We were in Healdsberg for a few days visiting and wanted Mexican food. We found this place and are sure glad we did. I had the enchilada and taco combo with beans and rice. It was really good. The next time we are in town we will be back.

The food is delicious and the portions are big. It is not a fancy place but it is clean. We sat at a table outdoors. Taking a walk in and around the area was ideal. I look forward to going again.

The tacos were deeeelicious. I had asada and lengua. Let me tell you that it's hard to find Lengua tacos and even harder to find good ones. These were so yummy!

I had the super burrito with shrimp and they absolutely nailed it. It was big enough that I took half home for my lunch tomorrow! The place was busy on a Monday during lunch hour, so you know the locals like this place. I look forward to trying some other items on their menu.

Our standby favorite for Mexican food in Healdsburg for years. A phone call gets you to the head of the line, but since it's a small store, it gets pretty busy with only one person at the register and a line waiting to order. So, when I call in I always say: "I'd like to make an order", instead of actually making the order. This allows for someone who might be waiting there in line to be taken care of before me. I order a take out Super Burrito with grilled chicken con todo once a week, religiously. The food and service are excellent! And they know my name, even when their only clue is my voice on the phone.

Had great El Pastor and Carnitas tacos, were tasty and could feel the family atmosphere of the owners there. I nearly finished them before my friends had their food across the street, and spent less than half the cost. ~$10 super burritos too, can't beat that.

I really enjoyed eating here! We had a large group of 9 people and thankfully we were able to pull together three tables easily on a busy Saturday night. I had the carne asada plate and it was perfectly delicious! The Pico is very spicy, but free with tortilla chips while you wait for your food. They will bring it to your table. Lots of families here enjoying a night out. You order at the counter so no extra cost for tipping servers or parties of 8 or more. Restaurant was clean and orderly.

You are getting more protein in two tacos here than in five down south. These tacos are not filled, they are engineered upward like architectural meat monuments. Juicy, stacked, and absolutely not playing around. The staff are chill and welcoming, and the setup is pure mom and pop taco stand energy that makes you feel like you just teleported across the border for a minute. If you are complaining, you either hate flavor, hate fun, or just need a hobby. For everyone else, get the tacos.

Hot, spicy Mexican food, order at the counter and they will serve you. Selection of beer and non-alcoholic drinks are self-service. Not much atmosphere, but it seems to be a popular place to eat.

Where the locals eat. El Sombrero has been in business for over 30+ years. It is a locally family owned business and the food is great. If you want some good salsa, El Sombrero Is the place. I usually go for the tacos with tripas, chorizo, and a pastor are my favorites. Try it! I would have taken pictures but when I realized, it was too late.

Potions were good size, prices are reasonable, flavor needs some work, but good salsa , I had their crispy tacos ala carte , was full off 1. I would come back to try more menu items.

I work next to here and they're a lifesaver when I'm hungry on my breaks. That makes it the best Mexican food in town to me, but it doesn't hurt that it's also darn tasty!

Delicious burritos. Clean establishment. Good service, did not wait long even though we walked in for our pick up order. Only 4 stars because they had only 2 options for vegetarians. My boyfriend said the AI Pastor burrito was delicious and they gave us plenty of tortillas chips with our small guacamole, which was tasty.

We absolutely loved the food at this cute local restaurant. However staff was not the most friendly nor did they smile or go the extra mile. They did their jobs just fine but there wasn't the typical hospitality that you would expect. I don't think we received a single smile the entire time! 😐 The chips and dip that are provided as complementary appetizers are fabulous. We enjoyed the outdoor seating that allowed us to let our dog join us during dinner service. I got a super burrito with carne asada and it was as good as any super burrito I've ever gotten. Which means a lot because there are tons of Mexican places in California and this one was just as good as all the best. My wife got the chili relleno and beef enchilada and enjoyed it very much. This was her special dinner after having surgery at the local hospital and she devoured more than she's eaten in weeks. It was very good and she said that the chile relleno was cooked properly the way it's supposed to be. She should know she is a chef at her own restaurant. The guests were chatty and friendly which kind of made up for the sour puss attitude of the servers. We like this place and will come again and hopefully the servers will smile this time. Maybe we should crack a joke and get them to lighten up. 😊👌

When my wife and I were dating she lived just up the road from here and we enjoyed the food here a lot. I went back a few years ago and the food was still great, it hadn't changed a bit. I love the little hole-in-the-wall places, they always seem to be the best.

Had the shredded chicken tacos, which were decent, just could have used a little extra fresh onion, salsa, or Chile . Good food ,though.

This place used to be one of my go tos but the quality of the food really went downhill. I honestly don't know what happened to this place because everything used to be top notch.

Great food, but with this lockdown, they are overloaded with phone in orders. We walked in, ordered 2 items, waited over an hour while they put the phone in orders up first..they easily put 20 orders in front of us. Then, when we did get it home, it was wrong..I get, everyone calling in, but when you walk in you should get some priority?

Food was good but overpriced for a burrito, quesadilla and two cans of Diet Coke. 39 bucks plus tip for lunch. Counter Service only and it is spotty. We ordered food to eat in at the Restaurant it was not busy and we were told not to worry our order would be out when ready and to pick a seat. Chips and salsa brought right over and all is well. Then a rush of people. Not too much later the counter attendant comes to double check what we ordered and then brings it wrapped and packed to go. SMH.

I was disappointed. Maybe they had a bad night. The tamale was so dry, it qualifies for the worst tamale I've had. The al pastor was also dry and lacked the normal flavor profile. Less concerning: the avocado had many brown parts and we had to wait quite a while for the order to be ready. Other parts of the meal were okay.

All good things must come to an end and it has finally happened here for as long as I can remember consistency has been the reason for my continuous support of this establishment. I don't know if there's been a change in ownership or management but the quality is no longer there the food is not what it used to be the days of this being my favorite Mexican spot have come to an end but as always I suggest you try for yourself and see if you agree. This is a sad reality. If anyone involved in ownership or management reads this please examine the changes that have occurred and make whatever Corrections that you can as I would like to continue to support your business. Update 2/13/2024: Tried again last nite, it's gotten worse. Food was cold, there were hardly any beans in my burrito.I ordered the Al Pastor, not even close it was so bland it may have been Asada. So disappointed.

Efficient service. You order and pay upfront at the counter and then servers bring your order and some complimentary chips and a hot red salsa and some Pico de Gallo. Order sizes are very large and decent value for the prices charged. My burrito was huge but mainly consisted of rice and refried beans giving it a somewhat gummy consistency. The Al Pastor pork was very finely chopped so harder to identify. Tasty, filling and enjoyable enough but not great. Staff keep tables clean and tidy even when busy and there are seats outside for warmer days. Indoors is clean and cheery as befits a Mexican restaurant.

I've been there for over 30 years when they were single store and buckled tiles so I was shocked to find my website burrito of 11.95 was 23.38 with a 3.35 tip! Pay your employees not your customers. Last time after 30+ years.

There were rocks in my food!!! I was just trying to enjoy my chile relleno when I felt jagged objects hurting my teeth, which I found out to be two small pointy rocks in my food…When we told the cashier, they did not seem surprised or concerned that this happened which was surprising. I told her she might want to notify the cooks but she didn’t seem to care. We did get compensated but the matter was not handled well and without much concern to us or in make sure it doesn’t happen again sadly.

I ate here last night. I paid with a credit card. The cashier asked for my ID, then returned it and immediately gave me my table number stand card. I did not realize that I had not received my credit card, as it was busy and the next person stepped up. I then sat 5 feet from register for an hour to visit and eat my meal and no one attempted to return my credit card, but I had put a freeze on the account. This morning I received a friend request from an unknown person of Latin decent, which I thought odd, having just eaten at a Mexican restaurant. Most likely a coincidence, but better safe than sorry.

We came in we usually get good services but our order to go came up really fast! We asked to put our chips & dip in to go bag. You wrote down 2 crunchy tacos with cherish no sour cream, a super burrito. 1 fish tacos, one shrimp taco! We are out of shrimp. Ok 2 soft tacos fish. We sat down and it came up quick ! We drove back to gyserville tacos! I called she thought I changed my order. My boy friend even repeated the order. So I called she got mad and hung up on mere no crunchy

Ordered a super burrito Al pastor .Been craving this for a long time.There was no sour cream or guacamole.It was Just rice and beans hardly tasted the meat.

We ordered a vegetarian burrito and taco with no dairy, and the cashier even showed us the screen with the mods noted. We are vegan and our stomachs cannot handle dairy. After waiting 25 min, we left with our order to sit at the park. Both orders were smothered with cheese and sour cream. It was inedible and we had to throw it away.

The place didnt check my online pickup order so had to wait 20 minutes for them to make my food. Plus someone sneezed in the kitchen without covering their mouth. To top it off, they did not include the taco in the taco and enchilada combo. Waste of time (40 minutes) and money ($15 for as it turns out 1 enchilada combo plate). Food was luke warm and mediocre so not even great food to make up for the hassle and ripoff.

Had menudo and it was subpar. It did not taste fresh. Had to ask for cilantro and should not have to ask. It supposed to come with it. Chicken enchilada plate was not the consistency of real chicken.
