping sauce was great. We tried the hotmess sauce which was like a Alabama mustard bbq sauce. The fries mozzarella was also a must there. We had a few of the specially pizzas, the scholar and Gracie. These pies were great from sauce to crusts. (Grandma style and artisan.) The regular pepperoni had a very different sauce it seemed. It was very sweet and garlicy. Maybe they are made in different ways? Overall a good meal! Try it out
We order from Romo’s somewhat regularly as our default pizza joint (because it’s close), but, I’ll be honest, I do not see the fuss. It’s pizza. Not great. Just pizza. It’s fine. Legitimately nothing special. Why some rave about I cannot understand.
Found this place on utube about award winning pizza. Arrived at 1130 and was told speciality pizzas you can only get after 4pm as well as other items on their menu. Was planning to do take dinners for our first night traveling on vacation. We had a slice of sausage pizza. It was nothing to rave about as well as the sauce. Dough had no smell to it. Shame we were excited to eat here
From the reviews and the prices, I was looking forward to a proper classic pizza restaurant. What we got foodwise was the most unremarkable takeout joint ever. The sandwiches are good, the Italian on the lower end of mediocre. Pizza was not flavorful. I've certainly had LESS flavorful pizza—at least there was sauce here—but it was nothing I'd ever buy again. Not worth the calories in the slightest. There was a wonderful aroma of garlic... but I couldn't detect any hint of the flavor when actually eating it. There was nothing bad about the sauce, but also nothing I'd write home about, let alone recommend. Again, not tasteless. but unflavorful. The crust had an odd flavor. I couldn't tell of it was bad dough or if they'd attempted to infuse herbs, but if it was deliberate the flavors just did not come together. Baking of the crust was mediocre as well, the kind of chewy crust that doesn't bite cleanly and you have to kind of tear at. It is very difficult to get the flavors of a pizza to come together into that "pizza magic" and not simply taste like the separate components of cheese, sauce, and bread... and Romo's just does not manage it. But they charge like they do, which is the real sin of this store. I see nicer looking photos in reviews that look nothing like what I received, so maybe they prioritze sit-down customers and just cut corners on outside orders they know can't send it back? But if that's the case that is an even worse sin for a pizza place that advertises orders. The meatballs I was also looking forward to, and again found I was mislead by the price. At least they were handmade, not frozen... but not good homemade. Certainly not an Italian family recipe. They were tough and gristly, with utterly unremarkable flavor. Exactly one step above frozen grocery store meatballs. The ricotta was fine, but it was wasted in the company of these meatballs. The tuna panini was the highlight. Now THIS was an item worthy of the price. Fresh ingredients, generous portion, good price. Wasn't anything special about the flavor, it was a plain tuna sandwich, but it was a good tuna sandwich, not much more one can ask for. If only they could raise their actual italian dishes to this level... or lower the prices. My experience with Romo's food was that of a thoroughly mediocre takeout joint. Not bottom of the barrel, but not something I'd ever order unless it was midnight and nothing else was open. The only problem is they price their items as if they were a choice quality Italian family restaurant, a special occasion place. They are not. I've had better meatballs from Olive Garden, and better pizza from Costco. I'd only recommend stopping by for the sandwiches; if you're looking for Italian, take your money, your calories, and your tastebuds elsewhere. This place would make a 4 star late-night takeout joint, but with this pricing and hours it makes a 2 star local Italian restaurant. If you're looking for something to go, I'd bump the average rating up a star to 3 for the properly priced sandwiches, a fine thing to stop by for.
This is all the pasta i got in my $25 dollar chicken dinner. This is honestly just disappointing that you spend that much money to get such little amount of pasta. This was my boyfriend’s pasta, the comparison is absurd. You guys really gotta do better at checking whats coming out the kitchen. We also had a “4oz vodka sauce” added and that didnt come. The pasta is dry as well.
Ordered takeout prior to Super Bowl on 2/8. Order was supposed to be ready at 6:15pm. I got there at 5:30 thinking the restaurant would be open, and not just takeout area. The restaurant was closed, however, the counter person said my two large pizza’s were ready. Obviously the pizzas were cold and were for someone else’s order that didn’t pick up. For $46.00 for 2 pizzas, a little more pride could be taken on what comes out of ROMO’s. Lots of choices for pizza in the area, last night I didn’t make the correct one.
