EXCELLENT! We visit every couple months. Great warm fresh chips, tasty salsa and EVERYTHING we have tried on menu is fantastic. NICE cocktail menu too. A must try if in the area.
Food's delicious. Staff are real friendly. It's in a cute outdoor mall and only a five minute walk from Union Station.
My grandparents brought my mother here to eat when she was a baby. My mother brought me to eat here since I was a boy. Now I bring my son here. When I am at Olvera Street I never ever eat anywhere except this place(unless someone else is treating.) I used to be homeless because of alcohol. One night I was hungry and had no money. This place gave me a meal. I love El Rancho Grande.
delicious Mexican Californian food cooked and served by skilled and quick persons. open since 1930, now in the 4th generation of family ownership. I had #1 off the menu, two hard shell tacos with beans and cheese. that plus a large horchata cost about $15, in February of 2022. support local businesses!
This place is so good for down to earth, good Mexican food. So simple and yet so tasty. Good reasonable prices too. I prefer to eat here instead of the restaurants everytime I'm at Olvera Street.
The best food on Olvera Street by far. Owner is kind and helped with our kids by giving them a small sample of rice for free when he didn't have to. All to keep the kids quite.
Delicious! Had the red chili pork burrito. It's huge and so worth another visit
Eat here whenever I go to Olvera St...
Always love coming here. Excellent food and prices. Love their shrimp enchiladas and tacos. Best in town. Service is always great and people are friendly
Most Delicious Red Chile In Town. Good Chile Makes Everything Taste Good. I Always Order The Beef Burrito With Xtra Chile. Been Coming Here For Years And Intend To Continue.. Try It..
Best restaurant and food on Olvera St, LA . The food is always so good. We stop here before a Dodgers game always. Excellent service and always very clean.
Went with our friends to Olivera Street for taquitos during a 10 hour layover at LAX. Exceptional service, excellent taquitos and the best guacamole salsa ever! My friend has been going here for over 70 years. Started as a kid… Met the family who owns it… friendly! The chef has known my friend all these years! A great time and lasting memories!
One of my favorite places in Los Angeles. Best taquitos with a great avocado sauce. Moved away but will always stop here every visit. Great service and friendly owners.
Enchiladas, Taquitos, Sopas are all great you won't be disappointed
This place is fantastic! Food was ready super fast and absolutely delicious. Best sopes ever! Jesse is so kind and helpful and he told us his family story of the restaurant. What an incredible legacy. LA history and incredible Mexican food. Yum!
My parents brought us here when we were very young. It is still our favorite place to eat when visiting Olvera Street. The food is always fresh, they put actual avocado in their guacamole and everything tastes like authentic mexican food. Personally my favorite is the taquitos, I could eat 20 if my stomach would allow. The service is awesome, they are always so friendly and makes you feel welcome. Jesse, the great grandson, who will be taking over one day was a sweet young man who I know will do his great grandfather proud. Please try it next time you're visiting Olvera Street....you won't be disappointed. We will definitely keep going there as long as we can.
Enjoyed pleasant walk from Assessor's Office Downtown L.A. to Olvera Street shops. Food there was delicious and good portion. Beautiful outdoor dining atmosphere.
Great place to eat. Very friendly and quick service. We enjoyed our meal
Excellent customer service. You immediately feel like a welcome guest invited over for dinner. This is the oldest restaurant in Olvera Street, originating in 1930, and is about to be 5th generation owned. Their food is infused with love and compassion. I chatted with the owner, gingerly asking is her restaurant was the one famous for taquitos. She pointed me in the right direction and invited me to enjoy the taqquitos I was after and to perhaps come back and try theirs. I ventured to the other famous spot and as the line was long, I made me way back, trusting my instincts. While enjoying my tacquitos served with a delicious avocado sauce, I witnessed the owner feeding a lovely homeless woman from New York, whom, in the spirit of what she was receiving, offered for me to share some of her food. The owner then brought me 2 Tacquiots from their famous competitor, so I could try both. Kindness is infectious, as is love. I witnessed the people that are here came in from the rush and instantly relaxed and were in turn kinder to the other patrons. Their food is incredible, prices are low, their service is extraordinary and I feel like they are a secret that should be shared. Here's hoping that as you browse through the vendors in Olvera Street, that you make your way to this little restaurant and get envelopeled in their magic.
This place is quintessentially Los Angeles Mexican Food in a nutshell. It's historic, the food is all made from scratch and the flavors as a result are magnificent.
It is an absolutely beautiful place to visit--and the food is probably the best there is--a rich history (almost 100 years) that is very much evidence of the beauty and majesty that is Los Angeles in the heart of Olivera Street.
El Rancho Grande, October 31, 2024, On 🎃Hollween Day👻 me & my family had came here to enjoy the best "Taquitos & 🥑 Guacamole Sauce" around here in (Olvera Street) is a true family tradition for years & their 🌮 Tacos & Enchilada's was just as good plus the beans & rice & salad you get with the combos or just as side orders. The Horchata & Jamaica was so delicious & tasty 😋 plus don't forget the 🌶️ chile salsa red or green. "Thank You" to your family for the years of great Spanish food & keeping the tradition alive. Viva! Marie Cajero & her family & descendants. 🇲🇽 🎉🎊 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s Great Job! 😎👍
El Rancho Grande is a hidden gem that brings the flavors of Mexico to Los Angeles in the most authentic and delightful way possible. Located in [insert address], this restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots for Mexican cuisine. The moment you step inside El Rancho Grande, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor, colorful artwork, and traditional music create an ambiance that immediately transports you to Mexico. It's the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The menu at El Rancho Grande is a true celebration of Mexican culinary traditions. From classic dishes like enchiladas and tacos to more unique specialties, they offer a wide variety of options that cater to every palate. The flavors are rich, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite is a taste of Mexico's finest ingredients and culinary techniques. One of the standout dishes at El Rancho Grande is their mouthwatering carne asada. The meat is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, making it an absolute treat for the taste buds. Paired with their homemade salsas and freshly made tortillas, it's a true delight that keeps me coming back for more.
It’s looks pretty longtime of his owner still same person ever since my first came here a El Rancho Grande restaurant on Olivera Street in Spring of 1993s, He’s been here almost over than years because of his family business was here, ( I Dunno 🤷♂️, I thinks possible dat early in 1930s) Right here have a too small space with eight tables. Depending how popular gets nearly crowded on weekends and less crowds of the weeks. I liked here because it’s inexpensive worthy food really deliciously it! Yum! 😋
This place has a soft spot in my heart, been coming since I was a child and my parents came to eat here since the 70's. Nacho (the tall gentleman) is always friendly, takes a quick order, and preps your food. You're here for an affordable, genuine home style meal, taquitos in particular. Prices have closely crept up over the years but you can get a meal for around $12 (including small drink). I usually order a #4 - 2 taquitos 1 cheese enchilada, beans with cheese and iceberg salad with tomatoes, and add an extra order of taquitos just to make my trip with it. It's a small dine-in with quick turnover on the tables. All meals are made as soon as you order so everything is fresh. My only complaint is that the sauces are not spicy, very mild, BUT they have good flavor. Tacos, bean and cheese burritos, enchiladas, sopes, quesadillas, and tostadas. Make sure to wash it all down with an horchata or Jamaica. Be warned, parking is a pain in the general area. There's a small parking lot directly behind Rancho Grande but they charge by time if you just want to make a quick stop (and I mean quick) to avoid the $15+ flat fee parking lots around.
Absolutely wonderful. I was walking around while waiting for a connecting train, and found this gem. I felt so welcomed! They made me a delicious breakfast and horchata, and my soul was full ☺️🌶️
I loved the food and especially their service. They were on top of it. Checking to see if everything was good.

Very tasty food, friendly staff, versatile atmosphere
I’ve enjoyed dining at El Rancho Grande several times, especially for their tasty tacos and classic Mexican favorites. The ingredients are fresh, and the portions are quite hearty. It’s a great place for a relaxed, satisfying meal.
My wife and I have enjoyed the “Numero tres” and multiple “dos de dos” for over 40 years. The family are always kind and respectful and the Taquitos are the bomb. My wife’s grandmother use to take her boys (my father in law) back in the 1940’s. Now my children love to go and hopefully soon they’ll bring their children to continue in the enjoyment of “Una numero tres por favor!” Thank you El Rancho Grande for being such a wonderful memory for our families. God bless you with many more memories to come.

One of my favorite places in Los Angeles. Best taquitos with a great avocado sauce. Moved away but will always stop here every visit. Great service and friendly owners.
Good food, good service, friendly people. No graffiti, clean & comfortable. Very reasonable prices. 3 choices of chili, mild, hot & very hot (for men).
I've lived in Liberty for my entire life and this is hands down the best Mexican place around. The other Rancho's don't get as good of reviews as this one - because this one is the best. Taco Tuesday deals are impeccable! Fun place to bring the family and kids to watch sports or go out for dinner.
Excellent little spot with great service. Menu is simple, everything is simply done but excellent. One of the better options in this area.
The area is very nice and rich with history ,but the food wasn't the best for 80.00. It was four of us . It wasn't worth it despite the nice staff. That is the only reason I am giving it a 4.
Took the metrolink to Olvera Street to get some good eats! After reading a few reviews, our first stop was El Rancho Grande. Very friendly, reasonable prices and good food.
It is a small place in the middle of the market. The food was delicious. The waiter was nice and it was not so expensive.
Quick service Mexican restaurant. Menu is pretty limited, but seem willing to make something not in the menu, if it's a variation of something they serve. The enchiladas were very good and flavorful, the taquitos were a bit dry with minimal filling inside. The red salsa was amazing, would definitely recommend buying some chips and red salsa. Close/convenient walking distance to LA Union train station
There are many taquerias on Olvera Street, but our favorite has been El Rancho Grande. Their Taquitos and Guacamole Sauce are the best in my opinion. Their tacos and enchiladas are also very good. The service is always good and they’re usually packed, just wait your turn for a table and be ready to enjoy delicious Taquitos. There is a small lot close to the entrance on one side and two big lots on the other side.
My family went to olvera St for the day and it was great !! So to end the day stopped at El Rancho Grande and it was awesome for us 😍. Took pics with pepe & Jr. Owner and cook.🤣🤣. We even had Mariachi come play a few tunes to top the day off..
Food was Alright customer service was excellent but the food is not for me but other people may like it. It’s something different

Pretty good experience with pretty good food in a cool old place 😀
I have been coming to this location On Olvera street sine 1974 With my parents, And then I started bringing my family to the next place and have always enjoyed the experience in the food. But last week I came here and I ordered the same thing I ordered every Single time, and i must say, the avocado sauce was bland. The beans didn't taste right? And there was no salad on my plate, That usually comes to the combination plate. The taco was not seasons very well and the most disappointing Thing was the hot sauce they had changed. It no longer had the Oriegano spice that made it unique. I even asked the owner of the restaurant if they had changed the sauce and he said yes. I will always come back. I just hope they don't change anything else.
Lukewarm enchilada with unmelted cheese. It seemed like they just didn't care enough to heat it up. There is so much good Mexican food in LA, I regretted going here.

These guys will nickel-and-dime you to death I hate to give a negative review but these guys were a bit rude and their prices are way off for the portion that is being given , two taquitos cost $3.60 almost $4 for 2!😳 Plus they use some water down stuff that they use as guacamole!🙄 With all that said I definitely would not go back to El rancho grande.
Very disappointed with my last visit with dia de los muertos - drove from nevada very excited about this day. They were busy so I stood by the counter watching this man who looked like the owner just walk back and forth - people on the tables waiting for their food. After like 15 minutes standing there I did not ever get acknowledged by this man. The service is terrible. If you can organize yourself and get and order of fried tacos in timely manner then there's some work to be done. Unfortunately had to to drive (after paying 20 dollars for parking) to king taco.
