Live music on the professional sound stage is very popular and a huge plus for this venue. Cocktails are generous and reasonably priced, and - best of all - no cover charge! The vibe here is so sincere. From the second we walked in, greeted by Big Tib (security) welcomed us to with open arms, then I believe it was Tony the bartender absolutely crushed it getting us drinks so fast, and then to top it off Kim aka “ Kimmy Kim” took it from there. What a great experience for my first time here. Can’t wait to come back

The best LGBTQIA + friendly bar in the east bay! Has indoor sitting, dance floor, back open air patio with it's own bar and performance stage for bands, drag, and soooooooo much more. The staff is the friendliest you'll ever find. 🥰

This place is amazing. Definitely the best bar in Hayward. I've been a patron for the past 10yrs, I've seen the bar grow and evolve. Whether your gay or straight it doesn't matter, the bar always has a welcoming vibe. The patio is perfect and the inside gives you that dive bar feel without being too grungy. If you're from the local area it's definitely worth a check out. The drinks are decently priced as well.

Went here to celebrate my friend's birthday. Her favorite band was playing friends of Ken . Nice outdoor area with a dance floor . Nice bar area outside and inside too. Had a nice time listening to the band. Nice crowd for a Sunday evening.

Great place! Live bands. Salsa every third Friday! It gets packed. But there is always room to dance and plenty of parking. You're bound to make new friends. Best of all there's no cover charge. And yes there's a variety of alcoholic drinks even coffee.

I had a fantastic time. We enjoyed a great Thanksgiving meal, and a drag show. I purchased a few raffle tickets and won a nice gift. Super fun evening 🌹.

It was great with company. Karaoke though was very selective. After an hr waiting, never got to sing while others sang multiple songs. Bartenders were very awesome.

The live band was excellent, the place is a bit small, specially in the back area, not much sitting space. Place atmosphere could improved, a bit messy. Drinks are also very good I wish they play Salsa, Latin music. Definitely room for improvement. Never saw a waiter asking me if I need a drink, had to go to the bar inside.

I have been coming here for over 20 years. The bartenders and staff are nice. Drinks are good. The outside area is cute and comfortable. The bands that I have seen play are pretty good. There is now a cover charge of $5 and you can't come and go after 12:30 pm even with your wrist banded. The reason I'm giving this review a 1 star is for the DJ. I was here recently on two separate Saturdays. I swear he played the same exact set. "The Tide Is High" song is odd to hear on a dance floor. He plays lots of songs that do not feature the original artists but cover artists. Towards the end of both nights he played 70's style music and the few people on the dance floor just kinda stopped dancing. He's terrible at mixing songs and ignored anyone who would ask nicely for a shout out for a special occasion. I'm hoping he'll make some changes or The Turf will welcome in some new DJ's who know about variety.

this incident happened the night of 8/28/2025: I made a review before and it was about Jayman. I deleted it because I didn’t want to cause any problems but at this point I have to make another review and I will be keeping it up here. He was absolutely rude again. I walked in the establishment to meet my friends after a long day. I sit next to my friends we begin to talk and my friends asked him if he can get a drink. then Jayman rudely tells my friend “is this your friend that had a hoodie on last time?” he then proceeds to say that he can’t serve him while i’m here and that he isn’t able to serve me either due to my last review about him over him RUDELY telling me he couldn’t serve me due to my little hoodie being on...I am a POC with a hoodie on. It’s late night, it’s cold outside, I had hair down with my hoodie on. so the first interaction when he approached me in a rude manner and an aggressive tone I definitely took offense to that, and left quietly the first time. That night my second time being there I didn’t have a hoodie on and he still had a super nasty attitude towards me once again and I still literally never said anything to him STILL. After he told me aggressively he couldn’t serve me because of my review I quietly left again. At this point Jayman is racist and he also has horrible customer service. I feel very unwelcomed when i came to this bar the first time and after this second experience. I definitely won’t be going back to this place after that night. He’s mad at me because of how he treated me last time and he said that I made his “boss” get on him and tried to get him “ fired”…how is this establishment hiring people like this? Jayman is NOT PROFESSIONAL WHATSOEVER! The fact that he is still being rude is insane and I still never said anything to him. I hope the owner talks to him again because he so nasty towards people. After this second experience with him I will make sure to tell people not to go this unwelcoming establishment especially with racist people like him still working there.
