Absolutely stunning food. Drinks can be a little pricey. Really nice out the way location. There are more farm tractors and cows then houses within a mile radius of here. Ideal for a quiet, undesturbed gathering

Our friends suggested this location to meet for lunch and we were so happy that they did. The food, drinks and service were fantastic. We will definitely be coming back

My partner booked a nights stay in the deluxe suite alongside evening meal and breakfast and WOW just WOW what incredibly good customer service and facilities!! The staff absolutely went that extra mile in making my birthday feel special and some of the extras not even charging us for!! Had the most relaxing indulgent night in beautiful surroundings

A beautiful setting for this hotel/restaurant. A party of 4 of us ate here for lunch on a Saturday. The menu choices were seasonal and varied, it was difficult to choose as everything sounded good. The food didn't disappoint, every dish was well presented and everyone enjoyed what they had chosen. The staff were attentive and service was friendly. I would definitely come again.

60th wedding anniversary celebration in our own room with a dedicated waitress (Franseca). Gorgeous food, promptly served. House wine excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough. All of our party were very impressed.

Brilliant couldn’t fault it . We came here as a big group for a family member’s birthday. We had their taster menu which was fantastic the door was incredible and the wine even better . Simon and the staff really looked after us would definitely recommend.

My sister and I visited the restaurant today for a birthday celebration. We greeted warmly on arrival and shown to our table. I was given a complimentary glass of prosecco for my birthday (a very pleasant and unexpected surprise). We ordered the schnitzel salad and skinny fries. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The portion size was generous and the staff were attentive. The restaurant had such a fabulous ambience and looked especially beautiful because the Christmas decorations were up. Although we were full, we decided to share the pavlova for dessert as it sounded so delicious. It was fabulous! I absolutely cannot wait to return. Thank you Simon and the team. What a wonderful afternoon!

Great restaurant, very nice prawn toast starter followed by a nice sirloin steak. Perfect pint of Hepworths Bitter. Nice old building in the Sussex Downs. Available for private functions. Garden areas outside large enough for a marquee.

A wonderful 7 course tasting menu, using local ingredients. The food was beautifully cooked and superbly presented, with delicious sauces and garnishes. The vegetarian menu was equally well received. Our thanks to Chef and to all the team of attentive waiting staff, with a special mention for Gerard. We had a lovely evening for our special family celebration in the private dining room. Visited for afternoon tea with some friends. The afternoon tea was lovely, a well thought out selection of cases and sandwiches. Staff were friendly and gave some helpful recommendations. We are looking to come back for lunch - the Sunday lunches looked amazing!

We spent a perfect sunny and calm couple of hours at Tottington Manor enjoying a drink on their deck in the beautiful surroundings of the Sussex Downs. Our waitress, Francesca, was friendly and welcoming. Although we’ve been here a few times before, today was the day that made us want to return soon.

I've come here for dinner several times. I'm afraid that added to the disappointment. Dinner is always excellent. The breakfast was not. Come here for dinner. Avoid breakfast.

My concierge arranged this place for a pre-Xmas meal for me, my wife, and son, and it was a disappointing experience. Service was efficient and observant without being intrusive. Restaurant is a welcoming and cozy space. But the food was bland. My son and I had the turkey ballotine, which was supposed to come with red wine jus, but came with gravy. The veg was slightly overcooked. My wife had fillet steak and asked for it medium rare, specifically stating she wanted it pink in the middle. It turned up more med/well done, with no pinkness to be found, and it looked dry, as if the meat had not been left to rest long enough. She asked for mustard and that never arrived and she ended up eating only half the meal. Pudding was decent, however. My Black account benefit was 2:1 starters, but they did not reflect that on the bill and I had to ask them to change it. That message was there on the booking email, as I had a copy which I showed the waitress. All in all, a humdrum meal, not worth the money at all, and we get better food at around half the price in the gastropub 200yds from my house, so would not go again.

We have been to Tottington Manor restaurant, now called Terra, many times especially since the new owners took over with the brilliant chef. We have loved every meal, absolutely delicious & beautifully presented. We last enjoyed an excellent dinner in August 2024. However, the past 2 times we have been to Terra for dinner, both on a Friday night, last November 2024 & again tonight July 2025, we have noticed something has changed. The food is lacking flavour, the presentation is not quite as good and many of the staff were new, some of whom who seemed to need more training e.g. a server brought the white wine in a ice bucket, left the wine on the table, took the bucket away and did not pour the wine. Another very pleasant server apologised for forgetting to bring the multi seed bread appetiser. We waited 30 mins for our starters -a sweet corn pannacotta, very pretty, but which had no taste at all (except for the mild tzatziki(?)& fritter topping. The other dish -smoked anchovies looked more like whitebait & it had no smoked taste. We then waited for an hour for our main courses. To give the staff credit they apologised for the wait explaining they were managing a huge event. There were many wait staff but perhaps not enough kitchen staff to manage both the restaurant and the event simultaneously? 3 of our main courses were peach salads, which were bland, 2 of which had dry chicken slices and the 4th dish -a spinach and potato curry which had no potato in it and 1 leaf of spinach & was mainly just a mild tasteless curry sauce on rice. The accompanying poppadom was bathed in oil rather than dry and crispy. It did not present as the same curry which the man at the next table had received. The lemon meringue pie was unusual on a thick sponge base, not ‘pie’ pastry with very little lemon and which was like a preserve. Again to give credit, one of the managers apologised profusely and another generously reduced the bill. The service charge was waived, but I provided a tip for the staff as this was mostly a kitchen problem and would not be fair to the serving staff for them to lose tips. In the past the chef was so good that this restaurant earned several awards but this was not an award winning dinner last October nor tonight- it was as though the chef was not there and a sous chef had produced it poorly, which was very disappointing as on both occasions we were entertaining guests from Canada. We appreciate the refunds but mainly we are very sad that this lovely gem of a restaurant seems to have deteriorated in the past 9 months.

The food portion was extremely small left hungry but staff were very welcoming and sweet. The seafood platter was enough for half a person
