Swiss Lakewood in Lake Tahoe feels like a cozy alpine hideaway with warm wood interiors and charm. The Swiss-European menu, pasta, veal, lamb is rich and elegant. Service shines, especially with Lisa and Renee whose warmth and care make the evening exceptional. A timeless, romantic spot where comfort, flavor, and hospitality come together perfectly ❤️
We had a group of 8. We had mistakenly made the reservation for the next night. The restaurant was busy, but they were able to accommodate us within a few moments. We ordered family style, which I highly recommend if you can’t decide - because everything is good! We will definitely be back next trip. Oh, great wine list and fantastic dirty martini’s.
This has to be my favorite place in all of Lake Tahoe. Definitely the best food and best atmosphere. I only ate there once but wish I would’ve stopped by once more. I would definitely go back and I highly recommend this place.
Swiss Lake Restaurant – A West Shore Gem in Lake Tahoe We recently celebrated a birthday dinner for my cousin at Swiss Lake Restaurant, and it was a truly memorable experience! This classic old restaurant, tucked away on the scenic West Shore of Lake Tahoe, provided the perfect setting for our special evening. With plenty of parking and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it’s easy to see why it has stood the test of time. We kicked off the night with a round of expertly crafted cocktails including classic Martinis with blue chesse olive’s and a variety of appetizers, including the rich and flavorful escargot, perfectly steamed clams, and decadent oysters Rockefeller. Each dish was a hit at our table, setting the tone for a fantastic meal. The service was outstanding, with a special shout-out to Hannah, our waitress, who made sure everything was perfect. Her prompt, attentive service ensured we never wanted for anything, and her friendly demeanor added to the charm of the evening. The menu offered a wide variety of options to suit everyone’s tastes, including their famous prime rib, available on Friday and Sunday nights. Our group enjoyed a diverse selection of entrees, and everyone left raving about their meals. To finish the evening, we couldn’t resist indulging in their house specialty dessert – the Grand Marnier soufflé. It was an absolute masterpiece! Light, airy, and bursting with flavor, it was the perfect end to an already perfect meal. Swiss Lake Restaurant is a true West Shore gem, offering great food, excellent service, and a classic Tahoe ambiance. We’ll definitely be back in the Summer!
What a nice surprise this was. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating, though the outdoor seat3may not be obvious. That's part of the charm however if you do end up eating outside. It's a nice, open space enclosured by foliage. Food was good, and the service was on point. Check the menu and you should be pleased by the restaurant's interpretation of the dish. They do seem to have a time limit on the table, but it wasn't an issue for me. This time we ate during a rain storm outside. That was interesting. So outdoor seating is probably available even in questionable times. They are also strict about food substitutions for some reason.
Swiss Lakewood is like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. We came here not minutes after opening and already it’s bar that can fit 15 ppl easily was mostly full w their loyal patrons. Being the bar flies that we are, we squeeeezed our way into the bar, thanks to the kindness of our new friends. Conversation was lively, mood was happy, this establishment epitomizes the good natured ppl that live in Lake Tahoe. Since we were here for apps only, we got the French onion soup, lobster Mac n cheese and grilled artichokes. Every single thing was excellent. Beyond. For drinks we had the best martinis a man can ask for. It was dry and stiff, just the way I like ‘em. We combined our apps with the Walt Pinot Noir that was excellent. This rustic cottage vibe restaurant with the excellent drinks, food and people was just the ticket.
Oh my goodness. What a pleasant find. Such a relaxed and mellow atmosphere, nice new bar with serious old school Swiss decor and fantastic hospitality. I wanted to order everything on the menu and the artichoke, lobster mac and old fashioned were all exquisite. Will definitely return many times!!!
Ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, French onion soup and the Grand Marnier Souffle! The soup was fabulous with just the perfect amount of cheese and onions. The weinerschnitzel was good. Alittle thin but tastey! Mashed potatoes seasoned just right. Red cabbage was also to my taste. Order for souffle got put in late but I'm sure it will be delicious! Overall food was delicious and once I was seated the service was great. I highly recommend eating at Swiss lakewood in Homewood! PS... drinks were great and they let you stay past closing!
Really good food. I had the weiner schnitzel, and it was fabulous and the wait staff was very nice and helpful. We sat at the bar while waiting for our reservation (we were early). The bar tendered was friendly and guided us to a good reasonably priced bottle of wine. I will be eating and/or drinking there again.
Wonderful meal. Had the market price fish, which was sea bass with a mango sauce on top. Walt Pinot was superb, and the Grand Marnier souffle is a must. Restaurant has a beautiful patio with an outdoor and indoor bar. Beware though; if you make patio reservations and weather turns sour you are stuck with the patio. We ate inside just in case.

We dined outside under towering pines. Nice ambiance, enhanced by several water fountains that create a pleasant background sound that also masks the sound of passing traffic. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. My Cioppino was delicious! Parking is provided on site. We had an overall completely enjoyable experience.
Such a wonderful time tonight! Michelle was the perfect addition to our little annual college reunion! The food was so good…the cocktails /wine were perfect. We had ahi and halibut specials. The other two raved about the salmon and the scallops. And that mushroom salad… so unique and fresh!! We will definitely be back!
As a German, I have very high standards for schnitzel, and the meal here was absolutely spot on. The schnitzel was perfectly prepared, and the homemade red cabbage was truly authentic—it tasted just like home. I also have to mention that all of the other meals were fantastic. Five stars for an authentic and delicious experience!
The food was top notch and the service staff was extremely friendly. My recommendation? Sit at the bar, the bartender is a funny top notch guy who even sacrificed his clothes by chasing after us in the pouring rain in the parking lot to return my hat that I had left. What a guy!!!! I’m from Florida and that was the first true “Southern Hospitality” I saw on this trip.

Had a wonderful time tonight for our first visit here. We ordered the french onion soup, wedge, ahi and pork chop. Everything was excellent, only note is pork chop was just a tad dry. June, our server, was great with menu selections and Renee provided history of the restaurant. We are already planning our trip back to Tahoe!

Family of six with teenage / adult kids. Central to the space is a cocktail bar. No soft drinks on the menu. The service was sub-attentive (felt like the waiting staff were a sub, missing silverware, kitchen not the fastest). Food tasted great, but the serving sizes require ordering a starter and a desert (too late to order a starter afterwards). Menu is diverse. A few dishes from the menu were not available. Tasteful decor and ambient design. A few plastic folding tables hidden by the tablecloth. Good volume non-generic jazz music (Dave Brubeck, not live music). Biggest opportunity for improvement is in service.

Crab cakes were watery and my burger arrived dry. Took me 5 minutes to get some ketchup and mustard. We did enjoy the chambers punch as always

Great atmosphere, kind staff, but the majority of food was just okay. For the price I would expect better quality. My fish was very undercooked and it tasted like the spinach may be frozen not fresh. However, the flavor of the dish was fine. The soufflé was pretty bad if I'm being honest. With that said, The outdoor seating was beautiful and as I wrote prior, the staff was kind and professional. I might give it a second try, but will order the less expensive items since the quality isn't quite there to make purchasing something more expensive worth it.

Lackluster food. Dry chicken. Overcooked scallops. Wattery and overcooked artichokes. The artichokes where supposed to be grilled but where actually steamed. This place is overpriced for mediocre food. Skip it.
This was recommended by a local Inn, so I gave it a try. The bartender was cold and unfriendly, and seemed put out by the slightest request. My salad was overdressed wilted greens. The seared Ahi was barely cooked and cold, served on a smattering of undercooked greasy rice. All in all, a dreadful experience, and one I will not be repeating.

Horrible experience. All of the servers and employees were giving bad looks to our party. We were here in Tahoe for a bachelorette party and wanted a nice dinner close to our airbnb. The server had a poor attitude and the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. We ultimately got our food to go because of how poor our service was.
