Greg provided exceptional service to my spouse and at our first time dining at Hawks to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary. We started the night with some incredible bourbon-based signature cocktails and shared the homemade gnocchi with scallops. The gnocchi was absolutely incredible, had so much flavor, and is a perfect fall appetizer. We also got to sample a complementary soup and were served warm fresh bread. For dinner I ordered a glass of Chardonnay with the Roasted Chicken as my main entree, it cooked to perfection with great sides of Brussels sprouts with bacon bits and potatoes. The night finished off with some beignets with Carmel dipping sauce. The ambience at Hawks is so upscale and romantic and we had such a wonderful time dining here. Will definitely be back and I recommend Hawks!
My husband, son and I had an excellent experience Feb 21. The swordfish melted in your mouth. My husband and son ordered it, I wish I had! My shortribs were tasty, fall off the bone incredible. Bo was our waiter and he was excellent. The soup was also excellent (forgot the name) the hamachi and the gnocchi as appetizers also flavorful!
Absolutely love dining at Hawks! The curated menu is delicious and beautifully presented, service is always top-notch, and the vibe is warm yet refined. Andrew, our server went above and beyond with his wine recommendations and made our evening memorable. One of the best dining experiences around!
Super nice farm to fork restaurant in granite Bay. Great service, wonderful bar selection and craft cocktail drinks. I went specifically for the burger and was not disappointed. In house ground hamburger patties along with in-house made pretty much everything from bun, pickles and yes house made American cheese. The drinks were outstanding as well.
Recently had the pleasure of dining at Hawks, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and inviting, with warm lighting and tasteful decor creating a comfortable yet refined atmosphere. The service was attentive and professional—our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. We started with the charcuterie board, which was beautifully presented and featured high-quality, flavorful selections. For the main course, the steaks were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor. The seasonal sides were fresh and creative, clearly made with care and attention to detail. Dessert was equally impressive; the butterscotch pudding was a standout. Overall, Hawks delivers on every level: food, service, and setting. It’s a great place for a special night out or a refined dining experience. Highly recommended.
The Real Deal is Hawks which delivers on flavor, service and excellence of dining. Let’s start off with the service, our waiter was excellent by being very skilled in fine dining conversation, suggestions, and quick service. All staff very welcoming. The atmosphere was very cozy but not small. There is a nice conversational bar at the entry area and then multiple areas to dine in the restaurant. The decor and table settings were very constant as a fine dining experience. Now let’s get into the main event: The Food! Ok started off with a Cesar Salad which they let me split with my other guest which was nice, see the great starter in the picture (10 of 10). The main course I had the Slow Roast Short Rib which was amazing and delicious (recommend to you by another server at another fine dining spot lol) 9.5/10. I couldn’t give it a 10 due to my Gordon Ramsey Short Rib barely edged it. Another entree tried was the Roasted Pitman Farms Chicken which had a lot flavor but a little over on the salt 8/10. The mushroom soup was given has a sample which was very well done 9/10. Overall, this was an amazing date spot, upscale gathering place, I will be back to try more soon.
August 2025 Tasting Menu Review We’ve been going to Hawks off and on for over a decade. The food has always been great, but honestly, it’s been the same menu for what feels like forever. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to go this time, but with an unexpected child-free night and the need for a good meal close to home, we figured, why not? The ambiance was just as it always is, peaceful, upscale, and beautifully understated. It’s the kind of place where the lighting is soft, the setting feels calm, and you actually feel like you can exhale. The noise level was comfortable, not too loud, not too quiet. Our waiter, Peter, was fantastic. He was present, never pushy, unhurried in the best way, and still attentive. It felt relaxed, almost European, which was honestly refreshing. We decided to try the August tasting menu. To our surprise, this was a new offering. It’s never really been a thing at Hawks, so it felt like a welcome shift. We figured something different would be nice, but we didn’t expect what came out of that kitchen. Every course exceeded our expectations. Michelin-level plating, creative flavor pairings, and a noticeable elevation in execution. The tuna tartare was fantastic, super fresh and well-balanced with the wasabi and shiso. The grilled amberjack with compressed melon was bright and unexpected. The beef cheek cappelletti with seared scallop and truffle was rich and comforting, but still refined. Every bite felt thoughtful, and not a single dish fell flat. My husband and I joked that we needed to come back every month to see what the next menu will be. Though honestly, I don’t think we were joking. They ended the meal with small caramels and a mini blueberry bite. A sweet little gesture to soften the blow of the bill, and it worked. This was hands down the best meal we’ve ever had at Hawks. Whoever the new chef is, they’re doing something special. We will definitely be back.
One of our most favorite restaurants in the Sacramento area. Elegant decor with white linen tablecloth. Full bar for cocktails and a very nice wine selection to choose from. Service is truly excellent. Their menu, food pairings, and plate presentation is exquisite and the taste consistently exceeds expectations. If you want an exceptional and special dining experience, you owe it to yourself and guests to try (or return to) Hawks.
This is what I would recommend as elegant dinning with attentive service. If you are looking for a place to impress your partner they set the standard for attentive service. From the time you enter to the time you leave it's all about you and your guests. Started out the "Ahi Tuna Tartare" then the "Slow Roasted Short Rib" and for dessert I had the "Ukrainian Honey Cake". The Tuna Tartar, with the Moroccan Spices stood out for me, this is not poke. But it was all about the beef. I have not had a better Short Rib anywhere else. Cook perfectly with good flavor on a bed of sweet corn with a splash of gravy. They have salt and pepper on the table, but if you feel a need to use, their is something wrong with you. Now the dessert, I took a risk with the "Honey", the word "Honey" just stands out as to sweet. You know the Winny the Poo thing. But it had a right balance with the berries and Chantilly creme. Went well with a fresh cup of coffee. Prices are reasonable. Remember your not just coming here for just the food, you'll be experiencing an attentive special night out. Enjoy.
Came here for a belated birthday celebration with wifey. Can't say enough about the service and the food. We tried the hamachi and the scallops for appetizer which were both exceptional. For our main courses we went with the wagyu flat iron and bass. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. Cocktails were also on point and overall the experience was very enjoyable. We will definitely be back again. Thank you so much Hawks for the amazing dinner evening.
Group of 4, and It was my first time here. The cocktails are totally worth the try. The appetizers were delicious paring with white wine. Main courses were excellent, and at a times to rich!…almost to the point of getting full, but I powered through to the dessert, after getting a box to go. Excellent wine list and service.
Absolutely amazing service & meal! Dined with my work team of 10 people and everyone loved the experience! I highly recommend the beet cured Hamachi (white soy, yuzu, pickled alba mushrooms and wasabi), the compressed watermelon salad (saeng’s strawberries, french feta, cucumber and mint), the potato gnocchi (bay scallops, yellow pepper cream and smoked paprika) & almond wood grilled filet mignon (alpine cheese, cipollini onions, pommes dauphines). We shared the warm brioche beignets with salted caramel for dessert, which was fun & delicious. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in town & to share this gem with more friends & family.

Food, Hospitality, Atmosphere all 5 stars. Ingredients and taste Amazing. Sumptuous and definitely a regular from now on.
Great place for dinner. The staff was great and the food was amazing. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do the Chef’s tasting flight as my wife had some dietary restrictions, but the items on the menu looked great 👍

The food was amazing and the service was even better! We split the beet salad and gnocchi starters and they were both so yummy! The sauce on the gnocchi was especially delicious. We also split the cod entree and it was cooked to perfection. The kitchen even split the starters and entree for us which we definitely were not expecting. Desserts were also great and it was nice to be able to treat my mother to this special experience. She is still raving about it.
My wife and I came here for a date night. First time here and service was outstanding, the waiters take their time going through the menu and are more than happy to help with any questions, they’re attentive and enjoy their job. The food was amazing, the mushroom soup was so creamy and the gnocci was delicious. I can’t wait to come back here again
The food is beautifully prepared, flavorful, and consistently high-quality, every dish feels thoughtful and delicious. The service is warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere is upscale but still comfortable. It’s the perfect spot for a special night out or a relaxed, elevated dinner
I won a gift certificate for a 3-course meal for 2. Went there last night. The food was amazing. Portion sizes were generous but not ridiculously so. Our waiter was attentive without being a pest, and very sweet. He really cared about what we thought of the meal. I had the wild mushroom soup for a first course, and we both had the short rib main course. It tasted delicious and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. We will definitely be back.
The atmosphere was cozy, friendly, and professional. Gave Michelin star, but friendly. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. LIFE CHANGING. And our server, Parker, was impeccable. Service was Michelin grade.

Our food was FANTASTIC! I'm lactose intolerant and the substitutions they made were some of the best I've ever had! The ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars is this was Valentine's Day, expensive, and I didn't feel like they handled the rush quite well. It felt a little assembly line at the start.

Amazing food and drinks. Wife and I have been coming for years. We’ve brought our babies with us many times and we’ve always felt extremely accommodated and welcome (we’ve even had a drink in the bar with a baby). I drank one of my all-time favorite cocktails here years ago. The 3% “optional” service charge drives me absolutely crazy. I hate this trend of adding surcharges to bills to ensure fair wages or the like. Just raise your prices by 3% instead of being sneaky. Most people feel bad/awkward asking it to be removed, so just suck it up. I either ask for it to be removed, or reduce my tip by 3%.
The food was okay.. awesome aesthetic/plating & menu options, though. Gets extremely busy, recommend having more servers/bartenders.. drinks/food was forgotten several times. Also, the two girl hostess are not helpful at all, blatantly ignored us several times … just gossiping to eachother.
Was disappointed in the experience overall. I arrived 60 mins before reservation and brought in balloons to celebrate sons (24 yr old) promotion. I asked if we could have a nice table in main dining area since it was our sons first time there, the hostess agreed, I left and came back an hour later the 3 of us for our reservation. We were put in a side room (overflow or private event room) no atmosphere, one couple in the room, back corner with heavy drapery behind us. Dark and in the corner like we were being punished! I went back to front and explained that I had come in an hour earlier and stated what we preferred. They said because of the balloons we had to be put in the back room because the balloons could not be seen on table (3) small helium. (or if we came to main room they needed to be on the floor) I said well we can get rid of the balloons, and why didn't someone tell me that when I dropped them off an hour ago? Then I was asked to go back to the corner room table and "wait" until they could get us another table (5:30 Sunday night) was not crowded yet. To add to it the steak medium rare came out medium WELL done so my husband could not eat with us at all. Overall very poor experience. However, our server Andrew was incredible!
Sadly I am pretty disappointed. Went here with really high hopes for our celebratory dinner and the food was not good... Waiter was great. The porkchop was so tough after chewing for over a minute had to give up on the bite. Overcooked and tough. Outside was pretty blackened and burned Drinks from the bar were pretty slow as well. Whole life only sent back to the kitchen maybe 2-3 times but honestly it was awful. Was hoping to try the tasting menu only to find out it wasn't available when we got there... Atmosphere was pretty bad as well. A super loud group was at the bar and they just let them go and said nothing to quiet them down. Reserved a table a month in advance only to get sat right next to the door and got hit with a cold breeze every couple seconds. Drove all the way from Downtown for this and it was definitely not worth it. 😒 Overpriced and disappointed by the food quality.
This is a complaint about the rudeness of the staff, with seating. My husband and I made a month in advance reservation for Valentine’s Day for their Valentine’s Day menu. Arrived on time @5:30pm, all sections available, they set us up in the middle of the restaurant, where there was the most food traffic. Although we called and asked them to note that we like to sit next to each other, and asked nicely for them to move away from the middle of the restaurant- to somewhere more intimate - the floor manager told us “no we can’t move you and that everything is set up the way it is.” The way it was handled by the floor put a disgusting taste in our mouth and we left, zero accommodation was made or even offered. This is a stark contrast from the other times we have ate here.
