Best cakes in the area!!!! The homemade hash is absolutely delicious. Great coffee, great service and great food. Highly recommend.
Both waitresses were friendly to everyone they interacted with. Food was good, too. Would definitely eat here again.
I love this place, go all the time! Great breakfast, VT maple syrup, and super well priced! Staff is always very nice!
Best meal I have had there. Service was great as always. Clean, pleasant environment.
We visited for breakfast while on vacation and it was perfect! Small restaurant with great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.
BEST PANCAKES IN THE WORLD!!!! Great place for breakfast. Everything is good! People are very friendly as well! I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!
Great food, very simple and cozy atmosphere. We always have great service when we visit.
It's a sweer little diner and I enjoyed my waffle with strawberries sufficiently enough to eat a second one! Great service.
The hash & eggsw/ homemade raisen toast was very good. And Lolo really enjoyed the Reuben, last one before they sold out.
Great food and a great staff. I love the friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Seated quickly, food is classic comfort breakfast and lunch options, cheap, tasty and large portions. A great little place for a filling meal.
Quaint little dinner, great food and cheap prices. The portions are extremely generous! I will return! I suggest this to anyone & everyone!
Great little home town diner with very friendly staff and good home cooked food at reasonable prices. I highly recommend this diner!
We eat here once in awhile. They have reasonably priced food and wait staff is friendly! I will be back!!

Amazing people Amazing food Amazing prices super clean super nice place to bring your family I'd eat there every day.....
Thy have good food but it way to Small thy need a lot Moor room for amount of business they do and thy do not have a handicap parking or a handicap ramp or seating
Very quaint and yummy, nice little waitress, funny, I thought she said clam+cabbage soup, was ham, we joked
It was very good and filling, and the waitress was very friendly, would recommend for an amazing omelet.
Friendly staff, great food at reasonable prices.
Just great place to eat everyone is very friendly. I truly enjoy eating there .
Came to this town to pick up a couch and needed some food. The service and food was beyond our expectations! Our waitress Kelly, was so kind and does her job well. The cooks definitely do their job well too. We had eggs Benny with hash (the best), home fries, chocolate raspberry pancakes (also the best), eggs and bacon. All super tasty! It’s worth the stop and on our annual trip to NY we will be stopping in :)
Our first time eating here, it was delicious! Amazing tomato basil soup, ham club was yummy, onion rings good! Fair price for 3 of us.
The Pine Grove is a dependable, affordable, yummy little diner. Completely unpretentious and welcoming. The servers are kind and quick, the food is classic and affordable, and the diner is reliably open, even on snow days when other places shut down. It's our Saturday morning spot!
They are always very busy, but still manage to get your order quickly and accurately. They are very friendly and the food is abundant and excellent quality. I highly recommend their homemade chicken noodle soup. Their bowl is enough to feed 2 people, unlike a competitor in town who insists that their cup is the same as their bowl. This is true soup bowl and is loaded with chicken and flavored as well as in fine dining.
Every time I've been here it's been AWESOME. The "Big Bear" 🐻 a TON of food for an awesome price! Coffee and OJ are great. The sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes are delicious!!! I will for sure return again. The wait is never an issue on Saturday/Sunday when I arrive. The moose on the roof is also awesome haha
Great neighborhood diner great food and great service. Home made hash was excellent
Small, homey, comfortable space. Popularity by the locals is evident. Chef salads were generous and prepared to our instructions. Made hot tea in the authentic British style... Extra stars for that alone!
The best small town dinner around, the food is amazing and everything is priced well.
Great breakfast wont disappoint.
i go in semi frequently but i had a slice of the rhubarb pie there....gosh.....must be a YEAR ago now. i still think about that pie sometimes. its 9:30pm on a wednesday and i'm fondly reminiscing about the pie i had a year ago. its the pie like your grandma makes and all the marks are wore off her measuring cup because she's been perfecting this pie since 1967 and she could do it blindfolded by now. delicious crust. the rhubarb pie alone is worth the visit-its the real deal genuine article. everything else is pretty good too.
You certainly won't leave here hungry! Prices are certainly fair. You can tell who the regulars are though because they came in after us and got served first. To be fair though, they didn't order much more than silver dollar pancakes and eggs and toast so I totally get it and will come back again and again
Returning from Americade with eight hungry bikers on the morning of 6/12 we tried to stop at Scrappy's, but that was packed, so we proceeded to Pine Grove and we were able find seating. Pine Grove was also packed, I'm guessing of course people from Americade returning home and Sunday church goers out for a Sunday morning breakfast. Was chaotic at best, but the team at Pine Grove called in reinforcements and were able to bring the place under control, not that it was really out of control, just very busy. Coffee was good and hot. My everything omelet was great and wife's pancake and home fries were great also. When up in the area again, we'll definitely make this a breakfast stop or maybe check them out for lunch.
This us a very good cafe in Granville NY. Excellent staff with cheerful service! Oh, and great home-cooked meals!
Absolutely delicious breakfast! The pancakes were probably the best I have ever eaten! And I have eaten LOTS of pancakes! The staff were very friendly and the place was nice and clean. A+
Went here for the first time tonight. Their pizza 🍕 is awesome (brick oven made) that's the secret to GREAT PIZZA. Other items are delicious and staff is fantastic!!
Best place in town. Food is amazing. Staff is so friendly and efficient. My go to when I’m in town!!!
Food is amazing. Staff is friendly. Best place in town!
Great place to go out for food, the staff is super nice and the food is amazing highly recommend!!!
Love the food and staff here. Best place in town!
Amazing food & staff. Best place around!
The breakfast was served just how you want it and pretty quickly. Friendly waitress. Loved the fake bear rug on the wall, it leaned into the rustic quality without making you think about real hunting while you eat. Bathroom was real tiny but cute.
This is a great little place, wonderful waitresses, everyone was so friendly. The food was terrific (had breakfast) waffles fantastic! If there is one thing I could recommend, the shredded potatoes are excellent, however extremely small portion, less than child size. So if you love shredded potatoes, like my family does, I recommend requesting a double order. 😊😊
We absolutely love Pine Grove Diner in Granville, NY! From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming — they truly make you feel at home. The location is great, and the updates to the facility have made it feel fresh and inviting while still keeping that classic diner charm. The menu offers something for everyone, and the daily specials are always tasty and worth trying. The portions are generous, the prices are very reasonable, and the food and service are consistently excellent every time we visit. Their in-house fresh baked goods are absolutely delicious — a must-try! And I love that they also offer gift items, which adds a fun and unique touch. It’s our go-to spot when we have family and friends visiting from out of town. If you’re looking for great food, good prices, and warm hospitality, Pine Grove Diner is the place to go!
Love Pine Grove Diner, it is family owned and Lisa the owner is fantastic! The food is wonderful and the staff is amazing, highly recommend going here if you want a great breakfast or lunch experience. She has also catered my bridal shower and the food and set up was beautiful!
I absolutely love Pine Grove Diner. For many, many years it has consistently delivered exceptional food, exceptional service, and exceptional prices, a combination that’s harder and harder to find. Breakfast here is unbeatable. The omelets are generously stuffed with toppings and cooked perfectly every time. Their pancake varieties are creative, decadent, and delicious. The buttery biscuits smothered in rich sausage gravy are pure comfort, and the homemade pastries are simply outstanding. When you walk in, you’re greeted by a bakery case filled with muffins, pies, and other delicacies made fresh that morning. Lunch never disappoints either. Everything is great, but I always get the double-decker turkey club which is piled high with quality turkey and perfectly cooked bacon that somehow satisfies both crispy-lovers and chewy-lovers alike. No matter when you come, portions are always generous, ingredients are always top-notch, and everything is prepared and presented with real care and expertise. What truly sets Pine Grove apart, though, is the people. Whether you’re a daily regular or a first-timer, the staff makes you feel like family. Even at their busiest, the service never feels chaotic or rushed. The team handles the flow with a grace and ease that you rarely see. These are seasoned professionals who clearly take pride in what they do while making it seem effortless. The owner/operator’s commitment to upholding these standards is felt abundantly from the warm greeting when you walk in, throughout the impressive dining experience, and to the moment you leave already planning your next visit. Don’t let the word “diner” fool you. Pine Grove delivers all the classic charm we love about a hometown diner while executing at a level that surpasses most restaurants. Some call it the Disney World of eating establishments with all the same excellence and magic, just without the crowds or humidity. The bottom line is this isn’t just a must-stop if you’re in town. It’s a must-go-out-of-your-way-every-weekend-to-get-you-some-pancakes kind of place. And one more tip: ask for the Maple Cream Pie. If you’re lucky enough that there’s a slice left, you’ll thank me.
Nice lunch here for my wife and myself. She had a burger, I had chicken tenders.
Pine grove dinner has very good food. We had sandwiches. They were warm and served fast. Was going to buy pie but I was full from lunch. We bought 2 jugs of maple syrup because it was on hand in the restaurant. Service was quick and efficient. I would recommend stopping here if you are in town.
The food here is good. The staff is friendly. The service is also good. I went with a large group of people. We were able to order quickly and the food was out in a short amount time.
We are first-time breakfast diners at Pine Grove. Service was outstanding, make sure to get Rachael, she was delighful. The food was both delicious and substantial. So sorry that it has taken ten years to visit, but not to worry, we'll be back soon!
Yesterday I attended an event catered by the Pine Grove. All the dishes they prepared were excellent!! My favorite was the eggplant parm which reminded so much of my mom's, which I haven't had in more than a decade🥹😋 Lisa and her crew do an outstanding job!!
We stopped in for a late breakfast with some family who is local to the area and highly recommended Pine Grove. After experiencing for ourselves it’s easy to see why. The cozy log cabin atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast is worth writing home about! The pancakes and omelets are particularly delicious. The little bear and big bear breakfast specials also seem like a real steal for the price. What really sets the apart from other diners I’ve visited however is their well crafted smaller menu that still fits in all the lovable classics. If you’ve ever been to a mediocre dinner with an 8+ page menu full of frozen food you’ll know what I mean. Pine Grove truly puts those places to shame. The quality of their breakfast speaks for itself and as a patron, you can see and appreciate the care they put into the execution of the menu. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in the area!
One of our favorite eating establishments! Chrystal and Rachel are super super welcoming and friendly and their meals are always fresh, hot and hit-the-spot- delicious! The waitresses are attentive, kind to kids (this is a big deal for family folks like us), and down-to-earth. Take it from a person who hasn’t lived here for long: the Pine Grove Diner made us feel like we belonged in Granville. And we do now! :-)
Had a great visit at the Pine Grove Diner today! As soon as we found our seats, our waitress Rachel was there with menus and ready to serve. She was a very positive person and appeared to treat all guests with great guest service and kindness. Our food was made quickly and accurately and tasted great! Rachel continued to occasionally stop by to make sure that coffee was always topped up if needed and made sure that she was not needed to be waved down for service. The decorations were pretty awesome. I woukd definitely stop in again and would suggest this diner to friends. We had a great experience, thank you!
Waffles and pancakes were delicious. Service was outstanding!!! And no waiting.
Excellent big bear breakfast 2pancakes 2eggs homefries sausage and coffee outside dining also excellent.
Food was great as well as hospitality but, my opinion is a hot sandwich should come with choics of sides. Not just potato chips when paying $7. If not, that sandwich should be 3 inches high.
The mac & cheese was good. The new England clam chowder was great. Best biscuits & gravy this side of the mason dixon line.
I had a vegetable omelette which was good my service was quick The Omelette came out very quick the place is rather small but people were friendly and prices were affordable
Delicious food, fast, friendly service. We will be back! Home style diner fare at it's best.
Small place, big heart, yummy food. Hubby and I stopped in for a late lunch while running errands. There was probably 10 in the dining area total, seem to be one server and she was perfectly attentive.
Great small town atmosphere. Food was awesome, service is exactly what you would expect on the best way possible. Does get busy on the weekends quick.
Did Sunday Breakfast. Food was reasonably priced. Was nothing special. Food was average. Very nice staff Friendly
This was a nice, clean restaurant. Staff was very friendly. We went around lunch time. My Philly steak sandwich was wonderful and the corn chowder was delicious. My friend loved the chowder and crispy french fries, but asked for medium rare burger and it was well done. He tried to eat it, but couldn't. I wanted both of us to be happy with our meals. Place filled up quickly and everyone was friendly. A local joint, cheerful people.
Had breakfast there yesterday...2 eggs scrambled...sausage links and home fries...the sausage was definitely sysco quality trap I didn't even eat it....and the home fries left a puddle of grease on my plate
Clean, nice happy atmosphere. Hot turkey sandwich was deli turkey, not roasted . Excellent Fries. Can get noisy if kids there. A 2 yr old was shrieking when I was there. Very shrill. Otherwise ok welcoming spot to eat.
Cute little place. Portions were on the smaller side for the price, especially for the sides. But the food was good. Very fluffy pancakes... and for $2 you can get real Vermont maple syrup.
This diner was recommended by friends as a good place to stop at the start of my upstate New York trip. I ordered biscuits and gravy, with a side of eggs and bacon. It is a cute little place, not supper busy. But the food is not up to par for the usual diner fare. My eggs were undercooked, the bacon overcooked, and the gravy had very little flavor and almost no meat. The biscuits seemed flat, not fluffy. Coffee was good, and the server was OK, but she seemed preoccupied. I was here four years ago, and the meal was much better.
Have always loved this place Not so much today. Given burned inedible bacon. Waitress never came back to ask how our meal was. They were not crowded nor understaffed. No check brought to table. I had bacon removed from check after going up to counter to pay. I did not leave a tip. I hope this young lady changes her approach to the job or move on.
We had breakfast. The pancakes were dry. The bacon was undercooked and the eggs were tough. The coffee was ok.
Stopped in for a late breakfast. Staff was wonderful. Food; not so good. Hash was crispy ,dried out. Scrambled eggs ordered with garlic. (almost that of a McDonald's egg sandwich egg) No garlic. The coffee was weak & lukewarm . Prices were high for the quality of the food IMHO. The waitress tried to make the order right, to no avail. Perhaps the cook was just having a bad day.
Food portions were small and bland, the staff were not very friendly. Our group was not local and this diner seems to not take kindly to those who aren't local and aren't a certain shade. I would not recommend.
The waitress Rachel is rude, and cannot get orders correct! When told there was hair in my food, she just said ok and walked away. If she does not feel you left enough of a tip she will chase you out the door for it. The other waitresses and staff are wonderful though.
I wouldn't recommend this place at all. They were extremely friendly and gregarious with my white friend and then used micro aggressions on me with an unfriendly tone and ignoring me when I went to the counter. The pancakes are also tasteless and quite soggy. I know they're hicks, but even a hick should know how to provide better service.
First - Unvaccinated wait staff. Heard that entire conversation they were having at counter as we were eating. As mentioned in other post unprofessional waitress. Guessing it's the rural way there. Let's get to our visit. We waited by entry for a bit and was greeted by ours seated eating HER meal at counter. I thought she was a patron until she got up sat us at table. It was wobbly as hell. We moved. She saw and said she had wedges so she could have fixed it. No thanks do your handyman work on your own time. Food ok nothing special. Service lacking Paid at counter and walked out. Left no tip she literally ran outside after us asking if service was ok. That's a first. That prospective $2 tip must have been real important to her. I said we were fine in my most pleasant but get out of my presence tone. Which she did, bolted in other direction. I had a few tips for her and none involved money.
Sat down to eat breakfast. Took my drink order. Took ppls food orders that came after me. Ask if I was ready. Said yes I knew what I wanted from the beginning. I worked all night. I said hash browns and said I mean hash. Rolls eyes I guess you really didn’t know what you wanted. So rude and unprofessional. I said I’ll leave she said have a nice day. Won’t be back
Went there with my wife to eat sat down then we were asked to move to another table because someone usually sits at that table when they come in so we decided to sit at another table in a different dinner
Ordered 2 eggs with home fries, and toast. With a side of hash. I did not get my hash and my home fries were hard as a a rock. This is the second time I've experienced this situation. I will not return!
