10/10, highly recommend, everything we ate was perfect, best steak I’ve ever had, potatoes are also a must! We sat at the countertop which was a fabulous experience

So I have just been to this little hidden gem. The Sunday roast was fantastic, and the rustic nature of the venue was cute. What really stood out was the service by Mikey. He was attentive, polite and was able to have a laugh. A great asset to the place. Cannot wait to visit again and left as two very satisfied customers.

After wanting to visit Ox Club for a long time, I finally went for a birthday treat and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a cute, cosy setting with excellent service, and the food was genuinely delicious — I also love that the menu is small and focused. We shared the pigeon skewer, oysters and peppers to start, which were a great way to kick things off, then went for the steak to share. Yes, it’s pricey at £85 and sides aren’t included, but it was absolutely worth it: the meat was beautifully juicy and practically melted in your mouth. The potatoes and Caesar salad we ordered alongside were just as tasty, and it’s no surprise this place is always booked up — I’d highly recommend.

Sunday Lunch was absolutely fantastic. So tasty. Probably the best Sunday Roast I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back and will be bringing other people with me.

Visited for the steak. Reviews were justified. I enjoyed the sirloin, which was thick and tender, with a good amount of fat and a well-executed sauce. My partner enjoyed their weekday promo of an onglet paired with peppercorn sauce and lambs lettuce. The 'Strange Kompanjie' red wine went well with both. Service bright and welcoming, ambience convivial.

One of the best spots I’ve been to for modern British cuisine. Ambiance: romantic but unpretentious, which lets the food speak for itself. Food: The fries were so good we had to order another side of them. The mackerel was one of the best — if not the best — I’ve ever had. It was my first time trying a baked alaska, and that set quite a high bar as well. I hope we get to come back in the future.

Fabulous meal, the chicken with chicken hash brown was mind blowing. The sauce it came in had me like the astronaut in the spacetime corridor at the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey. The rump steak also great. The staff were so friendly and fun. Great value too!

Unpretentious interior decor and service but the menu is on the higher end of dinners out. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the smoke from their open kitchen which adds to the fact they’re known for their wood fire cooking. Service was good overall, our server explained the specials in detail, answered my questions about the menu well. For starters, we got the oysters (specials), beef tartare and sourdough with chicken fat as starters (all stunning, my firm favourite was the beef tartare). For mains, I ended up with the guinea fowl with sweetcorn puree and it was absolutely divine. It did not taste gamey at all. My husband got the sirloin on the specials menu which was good, he just regret not asking for medium instead of “chef’s choice” (ended up being more medium rare but this is a personal choice). Glad we came here instead of Flat Iron as it was suited to the occasion (husband’s birthday meal).

I have never been to the Ox Club before, so this is a very exciting experience for me. That is a very impressive accomplishment! In the beginning, I had heard some complaints about the service that was provided here, such as the staff not being friendly. As a consequence of this, I chose to go to a different location quite a few times. But! My perspective shifted after I went there for a celebration with a friend the previous month. The entirety of the staff is very warm and welcoming. Due to the fact that this is my first time doing anything, they are more than welcome to explain anything to me. The food is, without a shadow of a doubt, exceptionally mouthwatering. Even though it is a little bit costly, it is absolutely well worth the money. It is something that I think everyone should experience at least once!

Great food in a cosy setting with good friendly service. The pigs tails and the ratte potatoes were amazing!

Visited Ox Club for my birthday, having been before but a few years ago. Food was absolutely delicious. We shared some pardon peppers and olives while we chose our starters and mains. Highlights from the starters were beautiful Lindisfarne oysters with Mango and chilli and perfectly grilled in season asparagus. Mains also great especially the pork chop with charred pineapple and chipotle ketchup. Sea trout with ajo Blanco also excellent and my wife really loved the grilled watermelon with feta. Interesting list of wines from Wayward Wines. Staff we lovely and we had a great evening, and definitely won't leave it so long for our next visit.

Heard about the steak and fries offer for £16 so thought we’d check it out. Steak is done perfectly to my requested liking, generous portion of chips and their in house made butter complements the meal perfectly. We also got it with peppercorn sauce which was well made and perfectly seasoned. Service is good too. First time I came for this and would come again for this deal and possibly to try other things on the menu! Very naturalistic interior and chilled atmosphere too.

Delicious hidden gem in centre of Leeds. The service is outstanding, food is perfect, love the bbq concept. Highly recommended.

9 of us booked Sunday Lunch and the staff were brilliant, catered for allergies, and were all round faultless. Oh and the food was fantastic. If you haven't been then you are missing out. Well done Ox Club Team.😊

Could not recommend highly enough. We had oysters from the specials to start, the cote de boeuf as our main and a baked Alaska for desert. The waitress recommended a really nice wine with the food and it was very reasonably priced. Service was the perfect amount of attentiveness. Absolutely 10/10

Elevated British cuisine ⭐ The portions are not massive but the food is absolutely delicious! Such a treat. Perfect service, attentive but not overbearing. Absolutely loved it!

Amazing food. The pigs tails were the highlight but everything was so good. Our server was also really helpful.

Best British food I’ve ever had! I love all the sauces, seasoning was on point! Their menu changes too. Didn’t have to prebook if you come 6pm, I guess it’s early dinner, plenty seats. Great service, waiter gave good recommendations and very friendly, enjoyed our time there very much. My favourite was the ox heart with oyster sauce, it was an interesting texture that almost didn’t taste like heart (I’ve had chicken heart before) and the oyster sauce was creamy with a hint of oyster, I really enjoy the natural flavour of the ingredients, they were paired and chosen well. The mutton kofta itself was a bit tough and salty and in my opinion would’ve been better medium rare. The cherry tomatoes came with it were the best I’ve had, juicy and good balance of sweet and sour. The medium rare steak with pepper sauce was great too, we ordered fries on the side. Again the pepper sauce was excellent, it had a spicy kick to it, I’d buy all of their sauces. Steak was done well too. The basque cheesecake was ok, standard good cake, not too sweet.

The food was excellent. I can highly recommend the pigs tails. The wine and non alcoholic options were also lovely along with the waiting staff who were knowledgeable and helped us with our choices. The only downside for us was the toilets were a trek through a busy bar which then ruins the calm dining experience.

Came for a special occasion, was great to go to Headrow house for some drinks before hand. Waiters gave good recommendations for food and made it feel really special. The steak and chips deal was delicious, it was clear that despite being one of the cheapest dishes this did not have an impact on the quality. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I visited Ox Club for a Friday date night after hearing it mentioned on the "Off Menu" podcast. The decor is incredibly cool, and the aroma from the wood-fired grill hits you the moment you walk in, immediately making you hungry. It’s a great spot for couples on dates, small groups, or even solo diners who can sit by the kitchen and watch the chefs at work. One slight quirk is that the toilets are located through the bar opposite the entrance; on a Friday night, that walk can feel a bit "sketchy" compared to the refined atmosphere of the restaurant itself. The menu was a succession of hits. The absolute standout for me was the crispy pig tails—a dish I’d never seen on a menu before. They were extraordinary, perhaps some of the best meat I’ve ever tasted, reminiscent of perfectly cooked rib meat but with a delicate layer of crackling. Since it was near Christmas, we also tried the turkey leg tacos, which were fantastic. We finished with the Baked Alaska for pudding, and I can honestly say it was the greatest I’ve ever had. Whether you're there for a romantic evening or part of a small group—there was a party of golfers or similar nearby during our visit—the quality of the food remains top-tier. It’s honest, flame-cooked food that doesn't hide behind gimmicks. If you’re a fan of high-quality meat and a relaxed, trendy environment, Ox Club is a must.

Me and my partner visited Ox Club for his birthday. From start to finish the service was incredible. I would like to thank Gabby for her attention to detail, recommendations and also making our experience overall amazing. Food was 10/10 - definitely worth the hype. We also loved how we could get a drink after at Headrow house next door. Price is also decent for everything we had. The only thing is we wished the smoked marg was spicy (but thats my bias). I'm definitely coming back for a roast!

R
Rob Derbyshire

No been for years but had the Sunday roast last weekend. Maybe because they have been around for a while this roast might get overlooked. But it was fantastic! Porchetta was amazing, loads of well cooked veg and ended with a divine slice of Basque Cheesecake. Right up with the best roasts in Leeds

A

The food here is just so delicious, I loved the robust flavours but it was the textures that clinched it . Everything was beautifully cooked and all supported by an esoteric wine list that included organic sulphur free wines. The decor was brutal and as the wait for food was lengthy more comfortable chairs would have helped so take a cushion!

A

Simple but unique menu. Food was cooked to perfection and service was exceptional.

Fantastic food, really lovely. Good service. Only marked it down because on the night we were there it was rather cold inside. Mind you was freezing outside !

I took my dad here last night for his 50th birthday and I was blown away by the whole experience. One of the staff members edited the menu for me as I’m vegan, and was so helpful giving me alternative options. When the food came it was unreal. The tomatoes and feta starter to die for and the aubergine main WOW. Thank you so much to the team, for creating such a memorable night for me and my dad. Will definitely be back!

Very well-hidden secret of a fine dining in Leeds Priced similar to Ivy but you can not compare the two in terms of decor, atmosphere, service and of course food. This little gem wins any day. If anything it beats much more expensive places like Home, Crafthouse or Box Tree in every possible way. Wish I knew about this place earlier, it would save me from so many disappointments. Very simple menu with locally sourced ingredients, Gordon Ramsay would be very pleased! Every dish is cooked to perfection. Portions are just the right size to have a satisfying meal but not too large or ridiculously minuscule. We had fresh Czech beer from the bar next door and it was equally tasty. Will definitely try something from the wine list next time. Overall, I would say this is THE best place to eat right now in Leeds. Great job and thank you so much guys.

One of the best steaks I’ve had in Leeds. Service was excellent, the waitress was lovely and super helpful. We had a bottle of wine which I could have drank 7 of it was delicious.

We requested the Chef’s table and it was great seeing the food being prepared. The food was amazing can’t fault it - beautiful flavours and texture. Definitely will return 5*

Regular returner to Ox Club. The Feed is always good. The Service is always great. The chop night is a delight but the Alpine Chop night was out of this world. You will not be disappointed with a trip to Ox. Exceptional meat dishes, the schnitzel and the short beef rib were amazing. So much flavour, so moist and the quality is so high. All sides were delicious! The baked Alaska was just a complete delight!

I can’t even begin to get my head around how good this whole dining experience was. The food, service, ambience, chicken dripping. All amazing. Truly splendid. Oh, I didn’t even mention the wine. Geez. Loved every minute of it.

Amazing lunch here ... Top notch ingredients skillfully prepared .. It's the only place in the Michelin guide in Leeds and it certainly richly deserves the ranking.. Highly recommended

This had to be the best roast I’ve eaten. The pork was so well cooked with thin crisp crackling. Wish I’d taken more pictures as it came with loads of seasonal veg and pomme anna potatoes. If you live in Leeds, lucky you. I’d definitely do the journey from Bristol again for this.

First visit to this establishment and it will not take long for us to go back, wow what a beautiful Sunday dinner that was so flavoursome from the Chicken to the Lamb and Pork each mouthful was a delight, the veg was plentiful and equally packed with flavor. The staff excellent and attentive, we have eaten our favourite meal in all the top end establishment in Leeds over the years and this place just shot straight to the top as our favorite Sunday dinner. Hats off to the chefs 👏👏, the adjoining bar served a great pint too.

Fab Sunday lunch for my wife's birthday. Incredible meal, loved the sides too. Can see why they've been recommended in the Michelin guide for many years. Great service too.

I've now been to Ox Club at least four or five times and have always had a fantastic experience. Outstanding service and the food is always cooked to perfection. It's on the pricier side but it's worth it. No gimmick here, just good food. One of my favourites in Leeds and I cannot wait to visit again.

So good that we travel from our home in Leicester for Sunday roast here. Also went to the recent 10 course tasting menu, both meals were, as ever, outstanding. The service also matches the quality of the food. Cannot speak highly enough of either. Thanks to all at the Ox Club for treating us so well.

I have been here for sunday roasted once and very enjoyed the food and vibe here. Last week, I decided to come here again to celebrate my birthday with friends. All dishes were very nice as last time. The atmosphere was also calm and relaxed. The price was a bit pricey but it’s worth the quality. However, I wished the waitress could be more sincere to customers. My friend brought the birthday cake and was told to be charged £7. The bill finally came with £7 per head, which means £35 charge for five of us for bringing the birthday cake. We don’t mind to pay this amount but we wished the staff explained to us straightforward.

E
Emily Elliott

Really cool vibe in the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited and for £90 I don’t think we received enough steak for our money. The bread is insanely good and everything was tasty. Service was average and they do make a good negroni but I don’t think this warranted a £20 service charge.

M
Mabel

An interesting quaint hole in the wall, with a precious michelin star! Booked this for that reason, and was joyful about what we received. Innovative but not necessarily amazing.. Definitely an experience. Had the pig tails, artichoke, and duck for starters. Then the steak. Fun combinations and harmonious flavors. This was the menu and specials of the day.

H
Helen Louise

Great food and service Restaurant was a little cold Did not like having to go through the beer hall on a busy Saturday night to access 'nightclub' style toilets. This puts a bit of a dampener on what is otherwise a great dining experience and could be improved.

M
Michael Armstrong

Fantastic. Booked a table for my wife and I for lunch on Saturday. Got there early but was warmly welcomed, and given a table. The place is small, and there's only a few staff, but they don't need any more as the service was great - professional but so friendly. At no point did we feel pressured or rushed, or that they were overwhelmed. The kitchen is quite small, but that means nothing as the chef's turn out some excellent dishes. We had Lindisfarne Oysters with Kimchi and Spring Onion and Grilled Bread with Chicken Schmaltz as 'snacks'. The Oysters were beautiful and the bread was warm and crusty. Not exactly sure what schmaltz is, but it was perfect for dipping the bread. We then both had the Lamb Skewer for a starter. Sightly charred and beautifully soft with a very tasty glaze. After that came the Jerk Monkfish and the 8oz Onglet Steak with crispy chips, and a side of Crispy Potatoes with Kimchi Mayo. Beautifully presented, they tasted even better than they looked. We finished with Grilled Strawberries and the Burnt Basque Cheesecake. I do a lot of barbecuing but I've never had grilled strawberries before and was pleasantly surprised how nice they were. Didn't really look to closely at the drinks menu, but the Five Points Pale Ale was very nice too. We're not in the area often, but the next time we are, we'll definitely return.

S
Sandro Cavaleri

Really good food, ambience and service! Only four stars because -for the standard of restaurant and the league at which it plays- I believe its food should have delivered more. Texture for both our octopus and babyback ribs wasn’t tender enough. Rather chewy. But besides this, this is a place where I would go back right away!

E
Ella TR

It was my first time at the restaurant. All foods were really excellent especially beef dishes. However, my friends and I got charged unethically for £35 cake fees. The waiting staff informed us that there will be a charge of £7 for bringing our own birthday cake in and we agreed to that. Intentionally or not, she never mentioned ‘£7 PER HEAD’. That caused us a very disappointing moment with this restaurant. All conditions should be informed to customers clearly because it was not that we didn’t ask for permission prior to this.

K
Kevin McGuire

4 of us ate at the Ox Club cost just under 300 pounds. But I was left with a major issue. The main course on a Burns Night themed menu was Lamb Chop. yes thats correct one Lamb chop. Personally I believe that is not good enough.

X
X

Not sure where this 4.7 rating came from, must be paid ads or something. The food was seriously average. I was actually shocked at how badly they managed to do the most famous Spanish dish, the padrón peppers. The skin wasn’t even cooked through, seasoning was way too salty. Took one bite and sent it back. When the waiter asked what was wrong, we told her this just isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. She shrugged and said “well, that’s padrón peppers.” We were speechless. Look, I’m no chef, but I’ve had them in Spain and this was nothing alike. As for the steak, which I assume is meant to be their signature, it wasn’t anywhere near as tender or high quality as I expected. I’ve seen their Instagram photos and I’ll give credit, whoever took those pictures is seriously talented, because the real thing is miles off. The vibe inside is decent, I’ll admit, good for a date spot, but the food was honestly poor. If you think this is the best you’ve had, maybe you just haven’t had proper food before. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that’s the truth. And when we left, not even a goodbye from the staff. Guess they just can’t handle criticism.😅 And let’s be real, if you’re charging that kind of money, the dishes need to live up to the price tag. They absolutely didn’t. Terrible experience, won’t be coming back. Oh, and to make it worse, this was me and my partner’s two-year anniversary dinner. Couldn’t have been more disappointing.

✔️First two photos are the lower level where we were seated ✔ Last photo shows the upstairs dining area We had a reservation at Ox Club and were the first to arrive. We were seated in the lower-level area by the window, which was noticeably cold — cold enough that we kept our coats on throughout the meal. What stood out to us was that we remained the only table downstairs for the entire evening, while every other group that arrived after us was seated upstairs in the warmer dining area. The downstairs space stayed empty even as more guests came in. We also couldn’t help but notice that we were the only Asian table that evening, and all the guests seated upstairs were white. We genuinely hope there was a clear operational reason for the seating arrangement, but from our perspective, the pattern did raise questions and made the experience feel uncomfortable. The food itself was enjoyable, but the seating experience affected our overall impression.

T
Taeri Im

We dined at Ox Club with a reservation and happened to be the first guests to arrive that evening. We were seated in the lower section of the restaurant, next to the window. Unfortunately, this area felt very cold — enough that we kept our coats on throughout most of the meal. To be fair, the server who attended to us was courteous and responsive. When we mentioned the temperature, he switched on a radiator for us. Even so, the downstairs space never really warmed up and remained uncomfortable. What we found difficult to understand was the seating arrangement. Although we were the first to arrive, every group that entered after us was seated upstairs, which appeared noticeably warmer and more central to the main dining atmosphere. The lower level stayed empty for the rest of the evening. As the only Asian table present, while all other guests seated upstairs appeared to be white, the overall situation felt awkward and left us wondering about the rationale behind the allocation. We genuinely hope there was a practical explanation, but from our perspective the optics were unfortunate. The food was enjoyable, and the service itself was friendly. However, the seating decision significantly influenced how we experienced the evening
