Rachel is a wonderful waitress. She has great suggestions. We all loved the Brussels sprouts. The shrimp and grits were delicious and a little different. Salmon and burgers were also very tasty.

This place is definitely a hidden treasure. It was live and exciting. Maddie was really in-tune and accommodating with our needs. We had the pork ribeye (which I'd never heard of) which had a blueberry🫐 glaze🙌🏾really nice/unique touch, with collard greens & conecuh. Korean bbq tacos (brisket & shrimp) w/ Parmesean fries, smash burger w/ sweet potato fries and chicken tenders w/ mac & cheese. The smoked old fashioned 10/10. The crispy brussel sprouts were really a conversation starter. Everything was really good, no complaints. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We had a great casual dinner in this restaurant. The quality of the dishes are really good. The green goodness salat was tasty. We just had a side size, and it was plenty. The soup with grilled cheese was great, especially the grilled cheese with brisket on it. But the best dish was the crispy brussel sprouts with pomegranate. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was ok, it’s a casual spot with the option to watch sports. I would come definitely come back for this great food.

Olivia was our waitress, she really was above and beyond. Food was incredible, they were out of the porkchop but my hubby just ordered the pesto pasta like i did. Our friends got the grilled cheese and tomato soup along with the southern fried chicken plate- again both of theirs outstanding. They also ordered the blueberry bread pudding and gluten free brownie- no surprise here, ALSO fantastic!! Also we got the cheese dip appetizer, mouth watering good. I literally am going to have to travel to Bham as much as i can just to eat here!! (Im in hsv) but yes, just go. Its nearly impossible to have a bad experience here. Im so happy this exists! 🙏🏼💖 PS! HOW DID I FORGET. They have a swedish pear 🍐 cider- short story we had 3. Beyond good.

A group of seven ladies decided to try the Battery for a girls night out. What a great experience. Our server, Jessica was amazing. She was very sweet. Helped us with drink choices and menu items. Everything we ordered was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

I was a real foodie this past weekend. My family and I went to The Battery in Homewood. My niece suggested we try this place and I'm glad she did. It was fantastic. We went after church and we really enjoyed the food. I had Mama's Chicken fried, they also have grilled. It's a breast with Conecuh Collard Greens and Mashed Potatoes. My niece is a vegetarian and she had Parmesan Fries, Southern Succotash and Brussel Sprouts. My hubby had 15 oz Bone-In-Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes and Mac-n-Cheese. The food was so good I ate it all. That is something I never do. I always have a box to go 😀. They also have sandwiches, soup and salads. The staff was great. I will visit them again. Go try them you will not be disappointed.

So happy with my experience here! The food was phenomenal and we didn’t have to wait around for it. Our server was so sweet and thoughtful. I can’t wait to go back and try something else! Loved the outdoor seating! Highly recommend.

We come here every time we do a thrift visit in Birmingham because the service and food is always top notch. We get the Brussel sprouts, poutine fries but swap salsa verde for some gravy (WHEWWWWW!!!!!!), and then normally a kid’s meal which is generous and YUMMY, or a sandwich meal, such as the club pictured here. We always end up with leftovers a plenty for each of us. Additionally, my friend got an espresso martini that she adored. Rachel was our server and she was GREAT!!!

It's a little loud in here because of the sports bar atmosphere. The food was really good. We had the grilled cheese & tomato soup (excellent- perfect amount of food and lovely flavor), the Buffalo chicken sandwich (also very good, had more celery on it than anyone would expect, and the fries on the side were tasty and cooked perfectly) plus the kids smashburger. The kids menu burger was not much smaller than the regular smashburger- it just didn't have the toppings (only meat and cheese on the bun) and slightly fewer fries on the side.

Had a very nice lunch at The Battery on a football Saturday. Great weather so we sat on the patio. Our waitress, Sydney, was a sweetheart! Very patient waiting on our order since it was our first time and we had problems deciding. She made great recommendations. I had the green goddess salad with a cup of the best most unique tomato soup I've ever had. The rest of the table had the smash burger. Everything was sooo fresh tasting...even the mozzarella sticks. A bit of salt in the dishes would really take them over the top. Too full to get dessert! Hope mgt will make sure to have a different game on each set of TVs so that everyone can see 'their' team no matter where they're sitting.

Really good brussels, excellent service. We didn’t wait at all, sat outside and was immediately greeted. Mama’s fried chicken was really good, and the blackened redfish sandwich was a favorite.

Let’s start with the cons and move to the pros. To start, the pictures on the restaurants website are unfortunately. It accurate, specifically with respect to the Philly cheesesteak. It looks WAYYYY different in real life vs the picture on their website. Have to zonk them for that. Second, we ate outside and there were an unusually high amount of flies. Of course I expect some flies when eating outside but it was a lot. Pros: The food itself was so good. My friends got the chicken Philly cheesesteak steak and the steak Philly cheesesteak. While they loved the food, they were disappointed that it didn’t look anything like what was shown on the website. Other food order were smash burger and pesto chicken pasta and both were enjoyed! The staff were friendly and attentive. They came around with water pitchers to refill glasses multiple times and cleaned plates from the table within minutes of finishing. Our waitress did a great job!!

This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery. I met my aunt there for lunch, and as soon as we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The place was packed inside and out which is usually a great sign. After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. The interior had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and I never once had to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was impressively quick, and every dish arrived hot. Appetizers Buffalo Wings – The wings were well-sauced and smoked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. However, the biggest letdown was the lack of seasoning. While the smoky flavor was great, the wings themselves needed more depth. 7.9/10 (With proper seasoning, this would easily be in the high 8s or even a 9). Queso & Chips – The chips were fresh, crunchy, and unseasoned but still did the job. The queso had potential, but it lacked the bold flavors needed to truly stand out. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. 6/10 Entrées & Sides Wedge Salad – The salad itself was solid, but the bacon was a miss. It had an overpowering liquid smoke taste, leaving a strange aftertaste and smell. 7/10 Fries – These were outstanding hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the variety of cuts and shapes. 8.5/10 Smash Burger – A well-executed smash burger with that signature crispy edge and juicy interior. However, the meat itself wasn’t seasoned, which held it back from being exceptional. 8/10 Final Thoughts Overall, The Battery was a great experience, and I’d happily return. The biggest downside was the lack of seasoning across multiple dishes. If they improved that, their food would easily score even higher. That said, I still highly recommend trying this place. Final Rating: 8/10 Service: 10/10 – Absolutely fantastic staff! Would I go back? Without a doubt.

Recently checked out this restaurant I’ve been contemplating on for some time but finally said why the hell not .🫢 The atmosphere gives you sporty but sleek bar vibes . Let’s cut this introduction short starting off the star ⭐️ of the show was the Short Rib Poutine. Boyyyy ohh man 😳this appetizer did not fail. I ordered two more after the first that’s how bomb it was. I mean it really was out of this world (former big back speaking I think to top it off I just needed Hawaiian roll lol). I also ordered the Homewood Honey cocktail/ Hot Girl Gimlet it was a watered down but still good. For the entrees me and my guests ordered a variety of things from the menu. We ordered the Short Rib Poutine, Chicken Philly, Pesto Chicken Pasta, Korean tacos (brisket), the Seasonal Bread Pudding (Apple), and lastly the Cookies and Icecream. To make this review short, the Hot girl gimlet tasted like spicy dish soap. The Bread pudding wasn’t bad but it was so stiff you would have thought you were eating some old play-doh with apples soaked in sprite, the trio cookie with ice cream tasted like the Christmas out the can 🤣 that’s all folks i’m out 🤣👋🏽
