I went to chicken express for the first time to get food Togo,I received my order,I didn’t see any napkins in the bag,I asked the lady who gave me my order about napkins,she said they were in the box,after getting to my destination there wasn’t a napkin to be found,it’s really a inconvenience to order food Togo and there isn’t any condiments for your food

We were heading to our hotel in Kilgore and realized that Apple Maps had sent us to Henderson instead. At this point, we also realized that we needed both a bathroom and a snack before heading on. Chicken Express had both. The bathroom was nice and clean, and the food was awesome! Everything was great ... the 1/2 spicy & 1/2 regular tenders, an order of chicken livers, rolls, and the gravy that came with it all. Never having been to a Chicken Express before, we were thoroughly impressed and agreed that it would be one of our "new" places when visiting Texas. It was all cooked to perfection! Thanks, Chicken Express, for being there in our time of need!

Sometimes I stop at Chicken Express in Henderson on my way home to Nacogdoches. I am really glad I did today the meal was the best I've had. The chicken strips were nice large pieces the rolls were great the gravy was great and I just wanted to let them know keep doing a good job!

Good food, but if you order livers or okra, you always have to wait 6 to 8 min. It's alright if you are expecting this, but not if you pull up hungry and in a hurry! Now that I know this, I can arrive with the proper mind set and don't mind. I appreciate the fact that they are hot and smell SO-O-O good!!!

The food, Service & Atmosphere was excellent! We've been driving multiple hours and stop by a familiar establishment just to be met with a much better experience than our usual outings, way to go Chicken Express Employees!!

I got the 4 piece spicy #1 with Mac and cheese and a sweet tea. I got liver and fried pickles on the side. Everything came out in a very timely manner and was very tasty. My only food complaint is the pool of oil at the bottom of my fried pickles. Other than that the food and service was wonderful.

Came into to get some lunch. Both got the 2 piece meals with rolls. The rolls were to die for. The chicken was pretty good also. The server was courteous and friendly and the place was very clean.

Food is decent , but sometimes the employees have a problem with getting the Order correct and it’s like they be talking to fast trynna get you to hurry up and make an order and idk if y’all using the same grease to cook the fish , but if so that needs to stop because the fish is too salty when cooking the fish y’all need to cook it in different oil not the same oil as the chicken I mean I could be wrong maybe yall are using different grease for the fish but it’s doesn’t seem like it tbh it’s way just too salty

Used the drive thru and had a little hiccup with my order, but I'm calling it my fault for not paying attention to the order being read back. Food was good, crew got it out quick, no complaints there. The massive pothole out front needs to be watched out for though! Sheesh

I REALLY like Chicken Express's Chicken Strips! The biscuits and white gravy are great too. I like dunking my strips in the gravy, it tastes so good together. To me, Chicken Express is pretty expensive, but they usually give a few more strips than the meal usually calls for. When I go to the Carthage location, I get the fish, and it's really good, too. I have also tried the fried gizzards, in Henderson and they are always hot and crunchy, even if I have to wait a bit longer for them. My only complaint for the Henderson location, is that, being a "Big, Boned" woman, the seats are really tight for me, LOL.

Service is usually good food is good most of the time But their fish is hard around edges and hard for people with teeth problems to chew also they sell cookies and there really good when they have them cooked . My issue is your a restaurant and you have cookies on the menu so why aren't there any cooked and ready? And when it's your favorite thing they cook and they tell you they don't have any it tends to make you mad and disappointed, and all you get told is sorry there's none . Well thanks a lot. That doesn't help me understand why there's not any ready it is a restaurant.

I don't know if the whole company is doing this, but I'm not interested in paying more because I don't go to an ATM before going to chicken express. Good luck with expecting people to stop using debit cards.

Quick family meal option that doesn't taste all to great. My mashed potatoes were gritty and cold. Chicken was okay if your not worried about your health.

5pm on Monday when you run your special the chicken need to be drop down ahead of time nobody should have to wait 20 25 minutes

Customer service was great. We ordered 20 tenders family with biscuits and 9 gizzards with biscuits. We was told it would be 9 minutes wait. We received order under 9 minutes but had rolls instead. Pulled back around to drive window explained not a problem was given the biscuits and was told to keep the rolls. Got home made plats, and rolls was great. Best thing on the plate besides the colsaw. Don't recommend anything else but rolls and colsaw, great costumer service.

Friendly staff great service but the outside around the parking area is a complete mess. Looks like a landfill with all the Styrofoam cups laying around. It seems to be the only fast food business in Henderson that doesn't clean up the environment around their facility. Now I'm starting to wonder how are they actually keeping their work areas.

I do love there chicken. The livers are a required taste. But I always feel there not cooked all the way or over cooked. And there drinks are good priced

Decent food most of the time. Tonight, they were out of macaroni and cheese. I also asked for Ranch dip for hot wings, cheese sticks, and fried pickles. They gave me enough for the wings only..... Even after I asked for it with each ordered item. I only got the little bit I got after asking to make sure they included enough for everything. This is not the first time this has happened here.

Unfortunately this place just didn't make me want to come back. The tea is still the best thing up there and still the only thing reasonably priced. A 7-piece chicken strip meal was $18 by itself. I was shocked but it was still good chicken strips. I also got a six piece chicken liver meal and unfortunately they were not thoroughly cooked. This is the second time I've had that issue. Again for the price, I did expect them to be cooked all the way. I understand that inflation is driving up prices everywhere, but I don't think it's asking too much to expect food to be cooked properly. I may stop in for some sweet tea here and there but I can cook the same meal for fraction of the price.

So I use to love going here because it was reasonably priced and the food was worth it. Well now when you go here the prices are higher than if you go to a dining place. The food is OK but the mashed potatoes are instant and they charge you 5 dollars! The chicken is still good and so is the fried okra and corn nuggets. But you definitely can get better for your price at a sit down restaurant. Only go here if it's just for you and not a family.

I was visiting for work and usually I love the chicken here, but first the service was poor, employees seemed to hate their jobs. Second they were out of basically every sauce that chicken express offers. Third the chicken tenders were so incredibly DRY!!! The mashed potatoes had so much pepper they were inedible! I asked for BBQ sauce ( the only one they had) and they forgot it, so I went up to the counter and asked for one, the employee seemed very put out and gave me a sauce that had dried sauce all over it! I would avoid this chicken express and eat somewhere else!

Place used to be great but nowadays it seems it's lost that greatness. Even a simple order like a sweet tea and your odds are 50/50 if it's sweet or not. The food used to be like no other but now it kinda has a spoiled smell to it like golden chicken.

I ordered the chicken tenders and they were the best, they were fresh, they were crispy, but not hard or under cooked. The only prob we had was with the cashier, she was really fast, but a little too fast. She handed me my drinks and didn't give me time to sit them in the holder, "Ma'am your order!!" Then we had to wait on my debit card. She could have handed me the drinks while running the card. She didn't give us a spoon for the mash potatoes. If she wasn't in such a hurry; she was making tea and really busy.. but that's no excuse for having an attitude with a customer. I always ran the card before I handed the customers their food.

Chicken is decent at best. Tenders are good. But it never fails, order chicken and have to wait 20 to 25 minutes everytime!! Even on call ins! They say 15 min, get there and have to wait another 20! Its a chicken house for Gawd's sake!

The food is always good, but they ALWAYS forget a part of my order. I've gone 3 times in the past month, 1st time they gave me regular tenders when I asked for spicy, 2nd time I asked for Cole slaw and fries, I got mashed taters n fries 🤦‍♀️ then TODAY they completely forgot a side to the order. Aint going back. Gave them 3 tries.

This location is usually good, but tonight the food wasn't, It had sat under the heat lamp for too long, we love their fish, but it was dry and hard. There were also no condiments, utensils or napkins unless you asked for them. They were very busy, so ill consider tonight a fluke.

Facility was not clean. Building was ice cold. I am sure that worked out for the staff in the kitchen but horrible for the customers. Finally, we were given the choice of spicy tenders or regular and chose regular. Obviously all cooked in the same grease so ours was spicy somewhat.

Wife and I have come here two times first time was awwwwful, Worse then that to be quite frank. Second time much much better. But folks that work here I hope get the memo. Change the fryer oil... its turning everything greasey, also don't over cook it. It's not hard its just deep frying it's simple. You do those things and you would be a lot better pls pls pls.... I would love to have fried chicken close bye thats good

I ordered two spicy chicken tender dinners one was not spicy the spicy chicken tenders were overdone the rolls were not cooked fully and chicken express charge is 3.5% extra if you pay with a debit card they charge me $.95 to eat the overdone chicken and to do business with them! I will not ever eat there again!

They are so freaking rude. It was $20 for two little meals... I am not wasting my money here anymore. The employees need new attitudes and learn how to wear a mask.

Purchased 6 chicken breasts and was only allowed 1 small packet of ketchup per breast and would have to purchase more if I needed more. No forks to eat hot chicken or sides with. They said they were cutting back. Rude employees to boot. I won't be back.

Ordered french fries. Since last several times I got them they have been barely warm, I asked if they were hot. When I got home, there were several FROZEN uncooked ones mixed in with the cooked ones it will be a long time before I go back.

On Friday, Nov 4th at approx 5:30pm , we had the RUDEST Girl at the DRIVE THRU window that I have EVER DEALT WITH at your establishment! I was on 10/6/19,and the service was terrible. One particular employee was very rude and loud,he was make wearing a gray t-shirt,glasses and had both ears pierced. He even made a remark about,"we are close to Arkansas." They were out of tenders and no one was trying to help the guy in kitchen get caught up. A family of 5 was before me and they still hadn't received their food. No one even tried to offer a ,"We are sorry,can we do anything for you." "Just said it's on its way." I don't know where the manager was,but they were not doing a very good job. I may never go back there to eat.

Terrible. I waited 20 for my food, while the employees carried food out to 1 car, passed the window. I was 2nd in line. They delivered food out to the 4 cars behind me. Finally I get up to the window and the girl tells me it's gonna be an 8 minute wait! OMG...i asked why. Said that they had burned the last batch of chicken tenders. Another girl came over and said they were having problems with their fryers. I ended up getting some okra. They should have did up front, when they took my order that their fryers were down. Needless to say, I was highly disappointed.

Second day in a row they refused to cook more dark-meat. I asked if they were cooking more, the guy that use to be the cook said not tonight. A girl said the same thing yesterday. They had plenty of tenders cooked. The manager was focusing on cleaning and closing tasks.

Drove through to get a drink...BIG MISTAKE! Sat in line for almost 20min before someone came out to get our money and bring our drinks. Now, you'd have to know how the drive-thru is here, it's covered and you are pinned in on both sides at the window and there is a curb that runs back alongside the line opposite of the building . The person at the window was never "moved up" and there was a long line of cars behind me. We sat in the drive-thru for more than 30min for 2 drinks (which were gone by the time we were able to get out of the line). I have never seen such a moronic way to run a drive-thru. Won't be going there for drinks any more that is for certain!

Nice clean joint but they seem to always be low on dark meat and forces a ton of wait time. Update, tried 6 times calling to avoid wait times. 2 hang ups 4 no answers. Go to avoid this poorly ran place and drive to Kilgore to the one there. Said wait time 16 mins been parked near 25 mins. Crappy place.

Skip the attitude from the kids running the drive-thru followed by a no “thank you” departure with cold, bland, fried -again grease oozing fare. But, don’t worry the lbs. of sugar used in the tea will meld with the saturated fats in your blood… practically reducing your odds of repeating such customer shaming flagellation this joint offers. Be kind to yourself…. Drive the next town over with a KFC!!!!

The food was lukewarm. The okra was over-cooked. The biscuit was like eating a hockey puck. The price was more than the one in Longview. We won't be going back.

Waited over 25 mins in line before I ordered. Order a 2 piece chicken and there response was it was gonna be a 10 minute wait. Got to window they proceeded to tell me to pull to side and wait another 10 mins. Had my money refunded and will never go back.

I ordered a sweet tea from the Chicken Express in Henderson and there was dead insect at the bottom of the cup, this is unacceptable and unsanitary. This is not the only bad experience my family and I have had.

If they burn it, they will serve it anyway. A manager included 10 burnt, hard as a rock, rolls and didnt bother to give us the option of waiting for better ones. So be sure to let them know you dont want any burnt offerings with your order.

Chicken was good, but staff doesn't know difference between diet Coke and sweet tea. Spicy chicken or regular, neither. Runny gravy too.

I wanted the special they have on Mondays before it close. Wrong time to go because no dark meat and out of a lot of things to make a order. The manager was RUDE to people my special wasn't that at all payed for a meal with NO sides. Special $1.99 + tax, so I spent $7.56 for the rolls and wings. So sad ready messed up!! 🤬🤬

When a fast food place tries to make you pay for the condiments even if you are only asking for one your expectations should be very low. So many better places to eat, why would I deal with this poor service. One star only because 0 was not an option.

Okay so I understand that personally it's just one penny, but every time I go to this Chicken Express I get too sweet teas. Sometimes I'm told that it is $1.99 and sometimes I've told it's $2. Today I was told that it was $2. I made a comment to the cashier about how their computer needs to make up it's mine with the prices. I asked for my receipt as always and decide to look at it this time. My price was $1.99, but they charged me $2. Again I understand that it is just a penny and a penny is not going to change my life, but it is the principal of the matter. How many other orders are they charging more than what the actual price is and they are just counting on people not looking at the receipt

I stopped by around 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 15th. They weren’t busy inside but was asking drive thru customers to please wait. After placing my order, #1 spicy with fries and diet Dr Pepper. She said, okay, what side did you want? I said fries and a diet Dr Pepper. Then she asked, what drink did you want with your order? I said the same as the previous order, diet Dr Pepper. As I drove around, she was looking at me through the window laughing. I paid with my debit card and noticed the other employees looking in my direction laughing. I was given my drink first, then my boxed chicken. Before driving away, I opened it up and the fries were covering the strips and the roll was smashed. The strips were more like nuggets, cold and over battered. I wasn’t sure what they were trying to give me but I wasn’t having it. I asked for a manager but was told there wasn’t one at the time. I handed her the box and left. Too many kids left unattended in the work place. No thank you.

The customer service has just gone down the drain which is really sad. Employees cut you off when you’re ordering, they don’t even look at you when taking payment. We just had an employee hand us our box of food and not even look our direction, her arm stuck out the drive through and was so far from our window we were shocked.

staff is unapologetic when they admit they forgot your items and they remember when they don't pack them. the not caring really comes through their voice. customers are made to feel its their fault if they didn't ask for something instead of making sure they offer things like dipping sauces. good food when its hot and fresh. horrible horrible service.

My girlfriend ate here and she sent $13 dollar for 4 small tenders and a fry that barley had and anything in it. The tenders were mostly breading with little chicken. The roll was the only decent part I wouldn’t pay $7 let alone $13 I will not be back.

At one time Chicken Express was the best anywhere, now that they remodeled the one in Henderson,Texas,I guess WE are expected to pay for the remodel, they forgot to put chicken inside of the BATTER. Last time I ordered food from it took me over a hour after I called them from home drove to the restaurant while still on hold ,entered the store while still on hold to have the supervisor tell me that they didn’t have time to be talking on the phone , my food was half cooked I didn’t get part of it wen I called the following day they ask me to bring my receipt, and the food we didn’t eat because they weren’t in the. Business of giving out free food , heck I would have been happy with the food cooked properly. I wonder y the owners don’t leave a # or email or something because I know the message for them to call me never reached them, the young and I do mean young manager I’m pretty sure didn’t even bother writing my number down smh

It takes over an hour to get your meal through the drive through. Although the food was fresh and delicious. The poor attitude from the staff is absolutely unacceptable. Apparently an order of jalapeño poppers is only a 3 piece, so don't waste your money on that. Having to wait for an hour for a meal in the drive through is completely absurd

I typically don’t waist my time or energy completing these online reviews but simply had to make an exception Utterly devastating Chicken E has usually been my go to for the 4 piece #1, Coleslaw, and biscuits What an epic failure I ordered my go to Biscuits so hard you would expect to crack a tooth So that left my tenders and slaw I then opened the slaw and my nose was immediately offended by the most peculiar odor I ventured the audacity to try one bite only to solidify my instincts were indeed correct That too was past its shelf life Definitely ruined a great thing here

Chicken was burned up, so hard that I couldn't bite it, inside was hard,as the outside. For almost 14.00 dollars for a three piece chicken and sweet. That was not fit to eat. I used to get good chicken there.

2nd time I stoped here and got spicy chicken and it was cold for the second time in a row. And when I asked for honey with 14 pieces of chicken they gave me 4 small packets and said they had to charge me 75 cents a pack for a packet of Heinz honey packet. So cold food and rude lady. Won’t be stopping here again ever

Henderson, TX needs to take Express out of Chicken Express. In drive thru line for over 13 minutes. Got 2 pc fish dinner, fish was salty and the hush puppies weren't cooked through.

Apparently a new remodel of the building means an increase in prices by a substantial amount. $18.00 for a 7 piece tender meal is ridiculous. Not to mention, the roll tasted awful and the sides were lacking all around. The line used to be backed up around the building, and I was wondering why it was actually much shorter than it used to be, after getting racked over the coals and the greedy thieves tacking on a service fee for using my card, I then realized why the line was short. I hope whoever remodeled this place finds themselves with any empty building after going out of business.

Update : I will post pictures, I ordered at 7:03pm 9/1/23 my corn was 37° and frozen, my chicken strips 90°, my gravy was 117°. I took a thermometer to check them. You can see how small the 7 strips were and I paid $18.49 for this!!! I rated them 3 years ago and I'm re-rating 2/11/23. If I could they would get zero, they could care less about customer service. An order was placed 1 day in advance and paid for in full, when we went to get the order "they forgot " and it was an important order it was to feed a family after a funeral. No we are sorry not regrets nothing acted as if they were put out. So they gave us what they had was it the amount we ordered who knows, their prices are extremely high and yet we chose to business there. It will never happen again. Done with this dollar poor customer business.

On Monday October 30, 2023, I stopped by Churches to get lunch for me & my husband, it was 12:45 when I placed my order for a dozen livers roll & gravy & 2 pc meal, breast! It cost me $22. And I waited at the window until 12: 56, then they asked me to pull up & wait, which I did, then I waited & waited at 1:20, I got out and went in, at first they acted like I didn’t have an order, then they found it at the window, and didn’t even apologize for making me wait 30 minutes, the bottom of the food boxes were soggy, I am very disappointed, then when I got home the livers were bad! Really bad!

I called in an order for a family 30 pc tender 4 sides with 2 gal of tea to feed 6 people. Sounds delicious until your order is beyond needing help. The tenders was real hard, the fries wasn't cooked to crispy, the okra was real dark like it was over cooked but greasy so that was weird. Not one container of gravy. The corn was good and so was the poppers. Made a call and a young person answered and told me to come back. I do not live in Henderson so bring back like that is not an option. I wanted an apology but I was made to feel it was my fault that this was all wrong and then the call ended. Will not be returning and i am sure that is not a loss they will feel but it will be a win when I can get my order right elsewhere. The newer owners need to check in with the previous one to learn a bit about food and customer service.

Please think 2x on going to Chicken Express. Chicken is horrible. The waiting time is horrible. We took an hour to get our order. We were the only customers there and we were in the drive-thru. On top of all that the drinks were flat. I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders. They only gave me 2 and 1 small leg. My mother ordered the 2 piece chicken. 1 breast and 1 thigh. The breast was k. The thigh was greasy and very very over cooked. It crumbled while she tried to get pieces of meat but, it was weird cause there was no meat inside. I guess that's what you expect when you hire a lot of young kids. They were not working they were dancing and taking selfies. Management should hire responsible people. I know for a fact that they just lost 2 customers. I rate this restaurant a 1.

Management needs to step it up. Dinning area was dirty and floors are very sticky and oily. I seen the lady that was handling the chicken with flour mix it then go and use the broom to sweep the floor. She also touched her hair while she had her gloves on. I was in shock and the food looked over cooked. The gravy was watered down. Very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I didn’t ask for a refund I left and we gave it to the dogs. Hopefully management reads this and retrains their employees about following food handling protocols. That’s how people get food poisoning. The staff needs to take food safety seriously.

Last week I was told they didn't have chicken for Monday specials at 8:12pm, I let that go and then today I received great service from the young lady that took my order. I was patient at first because I was told it would 12 minutes for my order due to them not having chicken dropped on another Monday special day, some how my 12 minute wait turned into 35 minutes and my order being the very last order handed out behind drive thru and inside with them calling every order that was made before and after I placed my order, after finally receiving my order got home just to find my order was incomplete and I called them to let them know about it I received the same rude, disrespectful, unprofessional attitude from the manager and the same woman that keeps an attitude and is always rude, rolling her eyes,or acting as if certain people are invisible and want take the order. I received bull crap service this time and was denied service cause they didn't want to cook anymore last Monday, I'm returning for my refund and CHICKEN EXPRESS HAS LOST A REGULAR CUSTOMER

I was visiting and doing some shopping in Henderson today 19th of June I got hungry since I love chicken express I wanted some fish and fried pickles my favorite 😋 but when I got my food I was very disappointed 😞 cause it was so salty very salty I mean salty the fries the fried pickles and the fish the only thing was good was the sweet tea. I spent 19.00 on food😕😒and no roll I pay I didn't get it. I guess they got mad cause I wanted it fresh so they poured a box of salt on my food 😕...I can't even eat it. I will be giving it to my dogs

Shitty staff in my life. Gravy is consistency of water. Waited to get my order taken. No one said we will be right there or take my order. I left. Gonna tell my friends to not ever eat at this place. 3.7 stars is a joke. Should be one.

The chicken strips were the worse I've ever had🤮 they were so dry & way too much batter & hardly any dried up chicken.. I do not recommend Chicken Express in Henderson.. The gravy was too watery, just all out NASTY🤮🤮🤮

We live out of town, sent my wife in to get supper from them, after a yr of not going there from the last time are order wasn't right..and again wasn't right again! Missing items..called we are sorry we'll do better? What about the inconvenience and items missing..Will be along time to go back if ever..Henderson needs a good chicken place that cares.!!!

We thought we would give Chicken Express another try as the last time we went, a year ago, the food was awful!!! Well, we will NOT be going back EVER!!! We spent $26 on an 8 piece mixed with a family side of okra. We live 30 minutes out and when we got home to eat, the okra was burnt!!!! When we opened the box, we got a whiff of burnt/smoke smell and the okra looked super well done, but it tasted like it was burnt black. It was inedible!! So we can only guess they didnt change the oil after they burned a batch. So sad! We spent our teenage years eating here in the 90s and have fond memories of the place. What has happened??? Oh AND they will not accept calls so you cant tell the manager unless you drive all the way back to town!
