Exceptional food. Visited this week and wow. Yorkshire on a plate is 100% achieved here. We love fine dining and this was well up there. Cannot wait to go back. Service was fantastic, lovely people, superb portions. The trio of pork was out of this world....no exaggeration!! You must visit, parking is easily accessible across the road and free of an evening. Love love love!

Excellent food and service, couldn’t fault anything. Will be returning again next time we visit Harrogate.

We've been multiple times and never disappointed but this time was especially nice. Food spot on, staff was all lovely and even put a sparkler in the desert as we was there for a birthday.

What an absolutely superb meal! My brother and I had a wonderful experience last night and were able to enjoy the 40th anniversary menu. I had the beautifully cooked Sole Meunière and my brother had the Cordon Bleu Chicken, so delicious. Wonderful staff and lovely atmosphere. 100% recommend a visit.

Superb restaurant in Harrogate. Food was excellent, service was impeccable and the staff is so friendly. Definitely enjoyed our dinner. We had the 2 course meal and the price was very reasonable. What else can one ask for?

Just been to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and we all really enjoyed the meal. In fact I can say it was the most tasty meal I have had in a restaurant for quite some time. Excellent staff just the right amount of attention.

A celebratory meal for our Wedding anniversary. We could not have been more pleased with the amazing service and exceptional food .The staff were attentive and the food mouthwatering. This place is worth all of the praise bestowed and glad we made the effort to travel and book . Scallops melt in your mouth , trio of pork , a blend of perfectly matched flavours & steak medallions that I stole a taste of.

Great service, team work, went out of their way to accommodate the wheelchair. Food was spot on. The chef knows his stuff. Best meal out of 2025 for all of us.

From the moment we crossed the threshold the service was exceptional. This place has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere, no trashy music, just a lovely hum from the diners enjoying their evening. The choice of food was fantastic, making it a difficult decision but everything that was served was generously portioned and beautifully cooked, if I could have gotten away with licking the plates clean I would have. Definitely worth a visit, and we will on our next visit to Harrogate.

Had an amazing Sunday roast, with a soup to start! Service was great and staff were super welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend it does get busy so best to book!

I went to The Tannin Level for the first time yesterday, we chose this restaurant after reading excellent reviews online. The restaurant itself was cozy and romantic which I loved. I ordered the Burnt Goats cheese for starters and Beef Loin for main, this was washed done with a bottle of New Zealand Marlborough white. The food came out promptly and tasted amazing, the flavours and quality was excellent, the Goats cheese was creamy and the beef melted in the mouth - I will definitely be going back when I am next in the area. Thank you Tannin Level for the wonderful experience.

Great decor and great food. I could have picked at least three starters and three mains. The staff were very good - the hospitality industry being as it is at the moment, you could see they were rushed off their feet but still provided an excellent service.

A lovely, friendly down to earth restaurant with a great wine list and thoroughly delicious food. Has a smaller room at the front with a bar area which opens up into a more spacious room at the back. Suitable for romantic dates, a meal with friends or parties!

Really enjoyed our birthday Sunday lunch. The food was Fabulous and the staff looked after us.

Fantastic food. We all had starters, mains and afters from the a la carte menu. All the dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The whole meal including wine and service charge came to a little over £50 per head which is very reasonable imo given the quality of the food. Definitely would recommend. 😀

I was TDY from the US and went here with some co-workers. Greatest food and desert I ever had. The Vinison was simply to die for! WOW!

Had great meal here celebrating our wedding anniversary. The steak was really good and cooked perfectly. Great portion of amazing chips as well. The desserts were on another level - the passion fruit meringue was unbelievable. All the staff were friendly and professional. Would highly recommend.

31/12/25: BRILLIANT!!!. Another superb meal at the Tannin Level. This restaurant never disappoints - lunch and evening meals are always special. An amazing, beautifully presented lunch today in their warm, cosy candlelit restaurant. The waitresses / waiters are very friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. Many thanks, we will be back!!!

We enjoyed a really good meal here as part of our anniversary celebrations,the menu was adapted for our needs and it was excellent. The service was friendly and knowledgeable with good wine and a rather nice ale too. Thank you.

It wasn't my first, or last, visit to the Tannin Level. It's a well established restaurant, with a great reputation. The atmosphere has an almost romantic feel, with thoughtful lighting throughout. Despite being on the lower ground floor, it felt spacious. However, it can get a bit loud when it's busy. Service was friendly, professional and mostly efficient. I really liked the menus. There's focus on in season produce and with local provenance. There were clearly marked vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. The food was delicious and well presented. I really appreciated the balance of flavours and textures. I felt the portion sizes were about right. Having a simple option like fish and chips on the evening menu would have been welcomed.

We had a very enjoyable Sunday Roast here. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly. Although it was excellent, it gets 4 stars because it isn't the best in Harrogate but its certainly up there.

Fairly unpretentious. Front of house staff good, but the waiting staff would benefit from a bit more training and experience; they're trying hard though! Food is good and a nice selection of reasonable wines. It's not fine dining but it's honest dishes done well. Will definitely be back as it's the best we've found in Harrogate so far (and we've been trying hard!)

Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend, and will visit again when I'm back in the area.

A quiet Monday early evening visit, food delicious, staff polite. We had the set 2 Course menu, it was extremely good value and excellent quality for the price paid

First time here. Enjoyed the food and service but there was a lack of fresh air! It felt a bit stale, otherwise very nice.

Lack luster this time! We had been to the Tannin Level on a previous visit to Harrogate, enjoyed our evening so we thought we would make a return visit. We were early week this time and the restaurant was not full, to be excepted or a sign? Either way, 'ambiance' was a bit flat. Menu looked fine, offered fairly traditional, local dishes, nothing that jump out though. Service was lack luster and somewhat unprofessional, I suspect due to a lack of training & supervision, but this rather detracted from the evening. Food was good but certainly nothing wow. I would think twice before returning.

We have been to Tannin Level many times over the years and have generally been quite impressed. Sadly not this time. The prawn cocktails were small and quite tasteless. The fish cake was also disappointingly small and quite thin. The venison duo had two very small pieces of venison and a fairly small and quite tasteless venison shepherd's pie with mash just piped on top and not browned. The desserts were all a disappointing size and really quite ordinary. We spent nearly £60 per head (with one bottle of wine) and expected so much more. Please be a little more generous with the portion sizes at these prices.

We booked to eat here for my birthday and I was truly disappointed. We had to order our food 2 days prior , which when we arrived, I found strange as the place was empty. Although the service was just ok although a little disjointed. We were bitterly disappointed in the food. The starters were average but the main courses that were ordered were way below what we expected. The chicken Kiev was dry with barely any garlic butter, the fish and chips were terrible as the batter was thick and soft. The burger was overcooked and only just edible. The deserts were very nice though. My guests and I felt very deflated about the whole experience of eating here as we were expecting much more than just bad pub food.
