We spent our last evening of a work trip at Hall’s Chophouse. Although beautiful, wintry Downtown Greenville tried to steal the show, this restaurant is a super star! It. Was. Incredible. 🤩 The meal was phenomenal and the waitstaff were knowledgeable and fun. (Shout out Nick & Dustin #alrightalrightalright) A magical dining experience!
First time visiting for my birthday & we had Taylor as our waiter! He was amazing! Very helpful & knowledgeable. The food was incredible. I got free champagne & a free dessert. Honestly an incredible experience. We will definitely be returning.
Went here for my husband’s birthday and it was so good! Yes it’s very expensive, but they truly treat you like they should for a $300 check. We loved our waiter Taylor. He was kind, respectful, and knowledgeable! I got the ravioli and husband got the dry Aged ribeye—both delish! We got the loaded potatoes and cream corn for sides, & I’m drooling thinking back to them. We also tried the skillet cookie for dessert and it was to die for. 10/10 experience!
Visiting from Miami and what a truly great steakhouse experience we had at Halls. Even with the Valentines night chaos halls delivered on quality, service, and atmosphere. Delicious apps and an amazing dry aged Kansas City steak. My wife had the veal chop OMG, like butta! A huge thanks again to Jeremy and Ferrel who made our night perfect and memorable.
From Dallas Texas visiting family for thanksgiving week, took my son and father in law here mid day mid week for lunch. Freaking fire!! So good, my son ordered calamari and asked for garlic butter, they brought out butter in a pot over a candle, and fresh garlic, he made his own garlic butter and loved it. Pops got baby back ribs and they weren’t baby size at all, great portion sizes. I ordered dozen raw oysters, and they were so good! Will definitely be visiting again every time I visit Greenville now, can’t wait to come for lunch or happy hour and try drink specials next.
I'm always impressed when dining here but last night I really let me treat myself and I had the best time. The bison filet was absolutely DELICIOUS, the truffle butter ... You could just eat it by itself lol. I added on a lobster tail and was not disappointed with size or the way it was cooked. Perfectly PERFECT! Big juicy, tender. Not to mention they give you butter that's kept hot by candle. Soooo cute! We split a bottle of champagne and our waitress made sure everything ended up wonderful. Oh yeah, don't skip on the lobster Mac n cheese. It is to die for! Would've loved to have tried dessert but we were STUFFED and I had enough for lunch the next day.
Im a retired sommelier/server. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and we were made to feel special. We were greeted by everyone on staff with smiles and well wishes. It was just the beginning of a memorable evening. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Austin is a true professional and management were extremely supportive. Our dinners were perfectly seasoned and delicious.
We decided to go have brunch and I am so glad we did I ordered the sweet potato pancakes and didn’t realize that they came with eggs and bacon three slices. I gave the eggs to my husband because I had to ordered side of hashbrowns and those sweet potato pancakes with the candied pecans Was simply divine. The cappuccino was excellent as well . My husband had the sausage and gravy biscuits. He is more of a down home Southern food type of guy, but he said he really did like the biscuit and gravy. you can’t ask for a better atmosphere than here it is always on point. They had live Gospel Music that morning. It was wonderful. The vocalist was wonderful and she sang one of my favorite songs, but put a different spin on it. Oh, it was wonderful. They have a view of the water as well if you would like to sit over there and enjoy the view
Went for anniversary and was seated at by the window as requested. The presentation and welcome by the staff was top tier. Got the dry aged tomahawk and shared it. It was my first time having it, I probably would revert back to a normal steak next time. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. They had a live musician. The bar atmosphere is great too, if you want something more casual. The valet guys were also very friendly. It truly is a special place.
Absolutely loved it. Blown away. From the time you step in you are greeted literally by every worker you pass by. Makes you feel so warm and welcomed. My husband and I can to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. It was our first time here and can’t wait to come back. We went with our little ones and staff were so accommodating. Our server, James, was phenomenal. The food delicious.
Billy and Tommy Hall continue to knock it out of the park with this exceptional location. You feel meticulously looked after from the second you arrive until the last moment as you leave. Cocktails, apps, mains, desserts...you can't go wrong. Casual bar seating, more formal dining room, gorgeous outdoor patio, small quaint bar downstairs, intimate two tops on the third floor overlooking the restaurant...this place truly has it all. Strongest recommendation possible. Will absolutely return any time we are in town.
We had such a beautiful experience at Halls Chophouse in downtown Greenville. The food was incredible—every bite full of rich flavor that made the evening feel like a true celebration. While we do wish the prices were a bit more affordable, the service and atmosphere made it worth every penny. What truly set this place apart, though, were the people. Both times we visited, our servers—Taylor and Justin—were absolutely phenomenal. Kind, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. And the manager? She was everything. She didn’t just check on our table—she sat down and let our four-year-old talk her head off about everything under the sun. When he started getting upset, she quietly sent out fresh strawberries, bananas, and warm bread to help keep him happy and occupied. That level of care was above and beyond—and it meant so much to us. This dinner was for our 9-year-old daughter’s birthday—her very first time at a fancy restaurant. She’s a big steak lover, and she left grinning from ear to ear. Thanks to the entire Halls team for helping make it a night to remember.
Hall’s is not a restaurant, it’s an experience. Easily my wife and I’s favorite spot to dine in Greenville. You’re always greeted with warm smiles at the entrance and the bar is a central showcase with STARtenders behind ready to make you a delicious cocktail. We were fortunate enough to have a window side seat to watch the Greenville Christmas Parade stroll down Main. We had a dynamic duo Matt and Eric take care of us last night. They tag teamed effortlessly and add further proof that this place genuinely cares in everything they do. The dry aged ribeye #4 marbling with truffle butter and the cream corn skillet is my go too. Wife had the scallops and everything was extravagant. Whether you’re new to Greenville or just visiting, be sure to stop by. If there are events going on around the city, I highly recommend using their valet service located on the tail end of the building. Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Ambience 10/10
The bartenders are super warm and very attentive. The food was flavorful. The ambiance was nice and warm as well. I enjoyed the live piano music. I will definitely dine here when in Greenville SC.
We really enjoyed our visit to Halls Steakhouse. The Japanese steak was absolutely the best, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The mushroom risotto had a nice texture but was a bit too salty for our taste. Overall, great atmosphere and excellent service, with the steak being the highlight of the night.
We've had dinner here and enjoyed it very much. But we like to pop in to get drinks. We love this space they offer for drinks. It's modern and swanky. They have a great happy hour menu but if you want alcohol other than well alcohol, they do get a little pricey, But you get what you pay for. We had two servers who are very attentive. I would definitely recommend Hall's chophouse
Now that was an experience! We came to celebrate my wife's birthday, and the staff truly made us feel welcome, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere—something we haven't enjoyed in other restaurants for quite some time. The food was absolutely delicious, and we will definitely be coming back!
Can not say enough about Halls Chophouse in Greenville. This was my second time here and again not disappointed in anyway. Staff is amazing and top shelf. Everyone was polite and friendly. Food……unbelievable!!!! The appetizers, bread and the steaks……perfection!
Beautiful atmosphere, great service. My husband and I went there last night for our anniversary. This was our first time visiting Halls Chophouse. My husband chose this restaurant because of a recommendation from a coworker. Halls didn’t disappoint. I was a little hesitant at first because I’m not a steak girlie but our hostess Sky recommended the duck and it was delicious I must say. Sky was also amazing. Thank you Halls Chophouse for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Absolutely wonderful experience! a coworker of mine is moving up near Spartanburg and he's been talking about it being one of the go to's and most recommended places in Greenville. It definitely lives up to the hype. We opted for outside seating. Weather was just right for it. Waiter was very optimistic, unloaded on us with all steak options and differences between the aging of each steak. I think for first time goers they do a full steak presentation of some of their most popular ones. Anyway, we went with the Dry Aged Rib Eye. I'm not too keen on the difference since I've never had a dry aged steak, but my coworker says it's quite a difference from a regular grocery ribeye. All I can say is, it was damn good. Waiter mentioned it was only seasoned with salt and pepper and honestly it didn't need anything else. Cooked to our liking, tender to the cut and bite. Crusted fat edges. Takes your taste buds on a ride. Sides are a la carte. Good size portions on the sides, we shared the mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Both delicious. Creamy potatoes, nice buttery light salt taste. Corn was VERY creamy, crusted breading, full of flavor. Worth every penny, from presentation to the end. Also got an old fashioned. Well made, pretty standard. Can't forget the views as well. Right by the Reedy River. Added a pic I tookonour walk after our meal.
Let me start off, I did NOT want to eat here, dressed in leggings a tee and sneakers, with a baby…I actually wanted tacos and the place was closed. Well, we parked outside the rotating door, I sent my husband in to ask if there was a dress code and grab a table if we could, and my body language was super bitchy. I’m tired, I’m hungry, I’m dehydrated. Then the door to the restaurant ends up flinging open and this woman with a beautiful bright smile and asked if we where gonna eat, I pushed that baby and and that damn stroller in there so fast I had a dust trail. When we were seated in a dark corner it was honestly perfect, we had room to move we didn’t have anyone to bother and the staff absolutely loved the baby. The food was wonderful and I’d say this even if I wasn’t starving, and they even asked if the baby wanted anything, which really surprised me, they had a fruit plate that we could order for him. This was a very pleasant surprise and the staff really made our unplanned anniversary dinner date a great night.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday here. Our waitress, Lydia, was very knowledgeable and excellent server. She made our first time there a wonderful experience. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was wonderful. Definitely will come back again.
An all around great experience! Dinner was outstanding. The wine recommended by the staff was fantastic. Service was impecable with Justin! Highly recommended.
The prime rib and shrimp cocktail were delicious. Our server Grace was exceptional!! A great time!!
Service and atmosphere were excellent. All the food was amazing, except for my brown lettuce salad. Waiter and manager apologized, not a big deal, although at the prices they charge, in my opinion between the kitchen and the waiter it never should have made it to the table. I only mention, for an honest review. Everything else was amazing.
The food here was simply amazing. We shared several steaks to get a variety and they went from great to incredible. Tomahawk was second best led by the wagyu which was the best steak I ever had. Price is steep but the food quality was so good and the service was absolutely fantastic. Also recommend the cream corn as a surprise best side for me and my friends.
Been coming here for years. Love the service, the staff, and the food. Keep being great y’all.
The Allen Brothers filet mignon at Halls Chophouse was to die for. Hands down the best steak I have ever had, perfectly cooked, buttery tender, and bursting with flavor. The service was flawless from start to finish, and the atmosphere made the entire evening unforgettable. Truly the best dining experience of my life.
Was in the area and wanted to sit outside and enjoy a nice meal. This place did not disappoint. The service was top notch, the drink was amazing and food was good. I little pricy but well worth a treat yourself kinda day and do not feel guilty about it. We have since made a future reservation to enjoy once again
Went for our 40th anniversary and hubby's birthday. We were treated like royalty!! Our server was the best!! She went above and beyond!! The food was incredible! This was our 3rd visit, and it is always perfect. I can't remember our servers name, but it was July 5, and we sat by the window on the top floor!! A shout out to her, she is awesome!!
Halls was the choice for the second year in a row to celebrate our anniversary. Service was great. Grace was probably the best waitress we have had in awhile. The other staff was great also- I just don't remember their names. Pork chops were very tasty along with the mashed potatoes. Wife had the sweet potato pancakes with bacon and eggs which she thoroughly enjoyed. They provided the chocolate martinis for a toast. Jamie Wright provided the live music to enjoy while dining. Will definitely visit again in the near future.
Excellent, upscale dining. The atmosphere is so inviting. Every staff member made us feel welcome. Our server was absolutely excellent. Madison Perkins was very attentive to us without smothering us. She was patient and very kind. She helped us celebrate our daughter's birthday. I can not express how much we appreciate her service. The food was everything I hoped it would be and better. My wife and I are looking forward to celebrating with Hall's more in the future. I would highly recommend anyone to dine at Hall's. The experience is on a different level.
We wanted a nice steak dinner and this restaurant far exceeded our expectations! My husband had the Wet Aged Ribeye and I had the Wet Aged Petite Sirloin. Both steaks were the best that we have ever had! Worth every penny! Service was superb, and the atmosphere was nice. If you want a classy night out, I highly recommend Hall's Chophouse.
We celebrated our anniversary and were given a very warm welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was amazing. We even received a small complimentary drink and were congratulated very kind. Bella looked after us throughout the evening. She gave us excellent advice and recommended the best dishes. Thank you very much! 🫶 We couldn't have asked for more! All in all, the evening, the food, and the atmosphere were simply phenomenal.
My husband and I just left Hall’s Chophouse. James and Austin were awesome, we had the best service we’ve ever had. The food is excellent and I look forward to going. I hope the next time we go through Greenville, SC, we will definitely eat at Halls Chophouse and I will definitely ask for them. Thank you for being wonderful and friendly. And a big thank you to Andy.
Sat outside and was celebrating wifes bday. The staff was absolutely amazing! Above and beyond. The best steaks we have had in years! Great mocktails and you have to try their bread pudding. Definitely was made to feel like a celebration of my wifes special occasion. I greatly appreciate your staff greatly! High standard of excellence!
I had my yearly birthday dinner here tonight and it was as incredible as always. She crab soup, dry aged ribeye, and crème brûlée were all fantastic. Our server, Lexi, was an absolute treat. She provided the best service and personality I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Ask for her, if possible. She made my birthday celebration feel especially special.
Hall’s was a wonderful place to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. From the moment we walked through the door we felt like VIPs. Once seated manager Andy greeted us and congratulated us for 42 years of marriage. Our server, Roger, was very attentive and charming, making sure that we were satisfied and content with our entire dining experience. The porterhouse steak, which we shared, was fork tender; the shrimp and grits superb , the asparagus cooked perfectly. Halls gave us a flute of complimentary champagne and our choice of dessert (6 layer caramel and banana foster cake). Even the coffee was excellent. Thank you Hall’s for making us feel special!
Impeccable service and food. There was a small live band playing quietly while we were there. We shared a great bottle of Cab Sav, an awesome shredded salad, and the Kansas City strip, which was superb. Very expensive dinner but it was worth it to share with my beautiful wifey.
Wow! What a fantastic restaurant! I took one of my moms here for her birthday as she had always wanted to try it and this is my new favorite restaurant. The steak just melts in your mouth. The sides were fantastic. The drinks were strong and flavorful! The staff treats you exceptionally well and really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and to take care of you to give you the best dining experience possible. Bella was our server and she was just as sweet as she could be. She really delivered exceptional and exemplary service for us. She even took the cake I brought in for my mom for us till we were ready for it and then helped with the candles. I can’t speak highly enough about her and how fabulous she was. The management was very friendly as well. This is my new go to favorite restaurant and I can’t recommend it enough! Go try it and see how amazing this great restaurant is.
Went there for a spontaneous Saturday early lunch. Service was so welcoming as soon as we walked in all the way through the meal service and departure. Jeremy was an outstanding host. Food was, well....fantastic. Delicious, on point, and served hot unlike most other establishments on GVL Main St. Go to Halls. They will not disappoint.
My husband and I went to Hall’s for his birthday dinner. We ordered fried green tomatoes to share, and they were great. The breading was perfect, and not too heavy. He ordered the wet aged ribeye, which is his favorite steak from any place we’ve ever been, and as usual it was perfectly cooked. I ordered the filet, with truffle butter and it melted in my mouth. We shared the mac & cheese and loaded mashed potatoes, and wished we had more room to finish them, they were so good. The service at Hall’s is always impeccable, every person we interacted with made us feel “special,” and they really took care of my husband on his birthday. We received glasses of champagne to toast his birthday, and dessert with a candle in it. We’ve been to both the Charleston & Columbia locations, but agreed that the Greenville location is our favorite. The restaurant feels so big and open (but still intimate), and the full glass windows overlooking the river are beautiful. We will definitely come back to this location! Thank you Hall’s for a great meal and for making my husband’s birthday so wonderful!
We came for the 1st time to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were extremely welcoming and ready to accommodate. Our server was delightful and helpful. He presented us examples of the different steak options and this changed my husband and I’s choices. We both went with the American Rosewood Wagyu Flat Iron steak. They were the best steaks we have ever had. We were given complimentary champagne and a desert as part of our anniversary. Absolutely worth the cost for the fine dining experience. Will definitely we back and can’t wait to share it with family.
We went on Valentine's eve and it was very busy as you would expect. Live music could be heard throughout the 3 levels was nice but coupled with a packed house of patrons squeezed into small spaces, made it difficult to hear. We were greeted first by the floor manager and next several wait staff on top of their game ready to attend to our every want and need. We had a filet (get the pat of butter on top!) and twin pork chops 😋 😍. Trust me, the most tender and flavorful entrees! I ordered the Halls chop salad, it will not require you to cut it into bite size pieces formed in the shape of a small container surrounded by bacon bits. The sides are served family style. Meaning you are served portions on rectangle plates separate from your entree at your table. Creamed corn, sautéed mushrooms all good. Be prepared to take home if you like. The wine list is extensive, I chose a cocktail instead. If you like martinis, go for the King Martini, housemade orange pineapple infused vodka! Creme Brullee and done. The one downside was a table for two was a small round table, almost too small for our plates. We felt cramped between others.
Soup was just ok. Wasn’t bad but didn’t seem up to the mark for such a nice place. Steak was more pure. Just salt. Some may like or not like that. I thought it was good but I do prefer more seasoning with my steaks. This was the highlight of the meal. The dessert was a letdown. Caramel cake that had bland frosting. The bananas foster sauce was a great add.
Firstly, the service we received from start to finish was excellent. Our server was on point, the manager came to our table with some complimentary bubbles to toast our anniversary. He knew I was doing "dry January" so mine was a non alcoholic prosecco (Zonin, which was tasty, btw). Nice touch. There was a lot of good as well as some mediocrity in our meal however. My wife and I shared a cold lobster appetizer. It was way overcooked and dry, but it came with some drawn butter as well as some nice dipping sauces so we ate it happily. My chopped salad was amazing. Beautifully presented, well dressed and very tasty. We then split a dry aged ribeye steak. Beautifully cooked medium rare and delicious. We ordered 3 half sides to accompany it. Brussels sprouts, creamed corn, and risotto. All missed the mark. The sprouts were overdone and greasy, the creamed corn was barely warm, and the risotto was pasty and tastes like it had sat for hours. All in all we left happy because of great service but likely won't be back because of the misses in the food.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The dining room was huge and I would have preferred a more intimate setting. We did get a table by a window though so that was nice. The cocktails were delicious and the food was above average but we were not blown away like I felt we should have been considering how pricey this place is. Unfortunately, my husband said his steak was not tender. It wasn’t bad enough to complain but it wasn’t amazing either. I had the grouper which was a little bland. The scallops; however, were perfect and the dessert was scrumptious. Not bad for a chain restaurant but I think we’ll go somewhere local next time.
Be prepared to be spoken to/greated by every worker you walk past. Some may like this, for me and my party it became unpleasant. Bread was standard steakhouse affair, vaguely sour and good with butter, nothing exceptional. Appetizer of fried green tomatoes was mostly lovely, aside from one not-so-green tomato and the veg underneath the tomatoes being too earthy. Wet-aged ribeye was perfectly cooked and exceedingly delicious. Scallops were nicely cooked but offensively oversalted. The risotto underneath the scallops was unremarkable, with an appropriately drab appearance. Two sides. Baked potato was perfectly fine. Brocolini was an oily undercooked mess with no flavor. This is a pricey place for Greenville, so consistancy should be better. The restaurant space is very pretty but cramped.
Felt like an upper class restaurants, many staff serving and set up is pretty but tables are all so close, thankfully I didn’t hear anyone sick sitting by me but I enjoyed strangers’ conversations. Started off fast and appetizers came in 10min but our meals came 45min later. Calamari was worst I’ve ever had, old Thai sweet chili sauce(so sweet) drizzled on partially coated rings, barely any crunch. Onion soup had too much bread so the broth was absorbed and felt like a mush dish. Meats overcooked and such small portions for the $30-$60 per dishes we chose. Grilled veggies, fingerling potatoes, and French fries were delish. People next to use had so much food leftover but even the kids said no to having leftovers boxed. Should’ve left no tip, just so disappointed, especially as a birthday treat!
Perhaps mine was a one-off experience, but my meal was horrible. The tuna tartar appetizer was over salted, thankfully limes came with it to neutralize all the sodium. My ribeye was flavorless. My wife’s filet, gamey. Truffle French fries were inedible, again, over-salted. It seems that the food at Chophouse is either one of two extremes, no seasoning or grossly over seasoned. Salt being the extent of variety in this chefs repertoire. 3/10
